This place was local to the company I was visiting.  Room was clean.  Staff was professional.

Free internet in the rooms.  Cable.  Etc.  All the normal business hotel amenitities.  The only complaint is that there weren't a lot of restaurants in the area.

The hotel was really nice.  The king sized bed was too big for us, but I'd rather have a bed thats too big than one thats too small.

The breakfast every morning was great, had a waffle maker, hardboiled eggs, muffins, bagels, juice, coffee, cereal.

The front desk staff was really nice too.

As previously stated in another review, no there aren't many restaurants in the area, but we picked it based on price more than location, and there is a hooters right there, and plenty of places within a short drive.

There is also a shuttle to 1 of the casinos, we didn't use it, but we thought about it. We had a pretty packed weedkend, so couldn't really add in an expensive trip to the casino.

Should it take 20 minutes to check in when there are no other customers ahead of you and your room is ready?  Gads!

The lobby is big, the rooms are a good size.  But the gal who checked me in was not the crunchiest cookie in the jar.  She made what should have been an easy quick check in a painstaking ordeal.  Not sure if she was new or not.  But swift she ain't.

When I called down to request a wake up call for the next morning, guess who I got on the phone?  You guessed it!  Alberta Einstein herself.
Here's how our conversation went down:
Me-I'd like to request a wake up call for tomorrow please.
Her- a what?
Me- a wake up call.
Her- you need a call to wake you up?
Me-yes please.
Her-when you want it?
Me-no, 2:50am....I have an early morning.
Her-ok, that's 2am.
Het-2:50am, I got it.

.......think I'm going to get my call at 2:50am???

THIS JUST IN:  I got my wake up call at 2:50am!  Alberta gets one point!

Quiet neighborhood yet close to the interstate so easy access to everything.  If you are worried it is too far away from downtown, etc.-don't.  The drive is not that far and you don't have to pay the parking fees those fancy places charge! Clean, quiet rooms and comfy beds.  We stayed three days and the quality was consistent.  The staff was very respectful and eager to assist.  The rate was great compared with others in the area.   Don't stay here for the breakfast though.  It fills the need, but is nothing to write home or Yelp about. Therefore, this is the end of this review.

Hotel's decent. The room was clean when we came here, suitable to our costs for two nights. Internet speed just fine. However the clerk up front was somewhat animated and rude but not towards to Us. While he was trying to check us in, the phone range twice and he was clearly becoming frustrated and would clench his fists mid-air, answered the phone nicely and returned to us. i get it, you would become frustrated in his shoes BUT don't show your angry facial gestures in front us. Then it went fine from there on.  Disappointed they didn't have anything warm to eat in the morning such as sausage, eggs or bacon. It was mostly carb food with some fruit on the side. But we are okay with this hotel especially when it cost nothing to let our dogs stay there with us.

A last minute booking on Hotwire landed me a three star hotel at the Westport La Quinta. The rate was excellent so I was happy with the La Quinta. Most of my hotel travels lead me to the mid range hotels. Usually  when traveling on business I end up at a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express or similar lodging. I'm used to these types of hotels.

When I first stayed at a renovated La Quinta about ten years ago, I was very happy and extremely impressed. Rooms were fresh and bright, the decor was great and the bathrooms were nicely done. The problems is the the La Quinta Inns and Suites don't seem to have done much in terms of general upkeep and maintenance since then.

Two main areas that this shows up... The first is the general repair of the facilities. Scuff marks are pretty common on room walls. Doors have dents and scrapes from every day use. The bathrooms really are showing age, with grout that is far from its original color, edges of mirrors that have gone grey, and bath tubs that really could use a reglazing. The rooms are clean, but they don't seem to get more than a general cleaning, so you'll find dust on fixtures and around outlet covers.

The second general issue is that as far as decor, this place isn't keeping up with its competitors. Places like the Courtyard Inn or Holiday Inn Express have done a much better job keeping their facilities up to date. Beyond the upkeep, the decor at these other places are much more contemporary. This includes everything from furniture and bedding to carpet and paint. Go to the Courtyard, and you'll get a room with a desk and nice office chair to do work. Here, you get a table and a chair that looks like it came from the dining area. The equipment in the exercise room could use an upgrade as they are getting old and were malfunctioning.

Employees were very polite. The checkin process was very quick and I was very satisfied with everyone that I encountered. Breakfast is the standard in this niche... make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, muffins and so on.

Don't get me wrong, this place is fine, but its not keeping up with its competition. Had I paid as much for this room as the Drury, Courtyard or Hampton Inn were charging, I'd be frustrated. For what I did pay, I was satisfied. But this place is listed as a 3 star hotel and its failing a bit short. Throw a new coat of paint on the walls, replace the hideous red carpet in the halls, do some work to the bathrooms and this place won't need to get rid of rooms on Hotwire.

Consider its price, this place earned my trust. Decent Internet speed, not enough for mass download, by quick enough for browsing, got no pass-code or "pop-up" sign in either.
Clean bathroom.
Every 2 rooms can be link together if necessary, which is good for large group or big family.

Not the best hotel we've ever stayed at, but for the price it was good enough for the night. Front desk (Nancy I think) was so kind and helpful when we got in at 1am after a long day of driving. Breakfast was sooooo disappointing. Nothing good at all.

Great basic place to stay if you are travelling with pets.

The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The location is great too with easy access to highways and 10 minutes aways from everything.

The one star deduction is for the breakfast rush. It tends to get really crowded and you may end waiting 30 minutes to sit down. The food selection could be better.

The best part is that you are allowed to bring your pet for free and they do not have weight restrictions. This makes travelling with my 100lb Golden so much easier.

I am so impressed by this place. For the price we had a wonderful room. It was very clean, spacious, high ceilings, and a microwave and mimic ridge in the room. The suites (as opposed to the inn building) have indoor access so no risk of bugs getting in from outside. The staff was helpful and friendly.

We were there for one night with our dog. They have an amazing pet policy. Also the bed was really comfy and there was ample desk/table space.

I only have 3 minor critiques. 1) the toilet paper was really scratchy. 2) there's a thermostat on the wall for some indiscernible reason bc there's no central air--but there was a very good window unit so that was fine. 3) the walls are thin--we were able to hear our neighbors talking in the evening, but there was nothing that interfered with our sleep at all.

Room was nice and spacious, and came with a fridge and microwave which we appreciated. Bed was comfortable, but the pillows were on the small side. The tv had maybe around 10 channels max, and that was with cable. I'm not sure what time the pool closes, but people were still out there around 10pm making a lot of noise and playing loud music...and I was on the third floor. Breakfast variety is lackluster, and it may take a while to get a table if full. Free pet stay, which is a bonus. Right next to a gas station has a low cost. Area food offerings are pretty poor, but you're right by the highway and can just drive to another spot.

I stayed in many different la quinta locations when I travelled across the country. They take pets which is a huge plus. This location was decent but not my favorite. We stayed on the third floor and the elevator came very slowly. The air conditioning in the hallway was broken and it was unbearably hot. The air conditioning in the room didn't function that great either. It took a long time to make the room an acceptable temperature. Breakfast was free and good. The waffles are fantastic and they offered a lot of vegetarian friendly options. The hotel is located right next to a gas station which was helpful. A problem with the hotel was we checked in late and there were not many nearby food options so we had to starve until breakfast the next day. There was plenty of free parking and I felt safe staying here. I would stay here again.

The room we stayed is was 222 its suppose to be a king bed but it's not a normal king. I have a king at home so I know how much space I should have. Also our room was not cleaned. We went out for the day to come back to the bed not made and no clean towels. Not cool. The water in the shower runs and I could not get it to shot off completely what a huge waist of water. The room is laid out nicely the furniture is dated and the mini fridge and microwave don't seam to fit into the decor. The air conditioner worked well. The breakfast is what you would expect from a low end hotel chain. Cereal, bagels, some hot food but it looks gross. It's enough to get you to lunch.

My friend and I were driving cross country and needed a place to stop in Saint Louis that was dog friendly. Our room was great. Clean, smelled good, the beds were comfortable, and a complimentary breakfast, including waffles. All for a good price.
