Stayed here one night. Payed in advance, asked for a quiet room high floor. Received ground floor adjacent to freeway, sandwiched between the laundry and the outside door. Repeated request for a quiet room and was told that is a quiet room. Bad night- freeway noise, laundry, people coming in the door- besides the expected noise of the aircraft.. Bedside lamp didn't work as the cord was too short to reach a plug. Basic stuff. Don't stay here without ear  plugs and eye shades - the smoke alarm blinks all night. They could have situated that in the kitchen area. Other Springhill Suites have been much better. Wouldn't hurt the staff to smile either!

The hotel is phenomenal. The airport shuttle came within ten minutes and the front desk staff was more than helpful. The shuttle can also take you to the nearby attractions (Kentucky State Fair Grounds, etc) if you request; it's better than having to get a taxi. The room was simply immaculate.

The only negative would be the breakfast.  They have "make your own" waffles, but the iron wasn't greased, so there was already a waffle attached to it by the time I got to it. The rest of the food was pre-prepared (fresh out of a box) and unimpressive. But, then again, what do you really expect for a free breakfast? The friendless of the staff and cleanliness of the rooms more than made up for it.

The pool looked clean. Like another Yelper said, there isn't a hot tub. However, the exercise room was impressive.

I'd certainly recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future.

Best Airport hotel I've ever stayed at.

Staff was friendly and informative, breakfast was great each morning, and the decor was surprisingly chic.

The pool was a bit industrial, and the absence of a hot tub was disappointing, but all around a great stay.

This hotel is ultra-modern. Very European in design throughout. This place blows away any Radisson, Holiday Inn, La Quinta, or every other let's-look-like-all-the-others hotel. I can't believe I'm the first Yelper to review this hotel.

-Super clean
-Contemporary everything: furniture, plasma TV, fixtures, etc
-The ultimate anti-Holiday Inn
-The carpeting-- yes, the carpeting-- is freakin' beautiful
-Less than a year old
-Free breakfast (including warm food like egg, sausage, etc)
-Free Wall Street Journal and USA Today
-Free apples in lobby
-3 minute drive to SDF airport
-Great customer service
-15 min from downtown

-No restaurants or bars within close walking distance
-If you're a light sleeper, you'll hear the departing or arriving jets

Spotless and clean room, great breakfast including hot eggs, sausage etc.  Excellent staff with fast response.  The cleanest room I've had in a hotel in 20 years!  Easy stay close to airport.  The only problem I experienced is it was 20 degrees outside and the indoor pool was not heated.  Not sure I it was supposed to be.  Had a great  safe stay and pleasant experience.  CLEAN!

Stayed here several times. The shuttle to the airport runs efficiently. Some noise from airport noted. Rooms clean. Out of Chardonnay the past 3 times we have stayed here. Overall, good

Hmmmm... Pool, check. Hot tub, check. Fitness room, check. Breakfast, check. Awesome staff, check. Great room for about $100, check!

What else is there to say really? This is an excellent little hotel, we really enjoyed our stay.

We were driving by on our way to New Orleans and this was a perfect place to stop!

Stayed January 2012, traveled with friends

Pros -
Hotel is nice from the outside.
The rooms are large and spacious.
Cons -
The elevators and the lobby had some weird smell. Not very pleasant.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Sleeping was very hard on them.
The toiletries were not the best in the world. I am sure there is room for improvement there.

Clean, good breakfast. Rooms had not been cleaned behind the beds or night stands. Overall, not terrible. A little pricey.

A hotel is only as good as the GM. This GM is GREAT!!
My wife and I had the good fortune of staying at this wonderful property the weekend of the Kentucky Derby. Hotel was filled to the gills, like Christmas in NYC. The staff was one of the best of ANY hotel we have ever stayed at. James the GM and his staff understand what the real meaning of Customer Service with a smile. Not request was too great and even though they were sold out and needless to say crazy, they handled every guest with care and understanding during the busiest weekend of the year. Only 1.5 miles from Churchill Downs and a 10 minute car ride into downtown Louisville. We highly recommend to everyone that you not brush off staying here just because they are out by the airport. A 10 from us. Keep up the good work. We'll be coming back to stay again for Kentucky Derby 142 in 2016.

Not a bad hotel to stay in when you need to be close to the airport. A typical marriot property, clean , friendly staff. Our room was nice and bed was comfortable. Yes it's noisy due to the location, but it shouldn't be a big surprise to any one staying there. We stayed the night before an early am flight and left our car in their parking lot. That alone was worth staying there. It's a quick shuttle ride to the airport and the driver is awesome! Nice guy and very helpful. I would have given them five stars if their computers-printer had been working so we could print our boarding passes.

Decent hotel, by the airport which does make for planes flying overhead...didn't keep me up but I guess it depends on your tolerance.  What does always wake me is the squeaky doors and slamming doors in hotels.  Can someone please invent a quiet closing hotel door?!
The continental breakfast is really nice.  You have eggs, sausage, waffle maker, oatmeal bar fully equipt with higher end items like agave nectar, walnuts, almond slivers and craisins. There is also cereal, croissant, bagel, muffins, lemon poppyseed bread.... individual nutella and philly cream cheese, peanut butter and maple syrup packets too.  Really nice touch!
Indoor pool is fine, max of 5 people is posted so if its ever crowded forget it.  No hot tub.
Workout room has 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical, 1 weight set.

We were staying in Louisville for a wedding, and I was very impressed with this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were able to accommodate some last min true changes to our itinerary, which we really appreciated. The only thing I wish they had available were some movies to rent or a wider variety if cable to chose from, but overall very nice place.

Only a short drive from the heart of Louisville and Whiskey Row!
