The hotel is very outdated, the rooms don't even have flat screen TVs and NBC was in black and white! We asked for a non-smoking room on the first floor but hey said there were no non-smoking rooms on the first floor so they put us on the second floor. When we got to our room it was a smoking room! We were so tired we didn't even go back to the front desk to deal with it. The pool is very small and room service is only available until 10:00 pm...not what I was expecting given the cost of the room. Apart from all these minor disappointments which were not horrible, our car was broke into during the night! While talking to the police the it was discovered that several cars were broken into during the night. While we were talking to the police the manager came out and offered no apologies or anything in an attempt to remedy the situation. I stead the manager informed us that "this happens ALL THE TIME"! If someone would have posted that we never would have taken a chance to stay here. The hotel has no surveillance so there's no way to identify the perpetrator. There were at least a half dozen of us filling police reports this morning, as we were checking out another police officer was coming to take reports from another group of people who realized they had been broken into as well. The hotel has offered nothing to make this right or apologize for their poor security, instead the manager blew us off and told us it HAPPENS ALL THE TIME! The only positive thing about this hotel is that the housekeeping staff are very polite and do a very good job maintaining the outdated rooms.

I was just there for a hair conference and while I did not stay there, I did get to experience some of the helpful staff. We realized we forgot gloves to perform a service and I ran into the breakfast room and asked a waitress if we could use some.... After a little bit of a wait- not gonna lie, I thought she ditched me in front of all these patrons eating breakfast, she returned with a full unopened box of gloves. I thought that was nice. They took care of our trash overnight and came in the mornings and asked if we needed anything, bringing coffee and water. The bar/restaurant is a little tacky with all their motorcycle crap and the cameltoe shorts the waitresses had to wear. Some of the girls looked a little rough, but they all seemed friendly enough. The food was actually quite impressive. I saw salads and after much deliberation (all the foods had funky biker names which made it difficult) I had the sliders on the first day and the chili the second. Sliders were good, chili was better, with big honkin chunks of steak. Surprised about the review talking about car break ins. It's not a bad neighborhood by far, and wouldn't you think the police would hang out more in the area if it were a problem? Oh well who knows. The place seemed clean, I would stay there definitely.

I received some of the worst customer service imaginable from Nicolette, the catering manager and her boss, Sarah.  They were both extremely unprofessional and had an obvious lack of care or concern.  My wedding reception was held in the event space on December 14, 2013,  and ended up being a good experience only because of Sue and Josh who were both extremely helpful.  Leading up to the event, Sarah could not seem to keep an employee and we had to go through our wants and needs with three different people.  The last one being Sarah, who I insisted on working with directly.  She said she would be glad to assist us, but pushed off onto Nicolette to handle.  Sarah said she would be there the day of my event, but she was not.  She lied to me several times and made me feel that she was really unwilling to help.  The day of the event, Nicolette had given two different colored christmas lights (most white and one strand yellow) with which to decorate our head tables.  She saw no issue to having 2 different colors of lights.  I insisted that she purchase more lights to insure they were all the same color and looked nice.  She threw a fit and pitched a set of lights across the room and stormed out of the room.  She went and bought more lights and came in and threw them down on the floor, and advised that we would have to redecorate the tables.  At her horrible attitude and treatment of me and my family, I called Sarah to advise her of Nicolette's behavior and to advise her that Nicolette was not to be in my banquet room from that point forward.  I was advised that Nicolette would stay away, so we handled everything with Sue.  As the event is nearing the start time, members of our family were to light candles in the room so it would be ready when the event began.  Nicolette went in the room and yelled at the people lighting candles and told them they must leave the room.  She was quite rude with them and very unprofessional.  She was not even supposed to be in the room at this point, as I had told Sarah to keep her out.  So we spoke with the General Manager, Jason who was told that Nicolette had better stay out of the room, or there would be serious problems.  He did keep her out and away from my event for the rest of the night.  I am now making sure that all people know to avoid this hotel for the simple fact they will have to deal with the rude and somewhat incompetent employees Nicolette and Sarah.

Good location and a friendly staff.

The room was clean but very dated. The beds weren't the best and the couch was horribly worn. The bathroom was just old.  

There's a motorcycle friendly bar on location. The windows are old and don't keep any sound out. I'm on the third floor while writing this and can hear a baby crying outside right now.

When I walked into the pool area it was how i picture eastern Europe.  It just didn't feel clean.  Horrible lighting and just a very blah design.

*Update after the trip*
The price was great and the staff as well.  Just a loud and old hotel.  The annoying bar is actually fun to go into, if you don't mind the weekend cover.  It had a great cover band.  However, not the best idea for a bar in a hotel.

If google or your GPS tells you to take city roads to get in ignore it.  Take the freeway.

This hotel could be quite a lovely experience if you are not very observant, and do not have much use of the majority of your senses.

The exterior of the building is interesting looking, and is surrounded by several diners and class comparable eating establishments for convenience. The inside is like stepping through a window through time. They have a bar in the lobby which is open at random.

The interior decor is tacky but not the worst i have seen. They have vending machines all over the hotel with snacks and sodas. This would be a great amenity if i was a cash carrying person. I could use the ATM prototype in the lobby if i were to get desperate.

This building will be going through a renovation, and looks like it will be actually quite nice when it is finished, so the gritty details of the building now should not necessarily keep patrons away forever.... BUT...

The unforgivable parts:

1. My greatest pet peeve in a hotel: Extremely loud housekeeping staff who disregard the "do not disturb" sign. Day 1 they left a note explaining that if i leave the sign they do not clean the room. day 2 i am sleeping in and they are banging on the door shouting "house keeping." and when i do not answer because i am trying to sleep? they try and come in. Then of course they shout to each other and bang around for the next 3 hours.

2. mystery stench. horrid smells that pass through the room and vanish.

3. The either rap auditions or urban support group taking place in the back of the parking lot every night.

I was at this hotel just this past weekend (Sept. 29-Oct. 2) and I was content with my experience.

I had one of the most recently updated rooms on the top floor, so I was quite pleased with that. King-sized bed, flat screen TV, wi-fi - nothing to complain about.

Because of the way my weekend plans were set up, housekeeping never got to come into room until checked out. Everyday they slid a note under my door telling me they were trying to come in, but I had my "Do Not Disturb" in the lock every time they had come by to clean. Got a little ridiculous.

Small elevators - easily crowded and hard to fit the luggage carts inside.

They also accidentally charged my room for room service I never ordered, but after a couple of phone calls directly to their restaurant accounting person, the charge was quickly removed.

The wedding reception that was held here was great: good food and some AMAZING AMAZING bartenders! Because of those bartenders, this place gets 3 stars.

Overall, a little over-priced (even with the group rate I had), but I might consider staying here again.

Would I go back - probably not.  This is an average hotel.  It is fairly clean and the room I stayed in appeared to have been updated recently.  This is a typical Holiday Inn where they don't include such amenities as an in room safe or refrigerator.  The front desk staff while not rude was not friendly either.  There was nothing said other than sign here and where the elevator was during the check in process.  There was nothing to wow me about the stay and I left underwhelmed about the property.

While we did not stay here, we did attend a wedding.

This place offers pretty much all a visitor to St. Louis would need. There is an Avis rent-a-car office onsite. Also a full bar. The adjoining banquet center offers full-service catering. Also a pool.

The wedding was in the Grand Ballroom. Food was decent...I hear the salmon was tasty, but I'm not a fish fan.

The ballroom was nicely air conditioned and the setup for the wedding was nice. It easily fit 25 round tables for 10, plus a dance floor.

I heard that the elevators were tiny and hot and that the A/C was loud in the rooms.

As far as my experience went though, it was a good location for a wedding. We even received a coupon for a free breakfast. It was a buffet, but it was good - especially the bacon and waffles!

This review is not for the hotel as I have not stayed here but I did attend a wedding at this establishment. The sections that hosts weddings, conferences, etc is very spacious and I believe they have at least 2 large rooms to offer plus the foyer for weddings which the one I did attend made us of and was decorated with some awesome decorations but, sadly the food was very lacking and the workers seemed to need more as the bar service was rather slow but they were trying to be as attentive as they could be. For the prices that they charge per person there should have been a few more people manning the stations. However, that said the grounds were wonderful and the hotel looked very clean.

Horrible service but a great location for all the restaurants every Wednesday there is a motorcycle Expo for couple hours outside..   The two pools are cold in the jacuzzi is OK.. Air conditioning was adequate.  they returned my mail back to east coast.  They are horrible people here anyway.  horrible internet.  this was in july of 2013

Use to stay here. Housekeeping doesn't clean your room. The last time we stayed there we returned to our room at night after being gone all day to a mess. We were too tired to ask for housekeeping. The second night was gone all day and no housekeeping again. This time I asked for the room to be cleaned, it was about 7 pm and the housekeeper was on his cell the whole time cleaning our room complaining about having to clean the room. I thought that was what housekeeping was and I've never been in a place where you had to ask for your room to be cleaned. I'm pretty sure we got lice there too. GROSS

I had previously submitted a review via the Holiday Inn website, however it appears they haven't posted it.

Stayed here in May 2013 with my fiance whilst visiting her family.
We chose the location as it was near their house and we had previously had good experiences with the chain.

Unfortunately this one was an exception. The hotel was still a smoking hotel, which meant once we were on our level and heading to our room we could smell cigarette smoke, which was still noticeable once we were inside our non-smoking room. The amenities were mediocre with the pool not working, the lifts had uneven floors & the front revolving doors tried to kill anyone who entered.

On the 2nd night of our stay after coming back from an evening out the hotel had been booked for some function that was going well into the evening. As a hotel I understand this is common practice, however as we returned to our room instead of the wafting smell of cigarette smoke there was the distinct smell of weed through the hallways...

In addition to the smell our room faced the main intersection outside, however due to poor sound insulation we were able to hear every vehicle as it passed outside even from the 4th floor. Not to mention that next door was a local haunt for motorcyclists who insisted on revving their bikes loudly as they left the venue regardless of what time it was. The AC unit wasn't much quieter and combined with these ridiculous couch cushion sized pillows they offered, a good nights sleep was hard to come by.

Had this been a cheap motel I would have understood and not complained, however for the price there are plenty of other alternatives out there and close by that we will definitely be taking advantage of next time we spend time in St Louis.

One redeeming factor was that the staff themselves were courteous and friendly.

Cool design of the room, very modern, love the shower!  Would have been nice if there would have been complementary breakfast or if the business center would have had a printer.  Other than that, nice place, would stay again.

Stayed in the remodeled rooms. Kinda strange not having carpet but after a min of getting used to it really worked. The shower door didn't open at both ends so it was hard to change the shower temp without gettin fb drenched. Bed was comfortable and mini fridge provided. Really missed a microwave and as such I had to throw away some food. A printer in the business center is needed for guests having to take care of business on the go. All in all I'd stay here again.

Do. Not. Stay. Here!

Room smelled like someone had been smoking in it. The floor was dirty and there were dead roaches lying around. Asked someone at the front desk to have the room cleaned while I was gone. When I got back the room wasn't cleaned, the toilet seat was up, and a pack of cigarettes was left in the bathroom.

Also, without any notice they started construction at 7am. For someone that gets in late due to work, that left about 4 hours to sleep.

This place is a roadside motel disguised as a Holiday Inn.

I stayed here in February 2015. The room was very nice. It was clean & didn't smell like smoke. I especially liked not having carpet floor. Down side - the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything going on in the rooms next to me AND the rooms across to me! Woke up at 4 am to the people across the hall. & then again at 6am to children running the hallway (which wasn't the hotels fault). Then it was just constant noise after that & never fell back asleep. But as a light sleeper, this is a terrible place for people like me. I was completely exhausted the rest of the week because I barely got any sleep in this hotel.

I used this hotel for an event my work held in May 2014.  They booked some huge event with 400 teens at the same time.  The kids would bang on our door, yell outside it, sit right outside it etc.  Management was nice enough but it didn't fix the problem.

My main issue is that we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and book again for our July event.  They TRIPLED the room rental rate.  Upon calling hotels right across the street and down the street I have learned this is a common practice for this hotel.  They were dishonest about it and are price gouging.  I would not recommend them for your events/

I stayed here with a friend in mid-January of 2015.  We were going out to events, so we weren't at the hotel very much of the time, but while we were there everything was nice.    The hotel was in a great location near good restaurants (some 24 hour) and there was plenty of parking.  The front desk was monitored even very late at night, and the side doors were kept locked.  We didn't use the pool but it looked and smelled clean.  Our room was quite decent:  Clean, with bedding that was all VERY clean and beds that were comfortable.  The bathroom and towels were also clean.  Overall, this was a good hotel for what I thought was a modest price.  Nothing fancy but certainly good for a short sight seeing visit.
