Came here for a weekend escape with my sister and we had a terrific time!  Nice, big screen TV with HD channels, large bathroom, little nook just for the coffee maker, and plenty of pillows.  The only reasons that I can't give it a perfect score are the fact that there is a train RIGHT THERE outside the windows on both sides.  The second night, the conductor thought it would be cute to blow the whistle repeatedly for a really long time in the wee hours of the morning.  Aargh!  The other, more minor, ding was the loudness of the air conditioning unit in the room.  The tv had to be turned up too loud to hear it over the a/c.  I was worried about disturbing the room next door.  But, the lobby was beautiful, my sister loved the hummus from the cafe, and they even had a good selection of wines at the little market!   It really was a wonderful weekend and we enjoyed the hotel thoroughly.  Just had to mention the train and a/c unit for people that this would really bother.

The rooms had 42-inch LD HD TVs with Direct TV, everything looked modern and clean, and the food in the cafe was fresh & hot.  Really great experience.

My stay at the Courtyard Marriott was nice overall, and I would say this is a 3.5 star rating. The hotel lobby is very open with lots of space to lounge, meet with business colleagues, or have a drink with friends. The rooms are spacious, but both my room and my colleague's room was damp and a bit musty. The A/C unit was also very loud, along with the train that came by late at night and not only made noise but shook the room a bit. The room rates are decent, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location is right next to a boardwalk area with a few restaurant choices. I am on the fence about staying here again since I value a quiet, comfortable room.

I travel often and I'm a Marriott Platinum and this hotel exceeded my expectations.  It's remodeled and fresh. The staff is super accommodating. The bistro is great. The feel is avant garde and trendy. The location is superb near the board walk and 3 minutes from the Horseshoe. Marriott rates this a 3 category hotel and it's nicer then 5 categories I've stayed at in other cities.

Great location.  It's right at the boardwalk so plenty of places to walk to and eat if you're lazy to drive.  Free parking and free wi-fi.  Wi-fi connection is bit slow.  The staff is very friendly.

Has a small outdoor pool.  Way the pool is designed, the sun sets behind a building at around 5:30 so if you wanna lay out for a tan, you'll love out on about 2 hours of sun.

The room was spacious and clean.  Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner are a nice touch.

I have to write an update because the next time I visited this hotel (I've stayed here probably 5 times total now and will be here once a month from now until the foreseeable future) I mentioned that I was never able to get the wireless to work and the maintenance guy went and got me a loooonnggg ethernet cable so I could still work while sitting in bed and plug into the wall to connect to the internet. SO sweet.

In addition, I drove my own car here and I had never realized how conveniently located the hotel is to the rest of Shreveport/Bossier. It's very easy to get to almost any restaurant or touristy hot spot you're looking to visit. Everything I said in my previous review (shown below) is still definitely true. I love this hotel to my core and will be a patron of them any time I am in Shreveport/Bossier!

GREAT staff. Seriously. From the moment I walked in the door they made me feel welcome, they had big smiles on their faces, everyone was willing to chat with you and make you feel more like you were staying with friends than staying with strangers.

It's very conveniently located on the Boardwalk which has tons of restaurants and shops nearby, plus you're so close to the water!! The beds are super soft, the rooms are actually very spacious, and I was extremely comfortable staying here for several days for work.

The other review is right, it's a huge TV and although it doesn't come with a ton of channels, the DirectTV thing is cool, and overall it's just a comfortable place to stay. I do wish they had fridges/microwaves in the room but it doesn't bother me so much because of all the shops/restaurants nearby. Love this place!

Here on business and was able to get in for the night without a reservation. Very friendly staff and little bistro area with snacks and meals was convenient. Room was neat and clean... Smelled a little stale but nothing a spritz of perfume didn't fix lol... This hotel is great if you're looking for something centrally located ... In walking distance there are Restaurants and Shops and Casinos - OH MY! :) Two thumbs up!!!

Just stayed three nights here over the Thanksgiving week.  The location was great, couldn't ask for a better location next to the boardwalk and the casinos.

The parking lot was small but ample and was always able to find a parking spot.   Employees were very friendly and house keeping did a great job.

Our room was upgraded to a king suite so it was very spacious and had a nice bar, tv, and desk area.  My only negative comment is that the hotel is well used.  Lobby and room had been updated but you can see the wear and tear on floors, carpets, and dings on walls.  It just needs some sprucing up and a good cleaning.

Clean rooms with modern decor.  We had ants in our room, which the hotel staff responded to in under 5 minutes. Overall a positive experience and I would recommend.

We were initially here for one night but added a night due to how much we liked the hotel!  We were here with my son for a competition in the area.   I am Marriott Gold and we were upgraded to a 2 queen room with a view.   Very spacious and clean!

I travel some for work and this was one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels I have visited in quite a while.   The front desk staff was very accomodating and friendly!

The hotel is super convenient if you want to step out and do some shopping.   My daughter and I went for pedicures while the guys went to Bass Pro and hung out in the hotel.   There are also a few restaurants to choose from within walking distance and even a casino if you are so inclined.

The only issue I had at all was that the wi-fi was slow and my kindle couldn't even use it.

I will definitely visit this hotel again.   I am now planning a girls' weekend and this is where we want to stay!

The room had nice decor, an ok bed, and the hotel has a comfortable lobby with a Starbucks. It wasn't too bad for a one night stay. The front desk staff was nice enough... one very personable, conversational guy who likes to make jokes and a girl who is very quiet, seems to be just doing her job, which she does competently enough.

I can only give three stars because there is no room service in this hotel and the room could have been cleaner. The first thing I saw upon opening the door was a giant black stain on the carpet... if they tried to clean it but couldn't, they need to change the carpet. It's not like Marriott can't afford it. They could also fix their outlets so my laptop doesn't unexpectedly die while I'm writing a lengthy report. And no, I did not forget to flip a switch. I checked. The outlet was dead and the one next to it worked, but only after I had a mild stroke when my computer shut down mid-report.

I normally wouldn't forgive the no room service thing but this hotel is right on the boardwalk, so we had about 15 restaurants walking distance from the front door so it was ok.

Location, Location. Location, my yelp friends. And yes, you will pay for location! At about $149 a night, the Courtyard doesn't discount, but what you spend, will ultimately save you in the long run, on the following:

    1) Potential DUI for us power drinkers
    2) Cab rides

The Courtyard is situated right on the Boardwalk, amongst outlet shops, bars, and restaurants. Oh, I almost forgot- yes, nestled in with the Casinos as well. I mean, that is the *real* reason we come to Shreveport / Bossier, right?

    The positives of this property:

    1) Spacious rooms / suites, w/ a fridge, sink & microwave
    2) Location
    3) Friendly Staff
    4) Pool / Fitness room
    5) On-site café (glorified Starbucks)

    The negatives:

    1) The room was somewhat dirty. When I'm paying $149 a night, especially for a Courtyard, I expect my room to be clean. Oh well, maybe the maids were trying to mirror the demeanor of fast food workers, and send a message for more entitlements, before they work...

3.5 stars. Could be 5 if the price was more reasonable, along with extra cleanliness.

    I may return.

We truly enjoyed our two night stay here this last weekend. Very comfortable, clean, comfortable, well equipped and quiet rooms. The best thing is the staff; Friendly, accommodating and professional. hope we can go back soon.

There's a reason I'm loyal to the Marriott brand and this location supports my reasoning.  I always know what I'm going to get, from the softness of the bed (#1 priority) to the strength of the water in the shower and the make-up lighting in the bathroom.

In addition to the few necessities I require in a hotel room, this location boasts one of the nicest lobbies I've seen in awhile - outside of the luxury level brands, of course.  They've replaced continental breakfasts with a coffee/sandwich shop (that is reasonably priced but not free - whomp whomp) and the entire open space is full of couches and tables, many including their own electronic outlets.  There are also computers set up if you didn't bring your own and a station set aside solely to print a boarding pass.  That's pretty cool, even if I usually handle that at the airport kiosk.

If gambling is your thing, the hotel is very convenient to the cluster of casinos on both sides of the Red River.  Trying to navigate I20 back and forth is interesting but sometimes getting lost in the highway spaghetti is half the fun of traveling.

If your goal for coming to Shreveport is shopping and eating you can accomplish both quite well by walking out the front door.  The hotel parking lot is basically connected to the boardwalk and there appeared to be a lot of family activities going on as we were coming and going from the casinos.

I've always found Marriott staff members to be extra friendly and that rule certainly applies here.  Southern hospitality ftw.

The only negative I can come up with is the freight train line that runs within throwing distance of the hotel.  That bad boy rumbled through on the regular the entire time we were in the room.  If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
