The rooms are just like any typical courtyard: 2 queens or 1 king in a pretty standard room with common amenities.  I really appreciated, however, that the hotel had a jacuzzi, a gym, and a pool.  I made use of all 3.  The lobby in this one is inexplicably nice.  It has a giant touch screen for news and weather, a bistro, and a nice office area with a printer.  Only negative thing was that the sheets made us itch for some reason.  Maybe some chemical was sprayed or simply bed bugs rained on us like locusts. What really brings this otherwise decent hotel into the realm of mediocrity, however, is the incessant problems they have with their internet.  They have this weird system where they only give you 24 hours of wireless, then it expires.  Then, you're stuck trying to figure out what went wrong, then spend an hour waiting on the phone for the tech people, then an hour of troubleshooting for them to just end up renewing my 24 hours by giving me another 24 hours.  Of course, after a day, I had to repeat the process.  Ugh.

I got a deal through Priceline, but other than that I don't have anything good to say. Overpriced restaurant in the lobby, overpriced veding machines, and the rooms could use a makeover.

Very nice rooms. Pretty courtyard outside. Modern, clean lobby with high tech  widescreen televisions and a fairly extensive food/coffee bar in the lobby. Evening front desk service beyond bad...the only thing preventing me from giving five stars.

It was Friday morning of Labor Day weekend and we're on a cross country road trip, we decided to check out the Cardinals game on our stop in St. Louis that night and needed a hotel close to the park.  This was the place.  We booked the room over Hotels.com for $130, it was one of the few hotel vacancies Downtown and the most reasonably priced one.  Labor Day Weekend, Cardinals-Reds in town, Mizzou-Illinois college football game in town - it was a busy weekend in STL.

The hotel was clean and busy.  We did not specify for a non-smoking room & think we ended up in a smoking room, which was less than pleasant.

Parking was free, the hotel was about a mile walk from Busch Stadium.  We walked but were told that a shuttle van ran from a sports bar across the street to the ballpark and back.

No complimentary breakfast.  Instead of vending machines there is a little snack corner at the front desk & you pay cash or charge the sodas to your room.

    I would stay here again.

This has to be the WORST hotel experience I have EVER had in 20 years.  The entire hotel staff is extremely incompetent, rude and unhelpful.  I had a reservation to stay for 2 nights for a wedding this past wedding and have never had to waste more time and energy to get NOTHING accomplished.  My confirmation email was incorrect twice, I recieved 2 emails and a voicemail stating my stay would be cancelled (because of insufficient reward points)...but the ROOM WASN'T EVEN BOOK UNDER POINTS.  Each time I called to try to clarify or fix the problem I was reassured that it "was taken care of" only to find out a few hours later nothing was fixed with a total of 8 different phone calls.  I dealt with multiple staff members prior to, during and after my stay including Marvin, Jeff and the general manager Ron who still have yet to resolve anything.  I could not be more disappointed or frustrated.  I will never stay at this or any marriott EVER again.  BEWARE

Good location just outside of downtown.  If you hit all the lights you could make it to the arch/river by car in 5 minutes.  This particular Courtyard has the updated lobby that has been rolled out to this brand, but the rooms have a bit more work to be done.  The soundproofing is minimal, so be prepared to hear water running next door, cars outside, and people walking in the hall.  As far as the comment about the internet needing to be refreshed after 24 hours, well that is just normal Marriott operation (iBahn etc).  The important thing to remember that is you get free WiFi that is fairly fast (about 4 Mbps upload and download).  Nightly rates seem to be very aggressive for this Courtyard, so given the value I would recommend.

    service, service, service!

Great and friendly people working at check in who made my extremely short stay very pleasurable.  It's not a 5 star hotel but they definitely have 5 star service!

The dreary exterior didn't seem too promising but we were pleasantly surprised once we walked in. The lobby is refreshing and modern with a convenience store to buy snacks. Rooms were adequate and computers/printers were available to print boarding passes. All of this plus free parking gives this place great value. I like!

We were pleasantly greeted when we arrived and were quickly checked in and given the keys to the room.  They even asked if my co-worker and I wanted rooms close to each other which I thought was nice considering most places just put you where they want.  We got rooms on the top floor next to each other which enabled us to coordinate our schedules nicely.

The rooms were spacious and clean, beds were firm yet comfortable.  They offered a variety of TV shows and you could order movies if that is something you were interested in.  Bathrooms were clean and the vanity area offered a small coffee maker with enough supplies to make up to 3 - 4 cups depending on how much you drank.  They were even nice enough to give me complimentary toothpaste seeing as how I overlooked that item while packing.

I would definitely stay here again when on business.  If I was traveling for leisure I might choose a location closer to downtown where there are probably more options for dining and shopping.

Planned a trip back home for my mom's birthday, and decided to use the Name Your Own Price feature from Priceline for my hotel. They popped up with the Courtyard by Marriott downtown for $42 a night. Got to town the day of Game 6 of the World Series, and couldn't have been happier with my hotel. They have free parking, a bank of computers that are completely free, friendly/knowledgeable staff, and a pretty good sized plasma in their sitting area that was showed both games 6 & 7, for folks that weren't going to Busch Stadium. The room was comfortable (ground floor, courtyard view), and the only thing I can think of that I didn't like about this spot....75 cents for local calls.

Great place to stay. Great staff. Food in bistro is good, but,  need to change more frequently.

Traveling on business to St Louis I was concerned about picking a hotel in the downtown area but needed to closeby for my business meeting. I was greeted the minute I walked in the door and the front desk staff was very accomodating. They even suggested the corporate rate for the company I was in town doing business with, which saved me $40. They also gave me a coupon for free app or dessert at a nearby restaurant. The lobby is fresh and clean (newly remodeled?) with the Bistro for food and drinks. The rooms clean and comfortable. I would stay here again. They are getting it right.

This place is not too bad. Looks are most definitely deceiving. From the outside its this bland tan place but inside it's very chic and modern. The rooms itself are okay. It doesnt really match outside but it's not like its nasty or anything. I really enjoyed my stay here. The receptionists are nice and what not. The bistro there isn't too good though, it's also overpriced so yeahh, go down the street to the union station and eat there insteadd.

Conveniently located on the outskirts of downtown, which I prefer so that I don't have to deal with all of the downtown traffic.

Free parking and wi-fi are the two main things I look for when shopping for a hotel. This location has both.

Love the new lobby, but hate they've done away with the free coffee!

    Room was clean and comfortable.

The only thing the room needed was a flat screen TV, otherwise it would have been perfect.

The place was clean, the staff was polite, but I was a bit disappointed. I expected a bit more from a Marriott. The dust ruffle on our bed had HUGE stains on it, the air conditioning in the room was really shoddy. We had it set to 68 and we were waking up in the middle of the night sweating. I never used a single blanket!  We stayed on the third floor, and had a fantastic view from our balcony, but the balcony itself was disgusting. It was covered in bird droppings and other crud.
The internet they offered was mediocre, but you could "upgrade for only $4.95 to high speed!" No thanks.  The room itself was very tastefully decorated, but I was a bit shocked at how small it was. It didn't offer a microwave, which was a bit off-putting to me.  The establishment offered a restaurant with exorbitant prices.  When we went to it to purchase drinks, the attendant rudely stated they weren't serving food anymore. My husband pointed out he just wanted to purchase a couple drinks (which he had in his hand.) The employee then rang us out, then he went BACK to cooking food!
All in all, it wasn't terrible, but I think we'll explore other hotels in the future if we go back.

Yes yes yes! Marriott does it again for me. If you don't need to stay downtown but want to have easy access to downtown, the highway, and other attractions outside of the downtown area, this hotel is a great compromise. Getting a taxi to come here is easy as pie too. Also, free parking. Yes, FREE. The exterior of this hotel does not seem inviting in the least, but the inside is fresh, modern, and clean. I love the mid-century modern hip thing that they have going on in there. The staff was welcoming, and even the housekeeper was kind enough to point me to the ice machine when she could tell I was wandering around. My room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The linens were fresh without being chemical ridden, which is a pet peeve of mine. The little cafe/bistro that's in the lobby area is pricey but convenient with a few good selections to pick from. This is my second time staying here, and it won't be my last!

First of all, we did not pay for our room with cash, but with points. I think my review would have been much more harsh if I had paid for this with my hard earned money rather than rewards points.

Annesha at the front desk was awesome. She was very friendly and helpful. She was the one that actually checked us in and out, so I really didn't have much contact with other people working there. She was awesome with getting us checked in a tad early!

Upon first arriving, we were please to have free parking. The lobby was nice, spacious, modern, and likely recently updated.

When we got to our room, we were pleased with the modern decor again. The bed was one of the best beds I've slept on in a hotel. There weren't many pillows, though. If we were to stay more than one night, I would have requested more pillows.

Also, we had a problem with the "book" that comes with the room. You know, the one that tells you information about the hotels amenities and usually gives information on local restaurants. It was GROSS! It was sticky and some of the pages were basically blank because the printer ran out of ink. Also, the brochures inside were 2 months old. My husband let the front desk know, and the gentleman said he would get us a new one, but we didn't receive one. It's wasn't a huge deal breaker, but some follow-through would have been nice.

The pool area was dated, but was clean.

Probably the best thing about this hotel was that it was very close to downtown.

We might consider staying again, but the price would have to be lower that the $150/day that was posted for this hotel when we stayed.

People love stars they twinkle and and are shiny but asteroids suck and I would totally give this Marriott no stars and 5 asteroids.
I stayed here with a room block and yes the location is really convenient...however the accommodations and service were quite horrendous. We got in late on Friday around 1:30 am from off the road but the door was locked. Security let us in. But there was only one desk clerk to check us in and she wasn't there. She was handling another guest issue but it took her 20 minutes to return. So we waited. One of the comforters had something nastasty yes Made up a word nastasty on it totally gross I will post pics if my girl took some. The glasses looked like they weren't washed but licked clean by someone with over active saliva glands. The glasses still looked wet even dry. We try to communicate our issues to another woman in the morning and her attitude of indifference was a bit astonishing. Maybe her Kurig was down at home and didn't have a pick me up before work but she seemed aloof regarding our complaint and inconveniences so fast forward to check out, we stand in front of her it's around 2am to settle our bill. WWe stand there and she says nothing, now there are certain times being invisible as a lady is a good thing especially around the drunk Raiders fans that descended upon the city  she finally acknowledges us  then the lady took 20 minutes ( pause Sidenote: I need to play that number for powerball seems to be heavy in rotation ) to complete our bill which we divided in two right down the middle. Maaaaaaaaan I woke up and had been charged not once uh uh not twice that's too nice right? no three times three friggn times! I almost fell out the bed thank ( insert your higher power here) for Chase alerts! Anyhow the Olivia Pope style damage control was impressive by management. The morning shifters on staff at the desk seem more polite than the third shifters. The manager called me personally on his off day to resolve the issue immediately (up top for on point management ) anyhow second time in two different cities a courtyard has done this. Feeling like I would rather rent a room from the manager  than inside at his family home instead of being a guest here again . Lucky I'm so close to the interstate I can't wait to get out of this place. I appreciate the quick response of the management and their willingness to accommodate us through reducing our room rate. I'm a happy irritated semi broke customer now lol....surely Chase will remove the charges and give me my money back

Stayed here for one night while traveling across the country, and had a longer list of cons than pros...

Pros - Probably one of the best prices in downtown St Louis. Right near downtown as well, so you're not way out in the sticks if you're in town for an event in downtown.

Cons - The layout of this hotel will drive you nuts. I have no clue who decided that putting the elevator about as far from the front desk as possible was a great plan, but they went with it. Aside from the layout our room also smelled like cleaning products. Now, great to know that I am staying in a freshly cleaned room, but the smell of the cleaning products just bugged the hell out of me. If it hadn't been very late when I got into town I actually would have asked for a different room.

This location is great if you just need to jump on the interstate and go.  There isn't a whole lot of places to eat around the hotel, but it serves its purpose.  The room was typical marriott, decently clean but you could tell it had served many.
The staff was friendly and took care of anything needed.

Didn't spend a lot of time here, but felt it was a value.    Close to the spot I needed.   Clean.  Friendly staff both at night and in the morning.
Really disappointed that shower had 2 conditioners.   No shampoo.   I noticed too late.    Oh well!

After a few poor mis-communications, Marriott pulls through for the Win!

Marcus (Mgr) was kind when I met him and nothing but genuinely kind when he apologized for the experiences I went through with an unsatisfactory room. Neil was put in charge making sure I was put into a new room. The new room was a suite and was beautiful and spacious. I did not put this room to waste and utilized it to it's fullest. The living room area was really relaxing and the bedroom was huge!

I extended my stay and from that day forward I was always greeted with a smile from the staff. There were no ill feelings and that really put me at ease. These truly are Great people. Shout Out to Neil and his wonderful hospitality!

Wonderful Stay (and rumor has it that my potential stay with the Hilton Union Station would have been very disappointing, room-wise - from workers who stayed there)

    Thank You Marriott!
