Very nice place. Perfect downtown location. Right down the street from the Superdome. Two blocks from Harrah's Casino. This place is definitely where you want to stay when you come to New Orleans. There is a complimentary breakfast which includes, waffles, oatmeal, grits, eggs, sausage, breakfast burritos, fruit, yogurt, bagels...It's very nice. Not the usual continental breakfast. There's also complimentary coffee, soda and juice all day! Some afternoons there is a happy hour with complimentary wine and beer. The rooms are spacious with free wireless Internet. Full size fridge, stovetop. large microwave, sink, plenty of counter space. There's even a sofa bed! There is also a little convenient store in the lobby. All the staff is very friendly. I really liked it here. I definitely will be back!

we stayed here on a pro bono business trip (so we obviously  had a budget for our 16 person group) and we couldn't believe what a great hotel it was for such a reasonable group price! Plus, we had kitchenettes, and they have a light dinner and continental breakfast most days of the week.

Great for GROUPS, BUSINESS, and any other FUNCTIONAL needs.  nothing too romantic, though.

It's right downtown, and you can walk to frenchmen and bourbon streets if you go in a group (with men!)

TIP: Have fun practicing how to say the name of the street it's on! Chop-it-to-us? Chalupa-less? haha. might want to write it down so you get home okay. :)

The Staybridge is one of our regular hotels when we visit New Orleans. As far as the stay is concerned, I have absolutely no complaints. The property is wonderful & includes a full kitchen. My only grumble is that they have absolutely NO place to unload your card & getting your luggage to your room is quite a task. You literally have to unload your car in traffic onto a busy sidewalk. It's rough. So if you are travelling with kids or you have a lot of stuff, stay somewhere with bell service.

this place is highly recommended for those that want to party, but not necessarily stay in the middle of it.

We decided to take a road trip to New Orleans for New Years.  We decided late on a hotel (the week before) and got what we think is a good deal (for NYE) on hotwire ($136/nt before tax). Most other hotels were at $200/nt.  It is n the business district within good walking distance, to the French Quarter, Riverwalk, and Harrah's Casino - but outside the party zone just enough.   Hotel desk staff were very nice and accommodating, and were were able to check in a little early on arrival.  They helped us with parking next door, but it was little costly at $26 for the overnight lot.  But it was convenient and safe  They had a welcoming BBQ that night for all guests with beer, wine, burgers, dogs, potato salad a more for free.  On top of that, the morning breakfast was more than the typical continental breakfast in the morning, with eggs, oatmeal, sausage, waffles, etc.  However, both meals were jam-packed with guests and the wait it line was long as items ran out fast.  But we can't complain since it was free!  We also took a "tipsy" dip in their small outdoor heated pool, which was fun :)

Our room was spacious and clean.  It had a small, yet full-size kitchen, minus the oven, but did have a stove top.   We will definitely remember that for our next visit - we could stay longer with friends and do some light cooking. Comfy King with lots of pillows. Best part is, it was quiet and we got good sleep!  We were at the end of the hall near a stairwell even, but figure most people use the elevator.

Overall, it was a little on the high end for cost, but with a kitchenette, a couple of free meals, and a really clean hotel we are VERY HAPPY.  Loses a star for parking at $26/night - jeesh.

    We'll be back!

Do not trust your reservation is reserved. I booked my room 8 months ago and found out by letter 3 days before my arrival that I was bumped to a lesser hotel, blocks away from hotel, and to a smaller room.  Emailed and called the General Manager, no response. Customer service offered the bare minimum by way of accommodations.

I am sure they bumped us for a late reservation, higher rate. We were told absolutely nothing as to why we were bumped. Customer care stated, :yeah they do that". Who does that? In all my life, i have never been bumped from a hotel that has been reserved.

    Do not trust them.

I've stayed at several Staybridge Suites over the past year.  This one is really good, but there are a few things that make this a 4 star instead of a 5:

    1) I had to get my card key reswiped 4 times;
    2) You don't get replacement soap & shampoo unless you ask for it
    3) The fountain machines are turned off outside of reception/breakfast hours
    4) They made me realize that there is such a thing as "bad free beer"

    What's good:
    1g) Free breakfast
    2g) Free food/beer on Tues-Thurs
    3g) Free laundry service
4g) Fantastatic view of Loew's Hotel--I watched several folks gettin' their freak on in their bathrooms.
5g) Short walk to the French Quarter, Harrah's, and several restaurants

Let's just state the facts: super comfy beds, lots of room, lots of amenities, clean, and most of all complimentary AWESOME breakfast! I stayed at the W hotel right after this place and although W looked hip it wasn't as cool as the home feeling you will get at the Staybridge.

Good For: complimentary breakfast, comfy beds

They failed to honor a confirmed reservation, made months in advance.  Received two confirmations, the last two days before my trip.  When I got there, I found the room I had reserved had not been held for me, and I was placed in another room, which did not have the features I had requested.  Staff made no effort to adjust nor remedy the situation, simply said there was nothing they could do, and I had to accept whatever room they gave me.  When I checked out, one honest staff person said they knew they overbooked the type of room I wanted, but there was nothing the staff at the hotel could do about it, since it was the corporate website that was doing the deliberate overbooking.  Do not expect this hotel to honor your confirmed reservation, the confirmation means nothing.

    - 5 walking minutes away from Harrah's Casinos. Convenient spot for many attractions.
    - Free breakfast- eggs, waffles, fruit, cereal, toast, yogurt, etc.
    - Friendly staff.
    - Access to computers.
    - The room was wonderful. There is a kitchen and living room space. The bed was very comfy. It's perfect for spending many hours there after you have lost $$$ at Harrah's. Cry away in this amazing bed.

    - There were still trash leftover from the previous guest. I don't think it's that hard to dump it out.
    - The curtains were so odd. There are two layers- light, airy curtain and heavy duty curtain that is suppose to protect you from the sun. The heavy duty curtain is not movable and does not cover the entire window. Why is this important? I was so freakin' tired this morning and wanted my sleep but the damn sun woke me up. I got up to move the curtain but was surprised that I couldn't. I woke up at 7:10am and couldn't go back to sleep.
    - I loved the breakfast BUT my milk was spoiled. Gross.
    - Parking overnight is $25. I went to Harrah's and played penny slots for 30 minutes. If you play for 30 minutes using a Total Rewards card, Harrahs' will validate your parking for 24 hours.
    - $4 for one condom at the downstairs convenience store. Just sayin' if you're feeling frisky.

Decent hotel for the location and price. Newly remodeled, good breakfast and ok dinner. A few kinks,  though. First, only one of the two guest elevators worked during my stay.  Second, the refrigerator was not cold enough to use safely. Third, it took three calls to the hotel desk to get a form faxed to me prior to my stay. None of these things were dealbreakers and I would stay here again. Oh yeah, WiFi never worked and neither did the Ethernet port at the desk.

I still don't know how to pronounce the name of the street Staybridge Suites is on, but that's okay.

I came here as part of a Mardi Gras bachelorette party, and we booked two suite. There was plenty of space in the living room/kitchen/dining area for a big group of ladies to congregate, and each suite had 1 room with a king-sized bed, and another room with 2 double beds. The couch in the living room also folded out to accommodate more people needing some shut-eye. Both bedrooms are attached to their own bathrooms.

The staff was always courteous and helpful, even though I'm sure they deal with a lot of craziness and tipsy people. They also have toothbrushes on hand if you forgot yours at home.

Considering that it's complimentary, breakfast was fine, with hot oatmeal, eggs, sausage, bagels and toast, muffins, pound cake, fruit, a waffle station, and a variety of beverages on hand. The lounge area was pleasant and clean.

I like Staybridge's location relative to other area attractions--close enough to the action, but set back enough that you won't be kept awake by excessive noise from the streets.

Awesome place!  I didn't have to pay for it so I couldn't speak for price, but the location was great!  We were able to book the day of also!  Granted it was June 11th, but I told some of my New Orleans friends and they were surprised I was so close to the French Quarter for so late in reserving.

Lobby was clean and classy as well as the room.  The room we had was a nice double bed with an office table and couch.  There was also a small kitchen.

There was a dresser on the opposite wall of the bed that was perpendicular to the bed and the TV was on it so that was weird.  We just turned the TV of course, but it could have been laid out better.  Not that you'll stay in your room much in New Orleans!

Mother's Restaurant is across the street and the French Quarter is walking distance!  Recommended!

This is more of a 2.5 star experience.  It was a a pretty standard extended stay experience: the room was nice and clean, the bedding was very good quality, and the breakfast was passable fare.  I would say that the service was excellent - all of our experience with staff was courteous, prompt, and friendly.

It would have been a perfectly fine four star experience like the other Yelpers had, but they lose 1.5 - 2 stars for the following:

-for a period of about 36 hours, we had no hot water.  The MGMT was unable to tell us when it would come back on.  It seemed to be an ongoing issues.  If so, there should be some sort of disclaimer when booking, "There is a good chance that you will have to take a freezing-ass cold shower that will shrivel your manbits during your stay."  Something like that.

-The last two days, the main elevators were broken, so the entire 18 floor building was being serviced by a slow-ass service elevator.  A twenty minute commute just to get to the lobby?!  It made me feel like I was back in SoCal.

In a nutshell, if you can manage to avoid issues like the above, you should have a rather pleasant experience here.  If not, it will put a major damper on your stay.

I was extremely pleased with Staybridge Suites.  This is a really nice hotel with a convenient location right outside the French Quarter so that everything is within walking distance, but you are not surrounded by the rowdy night life.

The room was very spacious and we fit 4 people into one room. When we walked in, I ooed and aahed at our lovely little kitchen and big living room. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils and even a small container of dish soap. The bedroom had two queen beds and there was a tv both inside the bedroom and outside in the living room. And there was also FREE wifi! And there was also two packets of complimentary coffee and popcorn. I felt like a little kid receiving a bunch of gifts :) Additionally, the room was nice and clean and everything seemed to be in good condition.

They had complimentary breakfast in the mornings, which I thought would just be your standard continental with cereal and some muffins, but there were actually eggs, a waffle maker, oatmeal and fruit.
They also had juice, coffee and tea. They told us it was open from 7:30-10:30 am, but when I walked in on Monday morning at 9:30, they had just closed. I was pretty disappointed! Maybe the 10:30 closing is just for weekends.

There were other great amenities that I did not use such as a pool, fitness center and a business center. For about $50/person a night, this was a STEAL.

4.5 stars!  If you've noticed my string of NOLA reviews, I've given almost all 4.5 stars, because they are all just THAT GREAT :)

Free breakfast (make your own waffles, egg, meat, breads, etc), free wi-fi, free business center where you can print your boarding passes, small pool, fitness room (that I didn't visit even though I should've after all the food in NOLA), kitchenette with microwave, stove, full size fridge.... there really is NOTHING to dislike about Staybridge.

Price was great too... I think we paid around $100/night.  Two blocks from Harrah's, across the street from Mother's, 10 minute walk to Cafe du Monde.  You cannot get any better than this!!!

stayed here for four nights, so this review is well informed. the place met and maybe even exceeded my expectations. this place was pretty much the best priced hotel in/near the french quarter that wasn't like ... the motel 6 or something. it's also part of the IHG fam, which to me gives it a quality boost.

anyway, location. location was good. 5 minute walk to Canal street for shopping and 10 min walk max to the quarter. also verrrry close to the streetcar lines, which is good.

amenities. my girls and i stayed in a studio suite i think they call it. i was really impressed with the offerings -- two double beds, plus a pull out sofa bed, and a nicely sized kitchenette. nothing extravagant i suppose, but def exceeded the bare minimum. also had free wifi, although it kept booting me off every couple of hours, which meant i was consistently logging back in.

breakfast. they def do have free breakfast, but other than being free, it's nothing to rave about. i swear they use egg beaters or something for their eggs... had a weird look and texture. on the other hand, the oatmeal was delicious!! this is what i had most of the time. they also have one of those waffle makers, which some people went crazy over. it's also across the street from Mother's which serves better breakfast for a reasonable rate if you're into alternatives.

overall, i would stay here again because the value for the price is not bad. but this is not the W... wherever, whenever is not their slogan. this place is more about going a little beyond the basics to ensure you a pleasant stay in NOLA.

Stayed here for 2 weeks while I waited for my new apartment to be ready. Overall I had a good experience but a few things stuck out as negatives:
    1) The side entrance was broken my entire stay and management has no intention of repairing. It seemed minor at first but given the number of sketchy people/bums in the vicinity I would've liked to been able to get inside faster. Being a small girl I often felt unsafe walking from my car to the front entrance.
    2) They advertise parking but the lot is always full, I wasn't able to use it even once.
    3) Housekeeping mistakenly took a monogrammed towel given to me by my recently deceased father. I spoke to every manager on site and not once was I offered an apology nor was my towel located. I actually received a few snide comments because of how many times I inquired; clearly the reactions of people who have never lost a parent. I left messages for management that were never returned.
    4) The breakfast was constantly running out of items. They only had lids for coffee cups 3 or 4 times during my stay! They consistently ran out of the containers for the "to go" breakfast as well.
    5) They changed my room key 4 times during my stay! I have no idea why, front desk explained "it just happens." Very frustrating when carrying groceries....

Although the location is great, this hotel is lacking in amenities and comfort. While staying there for three nights, the fire alarm went off two out of the three nights due to fires starting in the suites. We were evacuated both times in the middle of the night. There is no restaurant and the breakfast is mediocre. The 24 hour pantry where you could buy snacks was completely out of alcohol the entire weekend, which was disappointing since there were torrential down pours. My bathroom sink area had tiny ants crawling around. When heading to New Orleans, stay away from the Staybridge Suites!

    This place is awesome.

Great location, very central to everything that most people come to NOLA for. Free breakfast, and free dinner (with free beer and wine!) from 5:30-7:30. Friendly staff, excellent rooms (with full kitchen to boot!). Free wifi as well.

I was put up at Staybridge for a work trip.  Unfortunately, I was only in town 2 days, so Staybridge didn't get a chance to shine for me.  I've been at another Staybridge for a week at a time, and it's always nice to have a fridge and a coffeemaker and everything else for that long.  But for 2 days, I was happy to have such a spacious room that made me feel a little less claustrophobic than other hotels.  And the location was perfect for my purposes.

The worst experience. Under staffed, Ill-equipped, indifferent guest service, no coffee one morning, sewage backup in room, bare-chested guest at breakfast, no plates, don't make up rooms on weekends, orange juice out, cold food at breakfast, and no forks. Feels more like a homeless shelter or bus station. Spend more and stay elsewhere.

We arrived last night. Room is large clean and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect truly within walking distance to almost all major hot spots, restaurants, and sites.

The an entities however could use a little updating. When one looks at the staybridge website images if prescribe gym facilities and an amazing patio style pool arise which must be general stock images from their franchise.

The gym has a recumbent bike, moderate treadmill, and a faulty elliptical along with an old school all in one weight machine.

I'm very thankful for the facilities and love the fact that the hotel itself is very quiet. Just think that some upgrades could be beneficial.

    But I'd stay here again.

We've been here for 3 of a 6 night stay. One demerit for the WiFi being down for 2 of the 3. That freaked us out since we depend on our tech toys to stay connected to family & friends. It's up now so we are recovering. :-)

This is the location if you plan to come for Mardi Gras. All the uptown parades come right in front of the hotel. There is a phone App, of course, to track the parades. The lobby is locked during the parades and you must use your key to enter. This is a safety precaution & I appreciate it. The streets will also shut down for parades so get where you want to be about 2 hours before a parade starts and plan to be there for 1- 2 hours. Taxis drop clients off in the street with their luggage when the traffic gets to bad.

Staybridge is near the casino and the 3 trolley lines. From the trolley most of the other touristy stuff is reachable. There is a taxi stand at the casino, 1 block away.

The suites are large and the furniture is functional. Nothing fancy or over plush. Clean. Nice but not elaborate breakfast. A nice, albeit small patio. A nice spot to read a book if the smokers do not run you away. The hotel is 100% none smoking so the patio is smokers heaven, apparently.

I would stay here again and hope the WiFi works. The friendly staff is a plus.

Two problems we had there:  1.  For the first two days we were there, the hot water was lukewarm at best.  After we complained about this, they sent an "engineer" up who fixed it and then we had hot water.  2.  The air conditioner in our room was making a sound that sounded like an adjoining room had their water running (and it was loud) ALL the time.  Constantly.  We complained about this and we were told that it's normal.  For the price at this location I still give the hotel four stars.
The location is GREAT if you're in NOLA to attend a meeting downtown OR if you are a tourist who wants to hit the quarter.  If you're a tourist, you can walk down to the Hilton about two blocks away, jump on a street car, and take it straight to wherever you want to go in the quarter!  The first day we were there, we took the street car to the end of the line, which is on the far end of the French quarter, and worked our way back on foot.
The room was large and well furnished.  Very tasteful, with festive, contemporary art on the wall and a full kitchen.   Free WiFi.  They serve a hot breakfast every morning to their guests, including a waffle bar where you can put fresh fruit in your waffle.  Some of the items on the breakfast bar were just "okay," but for the most part it was good, and much better than other hotels' continental breakfast.  Other reviewers were complaining about the hotel staff being discourteous, but that was not my experience at all.  I found them to be helpful and friendly.
I'd stay there again in a second!

I had never stayed at a Staybridge property. I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express - their sister properties. But, due to the need of the location, I selected this hotel. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! We were upgraded into a HUGE room that is larger than many people's apartments. We had two bedrooms, three beds (1 king in one room and 2 queens in the other bedroom). Large kitchen with full-size refrigerator, dining room, office, living room, 3 flat-screen TVs.
They serve breakfast and dinner, too (with beer and wine) - all included with the price of your stay.
If I have one negative thing to say it's that it costs $$ to park :-(
    But, very nice, clean property.

He would get mad and tell the staff to" treat them the way they wanted to be treated "

To begin, the staff could not be nicer. Everyone who works here makes an effort to be helpful and gracious. Whoever does their staff training should be commended.  Good service makes up for many other faults.
Location-- a little off the beaten path. But if you don't mind walking a bit, it's not much of a problem.  Probably a five to ten minute walk from the two main trolley lines.
Amenities-- free breakfast was basic canned fruit and make yourself waffles with very long lines. We skipped and grabbed starbucks down the street.
Hotel room was clean and utilitarian. Bathroom again clean and utilitarian. Nothing fancy. They do NOT clean rooms on weekends or even bring towels unless you request them. This is a little bizarre to me based on the room rate.
Not quite sure if we would stay here again. Would probably pay a little more and stay closer to the trolley line and get a nicer room.

I've stayed at many extended-stay suite-style hotels for work, but please note that this hotel should NOT be used by business travelers.  It's loud, kids are crawling everywhere, there's a line 5 people deep of vacationers waiting to use the one functioning toaster, and the two elevators take FOREVER to climb up and down the 18 floors.  On the 16th floor, internet was only available if the breeze was blowing the right way.  Strange that they would put a platinum member all the way up there if this was the case.  Unfortunately I didn't have time during my conference to request a room change, so I just did all of my internet work at the conference center.

The only real plus was the breakfast.  Lots of fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, sausages, etc - plenty of options available AND hot sauces.

If you're here for a conference, spend a little extra money and get a hotel closer to where you'll be doing business.

Good location. Very walkable. Staff was very friendly. Room was large and clean. Breakfast in the morning was also good.

now finally called over 10 times in the past 3 weeks.  I left my number over 5 times, and still no call back whether they found it or not.  Just talked with Monique (receptionist - the only person who seems to care) and Deon (manager).  Again, i was on hold for 20 minutes.  Let's see if anyone can call back to say they have found it or not.  Took another star because this is becoming rediculous
I stayed here 2 weeks ago and have been calling since the next day I checked out.  I think i left something in the room, but no one seem to verify if they found it or not.  I called, left messages at least 4 times.  I called again today and talked with front desk person with a bit of an attitude.  she told me to leave a message with "Lisa" again or call back in the morning.  I told her i called and left messages and she said "keep calling back until she picks up the phone" because "she cannot help me"
    ------------ original review-----------------
The hotel wasnt too bad, room was nice-ish, very convenient location.
the place was crowded with people and kids - getting breakfast was rediculous.  There was a line for the waffle machine (at least 5 people) and it was really messy with all the people in and out, no table to use.
there is no parking in the hotel, it is $30 a day to park across the street, which is $1.50 cheaper if you go there and park it yourself.  The hotel charges you $1.50 more for the "convenience" of charging it on the incidentals.
the staff was just a bit indifferent, nothing more nothing less.
Probably one of the smallest, dirtiest, busiest, and noisiest Staybridge I ever stayed at.  I am giving it a 3 stars.

Room looked decent....but, room was not clean.
The night manager has a strange attitude.... refused to open front door while three guest stood there with heavy bags...while playing with phone 2 feet away. Wierd!  Then, go to the room that wasn't cleaned by housekeepers even though personally spoke to housekeeper twice before leaving for day. Again WEIRD.

PASS on this hotel. Embassy suites just down street...and I've personally stayed at the Marriott on Canal st....much better experience for same price.

I like a bargain. And that's what this hotel is. Hotels in the French Quarter are pricey and this was slightly outside (like 2 blocks) but still affordable. The rooms are huge and have a separate kitchen area which is great for storing all those delicious New Orleans leftovers. Usually hotels offer a continental breakfast but we got a full breakfast buffet. There was even a pancake station! It's not fancy, but its New Orleans so you shouldn't be staying in your hotel anyway. The staff was great including Dean (I think that was his name) who was very helpful and went out of his way to help us out.

My only beef is that the housekeepers never cleaned our room! We could have complained about it, but honestly half the time I don't care because I don't want them in my stuff. But I would definitely stay here again.
