    Noisiest hotel EVER!!

The whole point in staying at a hotel is sleep right... Good luck! And I'm not talking about noisy partiers, I'm talking about the hotel itself. My room was located in the tower over the lobby facing the highway, and every noisy vehicle in KY takes off from the red light thinking they're on a dragstrip. Motorcycles, freight trucks, wannabe hot rods, Toyota Camry's, Prius's, loud or not, it doesn't matter they sound like they're making laps in your room. Add to that the fact that all of the road noise from what must be a billion vehicles on the busiest transportation sector this side of New Delhi India bounces off of the hotel itself and right through your 'window?' You know that smudgy opaque thing that kinda makes the room brighter when you pull the curtain back... So effectively you get to hear the road noise twice for those of you that somehow missed it and like the echo reverb thing that this building has going on...

The elevator is slow as molasses. Which means everyone uses the stairs, you know, the area with the slamming doors that slam shut every 1-3 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG... The plus side is every 1-3 minutes you have the opportunity to be startled awake thinking someone is bursting in to your room! You'd pay big money for that if you're a horror freak and looking for a true scare tactic experience, all for free at this wonderful establishment.

'Hardwood' floors, you know because it helps to echo the noisy theme they're trying to achieve.

Did I mention that to the other side of the hotel Louisville International airport just about borders the property! Well it would anyway, except that the actual border is the interstate highway...

Keep the AC turned up and on
    TV on and wide open
    Bring ear plugs
    And some headphones
And you might not hear all that this hotel has to offer...

Don't be seduced by the price and seeming convenient location. Read our caveat first. We stayed here two years ago. Not amazing, but ok for the price.

Tonight, we checked in and got to our room, only to find it occupied. No one was in there at the time, but someone was clearly staying in it. Rather horrifying, but at least no one screamed. So, we got a second room.

It was a non-smoking room, but our first clue was: smelled of smoke. Then we found a soft drink cup, and there was plenty of ice in it. One of two beds had been at least layed on. There were cup stains on the desk. Toilet seat was up. Clearly, this room had been occupied, and smoked in very recently, perhaps a few minutes prior to our entering it.

The Super-8 front desk person claimed they had no other rooms. We obtained a refund, and left for some place, any place that was in fact, a real motel, perhaps with empty and clean rooms. We have no proof, but we suspect collusion. We might be wrong.

Our experience might not be like yours. We, however, won't set foot on the property again, under any circumstances. YMMV.

Well if you smoke electronic cigarettes get ready to be charged $250. We had four people staying in our room all who don't smoke regular cigarettes but electronic ones. I opened the door to the hallway and the maid was outside of the room, a lot of vapor went into the hallway, she called the manager and the lady came up and said we would be charged for smoking in our room..yet there wasn't smoke just vapor, and the window was open. She was very rude about the situation and said she knew it was just vapor but didn't care, and was still charging us because she could.
The rooms are nice but not worth an extra $250 for smoking a electronic cigarette inside.

I know this isn't the greatest hotel out there and there is better I agree.  But this one is not horrible.  I've stayed here 2x now making the drive between Atlanta and Chicago and the reason is because it's pet friendly and right off the highway.  The rooms aren't that bad and they do have a microfridge in some of the rooms (you have to ask).

The worst part of the hotel is the rude, unfriendly younger folks they have working here.  When my family walked in the girl just looks at us with no greeting whatsoever.  No hi or welcome.  So we say we are checking in and she reluctantly puts her phone down and sighs.  (Really??). We tell her we requested rooms with a microfridge and she says she doesn't know if our assigned rooms have them.  So we ask her if can please check.  She said there's no way to know until we look in the rooms.  I said well how about YOU look in the rooms first since you work here?  She refused so we had to look ourselves.  One of our two rooms had one so we had to go back and switch keys.  Very irritating after a long drive when you just want to out your stuff down.  When we asked to talk to a manager to help this sad simple situation we were in she said the manager wouldn't know either and wasn't there anyway.

So clearly that was frustrating but we limited our interaction with her after that and it was fine.  The breakfast is continental and super simple but they do have juice, cereals, bread, bagels and apples.  Nothing fancy but you get what you pay for.  And for being pet friendly and having a good nights sleep it was fine!  Lots of restaurants around too.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend on our trip to Louisville. We were super impressed. For the amount we paid we got a clean, nice room and excellent service.
They allowed us to check in early which was a life-saver for me. Our room was clean and really cute. It looked recently remodeled so I don't know if all the rooms have been updated. The TV had great reception and the average number of channels. We were late for breakfast and the housekeeping staff let us get some food to take with us. Everyone we met who worked in the hotel was friendly and helpful.
We have paid far more money for much worse hotels.
