I stayed here with a group doing a Habitat for Humanity project for a week and although it's not in a great part of town, I found this hotel to be just fine. It doesn't have many frills, but the rooms are clean and they do serve a continental breakfast every morning which is nice. The staff are helpful and in the rooms, I could not hear any outside noise even though it is located right off the highway. It's only a 10-12 minute drive to the French Quarter which was convenient as well. I think it would be hard to beat the price that we paid so if you're looking for a budget hotel that is dependable, I'd recommend it!

As soon as I got off the freeway, and into the neighborhood, I was nervous about staying at the hotel. I had a horrible head ache and didn't want to drive any further, I especially didn't want to be an hour from downtown. So, I pulled in to see if they had a room. They had 2 double beds. No big deal. It ended up being 10 minutes from downtown, they served a free breakfast in the morning, and even though the hotel was in a bad neighborhood, I felt safe staying there. The parking got bad at night, and they have this parking way in the back where I was nervous to park the car, but it was fine. The hotel rooms have no windows, which was not a big deal either because it blocked the noise of the near by freeway. The hotel also had an indoor pool. I will plan on staying here every time I come visit new orleans. It was affordable, clean, safe, and close to downtown without the huge hotel price tag.

Clean, comfortable, well-run and conveniently located.  A fine place to stay and a great value too.  Free wi-fi, free parking, free breakfast.  As for the neighborhood -- I stayed here years ago and it's actually much improved these days.  I wouldn't go for any midnight strolls, but it's really not so bad.

You get what you pay for. Okay if you are just looking for a place to rest your head, but be careful . The bathroom was dirty and they do not change the sheets everyday, they just straighten it. As I was packing up to leave I saw one baby roach.

As the other reviews say, this motel is just right for the price you pay. The surroundings are not pleasant, but all the hotel, and the pool are built in a way you won't see it from any windows. The bad part is that there is no window towards the outside, and the result is that the bedrooms and breakfast room are very dark.
    Clean and calm place, though.

I stayed here for a week while visiting New Orleans for pleasure.

    Pros:
    -Cheap
    -Safe
    -Free, high-quality wi-fi

    Cons:
-Not walking distance to city attractions. Must pay for rental car, taxi, or take the bus (which was terrible).
-Noisy. Hotel is right next to the interstate (look at Google Maps if you don't believe me), and the traffic noises can be heard in the rooms, even at night. The maids also wheel big carts up and down the hallways starting early in the morning, which makes a lot of noise.
-Hard beds and neck-breaking thick pillows
-Bad breakfast. Long lines and a very monotonous/low quality menu.
-Neighborhood right around hotel is very ugly and dangerous.

    Final notes:
-This hotel would be a much better value if they had a free shuttle van to take guests into the city. Even if it only ran once every two hours, it would be worth it.
-A couple hundred bucks to install extra waffle makers and beverage machines would cut down the breakfast lines and make it not such an ordeal.
-I wouldn't stay here again unless the management made significant improvements. (i.e. - More comfortable beds, free shuttle, better breakfast, better soundproofing in rooms) My sleep quality was bad, and it was a hassle getting into the city from the hotel.

This super 8 is by far the best super 8 I have ever stayed at. They have a really big breakfast (waffles, toast, cereal, pastries, fruit), the rooms are spacey, the common areas are nicely decorated and cozy and the staff is extremely friendly. The area is not the best, but if you have a car you are definitely fine.

No, this is not a super fantastic part of town, but it seemed safe. No, this is not a super deluxe hotel, but it's clean, affordable, and the staff are friendly. No, they don't have an extensive menu of room service or huge breakfast buffet, but they do offer a free meal of breads, pastries, and cereals every morning.

If you are looking for a fancier hotel that's near all the action, you may want to consider staying somewhere else. But considering this motel is situated near a highway (though you couldn't tell from inside your room), the cleanliness, and the price, it's well worth it to stay here and make that drive into town. I mean, it's only 10 minutes away anyways.

Good value, comfortable and clean, friendly staff.  Not a place for you if you want an upscale neighborhood and lodging, but it's fine if you just want a clean, basic place to stay.  Free parking, free breakfast, free wi fi.  They also have a small fitness room and a pool.  Reception desk employee was very friendly at check-in.  Our maid, Ms. Cathy, left us a cute note thanking us for being "clean people".

Food: Breakfast wasn't anything fancy (frosted flakes, raisin bran, toast with jam or butter, waffles and syrup or butter, juice, coffee, pastries, and some yogurt), but was ok for getting something in your stomach.

Room: Bed was firm but not hard.  Pillows were ok.  Room was clean.  Microwave oven, fridge, TV, coffee maker included in our room (king bed deluxe).  Bathroom was basic but clean and in good condition.  It was pretty quiet and we were able to get a good rest.  Our room was one room away from the elevator, so that also helped it be quiet.  I saw someone else's review saying that their room had no windows.  Our room had a window looking out the front of the motel.  Maybe that's because we had a king "deluxe" room?

Plenty of free parking (they give you a paper permit).  You'll have to drive to the French Quarters or just about any other tourist attraction, but you'll still save money overall since this place is much cheaper than the places over in the French Quarter (and much quieter too probably).  It is sort of a pain driving into the French Quarter because of the traffic, at least it was over this past Thanksgiving weekend, but maybe it was unusually crowded because of holiday vacationers and people coming for the annual Bayou Classic football game.

Would stay here again to save some money.

Super 8 was really SUPER! I think that it was the best deal we got in US during this trip!

The room was extremely clean, tidy and was nicely decorated. We also enjoyed the breakfast a lot. The personnel was friendly, too. The place also had an own security guard.

The only minus was that the pool didn't open at 10 in the morning as it was meant to - and therefore we didn't have a chance to take our last drop in the water before heading to Texas! Too bad, 'cause the sun was hothothothothot!

Thank goodness for Yelp!  My friend and I decided on a last minute get a way to New Orleans.  Little did we know some neuroscience conference was going on so every mo-fo hotel was booked.  This is the closest hotel I could find that wasn't over $200 a night, or booked solid.

The reviews were good on Yelp and on hotels.com so I booked a room.  It's just like everyone said, in a weird neighborhood, kind of old, but fine.  And a $20 cab ride to Bourbon Street.  The only complaint I would have is housekeeping has no regard for the do not disturb sign on your door, and won't even listen when you say come back later.  They walked in on us two out of our four days.  But the two people we encountered working the front desk were so great and friendly.

I would not go out of my way to stay here again, but if I found myself in the same situation with nowhere else to stay I certainly would come here again.  It's cheap with free wifi, and free continental breakfast each morning.

The AC was super noisy and the room did not have a window! !!
Can you believe it for $60 a night and old room with no window on the second floor and a super noisy A.C. which doesn't let you sleep..

    Cheap, Clean, and Safe!

Angela, the Front Desk Agent was super nice and was very welcoming. Free breakfast is also included. And just one bus ride to connect to street car to take you to the French Quarter or the Garden District.

This place exceeded well beyond my expectations. First, it's not in the greatest of areas, but once you get over the location everything else is a go. I came down for a wedding and without my knowledge during two festivals so pretty much all hotels were booked. I initially hesitated booking, but thanks to a discount offered through my job, I said why not? Lol. I was able to get a double room which was remodeled and looks very modern. Secondly, I didn't hear a thing!!! It's right by the highway, but I had no noise complaints whatsoever. I slept like a baby. And lastly, the ladies working the front desk are amazing!! Especially Angela, please give her a raise, a promotion, something!!!! She was very accommodating and bubbly.

I was planning our first trip to New Orleans and wanted to stay outside the a French Quarter. This place fit the bill with their pricing and amenities. Our room was clean and they had some nice supersized New Orleans  photos on the wall. One thing about the room I didn't like was even though it was non smoking there was a hint of it. Most likely from the floors below. We stayed on the third floor. Also in order to let light in you have to open your curtains but hello! Everyone can see you! They need sheer curtains as well to allow privacy while letting light in. The rooms were dark for this reason. Their Continental breakfast was alright but hey its included! When we first arrived I felt the area was a little sketch but it ended up being not that bad after all. We stayed here for three nights and had no problems. They have covered parking which is also nice since it rained one night and day we were there. If you come later though at night you may miss out and need to park in the back which is uncovered. The front desk clerks were nice as well. I give them a solid B.
