One front desk attendant, friendly in the evening, but  the morning girl-- did not greet us or say hello, just ignored us as we walked out.  The carpet needs replacing.  The hotel room was fine but the people a few doors down from us banged doors all night, from 3:30 am on..  (You know, where you put the metal thing out to keep the door from locking?)  -Called and talked to front desk but they did nothing.  The beds were comfy and clean linens but I hate dirty carpet and it was, ugh gross.  At least on the 6th floor where we stayed.  The pool and weight room, very nice and clean.  There also were not enough towels in the room for our family of 5.  Free breakfast was nice but we went to Lynn's Paradise to eat a big breakfast. Lots of ambulances at night but maybe because of hospitals nearby.

I've stayed here both times I've stayed the weekend in Louisville for drinking with friends. They are usually running some kind of special for $100 a night on the weekend. The staff here is really friendly, and the breakfast in the morning is great! The rooms sleep 6 (2 each on the bed, and then there's a sleeper sofa), so it's great for larger groups. These rooms are huge, with a separate shower and toilet room. Both Ethernet and Wifi were available here free of charge.

My most recent stay this last weekend: We had booked 2 rooms, paid, and checked in. After finding we'd only need one room, since not as many people were staying the night as we'd thought, I was able to call down to the front desk, and after they sent someone up to make sure we hadn't done anything to the spare room (we'd only poked our heads in, and maybe turned on a light), they gladly refunded the cost of the second room. How cool is that?!?!

I'll definitely be back to this place again; the rooms are nicely sized, affordable, and the staff here is top notch.

Once in the land of burnt necks and "y'alls", we made a b-line to our hotel. Lucky me got my own suite, sweet!

For some reason the entire hotel was 70's themed. From the couch in my room with Ikea lamp, yelp.com/biz_photos/FZyw… , to the oddly decorated breakfast bar area. None the less, my stay here was awesome. The bed was adorned with half a dozen pillows of varying firmness and the desk with ample power strip and free internet was perfect for my business needs.

yelp.com/biz_photos/FZyw…

Full size ironing board and iron went unused thanks in part to my wonderful girl's ironing and folding skills and the fact that I turned the shower room into a steam room to let out a couple luggage born wrinkles. There was a nice alarm clock with built in Ipod dock so I could wake up to something other than country music on the radio.

In the morning we hit up the well stocked hot breakfast bar. The décor was right out of the Brady Bunch. But the food was just right for a mid-range hotel. Nice hot mushy cereal, crisp cold dry cereal and a bevy of sausage patties and dried up eggs.

If work demands I go to Kentucky again, I'll be sure to stay here!

Great Hotel. $10 a day for parking (full in and out) , convenient location and a short walk to 4th street live and all of the other hotel bars (Galt, Browns, Steelbach etc). Staff was nice, wifi worked in rooms, Large breakfast selection with healthy choices. Extremely clean hotel, very spacious rooms, including a microwave and fridge which we put to good use.  Stayed for 4 days in October, could not be more pleased.

We arrived here late at night and left mid morning, so we weren't able to utilize all of the hotel's amenities. Nonetheless, I was still pretty satisfied with our stay.

Things i enjoyed were the free Wi-Fi in our room for up to three days, free hot breakfast for all guests, and contemporary style of the place.

The toilet room and shower room were separate. The sink in the toilet room was so small. It was hard to brush your teeth without spilling water all over the floor. There weren't many mirrors and the only two sinks were in either the toilet room or the shower room, so if people were in them, you couldn't wash your hands or look at yourself in the mirror.

We called the front desk to ask for recommendations on places to eat with two young ones. The person wasn't much help, but did recommend walking to Main Street, which was two blocks away. We walked and realized at night, it wasn't the most appropriate place for two young ones. There were many pubs and bars.

Located next to what appeared to be a major medical center.

Couldn't have been a better spot for a family with two twins under two. We arrived late on Thanksgiving and were warmly greeted and as we entered our room to our surprise they had already set up two high quality pack n plays for our girls to slumber in.  As we awake in the morning we went downstairs for the complimenatry breakfast which was actually pretty darned good and made our life much easier as there were great options for our girls including oatmeal, fresh fruit and yogurt. The only downside was that we didn't like the pillows on the bed but because the overall experience was so good we'll just bring out own next time as well as our bathing suits. Well done SpringHill! We'll be back!

Free wifi, free breakfast, discounted parking, near everything I need, what's not to like.  I have been here 9 weeks, so far....and counting, and have had any issue resolved quickly by the staff.  Mostly minor items, something not working, dripping, etc.  One star removed for the POOR Bistro 301 that provides their room service, not worth the time or expense of ordering from there.

wifi (or wired) is pretty speedy, even when I know the hotel is full.  You even can pay for faster access if you wish.

Extremely clean, entire 2nd floor is devoted to breakfast, free in/out privledges and cheap parking.

Our room was very modern, with a comfy bed and L-shaped couch that had a fold out sleeper.  Great location, about 5 blocks from Slugger Field.

Free wifi and free breakfast.  Pretty perfect.

My company put me up in this hotel during my time in Louisville. The hotel is nice. Parking is a bit tight. Your room key gets you to the upstairs parking. The staff was really nice. There is breakfast on the second floor. Location is great. Freeways are close by. You can even walk to downtown Louisville. The room I had was just right. Clean and quiet.

This Marriott cousin is a posh little number for an affordable price. The rooms boast modern IKEA-themed decor with cool stainless steel furnishings. As our room was filled with four ladies, we were thrilled to discover each suite had a separate toilet room and shower room. That's right, no more sharing facilities!

The room also had a microwave and mini fridge, as well as a lounge sofa and a modern desk with built-in privacy wall. That means, if needed, four people can change clothes at one time: one in each bathroom, one in the bed area, and one behind the privacy wall.

The bedding was white cotton, all washable, with no germy old comforter. There was also an iClock, where I could dock my iPhone overnight for charging.

Our sleep was wonderful. It was pretty quiet, couldn't hear any of the other neighboring guests. Things did get a bit loud around 3:00AM from people leaving the bars at Fourth Street Live. Our room was on Floor 4, so if street noise is an issue, ask for a higher up room. (I think there are 7 or 9 floors.)

Garage parking was pretty affordable at $10.00 per day. It's in a secure area and a guard is always on duty. You can go in an out as many times as you want.

Located along the Urban Bourbon Trail and near many of Louisville's must-see attractions, SpringHill Suites is a great place to rest your head in Derby City.

Price: $116.00 per room
Parking: $10.00 per day

Great hotel! Affordable, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious rooms, clean and close to everything! One of the sinks in our room (yes, there were 2!) stopped draining and maintenance fixed it while we were out. The front desk staff even wrote us a little note with bottled water and a snack to let us know the sink was fixed. I've never felt more welcome!

Very comfortable stay!

This hotel was great.  The staff were fun, friendly, and very helpful.  We were in town to celebrate my husband's birthday and we like to park and walk everywhere.  They made sure we had a map and pointed out several places of interest.  There is a parking garage for guests and parking was just $10 a day.

The services surpassed those of other hotels.  The wireless internet was free for 3 days and if it wasn't fast enough you could pay a small fee for faster internet.  There was also a wired connection in the room.  The workout room had 3 treadmills, weights, and other machines.

Free breakfast was on the second floor and there was a large variety.  There were strawberry, blueberry, regular, and cinnamon waffles.  They also had different hot options every morning.  These included sausage and egg one day, bacon and mini omelet another day, and biscuits with gravy on Sunday.

Now the most important part . . . the room.  It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable.  The bed was so comfortable that I slept through the night and I don't usually sleep all night in a hotel.

The location was also perfect because we explored downtown and went to a baseball game and it is between both.  Anytime we visit downtown Louisville this will be where we stay.

I have stayed at this location a few times. It is fairly close to the Yum Center and Fourth Street...which was the reason that I booked it the first time. Very clean, spacious and a breakfast buffett is offered. My only quarrel is the pricing is never the same. The closer to the booking date, the more it usually is.

This was the perfect hotel for our needs.  My friends and I were down in Louisville to complete the Urban Bourbon Trail and just needed a place to sleep that night.  Nothing fancy, but clean.  The room was spacious and modern, with clean linens.  The best part of the room was that the toilet was separate from the shower.  Score!  This was great for 4 girls getting ready in the morning and I wish all hotels were this smart.  The room was also equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, television (with a clean remote, whatever that means), desk, and couch.

Parking was great at $10/day because they allow you to come and go as much as needed, with the use of key card.  They even allowed us to leave our car there for the day after we had checked out and wanted to explore the city more.  The staff was friendly and helpful, making the checking in/out process simple.  I cannot comment on the pool because we didn't go but I will be sure to check it out in the future.  You also get free breakfast with your stay, but we overslept...too much delicious bourbon!

This hotel was in a great location and we were able to walk literally everywhere we wanted to go.  There are obviously fancier, historic hotels in the area but this is perfect for someone who just wants a nice place to crash.  Highly recommend!

I stayed here for a convention in Oct 2014. The staff was very helpful and the room was quiet and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally helpful, suggesting restaurants based on our schedule needs with the conference, making sure we knew where we could go and how to get anywhere. Jaqueline, Autumn, and Austin were so extremely nice and helpful that nearly a month later I'm remembering to mention them in a review! Thank you! Bacon everyday would be great ;-)

This is the only hotel to stay in when going to downtown Louisville.  The rooms are bigger than any others in the area, have refrigerators, and the breakfast is amazing.  It's only a 5 minute walk to the convention center.  Stay here!

Typical cookie-cutter suite type hotel. I thought the rooms were a little Spartan, but they were clean and comfortable. What made my stay great though, was the friendliness of the staff.

The breakfast buffet was average, but the fitness room was excellent!

Stayed one night and I wasn't overly impressed.  The best things were the friendly staff and the complimentary Continental Breakfast.

The room was laid out really strange.  The bathroom and the shower were in separate spaces, and the doors to each had the frosted glass.  Because my wife and I shared the room with another couple (2 queen beds), the frosted windowed doors were not the most comfortable situation.  The beds were very spongy and uncomfortable.  None of us had a decent night's sleep.   There was a couch separated by a desk/glass sliding doors partition from the bed area, but there was no tv in the couch area, which I found to be a little strange.

The walls seem to be thinner than normal as well.  We could hear the people in the room next to ours talking and laughing late into the night.  One of them had BAD gas, if you know what I mean.  The walls were rattling on occasion, and the laughter ensued from both their room AND ours.

Upon receiving the hotel bill, slipped under our door, I noticed a $45 "LD" charge, which I thought maybe was mistakenly our neighbor's "Loud Dump" for disturbing the peace.  After checking with the front desk, they said it was a long distance call we had made - of which we didn't.  They looked into it, and then revealed it was billed to us in error - it was supposed to have been billed to room 515 and NOT 415.  It sounded fishy and I was just happy they took it off my bill.

If in the area overnight, I won't be staying here again.  Keep looking, folks.

Great location for this hotel. The room is huge and clean. I do like the separate toilet but the sink in that room is too small and almost unusable. Carpet is little dated especially in the hallways. I was expecting hot/warm cookies in the evening but didn't see any during the 2 nights stay. The breakfest was ok, typical. Scramble eggs was hot but little watery. Would be nice to have "make your own waffle". free WiFi was great but too slow. In summary, I would come back next time I visit.

Checked in to an 8th floor room the hallway and room were very musty. We were moved to the 7th floor to a much better room, however the room was still in need of some updating. Most furniture was worn but the beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast was just on the fair side. The second morning breakfast ended at 9 am instead of 10 am (like the morning before) and we missed it.

The pool was small but nice and well maintained.  It did have a 5 person limit.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind.

We stayed last week one night at the SpringHIll Suites for a Bachelorette Party.  The room was great and clean.  The beds are SUPER comfortable and plenty of space.  I loved that they seperated the shower/sink and another sink and toilet area.  It made it great for the amount of people who were staying the night.  Our suite had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch.  We comforatbly fit 5 people.  The only downfall of the room was that the alarm clock/iPod dock did not work for music and there wasn't a safe in the room (if you care about that kind of thing.  I personally dont have anything safe-worthy but noticed it and thought it was worth mentioning).  The continental breakfast was STELLAR (by continetal standards)  They offered oatmeal with plenty of toppings, cereal, eggs, sausage,  bacon and biscuits, along with pastries, toast, englush muffins, and bagels.  The fruti was fresh and the coffee was great.

A few reason I didn't give them the 5th star:  the parking garage was a mess and the machine messed up BOTH times when I tried to enter and exit.  There was no clear help button so I had to set in my car, call the hotel, and wait as a line formed behind me.  The pool area was kind of grimy.  There were tons of noddles and used pool toys lying around and overall just didn't have a good feel to it.  As previousy stated the breakfast offerings were great but the seating in the room was limited and the space was underutliized making it hard to accomoadate the amoutn of people who were trying to eat breakfast.

Overall I would definitly reccomend this hotel to friends and family (minus the pool experience).

GREAT SERVICE, ACCOMODATIONS & AMENITIES!

Had to make a pit stop here on a road trip back to Chicago from Atlanta and boy my family and I were on cloud 9!

There was 7 of us with age ranging from 60-something to 3 years old and this place met everyone's special needs from a fridge to store medication, a complimentary substantial hearty breakfast, comfy luxurious beds you name it!

They also pre-warmed our rooms so that we wouldn't have to bear the winter chill waiting for the heater to kick in to make the room comfortable...this is what really made a 5-PLUS star experience!

The great interior design and style was definitely a bonus.  We also appreciated the proximity of the Muhammad Ali Center and made a stop before getting back on the road.

Would definitely make this a regular stop on our future Chicago-Atlanta road trips!
