Location- conveinent to campus and stadium
Room- pretty standard
Bathroom- standard
Service- pretty decent
Parking- free
Restaurant in the front

While this place is nice for the price you pay, this hotel tends to be used as party house for college students from the U. I should know, I used to be one there.

I came here for a weekend for New Years and it was pretty crazy noisy. My second visit was less noisy.

I re-did this review and reduced it from 2 stars to 1 star because I noticed peeling wallpaper,  a weird bug in the bathroom, and the air conditioning simply stopped working on the second day.

This place is awful.  I can't believe anyone would give it 3 stars.  The staff are unprofessional, the room is dirty and reeks.  The bed is literally as hard as a board-- and I LIKE firm beds!  I an totally scared to go to the continental breakfast tomorrow.  The only reason I originally gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the Tea House Restaurant that shares a parking lot with the hotel, and is thus ridiculously close, is decent.  Not great, but decent.  Unlike many places in the mid-west they will give you actually spicy, hot food if you ask for it, and I've heard they make good cocktails.  I may have to head over there later in order to be able to bear the disgustingness of this room.
Don't stay here.  It is completely over-priced and sucks.

Except that it's conveniently located near U of MN campus, this hotel has seen better days - a stinky smell, worn carpet and walls, far from full breakfast offerings with limited room to eat, weak wi-fi, TV reception which had snow in the picture (in late August,) attempt to collect for a room safe never used, and just an old look. It's a place to stay, so two stars were suggested - say no more!

Does the job when you need a convenient place to stay close to campus but the place itself is not that great. The rooms smelled funny and the bathrooms need a major uplift. Customer service is alright.

Here's the rundown:

The staff do their job and are fairly positive and helpful, although a hello or good evening would be nice when you walk in.

Their complimentary breakfast is ok. Standard juice, waffle maker, mini-donuts. Its early, its food now eat it and get on with life. Steer clear of the fruit. It's not fresh.

The secret to this place is their van shuttle. This made the dirty carpets and shabby rooms worth it. Just reserve you destination at the front desk prior and their drivers will take you anywhere within a 7 mile radius. This saved us plenty on cab fare or walking time.

Location is great for stadium, university or hospital.

It is a party hotel as evident by the folks smoking reefer in the room next door but who could blame them? The hallways are lined with soda machines AND most importantly... ICE CREAM VENDING MACHINES!!!!
