Disappointed! I'm a SPG member that paid a deposit in February for a reservation in May. I get here to find that they have given my room to another SPG member who wanted to 'extend' their stay. To 'appease' me they are putting me in a smaller room and charging me less (really charging the normal rate). I am so upset and have been a loyal SPG member. Not any longer. Not a good business practice!

Checked in on Thursday 3/12 and stayed until 3/16 for a conference. When arrived early in the morning the hotel was getting ready for their grand opening. Turned out that I was the 2nd guest to check in. My room nor the hotel was ready at 11am but everyone was soo friendly and kept apologizing. I've worked in the hotel business as a front desk agent so I totally was understandable. Brooks and all the staff made sure that my stay throughout the week was perfect. Room over looked the Super Dome and was quite and very modern. I did their green pass for a few days which lets the housekeeper know not to change the sheets or towels. In reward you get a $5 voucher to the bar or snack area or you can get hotel points if a member of their program. During check out the airport shuttle was late 45mins in picking me up and had to go down to the Comfort Suites for them to get me. the valet staff was very helpful getting in the phone and flagging down the shuttle. One even walked and stayed with me at the other hotel to make sure the shuttle came. Like I said this is the best hotel I've stayed at and will definitely stay here again when I come back to

96% of our stay at this hotel was fantastic. Everyone was very, very nice. We've stayed in Aloft's around the country, so we decided to stick with the chain. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they get the job done. Everything was very clean.
The hotel is less than a mile away from the French Quarter, which we walked to every day. There's a cute little coffee shop nearby and a dinner right on the same block. Overall, it's a quiet, convenient location.
The only issue that we had was room service. Our rooms were tended to in a timely manner, however, the person that cleaned our room took a number two in our bathroom. What would have happened if we came in and she was on the toilet? It was unsettling and definitely unprofessional. I'm sure this won't be an issue anymore after the staff sees the room.
Other than that incident, we had a fantastic stay at Aloft.

I was lucky enough to stay at Aloft hotel about a month after they first opened for business. They're still slowly completing different sections for the hotel, but the construction is not noisy, the staff are constantly cleaning so it's not dusty, and it just smelled clean even from the outside. My stay was very comfortable.
The double queen was very spacious for 4 people, with plenty of space for all or luggage and even a rollaway bed if we needed. The toiletry products offered were of Bliss brand and smelled so good and refreshing.
The hotel even had a lounge area with a pool table, the gym amenities were clean and new, and staff was very friendly and helpful. I hope this same high quality will continue for a future visit to NOLA,
I would definitely recommend a stay at Aloft. It is located two blocks away from the French Quarter area, which was most attractive when choosing where to stay--I got the same city feel without all the hustle and bustle of the FQ area. Also, the location provides easy access to great restaurants including Lüke and Domenica!

All that I Expected!
I used Hotwire.com's HOT RATE HOTEL and lucked up and landed an excellent deal for a room at this hotel. If you don't know about this, it's when you pick a geographic area that you want to stay in, and the number of stars you want the hotel to be, and they give you a rate, without giving you the hotel's name. They give you examples of the kinds of hotel it might be.
So, to my surprise and delight, I now have a reservation at the Aloft. I've wanted to stay at an Aloft in other cities, but was unable to for various reasons. I'm now dancing backwards!
I get there, and the the lobby is ultra cool. The check-in is not a long desk stuck against the wall. It's in the front, in the middle of lobby area. The hotel room itself was very contemporary. I loved the bathroom, the shower, and way they maximized a smallish space.
After checking in, which was very quick and easy, we had some appetizers in the lounge area right off the front desk. I order the portobello sliders, thinking they were sliders made of portobello mushrooms. NOT! They are beef sliders with portobello mushrooms on them. Not being a meateater, the bar staff promptly returned them to the kitchen, and gave me a less carnivorous replacement. Basically, the same slider, sans the meat. Thank you, chef!
I forgot my shower cap, which the front desk said they would be happy to have one delivered to my room. Well, after two phone calls and several hours later, I gave up and just tied a Walgreen's bag around my head. Worked just fine ... :-/
Nothing about my stay there detracted from the 5 stars that I do feel they deserve. It's a cool hotel, and if you can get a chance, do yourself a favor and stay there. i will definitely return!
I took some pictures which I hope to post soon.
