Truly an undiscovered gem! A southern style plantation house with six beautiful bedrooms all with individual styles but all cosy and beautifully furnished. Cheryl the innkeeper welcomed us like old friends and immediately showed us where we could help ourselves to cocktails and snacks.  Large comfy sofas in the living room, a beautiful sun room and so much charm and character.  The next day we had a wonderful home cooked plantation breakfast. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

Wow so not really my usual cup of tea to stay at a B&B but saw a deal on Livingsocial and wanted to treat my wife. To my surprise I loved it. Fairfax is run by the wonderful Cheryl who will make you feel like it is your house. There were only us and 1 other couple so most of the time we had the place to ourselves. At night after a trip to the very nearby Cypress Bayou casino we would come back to a quite house. The front porch is lovely but at night in summer there are plenty of mosquito's.  No problem for us as there is a huge screened in back porch with tables and chairs and ceiling fans. We would sit back there together enjoying a drink and the solitude. It was very romantic and soothing. Then we would retire to our beautiful room with the comfy bed. In the morning I took advantage of the large tub/shower which had plenty of hot water and good pressure. I took way too many showers here lol. There is a fresh made breakfast in the morning at what ever time you want. The other couple had theirs at 6 am one morning and then we had ours at 9am. So sleep as late as you want! The grounds are very nice and large and often I am told they hold weddings there. Franklin the town pretty much closes down at night so be prepared for solitude and eat early. Romance, scenic, relaxing, awesome shower, great breakfast awesome Cheryl, good value, and a casino just 10 minutes away. We plan on going back on a regular basis and you should too.

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful house and Cheryl was very accommodating and so friendly. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) was that the walls were a little on the thin side. You could clearly hear people in adjoining rooms talking in a normal conversational voice. But that alone wasn't enough to knock the rating down a star. This B&B was fantastic. Cheryl made big satisfying breakfasts each morning and had local menus on hand and tips on where to go. This was a great find in a cute little town.

I travel to Franklin,  Louisiana several times a year. Fortunately I can schedule my travels so that I am always able to stay here. This is the best "bang for you buck" Bed and Breakfast for a hundred miles around.

This is my favorite hotel in the whole state! I stay at hotels pretty regularly in New Orleans (which is known for having wonderful boutique hotels and B&B's) and the Fairfax tops them all.

Cheryl always is friendly and courteous every time I come there!

There are only SIX rooms in this plantation house built in 1852 but they are six magically captivating rooms! Rates are reasonable and of course come with breakfast (and free wifi). I usually can get the Fairfax or Murphy Suite for $169/ngt. The other four rooms are very comfortable as well. There is also a bar area with tables and chairs next to the lobby.

The city of Franklin is a very peaceful and charming town with lots of character. New Iberia is only 25 miles away if you want to make a day trip to a bigger city with more shopping/dining options.

This is my escape from all the noise and traffic I usually am encountering in the French Quarter.

A beautiful and romantic place to stay away from it all. I really recommend the Fairfax House to anyone seeking a different kind of stay than your usual modern chain hotels.

I just happened onto the Fairfax house on a stint off the highway.
I was merrily zipping down Franklin main st not-so-much looking forward to my impending roadside motel experience somewhere when this amazing place popped up to my left. Having budgeted in a treat stay, I knew this was going to be my ticket.

The place looks and feels amazing, with a powder blue painted wooded front porch buttressed by white columns, complete with lazy cat out front.

As soon as I met Cheryl, I was sold on staying. A wonderful hostess, a fridge chuck full with Californian white wine, soft drinks and water, a lovely home cooked breakfast and, best of all: the comfiest bed I have slept in in ages. Seriously: I could spend my life in that batboy.

Sitting out on the porch in a rocking chair braving the muggy night with a crisp glass of wine was worth every single mosquito bite I got out of it.

    Flawless stay.
