stayed here a few years ago, my boyfriend goes to school out of state and hers where we can meet up and hang out,  never had an issue, everything is great, wonderful breakfast, a few freak tornado warnings witch were fun bc  we watched it from the hotel room, its close to the airport and we could watch the planes comeing to a landing. its fun being tourists, def will be back!

After waiting till the last minute to book our hotel for Derby Weekend, I finally found the Sleep Inn had a few spots left. We paid through the roof for our 2 night stay, but that was to be expected with Derby weekend. We kept joking about where we were staying expecting to be a dive, but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it ended up being.

Granted we were not there that much, but what really stood out were a few things.
1. We got there early to check in, thinking they would not be able to accommodate us, but they hooked us right up and got us settled so we could head off to Churchhill Downs.
2. They called a taxi each time we needed one and had to pull a few strings to get us one a couple of times. Busy Taxi Weekend!
3. Decent Breakfast selection each morning and even had a happy hour with complimentary bbq pork sandwiches, chips, and soda each evening.
4. They gave each room an official Kentucky Derby glass, Kentucky Derby pillow, and Kentucky Derby blanket along with a couple of Monster energy shots and Monster energy drinks.
5. Located a mile or two from Churchill, a mile off the freeway, and right next to a convenience store and a McDonalds, we were centrally located.

Overall, a decent sleeping experience for when you are really just crashing there.

One Note: The gym is right when you walk in, with glass doors so everyone can see you. It has one treadmill and one bike, so needless to say, didn't utilize that. Also, noticed an outdoor pool in the back, again didn't use, just noting.

Was back in town the other day and needed a place to stay that would accept pets as we had waited too long to not bring the puppy along for the short trip.  Made the reservation on-line and specified what type of room we wanted and booked room.  Knew that this motel had been built a few years back, but really had never heard much about it, so was hoping for the best.

Upon check-in, the staff was very friendly and it didn't take any time to get the room keys, etc.  The room (queen suite) was very nice and was very clean.  (Note: This is a total non-smoking motel, but there are ashtrays outside each entrance.)  The TVs worked just fine (LCD HDTV sets), the Wi-Fi was fast and efficient, and the place was clean all over the interior.  (The outside of the building is starting to show its age, but the inside has been extremely well maintained.)

The breakfast was pretty good and complete for a motel provided (read that as "free" in motel-speak) meal and the coffee was fresh and pretty good, as well.  The staff made sure that there was more than enough even though there were many guests that night and it appeared most were taking advantage of the eats.  As far as "free breakfasts" at motel go, overall was very good experience.

The checkout was as fast and efficient as the check-in had been.

Will we stay there again as we come back to the area on a regular basis?  Yes, we will.

Note:  As it was very cold, we did not use the outdoor pool.  Even we were too busy on this trip to make use of it this trip, the workout room appears to be something I will use in the future (checked it out to see what they had and if it worked.)

Great rate, clean room, free shuttle and parking, plus a goodie bag at check-in! Can't beat that!

Had to stay here on business. Have stayed in MANY hotels. Must say, this is one of the WoRsT! They may be in the process of remodeling, but they need to just tear the building down and start over. This place is very small and needs much more than new carpet. It seems as if they robbed another abandoned hotel and used the furnishing to remodel theirs.

Sign out front said $64 it ended up being $79, oh well. Room was nice, pillows sucked. Really hurt the want to sleep in. We checked in and went to bed at 1:30am and am posting this at 8am if that tells you anything. Adequate at best. It's nice that it's clean and not sleazy. Don't have to worry about tweakers or bedbugs! Which for some is a five star review by itself.

So, this place allowed a bunch of paint thinner soaked prank playing painters to hang out here all weekend. With all of the jokes crazy stories, and didn't once call the cops shoot at us or try and feed into a single bear.

Thanks guys.
