Just what we were looking for!  The room was clean and had a small fridge.  The bed were comfy.  It is about 1 block from a T stop.

My friends stayed here while visiting from Ireland. The rate was good ($99 a night) and the location decent as they wanted to be near my place in Brighton. The room was huge, and clean, it also has its own kitchen. Very handy for quick meals. Easy parking. It aint the Ritz but it was definitely a decent, quiet, clean place to stay.

My parents stayed here the last time they visited from CT. It's not fancy but it has everything you'll need.

There's free wifi, free parking and free breakfast. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and included and fridge, huge closet, and king bed. For the cost on a Saturday night ($169.00) it was well worth the price.

I do not recommend this hotel. Location is not great. You are close to the T but not near much. I think my bad experience was related to the staff. Customer service is poor. I felt like I was getting rushed out of the hotel even after calling in the night before to ask for a late check out and getting the okay on it. I had 3 knocks and one phone call before 11am asking when I was going to check out. Front desk girl managed to take two personal phone calls from her bf and dad while I was in the lobby waiting for a room to become available. Two good things about this hotel is that it's super close to Boston College. However, I would pay extra to stay further away but have a better experience. Another positive is that they were able to get me into a room earlier than expected

The bathroom was stocked with Neutrogena products - alright! I was expecting Kmart's no-brand brand - and we had access to all important cable channels: Mtv, Vh1, and HBO! Not even the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills had this! Additionally, the main lobby is equipped with a desk top computer with free internet access to it's guests, so you know I was checking Yelp even as I was away from home.

I've never stayed at a Best Western, but I knew not to expect the Ritz Carlton. With the bar set low - as well as having scored a sweet price on Priceline.com - I was very pleased with this BW property. The room was clean, but I'd recommend housekeeping to crack open a window in the bathrooms; it smelled a bit stale in there. Not bad, just, stale.

Note: this Best Western is a few blocks from a trolly/bus stop, but it's a $25 one-way taxi ride to Faneuil Hall where you'll find most of Boston's nightlife.

Very convenient location, but they know it and their rates reflect it.  Very, very high pricing for the type of motel.  Nothing special about the rooms--the bathroom counters are built for midgets (and I'm only 5'2").  They are generally clean, but the carpeting needs to be replaced--it's pretty gross. The rooms do have microwaves and small refrigerators, so that's a plus.  Breakfast is a really pleasant surprise, with a decent variety of options.

I stayed here this past weekend while visiting my little brother at BU. The hotel was easy to find, however it's a pretty bare bones hotel. The room was small but clean. They offer free wifi in some of the rooms and down in the lobby. The location was convenient since it's a short walk to a T stop.

I might upgrade to a better hotel the next time I visit Boston, but this had the best price in the area.

Loved this hotel... It was charming and had a small-town feel. The bed and pillows were super-comfortable. And the complimentary breakfast was expansive. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting Boston.

I recommend it. Free parking in the city, on the subway line, free Wi Fi.
Above average value and location. It is a B W, so the size and decor of the rooms are predictable. It is clean, though.

The staff here was very helpful, gave me directions and suggestions on non touristy local type places to visit. They even let us leave our car in the parking lot all day the day we checked out! Five minute walk from a subway stop so great for going downtown! The rooms were okay except that there was a really loud sound coming from the other side of the wall. A loud rumbling, it would go off every hour (wasn't the AC or heat) and we couldn't figure it out but it was tolerable. There are a ton of restaurants that deliver here too! We ordered salad and pizza at one in the morning and it was great! Free wifi and free parking! Great deal and GREAT place to stay if you're coming to boston and won't be at your hotel very much.

I chose this hotel for its price and proximity to transit in getting to Boston College.  I don't mind Best Westerns --free parking and breakfast and internet.

But this one is subpar.  Really not in a location convenient to anything other than transit, strange layout, problems with check-in despite confirming a late arrival, heat only intermittently works, a weird bug on my bed (this was not a bed bug or a roach, but not pleasant either), and generally sort of run down.

It's functional, but I'd recommend either paying a bit more or staying someplace more central to... something.

If you want smelly, worn out, semi-clean rooms, this is the place for you. In addition, you'll get clueless front desk representatives. As an additional bonus at no extra charge, you'll get to hear the conversations of all the people around you, and you'll be able to trace the steps of the people above you.

This is not a great deal unless you are homeless and they offer you a free room for a night.

For $50 more I would prefer a hotel with a more central location and better accommodations all the way around. The biggest mistake of our trip to Boston was staying here.

The best thing about this place, besides being able to  leave the next day, is that there is a free breakfast and a printer to print out your boarding pass before heading to the airport.

I have to give this place 5 stars. The rates were reasonable compared to everywhere else in the area, the room was very clean. Also, in the morning you get an all-you-can eat hot breakfast. When we come to visit again, we will try and stay here. The Best Western staff was also very friendly. Keep the good work up.

My son lives in the area so I stay at this hotel whenever I visit (4 times so far).  The hotel is normally clean and quiet and the front desk staff is friendly and efficient.  It's located within walking distance of the train station, restaurants, Whole Foods and 7-Eleven.  The free parking lot is clean and well lit.   This hotel is decent and clean but a bit over priced.  You can find hotels downtown for the same prices, but like I said, I stay here because it's conveniently located to my son's apartment and i will continue doing so in the future.

-they had a room ready for me at 10am, when check-in is normally at 3
-big room with a king sized bed
-microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker
-one block away from the T (green line)
-free wi-fi
-free breakfast

a great place to stay if you don't mind taking time to make your way into downtown. besides, the further you are from downtown the less it'll cost you!

Upon arrival I felt that my room was rather warm. It was a warmer winter day and I had a meeting to run to, so I left, and decided to deal with my 80 degree room when I returned. Unfortunately, after 30+ minutes with the nice maintenance man, the air in my room still wouldn't work, and kept blowing out warm air. He left, and never returned. The front desk told me that every other room would be the same way so there was no reason to bother changing rooms. No apologies, no discount, just a sweaty night and a prayer for morning. I do not plan on staying here again as I am willing to pay more for better experience at another hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located near public transportation, a great price for Boston, and very close to BC as well as the great shops & restaurants on Beacon Street.

My experience here was tainted by the fact that I discovered several bugs in my hotel room (beetles in the linens, shower, etc) and found the room to be overall not in great condition.  I asked to switch to another room but they were all booked up for the night- it's a popular place!  However, the front desk manager I spoke to in the morning was very friendly and immediately refunded the price of my room.  I really appreciated her helpfulness.

Overall, this is a good option if you're on a budget and not expecting a luxury hotel.  The staff's responsiveness to my problem with the room was very reassuring.

This is an easy 5 star for me!

The rates here are awesome! They offer a lot for their price. Comfy bed, flat screen TV, free WiFi, Breakfast in the morning, frig and even computers in their main offices that you can use for free! Did I mention FREE off street parking?! (They also have AAA rates too!)

The service here is easy as well. Quick check in and and even quicker check out! Room service did a great job with cleaning the room both nights that we had stayed for. Very friendly staff!

Near the hotel you can just hop onto the green line! Makes getting into the city simple. T passes can be bought at the seven eleven near by!

So I have no complaints here at all! Its a great cheap place to stay. You cant go wrong here thats for sure!

Just spent the weekend in Boston for an annual event/national meet up.  The Best Western University Hotel hosted our group and everything was perfect! The staff was friendly and helpful, free wi-fi, nice/clean rooms, ample parking, free breakfast, great location - what else can you ask for?! Thank you Best Western for being a part of a great weekend.

I arrived at the Best Western University late around 9pm.  The stairs to the front office were not cleared of snow and ice thoroughly, causing a hazard.  No one was at the front desk.  I waited at least 5 minutes.  When the young man came in, he informed me that the 2 double-bedded room I had confirmed on the Best Western website was unavailable.  I agreed to a king-bed room, was offered one on the opposite side of the campus but chose one on the same side as the office.  Again the snow and ice had not been thoroughly cleared from the walkways and stairs on the way to the room.  I found the exterior walkway and stair design difficult to navigate in the dark.  Room 527 had been renovated and looked fine when I entered it.

But first the TV did not work.  I checked the batteries in the remote.  Held the power button down for longer.  Nothing.

Then the lighting at the desk was very dim.  Had to add one of the bedside lamps to the desk to be able to see my work.

The heat really never came up in the room.  It was 19 degrees outside and the door of the room opened to the outside.  The walls were cold.  Again raised the temperature on the radiator thermostat and no warm breeze ever came out of the radiator or any vent in the room.  It was very cold in the room all night.  I ran the hair dryer for two hours the next morning in the room to take the edge off the cold and to warm up the bathroom.

During my shower the next morning, the hot water came up but disappeared in the middle of the shower.   I really needed a hot shower since there had not been enough heat in the room the night before.

All in all not a success - would not recommend this place.

When I checked out the next morning the hotel offered and gave me a complete refund for my stay.

This hotel is very covenant to Boston College. That us the best part of it. The room is small and the bathroom door does not close. The lady at the front desk was nice and actually had to change out a part in our air conditioner because it was only blowing hot air! Unusual. I could go in, but I would say only stay here if you had no other real choice.

For a mid-range hotel, this Best Western is excellent overall. We did have air conditioning problems during part of our stay, but they came to fix it right away. However, the employee was not knowledgeable about how to put the air conditioning unit's lid back on, and it leaked all over the carpet all night.
The rest of our stay was mostly great. The breakfasts were good, and they included bacon, muffins, do-it-yourself waffles, an assortment of juices and delicious coffee.
The staff was a little scarce on Saturday, but they were all very nice, helpful, and polite. They knew all of the bus and train routes, so we could get around Boston. Best Western University is right on the B Green Line, so it's very conveniently located.
Overall, I highly recommend Best Western University Boston for a nice, convenient, inexpensive stay.

Generally dirty and dated. We came in very late on a cold night, and the room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned after the last guest. Beds were made, but there was a beer can, some food, and towels on the ground. Not sure how it happened. Crumbs everywhere, not vacuumed. Because it was the middle of the night, we couldn't get anything done about it.
WIFI is OK, breakfast is OK.
Heater was ok. Bathroom was very dated and a tiny bit scary. The toilet seat that they put on the toilet was made for a much bigger toilet so the rim of the toilet overlapped on the inside by a few inches... kinda weird. Beds were not incredibly comfortable but definitely manageable. People upstairs stomped all night, only God knows why. They would like run around then open the door then go to the window and back and forth all night, perhaps children were in that room.
Definitely just a standard motel. Not as nice as other Best Westerns. A tiny bit overpriced.
But, when you're visiting Boston College last minute, there aren't really many other options.
Staff is nice, but not incredibly intelligent.

Really in need of an upgrade/renovation for the interior.

Location - close to T and BC.
Breakfast, wifi, parking included at no extra charge.
Fridge, microwave in all rooms
Reasonably quiet location off Comm Ave.
Exterior renovation is nice.
Staff generally helpful.

Rooms really need to be re-done/ upgraded.
Damp feeling room/carpet, bathroom door falling apart, poor layout in bath.
Exterior lighting good for safety but no blackout curtains so light shines in room all night.(the rooms all have exterior doors i.e. Motel not Hotel.)

FYI - The BW Rewards program is pretty poor overall. As a top level (Diamond) member you get very little (Upgrades if avail, extra points, snack). At this property there did not appear to be any 'upgrade' rooms. The 'snack' was a package of microwave popcorn and a small bottle of water.

I know this isn't the Waldorf but the door did not even close all the way and there was a terrible draft. The wind made it sound like someone was raping a cat.

We switched rooms and it was still pretty bad. The heat was not great and was the old, dial-in-the-blower type and not a newer wall-mounted thermostat which displayed the temperature. Makes it kind of hard to gauge where to turn the dial.

Breakfast was pretty good and at least the place was clean.

We found our stay here disappointing.

Just the experienced facts:
We found the room damp and dated. Very poor bathroom water pressure.
Doors had to be "played with" to close properly. Outside soda vending machine was not accepting bills. Outside our room by the sidewalk the concerning faint smell of gas lingered (the front desk was notified). During our first night - around 1ish - someone knocked on our entrance door. We ignored - they left. Second night a bit more disturbing as loud knocking (again - 1sh) began against an inside door connected to an adjacent room. It quickly stopped but who needs this - especially at $200 a night?

Shame - as this hotel (really a motel) is close to loved ones we were visiting.

Update:  Both days I worked in my room during the morning and I left around 12:15, at which time I took the "Do not Disturb" sign off the door. The first day was Thanksgiving and the cleaning crew worked until noon only.  Good, but I hadn't been informed of that when I checked in.  The following day was a normal work day, but I guess they only went around once, saw the sign and didn't bother to check after noon.

I should also say I'm a big fan of Best Westerns and I recently had a great experience at the Best Western in St Malo, France.  This was unusual.

Do NOT stay here. The bathrooms have no heat in January. Instead of moving us to room with heat in the bathroom they give me a discount. Really. That's the best you can do. No worries. I will never be back. In fact I will boycott Best Western and unless you like frozen toilet seats you should too. Oh yeah the door doesn't close all the way either. Not on the bathroom thank goodness that door closes. The door to the arctic Boston air. This place needs new management and a complete makeover. Glad it is only a 2 night stay. AVOID THIS PLACE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

The beds are average but the place is clean. The lack of heat in the bathroom is unacceptable. Period.

Been here for one night (Sat to Sun) while on a business trip.
The room was right next to the street and since the doors are quite thin, the noise level was quite high all night long. The room was quite clean and with the help of some earplugs i had a full night of sleep.
The breakfast is very thin - just like the coffee. The employees are very helpful and friendly.
After all it's a Best Western - stay there to sleep. But not longer than you have to ;)
