I stayed here in June of 2008.  We stayed in one of the apartment type rooms and it was extremely nice.  The bed was big and comfortable and was in a separate room with an O.K. bathroom.  The living room was separate and had a big couch and a few arm chairs.  There were t.v.s in both room and also a full kitchen.  The staff was very nice and helpful.  The only downside was there wasn't any view on the ocean or pool but it was still an amazing stay.  They close for the off season but the best time to go is as they are closing and when they first open for the best prices.

This should really be a 2.5 but I am feeling nice today.

I understand it is extremely hard to review a hotel and its features during the off season (April)  but I will limit it to two things I want to point out.

    1. Hope you like '80s sea green bathrooms
    2. The shower temp was inconsistent.

    Staff was very nice though!

It's a hotel on the beach. It is what it is! They need to get rid of the carpets in the halls, they are just gross. Room was ok, bed was a little old. Nice little balcony & I think almost every room has one.  The room was clean they provided bath & body works soaps/shampoo & makeup remover which was a nice touch. Rip Tide Pool Bar on premises makes good food & drinks. May stay again.

We stayed at this hotel for Memorial Day weekend and were very happy with our stay. Since many of the hotels in Ocean City can only be booked through local OC websites or by calling the hotel directly, it is sometimes difficult to find a decent place to stay. There were very few pictures of the hotel online and its website is pretty simple. I took a chance and booked the hotel.

We arrived at about 5 pm on Saturday and it looked like we were one of the last to arrive. Checking in was a breeze and we were given our room keys and told where we could park the car. After parking in the designated area, we grabbed our bags and went to the room. As soon as we walked in, we could hear music coming from the outside. We put our stuff down and opened the sliding door to our balcony and there was a live band playing at the pool bar that was connected to our hotel. It was great! People were in party mode and we were ready to join.

The hotel is in a U-shape with a little playground and the pool in the middle of it. It's right at the end of the boardwalk and right on the beach. You couldn't ask for a better location. The hotel also had a game room with a pool table and video games and an indoor swimming pool that was open 24 hours.

Our room had two double beds, a table with two chairs, tv, mini fridge, microwave, and stove. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, and conditioner from Bath & Body Works. The only thing we noticed that was a small issue was the water in the shower would change from hot to cold and back to hot and then cold again. A little annoying, but not worth complaining about since we were only there for two nights. We were running low on toilet paper and within five minutes of calling the front desk, someone brought a new roll up to us. Great service!

The day before we left, the hotel had placed a note on our door informing us of the 11:00 am check-out time. However, we could stay until 6:00 pm if we paid $29 or stay an extra night for $45. We planned on leaving at 11 am the next day, but we didn't wake up until 10:30 am and called down to the front desk to take advantage of the late check-out. It was definitely worth it, since we didn't end up leaving until 4:00 pm.

We stayed for a week in this hotel. September 2013. When we arrived I thought our vacation would be ruined. Let me start by saying the staff are very helpful and friendly and tried to help where they could.  There were few electrical outlets, some of them actually came out of the wall. There was no hot water. They fixed this but it was still intermittent. The fold out couch was the worst I've ever seen. The worst part of the whole experience was that when you get off the elevator you have to take your luggage cart UP TWO STAIRS, go down a hallway and then DOWN TWO MORE STAIRS!!!  They didn't even warn us about it. I won't ever stay there again.

The hotel needs a big facelift. This hotel could be very cute but they need to not allow smoking on the balconies because the smell gets into your rooms. When we first checked into our room it smelled like smoke. They had to come spray the carpets, drapes and overall room and that helped just a little but I could still smell it. The hall walls need to be cleaned and a fresh coat of paint. I would remove the rugs in the halls and put a durable floor down since you are at the beach and the sand is in the carpet. The bed spread looked as if it had not been cleaned or a new one put out in years. I put the bed spreads in the closet and used our beach blankets as blankets for the few days we were there. In addition the sheets are very cheap sheets but were clean. The drapes need replacement and or at least cleaned they looked dirty and dingy. The closet only had 5 hangers. The balconies do not have any type of walls blocking from your neighbor just a rail so no privacy. It appears that they do not clean the balcony furniture between people because I had to clean the ashes off the our very small table outside. The bathroom towels are for small people and are very cheap towels so they have no softness to them. They have a All You Can Eat Restaurant downstairs and I could smell fish cooking in the halls. I personally do not like the smell of fish cooking. The hotel has a great location and many amenities and could be an amazing hotel with some work. I would not recommend this place to a friend. I had to give it a two because of the smell of smoke and fish but if you like the smell of fish and you are a smoker you will love it here.

My husband & I just returned from spending 4 nights in this hotel. The pros were it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, it was one step up from shabby. The walls of the room obviously had water damage, the sliding glass door took much effort to open it. The front door had a problem staying closed; in major need of a shot of wd-40. Water pressure was bad. Internet kept disconnecting every few minutes (almost like they didn't want you to use it.) Hallways smelled; room didn't. No privacy on balconies; if neighbors smoked and  yes they all did, it was right in your face.  All rooms look out across the courtyard and you can see into everyone's room.  And they can see into yours. Bedspreads, drapes and linen are worn and shabby. Only one lamp had a light blub which worked.  Coffee in lobby almost always out. Parking very tight. And noisy every evening.
Most of these things you can live with for a few days but it took two visits from maintenance to fix the door lock.
To be fair, this was a family motel so noise is to be expected. also many amenities for families. We could see kitchenettes across the courtyard (into other peoples rooms) there were two pools, a small playground in the courtyard, picnic area and it was located right on the beach. You did have to leave the building for breakfast but there was a separate restaurant in the building for dinner. We did not use it as we had other plans for dinner.
We did not pick this motel as we were sent there for business. As I stated before our room was clean and that is my most important requirement. This motel needs major renovations and I doubt we will be back anytime soon.

I'm giving this 4 stars because our ocean view, and the king sized bed was awesome! what wasn't awesome, though, was how it was obvious the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. the room greatly needed vacuumed, the furniture needed dusted, and I found hair by 2 different people on the towels folded on the top shelf in the bathroom. the staff was friendly, I liked the bright and outdated look of the room because it was a vacation. it was beachy, and this was the first vacation my husband and I had in our 10 year relationship. I didn't use the comforter though. the first night we were there, I found hair on it and there were holes on the inside. really, it was a very nice stay, just needs a little facelift.

Staying here 5 days in October 2014. So far, staff has been very friendly and helpful. Oceanfront room was well used and needed remodeling but suited our needs and a beautiful view plus the Corvette parade was a bonus. Outdoor pool was closed and used by seagulls. Indoor pool was ok. Hot tub very outdated. Fitness Room was typical. Never enough variety and everything broken or well worn. Every hand sanitizer station we found was empty thru out entire building. The steps in the hallways are a pain with luggage. Many electrical violations in our room. Old televisions. Iffy Wifi. Patio door hard to close. Everything well worn. I would stay here again but only as a last resort after looking elsewhere.

Walls are paper thin, beds are super uncomfortable, bathrooms were surprisingly clean though. Definitely wouldn't stay there again.

Very nice hotel, it's in a very convenient   spot close to jolly roger park and trolley, boardwalk is steps away, ocean front rooms are very nice, they come with a mini kitchen which is very convenient if traveling with young children, the indoor pool is very good with a kiddy pool walking distance to a lot of good restaurants.

It is a good enough place to stay. It is located at one end of the boardwalk, so you can walk all across to the other end. It is a little quieter than the other areas, and felt more discos and private. The room was a decent size, it was clean. They have coffee, hot chocolate and fruits in the lobby. Parking is available by permit.
The views of the ocean from the room was amazing. It seemed that every room had their own balcony overlooking the ocean.
The only two things I was not happy about was that the room had electrical outlets so far from each other and so few, and the internet was extremely extremely slow and kept disconnecting.
Other than that, it is a decent hotel

Decent hotel, especially for the price.

Since I used to travel a lot on business, I was prepared with Lysol in case my room was not clean to Marriott standards.  To my surprise, the bathroom was spotless, which is saying something since that color green tile and matching vanity and toilet must be super old.  But it had been recaulked and in great shape.  I didn't even need the Lysol.

The carpet and bedspreads were another story.  As I do with most hotels, I remove the bedspreads and only use the sheets and blankets that are cleaned after every guest (basically anything white).  Because, as usual, the bedspreads were dirty.  The carpet was also pretty dirty, so I wish I had brought my carpet shampooer.

Other than those 2 things, it's a great place to stay, oceanside pool plus an indoor pool that is open 24/7.  Right on the boardwalk, although it is FAR from anything on the boardwalk, so with 2 small kids, we still drove 15 blocks and parked to go to the boardwalk shops.

Hint:  the poolside rooms have an unobstructed view of the ocean and are more secure than the other rooms (except oceanfront rooms) since the other balconies are all connected with a short  divider.  This was an inexpensive way to get an ocean view room at half the price of the oceanfront rooms.
