This is a really nice hotel with an amazing staff.   I stayed during the Super Bowl in 2013, and they could not have been more accommodating.  The room I stayed in was clean and nice.  The staff really tried to make everyone in my group feel at home.  The manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy.   I recommend this hotel if you want to get out of the crazy French Quarter madness and have a relaxing stay in New Orleans.

Not a good sign when the first thing you see when you enter your hotel room, is a cockroach scampering under your bed.  This hotel is connected to a hospital with an excellent reputation so I was expecting something at least a little like the Ritz Carlton next to the Cleveland Clinic.  Instead there are stained carpets, stained floors, toilet and tub in the bathroom.  There is a mini fridge and microwave but I would recommend you not leave food where the roaches can get at it.  The best thing you can say about this place is it is directly connected to the hospital, very helpful for those with very ill family members.  BTW, they advertise a fitness center, but fail to mention it costs $5 a day to use.

The hotel is part of the hospital. The website didn't say anything about that. When we mentioned to them that this was deceptive advertising, they said well we aren't required by law to disclose that. Well I'm just saying that law or not they should let you know before you plan an entire vacation based on this place. Another thing us that they tell you they only have 3 rooms left... So that's why they wouldn't honor the original price we were quoted..well it's like a ghost town there's nobody here.. Also the website said breakfast included well there is no breakfast...there's like 3-4 cafeterias in the hospital but they are all shut down. I haven't seen them open them up once since I got here. The guy that checked us in was really nice and he could tell we were upset because its such a weird place hard to find and in a freaking hospital, he said he would cancel our reservations through hotels.com and waive the fees...but that's too late because there's nowhere else to stay because there's a  thing going on here and all the hotels are booked! This place would be fantastic for someone that needs to stay near a sick family member and for those that want a secret place that probably never gets booked up.. But if you are planning on making your wife happy on a vacation FORGET IT...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!' Don't say I didn't warn you...... There is one thing good to say though in all fairness it is a really clean room and they upgraded us to a better room because we were upset..although that raises a whole other question...they raised the cost if the room based on them being booked up but they had no problem upgrading our room and our friends room too...like I said before GHOST TOWN!  I would be on the lookout for their review on here too! They raised the price up for them $40 more than the quoted price. I know they will have a scathing review...if they hadn't been dishonest with their advertising I wouldn't have stayed here in the first place...but since they were and I did I now want this place to be honest!!  Like I said great for hospital convenience but bad for vacations...just be honest and let people make their own decisions about staying in a freaking HOSPITAL!!!!!!

If you're visiting a patient of the hospital, you want to stay here. You take the elevator down, walk over to the hospital elevators, and go up. Parking is adequate and there's no ticket punching and validating.

This is a quiet hotel. No one who's visiting a hospitalized relative is going to be whooping it up. The hallways are a little on the dark side and there is no luxury feel. You get what you need, a good, quiet, clean room to stay in. There is a nice atrium, however.

I'll stay here next time I'm in NO for a few, non-vacation days. $100 a night for a good quiet hotel is a bargain, better than rolling-the-dice on some other hotel and getting noisy neighbors.

The WIFI was very fast. You can stream Netflix on your device in HD, for example, but if you're bringing a Roku, you can't get past the html agreement. The WIFI extends all through the hotel and hospital without interruption.

We booked this hotel only as a package deal with a car. It was easy for us to find, centrally located for us to get everywhere we wanted to go. we had a little bit of a shock when we got there because the front of the hotel was under construction and a little bit of trouble finding parking to check in but were glad to find out we didnt have to pay for parking and it was in a garage. 4 stars for that! Check in was a breeze and the staff was extremely friendly! We didn't have a problem with it being part of a hospital. The rooms were clean and the pool was inviting with a jacuzzi which we used after walking the entire French Quarter more than 5 times and then going on 5 walking tours. If we got hurt what better place to be then a top ranked hospital in Louisiana. All in All it was exactly what we needed, a clean place to rest our heads, take an invigorating shower to get ready for another exciting day! We couldn't have asked for anything more!  I don't know about anyone else, but when I go on vacation, I don't want to stay in the hotel!!!

The Brent House is a great place to stay in NOLA and it seems like not too many people know this. It's not like it's out of the way of all the city happenings. The hotel is connected to the main Oschner Hospital on Jeff Hwy so it's literally just a few minutes drive from St Charles Ave, Carrollton Ave, or Magazine St via River Road

The hotel has over 130 rooms, a beautiful atrium, a small Elmwood gym, a barber/beauty shop, pool, and two food courts located within walking distance in the hospital. There is rarely a rowdy crowd staying here which is always a plus. Lots of ppl that stay here are family members of hospital patients or patients themselves so they are not staying in town to party. Parking is convenient in the attached garage down the hall from the hotel itself. The rooms are pretty nice and they have a few suites and junior suites on every floor. Rates are usually between $79-109. This is the place to go if hotel occupancy is full everywhere else. They almost always have rooms even during the busiest times in the city. The front desk staff is warm and welcoming. Rafael and Joycelynn are two of the nicest in the business.

Brent House you have been the go to spot for my friends whether it's during crazy busy Mardi Gras season, Jazzfest, Bayou Classic wknd, or just a random spur of the moment NOLA trip. We appreciate all the hospitality you have shown us through the years. You always come through for me and my friends. I kinda wanted to keep you to myself but I think I'll set you free. Enjoy life with all the new folks you meet in the future.

Well the first thing you realize when you pull up is that it is attached to a hospital. We booked on line and had no clue this was the case. Kinda sketch at night but on another note the room was really nice and the bed was comfortable. Room was pretty clean. This place is nice if you are visiting a patient in the hospital etc, but I don't think I would stay here again because we wanted more of the new Orelans experience & were not aware of this location. Something about spending the night In a hospital just kinda creeps me out.

Yes, this is part of a hospital, but the perks to that outweighed the negatives. First, free parking in a really safe garage! Second, a lounge downstairs with a wide variety of vending machines open 24 hours. Lastly, it is clean and well maintained. For the same price we were going to pay for a shady Econolodge, we got a classy room with a microwave, fridge, large tv, and granite bathroom vanity. The only con was that you have to take an elevator from the parking garage to the elevator, then walk to the hotel and take another elevator to your floor. I have to admit that it was enough of an inconvenience that we modified our plans to avoid going all the way to the hotel room and back to the car. Oh wait, one more con. The sheets are loud. I didn't know sheets had a sound until I slept on these. Every time my husband moved, the sheets made this sound like rubbing sheets of paper together. It woke him up the first night, and the second night it woke us both up.

Very convenient place to stay if you are here for a patient or working at the hospital.  I've now stayed here a total of about 9 weeks (I'm here for work a lot these days).  Make sure you ask for one of the remodeled rooms, since these are pretty nice with a large flat screen tv.

The rooms also have a microwave and a fridge.

Bathrooms are functional, toilets seem a bit on the low flush.

    Gym is lame.

The only place to eat in the hotel is at the connected hospital.  I would recommend you eat at Southport Cafe, which is at the other end of the hospital and not right next to the hotel.  But your best bet is to leave the hotel and go towards uptown or downtown.

I stayed at this hotel because of a heart procedure my daughter had to have done at Oshner. The Brent House is is a service of Oshner and connected to the hospital. It's very convenient if you are here for a patient. You can park free in the parking garage attached to the hotel/hospital so I was happy to see that. There is a small gym and even a little barber shop in the hotel. A nice green courtyard is sandwiched in the middle of the hotel. To eat, there are two available places. Both are actually in the hospital but are easily accessible. My only complaint was that the main cafe closed at 5pm. The food at the cafeterias were not gourmet by any means, but wasn't bad either. It's expensive to eat here though, but it still beats having to venture out. We stayed in a junior suite. It had a flatscreen, king bed, microwave, stove, fridge and single serve coffee pot. The bathroom had a jet tub. The room was rather small for a junior suite, but then again I wasn't expecting a five star visit from a hotel run by and attached to a hospital. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. (I just wish the bed sheets weren't paper thin)  The hotel overall showed some age but appeared real clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful during the stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Brent House if you have to be close to Oshner. I'd give the hotel itself three stars, but the service from the staff and location   (if you need to be near Oshner) makes the Brent House a much more desirable place to stay.
