This hotel was perfect for what we wanted.  We wanted to be in the middle of the action for an affortable price.  It's walking distance to the train, tons of shops, Neiman Marcus, tons of restaurants, Boston public library.  If you want something nice in an awesome location, this is the place to be.  Great service, friendly, helpful.

The typical kind of quality and amenities you would expect from a Courtyard By Marriott. Nice, comfy, clean rooms.

Two things lost points for me:

1) In their in-room book of services they said that they validate parking. However the front desk said that they don't.

2) The breakfast was not worth $14 in my opinion. It was just  bagels and pastries, cereals, fruit, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, juices, and you could make your own waffle. You could also order omelets from the menu. I only had a scoop of eggs and potatoes, and two pieces each of bacon and sausage. It didn't even fill a plate. So $14 for that is a bit much.

Great location, great staff, great hotel. Very straight-forward place...what you see is what you get. I was able to go to the Marriott that's literally a 2 minute walk away and work out too, which is nice because they have a great hotel gym.  Big fan and would definitely stay here again.

Great location, right near a T stop.  Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good size room, comfortable beds.  Would definitely stay here again, but would recommend eating breakfast somewhere else besides the hotel.

This is the best Courtyard I've ever stayed at.

I walked up to the counter with a sling on my arm because I had recently dislocated my shoulder. I was also a little disoriented because I had just passed the front door a few times because it looks like a side door. I guess the front desk lady felt must have noted my confused state of mind because I got to my floor and tried to find it, but couldn't. Then I realized that she gave me the handicapped room... did I look that pathetic?

The rooms are really clean and the whole building is beautiful. It's really tiny though and there are many total rooms. I stayed a night here and a night at the Westin down the street and for the price, this was a really good value.

If you end up staying around Copley square in Boston, a car is totally unnecessary. Parking is ridiculously expensive and just a pain to find. It's walking distance for a few subway stations, Boston public library!, and very convenient to Newbury street where we ended up a lot, just going shopping and to bars and restaurants. No sales tax in Boston!

I also stayed at the Westin down the street and I think the Westin was nicer and bigger but for the price, the Courtyard is a good deal.

I have stayed here for business twice this year and both times had a nice experience. For drivers, it's easy on and easy off the interstate - very simple to navigate, and you definitely can't beat the parking garage directly across the street.  And there is always a wealth of spaces, which is great. I had a King room both stays, and the room, while it's not spacious, it was adequate. My room was clean and nice, and I enjoyed the free wi-fi. My only complaint for both stays was how hot the room got at night. You could not adjust the thermostat, but I will say I never called the front desk about this issue. Also, the beverage vending machines were on every other floor and were ridiculously expensive. I will be coming to Boston a few more times this year for business, and I will stay here again.

So many options in Boston at so many rates but this place really has it together! Comfy clean quiet rooms, great location to T or Kenmore Square or Back Bay (right in Copley)  Easy few blocks to run the Charles River (highly recommend ) and the staff from front desk to restaurant to maintainance is stellar. A 5 star living in a 3 star costume. You will agree.

What a great place!

Located in Back Bay, this hotel is situated in a GREAT location. Next to the Boston Library, walking distance to Newbury Street (shopping), and within 1 or 2 blocks of numerous bars and restaurants, this hotel can't be beat.

Yes...it's doesn't have the bells and whistles of the Lenox or the other high end hotels but if you just need a nice, clean, perfectly located place to lay your head...this is it!

The hotel staff was more than friendly. The room is spacious. The views are great. It's your typical hotel. Nothing more to say!

p.s. if you have a AAA membership, you get a discount. Just plug your AAA number in online when booking and the price drops! Instead of almost $200 for a room in the area, I paid almost $100 a night here with my membership!

Just left hotel... We had to endure cold showers this morning. When I called the front desk I was told that no one else is experiencing this problem but interestingly enough she was telling me that the shower head could take hot water away and she could send a maintenance person up to help us-  so , obviously they have had this problem before. I told them that sending someone up doesn't help when a family member is already naked in the shower... Really.. I think we know how to work a shower and there should be a sign if there is a special way to do it. Anyway, great location if you like cooler showers.
Btw, asked for a manager to call- still waiting!

Looking for a Boston hotel room is a really obnoxious experience. Anything clean that's in a decent location can cost well over $300 a night, especially if you're like me and you book the week before. I am LUCKY to have gotten a room here for close to $200/night.

I was in the unfortunate position of arriving on a 5 AM redeye and trying to check in at 5:30 AM. The wonderful gentlemen at the front desk assured me that even though they had a full house the night before, they would send housekeepers to the first room to check out and would get me in ASAP. They offered me breakfast in the meantime, and checked in with me periodically to keep me updated. I was able to check in before an appointment I had scheduled, which was perfect.

Throughout my stay, the front desk staff (even those I hadn't interacted with) greeted me by name and were incredibly gracious. Upon checkout, the valet/bellman offered to call me a cab to the airport, then told me he had decided to call a car service instead since the flat-rate car service would be cheaper than the cab.

The location is the reason I booked this hotel, but the incredible service level is the reason I would come back. The staff here don't just care about their jobs, they truly care about providing an incredible experience to each guest.

Have I been staying at shabby hotels my entire life? It's not that this Courtyard was particularly fancy or anything -- I mean, the bed was comfortable and bug-free, and the Internet access was complimentary -- but wow, I haven't had hotel staff refer to me by name since I got married. But wouldn't you know it, Justin, who checked us in, greeted my husband and me by name every single day. I was pleasantly surprised at this token of customer service that made me feel at home in a city I'd never before visited. It definitely made me more inclined to come back!

If location is everything, it's hard to beat the Marriott Courtyard Boston Copley Square. The hotel is 1.5 blocks from the historic Boston Public Library and the T Green Line, just across the street from an indoor mall that stretches from Copley Square all the way through Prudential Plaza, and within walking distance from Boylston and Newbury shopping and dining action.

I'm docking a single star for two reasons: the thin walls and the shower. Thin walls: Let's just say the room next to us was housing a family with kids. The kids weren't particularly loud, but we could hear them pretty regularly. Shower: The lack of water pressure made cleaning up pretty difficult. This is a problem I've experienced at high-end resorts recently, as well, and while I understand that it's a conservation measure, it's also a major pain in the butt to try to shower  under those conditions. The water temperature also had a tendency to fluctuate while I was in the middle of rinsing off, which was almost scream-worthy.

Overall, a great location and great service for a pretty decent price. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night in a small suite and it was awesome. The staff were very nice and very accommodating. The room was clean and very spacious. The parking garage was right across the street And was only 39$ for over night. Will definitely choose this hotel when I go into Boston!

The hotel had nice clean rooms. There was a lack of communication from the staff about the parking situation at check-in. We woke up with a $45 charge on our credit card for parking on top of the $130/ night . I guess that is common in Boston but it is a rude awakening for the unexpected tourist. All and all a pretty good experience but I have never heard of a hotel charging for their guests to park. Am I alone here?

We chose this hotel based on location.  We wanted a Marriott hotel close to the T.  Plus we liked that fact that this hotel is housed in a refurbished apartment building from the 1800's.  The building is so beautiful.  And it's a very small hotel, only 81 rooms.

The route we chose driving over from Logan took us thru a couple quaint neighborhoods that gave us a nice taste of the area.  And we were pleased to be near Newbury Street, which we equated to a New England Rodeo Drive.

Since we had an early morning flight, we were hoping for an early check in.  No rooms were available because we were told their cleaning staff doesn't start the day until 9 am and they were complete booked the night before.  But they kindly stowed our car and luggage and took our number so they could call when a room was ready.    We received a call around 10:30 am, while we were finishing up breakfast on Newbury Street.

Our room wasn't overly huge, but felt somewhat spacious due to room planning.  The room was very beautiful.  Built ins made good use of space, everything well organized.  Our bath was huge, really liked the size of the walk in shower.

The staff here is first rate.  As always, everyone was very courteous and friendly.  Loved our valet.  So nice to receive personalized attention.  We felt very comfortable here and enjoyed our stay.

Good location, but terrible hotel. Just slap a Marriott brand on a dumpy shoebox room & charge $200 bucks a night. Shame on you Marriott!!

Very attentive people.  Good sized clean rooms.  Much more reasonable that other hotels in the area.  Very convenient to mass transit.  I will be back.

Location, location, location.  Great spot in Back Bay near a lot of spots and attractions and the staff will greet you by name every day.   The breakfast is overpriced and not worth a mention, and the maid was sloppy (not a good quality in a maid).

It's a good spot and a decent room, but I'm not excited to stay here again.

Pros: great location and access to shops restaurants and public transport, small and quiet hotel, friendly staff, decent rooms

Cons: shower head did not work, the room was not clean,  horrible maid service! there was hair in the shower, the toilet was dirty,  and the sheets were not fresh (gross). There are no amenities at this hotel.

I prefer to stay at the Marriott across the street.

Room: Very nice.

Breakfast: Announced in the room guide as open until 10am. I went down 10 minutes to 10 and was told it was closed. The restaurant sign says open until 9:30.  :(

When given the option to spend $300 a night here vs anywhere else in the Back Bay, I suggest you go elsewhere! I'm a platinum Marriott member and was extremely disappointed in the service and the quality of my room at this hotel. The room I was given had no heat and no cold water -- making a shower before my 8am flight a challenge! I contacted the manager of the front desk, he offered me 5000 points (woopie) and defended the decisions of his staff, not very apologetic and not commiserate with the rate or the experience. There's a Marriott around the corner, stay there.

I spent the weekend at this boutique hotel.  It's amazing architecture was the first thing I noticed when I pulled in.  The gentleman, Sam, came right to the car to assist us.  The staff went above and beyond to help in any way.  The room was immaculate.  The view, breathtaking.  Everything about this hotel was 5 star.  Then the price...wow!  I stayed a second night...Why?  Because I could afford it!!!  I didn't want to go!  I plan on returning for a longer stay...very soon!   The best experience I have had in a hotel of any rating.  Experience it!!!

Peter and Emilie at the Front Desk are awesome, we felt very welcome the minute we walked into the property and made our stay that much more memorable!

Located near Trinity Church and the fabulous shops at Copley Square/Newbury Street, the hotel is accessible to a majority of destinations in Boston, including Chinatown and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

Our room was very comfortable and roomier than we expected.

The lobby is pretty cozy, with a large Flat Screen TV, a corner work area and a buffet dining area.

We look forward to our next visit already...

On a recent quickie getaway to Boston for a weekend, I needed to find a hotel room and was a bit dismayed to see that Copley Square hotel rooms could go as high as $400+ a night (matching Manhattan rates!).  When Priceline offered a deal for $129/night, I jumped on it and wound up at the Courtyard Boston Copley Square.

Set up in a gigantic older building in the area, the hotel has a gorgeous exterior.  It has impressive towers, moldings and detailing.  The interior is much more modern and takes most of its design cues from other Marriots.  Inside it's a much smaller space and I would call this a much reduced down version of other bigger Marriots.  They have a nice lounge area and small restaurant on the first floor.  They provide free coffee and tea in the mornings and then iced tea and water in the afternoon.    Much to my surprise the hotel actually provided free wired and wireless internet which managed to give me good speed on both my iPad and laptop at the same time.

We stayed on the second floor in a room off in a corner.  The room itself is probably the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, but like the lobby it has a modern decor, clean lines, bold patterns on the walls and new-ish furniture.  The King Sized bed was really comfortable and I slept wonderfully on it.  They carried Paul Mitchell brad shampoo and conditioner with some nice smelling lotion to go along with it.  The room was clean and room service did a great job making the room welcoming and comfortable.

The customer service was really friendly and welcoming.  For the rate we got and the gorgeous area nearby it made this stay more than worth it.  This is not a hotel to stay in all day, it's a good place to rest, hang up your hat and sleep while focusing on touring around the area.

Great hotel. Service is awesome- really great and super helpful and friendly. Price is less than most of bigger hotels in the area, but not sure why- totally awesome for price of more expensive places. Such a great spot. Very clean and comfy beds. Will stay here again.

Comfortable rooms, great location but...

Not the best hospitality. We were 1 of 2 bachelor parties, and they kept getting our parties confused. People from the other bachelor party entered 2 of the rooms reserved while we were sleeping twice, (I assumed the dudes drunkenly forgot their keys and the front desk just issued them new ones), and they had the other party's email address listed on my invoice.

Also, we had 1 noise complaint on 1 room, and they charged us a $100 fee. Not just for this one room, but for ALL 4 ROOMS WHICH WERE ALL ON SEPARATE FLOORS.

I tried to handle this issue calmly with the front desk reps, and all they did was give me the manager's email address.

I have had great experiences with Courtyard, and I won't let one bad experience completely tarnish an otherwise great reputation, but it's certainly a step backwards.

My wife and I have stayed at this property several times over the past few years. Consistently wonderful experience. The minute you step off the sidewalk into the hotel it almost feels a bit boutique like. Friendly, accommodating staff, large sitting area that is great for reading, watching TV, playing card or even bringing a bite back to the hotel however not wanting to eat in your room(see the picture below). Also a food area where breakfast is served as well. A stone's throw to Lord & Taylor and the other stores in Prudential Center and Copley Place. Great restaurants less than a 5 minute walk along with Newbury Street and access to ALL 4 T-lines. Definitely recommend staying here next time you visit Boston. Hey last time I met Richard Dreyfus on Exeter Street when I was leaving.

We stayed for 6 days at this hotel on vacation. The location is the best surrounded by great shopping and restaurants.

The hotel is very very clean, quite and up to date. The staff and management truly ttys and secedes in making you feel like your at home. They provide Washer/Dryers for guess use and even provide laundry detergent and dryer sheets for free to their guest. They are knowable about their town and will give you the best advise on where to go and what to do.

I will be happy to stay there again and would highly recommend anyone to stay there.

Please tell them Lee from Sarasota sent you

I'd like to thank this hotel for ruining what was supposed to be an amazing night. They called a week yes only one week to cancel reservations that had been made in December saying that they have a Convention coming in and can no longer give us a room. I've searched for other hotels in the area and they want to charge an arm and a leg because it's so close to the date we need. So thank you for ruining a late Christmas gift.
Be careful if you chose to make reservations here, because even if you do it months in advance if a large company comes in and says they want your room the hotel gladly gives it to them and will only tell you a week before. I wonder how many other people they have done this to. Horrible to do this to someone.

We stayed only for a night. Close to any exciting thing u can do in the city. The mall, the bowling alley, newbury street, the observation deck.  Great location. Great price too. Our room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. The ladies in the front desk were very nice and helping us with a few unexpected last minute things we needed.

I will says he parking was quite expensive. I wasn't sure which parking they use since they had one right in front  of their door but they didn't validate parking. They claimed they had valet services, but probably more expensive than self parking.

Other than this, everything was very nice.

Cool, smaller Marriott in a great Boston location. Definitely try to get a higher floor over the Boston Public Library. The views are killer from that side.

The rooms are beautiful and they do cool little things like offering free gifts to Platinum Rewards members.

They even have two elevators so you don't have to worry about being able to get in and out with ease.

Yes the parking is $45, but you're in Boston so you need to get over that. You definitely don't need a car to get around, so leave it at home if you can.

Highly recommended and doesn't feel like a traditional Courtyard at all.
