The family-owned aspect of this hotel makes for great service.  We loved the grounds. They had a clean pool, a volleyball court and a small area for shooting basketball hoops -- which all are great, especially if you have a family and some kids need to get rid of energy even after returning after a long day at the beach.

The room itself is no Ritz-Carlton, but that's not what we're paying for here.  We found our bed very comfortable and everything clean.  I would suggest investment in new carpeting, but everything was clean.

Location: Great for getting to the beach and to Assateague.  There are plenty of great diners and outlet shopping nearby.  If going to the beach, head out before 10am to find parking, and you should do well. We were there on Labor Day weekend, and headed to the island for breakfast with no delays.  When we headed back at 11:30, there was a ton of traffic.

Staff: Super friendly and flexible. They really want to make sure you have a good time.  We arrived at midnight, and I only called earlier that evening (at 8pm) to let them know we'd be arriving late, and the staff did all they could to make sure I arrived well.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat next time I want to go to Ocean City, MD and would recommend this hotel to my friends as well.

A cheap place to stay at last minute. Uncomfortable beds. Water smells like rust. Eww. Rooms are muggy and smelly.

We booked this place for 3 nights during the fourth of July weekend. This place was about 2 miles away from the beach.  From the reviews I read online I was very excited to be staying here since we got a pretty good rate for a room.  I'm not sure what the other reviewers were thinking....lets just say I stayed at better places in vietnam!

Even though we were so close to the beach traffic was really bad around this area.  It took us an hour to get to the beach from our hotel. This is during the fourth of July weekend,  traffic is probably better during normal days.

Our first impression when we got into the room was ew. The room was really small. It barely fit the bed, night stand, and dresser. When we got into our room there were at least 5 flies inside.  When looking around there was a "complimentary" fly swatter.  The ac was off when we walked into the room.  Having the AC off did not help with the smell and the muggy feeling.

I was really tired and wanted to take a quick nap before heading to the beach.  When I lifted up the sheets there were soooo many hairs everywhere.  I lifted up another layer of the sheets and I thought I saw a blood stain.  When we complained and had a cleaning lady come by to check our room she look shocked to see all those hairs too.  When we showed here the stained she calmly informed us that it wasn't blood it was just a rust stain. I guess many of their sheets have rust stains on them because she acted like it was no big deal.  When talking to one of the front office staff and describing what we saw in our room she admitted that she wouldn't have stayed in our room either.  The staff did seem shocked about the state of our room and understood if we wanted to have our stay shortened.

The cleaning staff recleaned our room.  Even after it was clean I still felt dirty.  We decided to stay one night since it would of been hard to book a hotel on the 4th.  The bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on since the sheets were very rough.  I woke up super excited to leave the motel.  When I took a shower I smelt like iron afterwards.  I felt sooo disgusting!

They definitely need to invest their money back into their motel rooms.  The furniture was breaking, many pieces were held together by scotch tape!  There was rust build up in our shower and on every metal piece inside of the motel.

Awful place to stay.  If you have the option defiantly spend the few extra bucks to get a better room closer to the beach.

The only good thing I have to say about this place is the staff are very friendly.  After our complaints they gave us a 75% refund.  I didn't want to fight to try to get a full refund.  I was just really excited to get out of here.

You know you're staying at a nice place when they provide you with your very own fly swatter in the room. Gross - black finger prints on the bathroom walls and - just gross.  *shudder

If your planning to stay in the cottages, than it's a big no. We were upgraded to cottages for free, feeling excited when we went in it was a disgrace. So we requested to downgrade our rooms.
Stay in the rooms. They are clean and the bathrooms are clean too.
Of course you shouldn't expect 5 star amenities. But for the price the rooms are clean and if your main aim is to have good nights sleep with clean bathrooms, you can consider this is an option.
