Stayed here based on reviews and were VERY glad we did.  It is a bit of a drive to get to things but we didn't mind at all because of our experience there.  Staff is friendly, Facility outstanding and breakfast awesome.  If we return to St Louis, we will definitely stay again.

This was our first trip to St. Louis and it happened to coincide with the Cardinals' play-offs.  It was difficult to get a hotel downtown.  We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews and we were thoroughly delighted.  The people of St. Louis were welcoming and hospitable, including everyone we encountered at the hotel, from the night concierge to the housecleaning staff, the daytime desk clerks, the kitchen staff.  Everyone treated us with respect.  The rooms were spacious and clean and still had the "new house" smell.  The bathrooms were likewise clean, everything polished.  The amenities included in-room coffee, refrigerator, and microwave, all new and in working condition.  The televisions were HD flat panels.  There is free wifi, at a medium speed.  The complementary breakfast consisted of make-your-own Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, fruit salad, Yoplait yogurt, selection of baked goods (muffins, bagels, bread, danishes, English muffins), sausage or bacon, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, milk, juices, coffees, teas, hot cocoa, and USA Today.  The only criticism we have was that a few teenage girls were staying there at the same time and seemed to be oblivious to all the other guests: taking up the whole swimming pool for the entire evening, and then taking all the chocolate chip cookies that were offered at night, even stating out loud, "Let's take all the chocolate chip ones."  Not the hotel's fault at all---just the fault of the girls, who should have known better.

Fantastic amenities and service. Great for families with kids. Nice indoor pool. No restaurant on the premises but it has free breakfast, though the food is so so.

The facility here is new and modern, but the real standout is the staff. They clearly approach their jobs like professionals, taking pride in making travel as pleasant as possible for their guests and being creative about ways to impress. Everyone was smiling and pleasant (despite working over Christmas Day) and our housekeepers all did creative things (organizing my son's stuffed animals into scenes on the bed, for example) to make it feel like home.

We checked in on Christmas Eve (we were in town to visit family) and the staff had put a small desktop Christmas tree in our room. On Christmas morning (after asking me if it was OK), they invited my 3 year-old to choose a wrapped gift from under the lobby tree -- a stuffed bear. Small gestures, perhaps, but really moving to a parent feeling a little guilty about dragging his child through airports and hotels on Christmas. Staff got to know us in ways that I have only previously experienced at five-star establishments.

Free breakfast was typical Hampton Inn fare, but again, the staff made the difference with their professional attitude, offering to change lobby TVs to channels we liked, keeping everything stocked and serving areas sparkling clean. It snowed while we were there, and one of the office staff workers cleared the sidewalks as soon as flakes would land.

The rooms reflect a new approach, and incorporate wonderful details that seem obvious but aren't present at most hotels. There were plenty of outlets, lights were easy to control, and there was a great up-directed LED light over the window that was perfect for leaving on through the night to prevent midnight stumbles. Our standard room included a microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee machine in addition to a large flat-screen TV. Overall, the room conveyed an aesthetic sensitivity rare in hotels.

The location looks far from St. Louis attractions on a map, but the hotel is extremely convenient to I-55 and I-255/270, so getting anywhere is an easy proposition.

This hotel was great! The rooms were really nice and the staff was even better. I have never had better customer service from a hotel staff.

There is a reason why everyone gives this a top rating of 5 out of 5 stars!

When this hotel advertises the sheets are clean - they aren't kidding.  Considering I had gotten bed bug bites in a high end hotel (5 star hotel) in Palo Alto, CA, I was VERY nervous about staying at hotels in general.

I read the other positive reviews and reluctantly booked a reservation.  I am so glad I did!  The rooms are clean, sheets are exceedingly clean (they even have posters in the elevators reassuring you that the sheets are clean).  All in all, this hotel did better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels I have stayed at.

The rooms were not only clean, but very tastefully decorated - all new interior design, proximity key, well designed, clean and pleasant bathrooms (like from a high end hotel), free wi-fi etc. AND great customer service.

I didn't do the breakfast in the AM as I was visiting family in the area but it sure smelled delicious on the way out each morning.

I highly recommend this hotel at this location next time you are in St Louis.

This was our third stay at this Hampton Inn and it was fantastic as usual. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, free breakfast, free parking, pool and workout area. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I could only get away for 1 night and so we chose to go into St Louis. After seeing the reviews on this Hampton I chose to stay here instead of anywhere downtown. Boy, that was a GREAT decision! The hotel is right off the exit but has enough seclusion to feel like its on a main road. The staff was incredibly nice. Upon revealing it was sour anniversary our room was upgraded and we even got a congratulations card the next morning signed by the whole staff. The room was comfy the work out room very adequate, and the pool and whirlpool where nice too. The cookies and milk in the evening was a nice touch too.  We will definitely be back anytime we stay in St Louis.

This was definitely the nicest Hampton I have ever stayed in, especially for the price (~ $115 for a room)! Everything from the lobby, to the bathrooms, to the bedroom furniture, absolutely everything was brand new. Speaking of bathrooms, they were mighty spacious, which is a big plus for me. The rooms have a cozy, modern feel.

The staff were extremely nice for check-in and check-out, and both processes took less than two minutes.

Who can review a Hampton Inn without asking about the breakfast? It may not be gourmet, but it is definitely good. In any case, who is going to complain when this will easily save your family at least $10-20 per morning while on vacation?

All in all, my wife and I were extremely pleased here. The only caveat is the location. If you're going to be doing things in central or west St. Louis, expect a 20-25 minutes drive to and from the hotel to wherever you're going. However, if you frequently visit St. Louis or are passing through the area, this is without a doubt your best Hampton in the city -- possibly in the US! ;)

Wow! Clean, quiet, great staff (helpful, friendly, professional) good price, security overnight, very good breakfast, complimentary cookies and milk 8-9pm in the lobby, and easy access to I-55. I stayed there several times this month on Business and this WILL be my St Louis hotel. Kudos to the Management- Excellent job of management of all aspects of the hospitality business!

Wow. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great bed. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. Feather filled duvets. Free cookies and milk at bedtime. Very clean and appears to be newly decorated.
If you are in this area, this IS the place to stay!

I have to travel for Buisness so I have stayed at a lot of hotels, but I have to say that the Hampton Inn and Suites St Louis I55 is amazing!!!  I have never seen staff go above and beyond to make sure each and every guest are felt welcome and comfortable.  The breakfast selection in the morning is wonderful, and if you are in a hurry they have a grab and go bag ready for you.  At night from 8-9pm they have fresh baked cookies and cold milk.  The rooms are clean.  But to top things off the temperature has dropped outside to below freezing and the staff are out in the parking lot around 7ish in the morning scrapping all the ice and frost off ALL the cars windshields.  Now that is customer service.  I can not say enough great things about this hotel.  All the Hampton chains are great, but this particular location is way above the rest!!!

Absolutely one of the best and friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in.  The front desk is the most helpful I've experienced.  The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed.  They offer a free breakfast that's really nice-eggs, potatoes, fruit, cereal.  Between 8-9 at night, there is milk and cookies before bed.  Truly a place to return to each time we are in St. Louis.

Hard to believe any business deserves this many rave reviews, but it's true.  This is absolutely one of my favorite places to have stayed, especially in this price range ($115).

The staff (especially Elizabeth) made the experience delightful.  She signed me up quickly for the Honors program.  Elizabeth clearly loves her job, and the people who come in the door.  I also was lucky enough to visit with the GM, Tom.  He is amazing as well.  You can tell both the staff and management care.  Elizabeth put me on the 4th floor, which can be reached only with one of their fancy key cards; that made me feel secure as I was traveling alone.

When I asked for lunch recommendations, Elizabeth opened a HUGE book of menus for me to take any of, and made several recommendations, both nearby and across town.  Cookies and milk were a delightful surprise, especially when they saved some cookies for me so I didn't miss out if I was back too late.

The room....ohhhhhh the ROOM! I walked in and melted.  I've stayed at the Hampton Inn near Westport, as well as the one in Salina, KS recently, but this one blew me away.  I love the dark wood, the lights above it, the flat screen TV, the large bathroom, and comfortable bed.  The pillows were a little softer and flatter than I'm used to, but it was no problem with just myself.  The high speed internet worked great! You also get a microwave, and a mini-fridge.  The only two things that weren't perfect were: my fridge made a high pitched buzzing sound, that I alleviated by leaving the fan on all night. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker.  The other thing was the shower head was SOOO high, I couldn't reach it to change the settings, and I'm 5'6.  It was, however, wide enough! ;)

The Hampton is easy to get to from I-55, as well as nearby interstates.  It was only just over 10 minutes to downtown, I believe.  I didn't get up early enough for breakfast, but I am sure it was amazing as well.  The lobby/lounge looked great and super comfortable and inviting.

There are few times when you truly feel appreciated when staying at a hotel. Usually the staff is telling you what they can't do for you, blah blah blah. I've always dreaded staying at hotels because it's just weird. You're staying in a strange bed, in a strange city and you just want to leave your hotel to keep busy. Not the case here.
We stayed in a business suite on the fourth floor. You need to have card access to get to the fourth floor. It was so nice and quiet. The suite was gorgeous and so roomy. It had a jacuzzi, which was amazing also! Everything looked clean. The best part was that they put out milk and cookies every night! The staff is so friendly. Especially Linda. While we were enjoying our cookies, she asked if she could get anything for us. They even brought more milk after it was put out! This will be my hotel of choice when staying in at Louis. It's about 20 minutes outside of the city, but the experience is so over the top amazing, the drive doesn't matter!

I would highly recommend this hotel. Our room was ready when we got there. Even had the pack n play we requested already in the room and set up for us. The staff was so friendly. We have a little one that loves her milk and no matter what time day or night they went to the closed off breakfast area and gave me the, milk. That made it so convenient for me and also then had a happy baby. They had cookies every night which my kids were very excited to come back to every night. If we are in St Louis again we will definitely be staying here. To us it was also a convenient location.

I stayed here for two nights on a Business trip. The staff was extremely friendly the rooms were clean and very nice. The noise level was at a minimum. The amenities were top-notch. I was very impressed. The location right next to I 55 made it a breeze getting to my meeting in the other areas in St. Louis

Daily breakfast was hot and flavorful. The breakfast area was clean well-kept with fresh food. Every night they had milk and cookies which was the cherry on top of this wonderful stay.

Yes, this hotel truly does deserve all of the amazing reviews it receives and is worth seeking out even though it's a little off the beaten path.

When we arrived, and were welcomed very warmly by the staff, the first thing one of the ladies at the front desk did was let my three-year-old son pick out something from the treasure chest. A HUGE deal to him!

Our room was great and very comfortable! A desk area separated it into two living spaces. My son loved sleeping on the pull-out couch and the pack-and-play was perfect for my nine-month-old daughter. On our final night, I mentioned that one side of the room was a little warm and within ten minutes, a large fan was delivered to us!

Their attention to detail is also fantastic in the lobby... from the milk and cookie time in the evening to the fruit-infused water to the great breakfast. We also enjoyed the pool and my son had fun playing with all of the toys. I only wish they had a more shallow area for little ones.

This will definitely be our hotel whenever we visit the STL area!

Absolutely love this place!! For $134 per night, we stayed two nights. These may be the most friendly hotel staff I've met in a very long time! Always saying hi and asking how we are doing. The maid left a note in our room to tell us who she was, and to let us know that she hoped we had a wonderful weekend. Last night, they had a sweet little lady serving home baked cookies and milk in the breakfast area. Speaking of breakfast, it is always hot and fresh. Perfect free breakfast with something for everyone and the coffee is always flowing! Love this place, and we will definitely be coming back!!!

    You want to stay here!!!
