Not a 4-star hotel, but clean, nicely decorated, very helpful and polite staff. Good spread for breakfast, of course. Building is pretty much brand new, as far as I could tell.

The best part is the location - a block (or less) from Louisville Slugger field, one more block to Riverfront Park. A really great urban hotel, on the cheap(ish).

Great new place, descent design. Try to get Hampton Inn(2 blocks away), if not, this will work.

Not as nice as some Residence Inns.  Bed was squeaky and room was very small.  Room had a view of a parking lot.  At night, saw some shady looking people in the parking garage...  Didn't feel safe.  Next time I will stay back at the 21c.

Great service. They go extra mile - even during the Derby!

This place deserves a good review, I would stay here again.  The rooms are great, very clean, modern and nicely decorated.  It feels like a studio apt. with a kitchenette, desk area with couch, chair, etc.  Comfortable beds and overall just a nice feel to it.  It makes business travel a bit less horrible.  Staff is very friendly as well.  Free wireless in the rooms which is always a bonus, cable only has the basics, maybe 25 channels or so.

The only negative for me is the shortcuts on the bathroom towels which are a bit rough, and the shampoos, etc. should be upgraded....not even a body lotion?  We all know that traveling on planes and staying in hotels completely dries you out!  For all the details they have paid attention to here...how can you cheap out on bathroom stuff!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The employees were helpful and courteous. There's a small little store in the hotel lobby that sells snacks, toiletries, pain meds etc. It was handy. We booked 2 rooms, both were 2 bedroom suites. Beds are comfortable. Rooms were clean. The rooms were bigger than I thought they'd be and the kitchen was well stocked. This place was great, I'd definitely stay here again. Also, there's a reasonably priced shuttle service at the hotel. It accommodated our group of 10. You can walk to some great restaurants from here. The breakfast (included in the stay) was ok, definitely not gluten free friendly. Even the hash browns seemed lightly breaded. Parking is $10 per car per day. You can hear hotel doors closing at night time, it never woke me up though.

I'm torn about this hotel. It's a really nice hotel. The parking was very cheap as downtown hotels go $10 a night. The staff was really helpful and sweet. They have a nice, free breakfast. So all of that stuff was great. We were in room 202. So, if we weren't so close to the street and next to a bar, I might have been much happier. They didn't have a room to move us to for our stay. We were there for four nights, over a weekend and each night there were undesirables drinking, smoking, cussing and revving motorcycles just beneath my bedroom window. I actually went out and bought the loudest fan I could find. So a tip....ask for a high floor away from Market street. Another tip...there is a free trolley that makes a loop on Market and then down Main so you can take it through NULU and all the way down to the Louisville Slugger Museum. The front desk also has a nice map of downtown that was very helpful. Between the walking and the trolley, we barely took the car out.

Lately when I am in Louisville and staying with my family, this is where we decide to stay.  It has a nice location to everything (and RIGHT across the stret from Slugger Field!).

The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and even has breakfast included.  They have a cool pool as well.  We ended up getting 2 2BR units and a baby playpen as well.  It is also nice they have full kitchens as well.

If you need a big place to stay in Louisville for a decent price- this is the place to come- or else you will need to look for presidential suites or what not in the nicer hotels which are way more costly.

Average Marriott. Bathroom was extremely dirty with other peoples hair. Breakfast foods were pretty nasty. Staff was friendly enough. Pool was good

I stayed here for a gymnastics championship in July of 2013.  I am writing now because I still feel it is important for others considering this hotel to have a full picture of it.  Okay, yes, it is nice to have breakfast at your hotel but if you're staying a week and have the same thing everyday it gets pretty old.
Whatever you do, do not get the room above the Whiskey Bar.  There were several loud nights, karaoke night, etc.  My daughter had to compete and needed her sleep.  We did call the front desk and were offered ear plugs, which was nice.  Another night, I believe it was Saturday night, there was a big music festival in town.  There were food trucks in front and they were going strong at 4 in the morning.  I called the front desk and was told they would leave a note for the manager.
In the morning I went down to see the manager, Rebecca Marks.  She basically told me I was lying, that the bar shut down at 2 a.m., and there is no way there was noise going on at 4 a.m.  Ms. Marks had an attitude that is inappropriate for customer service.
The exercise room was small, but when my friend and I went to work out we were the only ones there so it "worked" out.
The pool is small, very chlorinated and so hot it was disgusting.
Parking was decent.
The area you have to walk in to get anywhere does not appear safe.  We were approached many times for money.

WOW! Ready for a long review? Let's do this: I haven't had a hotel stay that was this pleasant in a long time. Thank you so much, Residence Inn! Your hotel was clean, well-staffed, convenient, and offered a 5-star experience. This hotel has it right.

First, the location was awesome. It was easy to get to from the highway (I came from the east), there is a spot right outside the front door for you to park and check-in, and the parking garage is attached to the building and has easy in/out access. Also, the parking lot is attached to the building on both levels and I felt extremely safe. The lot is permit only, so it's monitored ($10/night to park--not bad!). The hotel isn't right in the "heart of downtown" (think museum row, 4th street live, etc.), but having stayed at the Galt House, Seelbach, Brown Hotel, and Hyatt Regency, I'm going to have to say the Residence Inn takes it on ease of parking and convenience. I could walk from my car and get to my room in under 2 minutes.

Next, the staff is amazing. Every staffer I met was kind, knowledgeable, and smiling. Even the housekeeping crew said hi and smiled! The man that checked me in last Friday night was incredible and so hospitable. When my ice maker wasn't working, he kindly got me a bag of ice from the kitchen downstairs and apologized for the inconvenience. He was great at directing me where to park, how to get to my room, and answering any question I had. On Saturday morning, the front desk attendant was able to give me directions to where I was heading.

On to the room: Super clean and well stocked! There wasn't an iPod docking station which was the one and ONLY downer as I'm addicted to listening to music on my iPod, but I survived! The kitchenette was great. All the dishes, utensils, and appliances were extremely clean and I definitely appreciated having this luxury in my room. I stayed in the one bed/studio style room. There was a small table for dining, a desk, a couch, a TV that swiveled between the bed and couch for viewing, and a very comfortable bed. The linens were nice too. My skin is sensitive to harsh chemicals and I had no problems with the Residence Inn bedding (thank you SO much for this, Residence Inn!). I loved the spacious bathroom with excessive mirrors, because a girl can never have too many mirrors. Did I mention they supply Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner? SCORE.

Other things I loved about this hotel:

- I didn't hear anyone above/below/beside/across from us all weekend. This building was obviously well-insulated.
- Do not be hesitant about using the pop-out bed from the couch because it's darn comfy! They supply extra bedding for it, so no worries there.
- The breakfast was tasty and the coffee was good! I hate cheap hotel coffee, but I didn't feel the need to jet off to Starbucks after enjoying a cup of their brew.
- There are several restaurants that you can get to easily from the hotel, but if you're in dire need for a quick bite to eat, hello McDonalds one block away. Or, if you need to unwind after a stressful meeting/week/etc., hello Haymarket Whiskey Bar one block away. Don't wanna leave your room? The Residence Inn provides with you a huge list of delivery options and a grocery service!
- Free wifi!
- Gym and pool and whirlpool! Sadly, I didn't get to use them (weekend got too busy).

Confession time: I was a Hyatt/Hilton girl before this. I think I'm a convert to the Marriott ways now. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to anyone I know traveling to L-Ville.

This is our fIrst time here. Hotel is very nice great location in downtown Louisville.  Parking was easy in small garage next to hotel.   Rooms are nice we stayed in suite with kitchen. If you need a place to stay downtown and close to Louisville slugger baseball field I would recommend it's within walking distance. . Many small art galleries are just within blocks as well. This was easy to find right at the highway.

This is the spot during convention time in Louisville. Why?
* Far enough from 4th Street yet close enough to everything.
* NuLu being a block away with new restaurants such as Deka and Toast.
* It's the Residence Inn, you have your suite with a bedroom, living room, and kitchen.
* Don' t feel like going out after a long day just eat at your temporary home.
* Garage is large and two levels with doors to the hotel
* Staff is very nice and professional
* Hotel is secure

Overall, a nice location if you know where to go in the area.

Had to find a place with no notice because I was having a medical procedure done in town. Every other place was either booked and wanted $250+ or was just crappy. Not only was the rate reasonable, the front desk was super friendly. I explained to them that my husband had worked all night and then driven me to town that morning, they let him check in at 11am and sleep while I was in the medical center and then we stayed overnight. The room was perfect! The bed was so comfy, the couch was extra large and there was a full kitchen. Super large bathroom. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Listed as a 7 star hotel? Why? It's an average Marriott Residence Inn with paper thin walls and windows, a very loud bar next door, and lots of obnoxious drunk people out in front and in the parking garage all night long. Staff is super nice but very under impressed overall. Location is average. $16 per night for parking in the parking garage. Very minimal breakfast choices. We are regular Marriott members and have stayed in a huge variety of places. The Courtyard is in a much more convenient area for walking to restaurants, etc. Will definitely stay there instead next time.
