My stay was terrible. I requested a non smoking room. I was given a room that was once a non smoking room that was converted from smoking. When I called the front desk, I was told that story and the smell was basically years of having it permeate in the walls and furniture. Unfortunately it was almost 10 pm by the time we go into the room.  We received a room adjustment and geared with the room.  My clothes smelled the entire next day.  The parking garbage looks like it's going to collapse. You don't need another bridge collapse in Minnesota.  You can actually see through the parking deck to the lower level through the crumbled surface.  This place is crumbling apart. It needs drastic updating. I will never stay here again nor will I refer anyone.  Also the AC in the room sounds like a lawnmower. It's suppose to be a higher end Holiday Inn, but it has old wall units like the kind you would find in old hotels. This place really needs to be revamped.

Great redo of what might look like an outdated hotel on the outside.    Room was very clean and modern.  Hotel bar/restaurant is new and upscale with a great menu and decent draught selection.  Staff was friendly and accommodating.  I don't get to Minny often but if you're looking for a hotel near the airport with comfortable clean rooms and a great bar, book it here.

Decided to head to MOA for a last minute trip. Went on some of the travel websites and on tripadvisor and saw that this place had great reviews and ranked #7 on TA.  I went directly on the website and found a great deal: $64/night for the weekend (although nonrefundable).

We didn't check out the rest of the hotel to see the other amenities they offered (should have pool area, free breakfast, other restaurants and bars)but our room was great-  super clean and comfy.  Free wireless. Free parking. They even let you borrow an ipod to use if you needed one as they have an ipod dock for music in the room (didn't try this out though).  The people working the front desk was super nice as well.

It's right off the highway and 5-10 minutes away from MOA.  There are plenty of hotels in the area to choose from but I would definitely stay here again with such a great rate!

I read a lot on yelp & I take the recommendation to heart. I decided to stay at this hotel for 8 nights in March 2012.  I don't travel much but when I do I stay at good hotels. I have to tell you that this has been a great experience. Room is clean food is good and the staff are very friendly.  The hotels looks very nice and up to date.

Downfall:  the business center ( common computer area) is too small.  Just two computer.

Over all recommended.  You won't regret it.

Stayed here 2 nights on a business trip.  Hotel is a short drive from MSP airport.  It is nicely decorated and seems fairly updated.  There is a large indoor swimming pool that looks good.  I had the breakfast one morning and it was just average.  Very typical fair that seemed out of the freezer box and microwaved.

The room itself was comfortable. Bed was nice. Bathroom was good. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.

Have stayed here twice for business trips. The hotel itself is fine. My room was clean and quite, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is pretty basic and way overpriced at $14. Biggest knock is the location is very isolated from restaurants and any other activity. A car is a must if you stay for several nights. They do have a shuttle to the Mall of America, but it runs at odd times. 3:00 pm then not again until 7:00 pm. So if you finish work when most people do, between 4:00 and 5:00. You either have to eat at the hotel or eat very late at the mall.

During my first stay they were pretty flexible with shuttles. If you asked for a ride at 5:30, they'd take you. This trip they've been sticking to the schedule. They say its because there've been a lot of airport runs. Well, OK, but the Mall is on the way to the airport.

The prices are on the higher side for what you're getting.

They have been remodeling for years, and yet their prices would make you think you're staying in downtown Minneapolis.  If someplace is looking a little rough, then give me a break on the price while you're tearing up the surroundings.  If the pool is not in service, then credit me for that.  As it is, this will be my last stay at this location.

    The Good:
They are close to an exit.

    The Bad:
Many of their rooms just feel old.  Some of them have digital thermostats, some of them have the old switch versions.  The rooms are small, and the breakfast buffet is very overpriced.  $15 for what was essentially a Denny's Grand Slam.  Some people get papers, some don't. It's just very hit and miss.

    The Ugly
The parking lot sucks.  There is a side road that leads around to the back lot, but it's not marked.  So sometimes you will have to wait for the shuttle, or someone that has blocked the way to the lot.  Overall, just poor design.

    The Short of it
The Staybridge Suites across the highway offers a better value and bigger rooms.

    Not 3 Stars!

The rooms are small, the staff unpleasant, and they charge for everything they possibly can!

To start, when we checked in and asked to be upgraded to a suite the first answer was no. Not how much it would cost, just no. We were not expecting it for free, we just wanted to know 1) if it were an option, and 2) the cost, but instead we were simply told no we couldn't, not that they didn't have available, again just no.

We arrived to our "King" room, yes it had a King sized bed but that was about it, there were no extra pillows and enough towels for one. (Although they did bring more towels upon request.)  The room was small, the thermostat is the old-fashioned lever kind, and the linens are scratchy.

When we needed ice, there is no listing in the guest book for ice locations so I had to call and surprise surprise, no ice on our floor. We then called about a refrigerator for the room (because it says "available upon request") and was then informed it would be an additional $10 per day, despite the length we were booked.

Is it clean? Yes. Do they provide the bare minimum as listed on their website? Yes. Should they be considered 3 star? No! Nothing about this hotel makes it any better than the local 2 star hotels. They are clean but the staff is rude and unwilling to accommodate simple requests. Genuine friendliness can go a long way.

Stayed here four nights on a crazy business trip over New Years. The service is awesome with some of the nicest people. Rooms were comfortable and of great value. The fitness equpment was clean and up to date. The pool was great though over-clorinated.  My only feedback on areas for improvement is the food. It's OK.

The other reviews were right - don't stay in the pool facing rooms. They are noisy and humid.  I'll definitely be back

I have to give 4-stars for my overnight stay here this past week. I was fortunate enough to get one of the newly remodeled rooms in the keyed hallway just behind the registration area. Nice rooms with walk-in shower in the bathroom, comfy beds with lovely chocolates and aromatherapy samples awaiting you, along with a well-stocked fridge and snack shelf!  Restaurant had a nice Italian wedding soup and chicken wrap for a light late-night supper, too!

I stayed here for work a few weeks ago. It's pretty standard as far as hotels go. Nothing fancy on amenities or accommodations. The gym was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was full of heavy, greasy meats and egg dishes covered in cheese. I had to ask for whole fruit to be restocked, along with yogurt and cereal. They do offer a shuttle within a 5 mile radius, so you can gladly dine elsewhere. The rooms are kept very clean. The only other issue I had was how thing the walls are. I could hear everything the people in the rooms on either side of me did. It makes for impossible sleep without melatonin!

I guess when a hotel says they are 3.5 starts I expect Hilton. Nice lobby. Pool was great if the area around the pool was more than 65°. Burrrr. Nothing special with the room standard hotel room. Pillows were nice.  If I would recommend this to a special friend. Nope

After checking in I went to my room and was amazed at how clean and updated the common areas were, my room was no different, up to date and very comfortable. The staff was great and always had a smile on their face which is always a great thing to see. The restaurant inside the hotel had great food and the morning before I was set to check out I went to the pool area which was relaxing and clutter free.... I will definitelybe staying here again.

In general I like the feel of this upscale property.  That said I have two and a half specific nits to pick.

First is the bathroom lighting.  I'm glad I only have to shave and can basically do that in the dark, which is how poor the lighting is.  I don't know how a woman would do her makeup.  The lighting fixtures are cool and trendy, but do not illuminate your face.  It's really poor.

The second nit is the WIFI.  It's spotty and I finally gave up trying to stream Pandora, instead switching to my cellular connection.   Ditto for my tablet as I tried to get my email.

The half nit is a lack of electrical outlets in the lamps on the desk and night stand.  They do have power strip type devices, but these are pretty ugly.

For the casual traveler these things aren't so bad.  But they'll drive a road warrior crazy.

I stayed here for three nights while on a business trip in April 2015.  My hotel room was in the Woman Only Wing behind the check-in counter that did not require an elevator to get in to and could only be accessed by a key card in the hall. In said wing, there was a refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, H20, yogurt, string cheese, dove ice cream bars & frozen hershey bars. In addition, there was a snack tray with chips, granola bars, cookies, and breakfast bars. It was awesome!

My bed was comfortable, the room was cleaned daily and the shuttle bus schlepped me wherever I needed to go.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks in January 2015 for business. Everyone who works here was very friendly and helpful. I accidentally left my headlights on one night, and the staff even helped me jump my car in the morning.

The lobby is clean and modern. There is a cozy fireplace and fruit infused water. Coffee until 9am. The hot tub was great after spending time outside in the brutal cold of Minnesota. Apparently, they offer iPods that you can check out from the front desk, but I didn't use one because it was too cold to run.

The room was spacious and clean. The king bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. The walk-in shower was great, with amazing water pressure. They left aromatherapy lotions and spray to help you relax, including a foot lotion that soothes your tired feet after a day walking around the Mall of America, just a short drive away.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would love to stay again next time I'm in town.
