This place is a hidden gem in New Orleans. It's technically in downtown but it's about a three-minute walk to the French Quarter, and you get a room that is bigger, cleaner, and cheaper than anything comparable in the French Quarter. The best thing about this place was definitely the staff. The guys who checked us in late at night were super friendly, the (free) breakfast staff in the morning were super helpful, and the guys who checked us out made us look forward to coming back.

They have parking if you have a car for about $14 dollars a day, which is half of what most of the hotels in the area charge. The room itself was about $70 a night and it had a mini-kitchen and king-size bed. Plus, free wifi!

I can't say enough about how great the service at this hotel is.  The staff is SUPER helpful - we booked last minute and were given a discount because they only had small rooms available.  The room was very clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable.  The location is great too - a quick walk to the French Quarter, but a good enough distance away to avoid all the traffic and hassle.  You gotta stay here!

Convenient to everything in the French Quarter. Very accommodating staff at the desk. Needed a fitness center (i.e. treadmill, elliptical) and got it. decent rooms for the price (3 guys passing through on a cross country road trip). No bugs anyhwere!

bonus - few blocks from the Commerce (breakfast/lunch spot) - EXCELLENT shrimp po' boy and service.

I wish that all hotels had a staff that was this kind and backed up by rooms and service on this level... all for a not crazy price.

Pros-
- Way less expensive than other hotels in the area
- Two blocks from Bourbon
- There's a hotel in the block between here and Bourbon so there are doormen outside on that block at night - making it feel safer to walk
- Super nice and helpful staff
-Clean!

Cons-
- Some traffic noise (but I doubt you can escape that anywhere near here)

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel!  I was skeptical at first.  I booked this room using my traveler points and I picked it because it was the least points that I needed to use.  I had read reviews and everything seemed ok.  We just needed a place to crash after a weekend of Jazz Fest.

From check-in to check-out was nothing but a good experience.  Stanley checked us in.  He is the general manager and was a delight to deal with and was also very helpful about transportation and other tourist info.  One thing that blew me away is that he remembered us the entire time we stayed.  Calling us by name and saying hello.

The room was clean and exactly what was needed.  The hotel is older, so there are not all of the newer hotel amenities like huge flat screens or fancy bathrooms, but if you are traveling to New Orleans, you don't need to be hanging out in your room!  This hotel is also in a great location at a mere 10 minute walk from the French Quarter.

I will say be a little careful when parking...there is a lot not associated with the hotel that is misleading.  I would recommend pulling up to the hotel and asking the front desk directions to the hotel parking garage!  I am not sure you could score a better hotel for the price and location!

I booked this hotel for my New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon trip back in 2/2009, for one night at $85.  The view from my room was bad and it was pretty depressing.  They didn't offer any breakfast for runners.  It was a cheap deal, but I don't recommend staying here although it was a close walk to the start line at the Super Dome.

My aunt, cousin, and I stayed here for 4 days while on our vacation in New Orleans.

This service at this place is amazing!  Everyone is really sweet, very informative, and willing to go above and beyond to help.  We are from Los Angeles and had no idea where we were going or what we were doing - they were always willing to give us directions and eating suggestions.  They helped us with taxis and airport shuttles and the cable cars.

The decor isn't up to date, but that doesn't really bother me because everything was always clean and functional.  You don't spend much time in the room anyway.

They had free breakfast.... which was OK in my opinion.  But personally, I'd rather go out to breakfast than eat in the hotel because of the crowded area.

I love how close this place is to the action of the French Quarter - but still far enough away that you can sleep without the music.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in late September. It was our first time in NOLA and was not sure what area was best, etc.  This was in a great location, just 5 minutes or less of a walk to the French Quarter and 3 minutes to the Canal and St. Charles Street "Street Cars".

The staff was extremely friendly and greeted you warmly.  The free breakfast was better than most and the rooms were clean and comfortable.  I highly recommend this place

This is my second visit to New Orleans & my second time at this hotel. When I come back I'll be back here again. Walking distance to everything you need, clean rooms, great AC & impeccable custumer service no matter what time of night! All I know is Chuck was my new orleans hero!!! Parking is tricky so best advice is park i front of the hotel, and let the front desk direct u to there parking lot. there is a parking lot directly next door & you assume it belongs to them but it doesnt! That parking lot is a robbery & noone staffs it! Our car.was stuck inside but good ol'Chuck saved the day, got us out and directed us to there parking lot! I found a new home in New Orleans & its with Chuck & the rest of the staff at the quality inn on okeefe!!

The Staff was wonderful! I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and the Staff here was one of the best. The room was spotless. The location could not have been better. The hotel is a short walk to the French Quarter. We especially liked the free breakfast that included: eggs,  sausage, cereal, toast, etc. We will definitely stay here again!!!!

So my boyfriend and I had a common story. We were planning a trip to New Orleans, and wanted to be by the French Quarter but didn't want to spend a lot of money or stay at a place with blood stains on the floor or some related horror story. Many internet reviews indicated that the Quality Inn would more than adequately fill our needs, so we booked a room.

This place definitely did the trick. Upon checking in, the front desk staff was super friendly. The lady taking our reservation presented us with a map of the area and highlighted places of interest. The manager greeted us warmly and we were upgraded from our queen room reservation into a king room. They went through a whole big deal of telling us about the upgrade, so I'm sure they do this for most people, but it was still a nice gesture.

The room itself was not particularly large, but clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit on the hard side, but I had no problem sleeping on it. My hair also got caught on the back of the hair dryer when I was using it, but this has happened at a few other hotels, so there must be a problem with the technique.

The location is very nice. It's just a short stroll to anything you'd want to see, but you're away from the madness, so you get a bit of peace and quiet. They offer a free breakfast, but we were never up early enough to check out the spread.

Overall, the price was right, and I'd be happy to stay here again.

Only a block off of the French Quarter, hospitality at the Quality Inn was above and beyond.  Hotel staff were always ready to assist you in anything, whether it was to hail a cab or to help choose a tour.  There was virtually no wait to check-in, check-out, leave luggage, or to ask a question.  Since the hotel is not in the French Quarter, it was a bit cheaper than other hotels.  The room I had was pretty small (expected since I wanted the cheapest room available) and the only window was in the bathroom.  However, I was not in New Orleans to just stay in a hotel.  The room was clean and was all I needed as I explored New Orleans.

This hotel is in walking distance to everything we wanted to visit. It was safe, secure and clean.  The breakfast was plentiful and good.  While we have stayed more luxurious hotels we have never stayed at a hotel with a nicer, more efficient and more  accommodating staff.  We will be returning to New Orleans next year and will definitely be staying at this hotel.   Bill H

Staff was off-the-charts helpful. Tried to sneak upstairs to fill my cooler on the way out but the whole front desk team (ok, just one guy) called me out, then took my cooler and filled it up in the kitchen. And put fruit in it.

And they upgraded our room. And they gave me a tip to get back to the interstate even faster than the street signs.

Offered a walking map and some recommendations in the French Quarter.

You could do a lot worse than the Quality Inn if you want to get close to the French Quarter even though it looks like an office building in an episode of "Mad Men" circa 1962. Hey, I don't mind non-ironic retro if it only costs me $99 per night. Jamie W. and I were able to get a two-room suite-let with two TVs, so he can watch CNN while I watch HGTV. Actually we were too busy eating out to spend much time in the hotel. It's a bit worn but clean, and there is the free breakfast where you have to wait for the waffle iron to free up.

But getting up before the 9:30AM "deadline" can be a challenge after a late night of po-boys and daiquiris. Free WiFi is a big plus, but parking costs you $14 per night. It's a valet service in a garage on the next block, where they screech the tires and expect a tip. But hey, Bourbon Street is only three blocks away. OK, not such an asset, but Deanie's Seafood and Brother's Food Mart are really close by. And oh yes, there's air-conditioning, a necessity during the hotter-than-Hades summer days of August. It's funny how the Web site mentions Tulane University Hospital and Clinic as a nearby attraction. For possible heatstroke, I imagine.

My boyfriend and I had a relaxing stay here. I can't say enough about how helpful and friendly the front desk was. They helped us with directions, storing our luggage after we checked out, and calling a cab for us. The weekend rates for the room were a little much for what it is, but it was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Be sure to check what you pay at the end because they were going to accidentally overcharge us. But again, the girl at the front desk was super nice and fixed it without any problems.

The breakfast is just meh, a standard continental breakfast. You can definitely find a better breakfast outside the hotel.

Location
--perfect, a 7 minute walk from Bourbon St. (3 blocks)
--far enough from craziness and close enough to the action.
--a 15-20 minute drive from airport

Overall
--friendly staff, impeccable rooms, free wifi and breakfast
--would definitely recommend this hotel
--not a fancy hotel but you get your money's worth

The hotel manager was awesome...  He got me in my room early which I really appreciate.  All the staff were pleasant.  I like the fact that the French Quarter is a very shot walk away.  We did have a plumbing issue but the staff took care of us without issue.

Despite getting in around midnight, Mr. Dada was super helpful and such a sweetheart. Got upgraded to a suite, just 'cuz. Loved that!

I really have nothing bad to say about this place. Great price, great location. The staff were always friendly & accommodating. The room was dope & clean. It was super close to the Canal Streetcar and the St. Charles Streetcar, as well as French Quarter, Bourbon St., the Riverwalk, Frenchmen St., etc. The bf and I walked everywhere. Frenchmen St. was the furthest we waked (about a mile and a half or so). All within reason.

The hotel offers breakfast, but we never got up in time for it. Lol.

Lots of local bars & restaurants nearby. Suggestions include: Cajun Mike's Pub & Grub,, Luke Restaurant, & Red Gravy. So good.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Quality Inn & Suites from October 11-15, 2014. Words cannot express how impressed we were with the service at this hotel! The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Every staff member made sure to say hello/enjoy your day each time we walked by, offered assistance with finding places, and made great suggestions on what to check out. We felt like they treated us like family/friends!

The room itself was very clean. We were upgraded to a Queen suite which was very spacious. There was a small kitchenette which came in handy as well.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay and if we ever return to New Orleans, we will be sure to stay here again.

Nice hotel to come to after a day out on French Quarter area. So close to everything
That it's in walking distance. Yeah the hotel is simple but in NOLA we just needed a quiet place to rest our heads after being out all day. The room was very comfy with mini fridge and microwave. Which was perfect for us. If your a picky person who expects top star stay else where. But if your simple wanting a clean quiet place to stay with free breakfast and firm beds. This is the place to stay and I must add the staff was really polite and helpful.

My friend and I stayed here recently over a long weekend for the 2015 Jazz Fest. First time in NOLA. Our room layout was perfect because it was like having 2 separate bedrooms with a bathroom/kitchenette in between. The location is walking distance to everything. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Due to horrible weather, my flight was canceled on the day I was supposed to leave. They let me have late checkout no problem and then gave me a huge discount when I needed to stay an extra night. As I was getting into the taxi for the airport, the manager came out to personally say goodbye. It felt like they really cared. Yes the place is in need of a facelift but it is clean and the people who work there make up for any aesthetic shortcomings.

At face value, the Quality Inn in New Orleans's CBD is a 4 star situation.  However, when taking other things into consideration, for its price point, it inches closer to 5 stars, so 5 stars it is!  The rate obtained was a AAA/CAA rate and it was evidently at a time when nothing pressing was going on in the city.

The location is good.  It is further out from Canal Street, not quite at Poydras Street going toward the Superdome, further up from all the highrises and expensive hotels close to the river, and not quite in the city hall or hospital area.  So, while not near anything of touristic import, except for the Canal Street streetcar a couple of blocks away, it is, by virtue of its position, convenient to everything.  If you want rambunctiousness outside the hotel front door or to be instantly reminded you're in New Orleans, this isn't that type of hotel.

From arrival to departure, everything was seamless.  The reception was professional and friendly in that informal, courteous, and straightforward New Orleans style.  They are more than happy to help out with "lay of the land" recommendations and suggestions and want guests to enjoy their stay with them and in the city.  The room itself was very functional.  I was able to get a room that looked out toward the street.  The room was "safe" and timeless in its appointments, with a sink/fridge/microwave, almost as if a mini kitchenette, and a code-operated safe, in addition to the typical vanity and an efficiently laid out bathroom.  The bed made for a good night's sleep.

The following morning began with their continental breakfast.  However, it's an upgraded continental breakfast.  A real continental breakfast, in the literal sense of the word, is for birds - basically coffee, tea, juices, and some pastries.  Here, there was a waffle maker, and the waffle maker was unique enough that I took a photo of it.  Also, they will hold your bags after check-out for a short while to tide you over until an evening flight.  And, they do it professionally, by tagging your luggage and giving you a tag to present to retrieve it.

After hunting and hunting on line for a hotel that made sense, I was glad to have found this Quality Inn in New Orleans.

My husband and I had a great experience there. They upgraded our room because we were staying for four nights, which was awesome. The front desk was extremely helpful with directions and things to do around New Orleans. The continental breakfast was better than most hotels. The noise level was a little loud---you could definitely hear the traffic outside on the streets, and we were on the 4th floor. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed here May 9-14, 2015.  We loved our stay.  The staff were great from the manager to the lobby staff, to the breakfast staff and room cleaners.  The hotel is well maintained and the rooms were so clean and it was just a great, great stay.  When we return this is where we will stay.  By the way the nightly rates were very reasonable. We recommend this to all.

This place has their act together.  The front desk team went above and beyond to insure we we were comfortable and anticipated our needs as tourists. We felt very lucky to find a reasonably priced room just blocks from the action.
The parking is a block off site, but was not an issue.
We regularly stay at Quality Inns, but this one is the best managed we have run across.

This place is awesome, especially for the price. The people at the front desk are super helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean, if a bit in need of some sprucing up, and comfortable. It is within easy walking distance of Canal Street, and I had no problems getting to a conference being held at the Marriott.

Small, practically insignificant complaints?

The pillows. What is with these tiny pillows crushed into tiny squares? Give me big and fluffy any day. And 200 thread count sheets aren't the most comfortable thing in the world, no matter how much the little "Q-quality" (or whatever it was) card claimed.

And the wi-fi is slow. Almost painfully so.
