We rolled in to the Holiday Inn Express with no reservation at 1:45 am.  We got a decent last minute rate ($89) and really friendly service, even that late at night.  The room was clean and well kept, though it's clear this location is aging some and could use touch-ups here and there.  Although we didn't get to use the pool, we did appreciate the continental breakfast, which is probably the best continental breakfast I've had.  In addition to the typical bread, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs type fare, there were fresh pancakes, cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, bacon and sausage.  The coffee was good and the ladies in charge of the breakfast area kept everything clean and well stocked.  The ladies were extremely helpful and especially friendly.  So the hotel itself may not be the newest or most impressive, but for road weary travelers, they were great accommodations with phenomenal service.

The location is great for the airport. The hotel was clean. But the smoke smell was too much. I had a non-smoking room and around 10pm to midnight my room smelled liked cigar bar. Thier ventilation system must have been the problem. Too late to call and switch rooms. In the morning I mentioned it to the front desk as I was checking out. The gentlemen fround and said he would mention it to maintenance and then smiled and asked if I needed the shuttle to the airport. Nothing like just glossing over the problem and hoping it will just go away. I don't know if I will stay here again.

We rode out a 3-day Solstice Storm 2013 power outage here, making frantic reservations from our darkened home - damaged by a neighbor's very large maple tree - hoping to find a place to stay that had power yet was close to our South Minneapolis home. We hit the jackpot at this Holiday Inn Express. Since we didn't know when our power would be restored, we had to re-up for another night twice. Mitch told us not to worry, they would take care of us as long as needed. The free, daily, hot breakfast was a godsend. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, milk, bagels, wheat toast, hot coffee (and lots of it) and more - just what we needed to regroup and get ready to return to our home for cleanup each day. Large, open areas with tables and couches, 32" HD TV with free HBO, decent WiFi, pool, workout room, laundry facilities, good shower head/water pressure, central AC, king bed were other important amenities. Our stay almost made us feel human again after witnessing the carnage in our neighborhood, which had 4-5 large boulevard trees uprooted and lying across our street in a one-block area. Very reasonable rates and great customer service all around, from front desk staff (thanks, Mitch!), housekeeping (kept us stocked with towels, TP, tissues, anything we needed), and the breakfast attendants (coffee never ran out, food always stocked until 10 a.m., kept tables clean for guests ).Thank you Holiday Inn Express, for being there when we needed you. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

It takes a lot for me to jump on anything other than my phone to write a review, but PLEASE READ before booking. This hotel isn't one of the worse hotels it IS the worst hotel. Especially for a Holiday Inn, how disappointing, I felt like I was in the slums. Luggage cart had one flat wheel, felt completely stupid wheeling it down to my room. Luggage carts were scattered throughout the hallways, paint chipping off the walls, my room wasn't even cleaned! The girl at the front desk was so unprofessional, mingling with the drunks at the bar while I patiently waited to be checked in. THEN, after my LONG wait I had to come back down because my key didn't work, all the while having to push a flat luggage cart. The HOTEL is DIRTY, if you are on business or on leisure don't ruin your trip by coming to this hotel.

I find myself in the Twin Cities for the next three months on business. Being raised by an avid corporate traveler (with high customer service expectations), I tend to be more difficult to please. That said...I really like this location. It's close to the mall. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. The nightly rate is affordable. The breakfast is wonderful (e.g. omelets, biscuits & gravy, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit, etc.). But most importantly, the service is right on point. Mitch, Connor, the breakfast lady, Todd...they're so accommodating that you can't help but love it. Although it's not guaranteed, I hope to book with them during my entire stay and recommend you do the same.

There are lots of options in the area, I'd go somewhere else (Marriott has two locations up the street) before I'd come back.  It's not inexpensive, nothing appears to be updated at all recently and the fitness center is a joke (a treadmill, a bike, a stairmaster and not one other thing) but the front desk was kind/accommodating and the breakfast is actually pretty decent.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! There are about 10 other hotels on this street, I highly recommend any of them over this holiday inn express. Sure they are friendly, but that's about it. Their shuttle service left us waiting for an hour and a half, TWICE! Stay away!!!

I've stayed here dozens of times on business and have very little complaints. Some of the heaters are inconsistent in the winter but the rooms are clean, the staff is always nice and helpful and it's close to a lot of food and shopping.

If you are on any sort of schedule, I highly recommend that you not rely on the shuttle service. Twice in one day, we are told that the shuttle would pick us up in under 20 minutes.... both times we waited for over an hour and eventually had to pay for our own taxi to get to the hotel. Horrible customer service. We actually missed some of our vacation plans due to the poor service that Holiday Inn Express shuttle service provides.

This hotel was a nice stay, but nothing fancy. We reserved a room with a king bed and a pull-out sofa. The room included a mini-fridge and a microwave and bonus: the room was large enough to actually pull out of the sofa and still move around! The selling point for us was that they also offer a shuttle to Mall of America every hour on the hour, so you don't have to worry about parking. It was only about 15 minutes from the airport.

The trails that are literally within walking distance, even for you, most obese Yelper that would not find themselves caught dead on a trail at home, are unbelievably majestic. Wood planks over the edge of an incredibly diverse-looking lake. This is the shit that stays embedded in your brain forever.

Room was adequate. Clean, nice, cheap place to stay. The trail that is accessed if you continue past this property towards the dead end road which is less than a city block away is incredible. Do not stay here without checking it out. - E
