The staff here is amazing!  They are friendly and helpful, they make the stay a positive experience every time.

Just half a block from the St Louis Metro, with easy access to Cardinal Games and downtown concerts.  About half a mile from the St Louis Galleria, with plenty of shopping opportunities.

I have to agree with Ellen the staff here is absolutely amazing and will do whatever they can to make sure you are very happy and comfy.

The breakfast is great and evening reception is always good and for you drinkers they keep the wine and beer flowing for you.

The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is the are a tad outdated with the tvs and decor, but all in all you cant beat the location and staff here!

Because we travel for work and always choose Residence Inn, we stayed here for 2 months. They are in the process of renovating the rooms (which is great beacuse the old, dirty and outdated rooms they had before were miserable). The main takeaway from our experience at this hotel is that with the exception of the hotel's manager, the rest of the staff seem to hate their jobs. The breakfast and social hour staff will never greet you or speak to you unless it is to yell at you for making your plate a minute before the official start time of the meal. The food was always sub-par at best, with the fruit at breakfast and the cold cuts during social hour never fresh, the salad colorless and wilted, and the salsbury steak cold and unappetizing. Our housekeeper only showed up to clean our room once a week on average, and when she did come in, we would only do the basics. We had a two bedroom suite and I don't think she went upstairs more than twice the entire time we were there to make the bed or clean the bathroom up there. If we happened to be home, she would ask if we needed service and when we said yes please, she would drudge in with an attitude as if we were inconveniencing her. That aside, the size of the two story loft-style suite was fantastic.Typically, our experience at all of the other Residence Inns we stay in is fabulous, but this one just did not live up to the expectations you would have for a Marriott branded hotel.

Okay, yet another hotel review. The four points of a hotel for me: comfortable bed, clean room, good location, breakfast. So how did this location stack up? Just okay, nothing spectacular.

The bed was okay. It wasn't stellar, but it wasn't horrible. The bed faced out into the main area and hence even when the curtains were drawn light still filtered in. The pillows were not all that great. Those under performing down pillows really are a pain in the neck.

The room was clean, but there were so many little things that drove me nuts. The light switch for the sink area of the bathroom was out next to the bed, the iron was playing a game of hide-and-seek (I found it in the closet next to the entry door), the couch was so close to the TV that it wasn't conducive to watching TV from the couch, and of course the couch was like sitting on a slab of rock.

Location was pretty darn good. Very close to the metro and all the shopping possibilities of the Galleria. With all the construction going on when I was there it was impossible to get to the hotel without knowing all the backroads or exactly when to exit the highway. That was a bit of a pain on the first day, but I figured it out very quickly after that.

Breakfast was good. It wasn't great, but it was good for a Residence Inn. The oatmeal was a bit thick and as usual they put a spoon out to get raisins from a dish into your oatmeal. Why do they do this? The raisins are nearly impossible to get out using a spoon. Give us some little tongs or something!

This is an okay hotel for travellers and would usually get 4 stars, but there was something else that really bothered me about this hotel. I've only experienced it once at the Residence Inn in Columbia, SC. The hotel is made up of a bunch of independently placed building each with 4 rooms in them. This might be okay for most, but it meant a long walk through the parking lot to get to the clubhouse and the goodies in the little shop. I'd much rather walk down a hallway, especially when it's cold and rainy. For that they lost another star.

Very solid family oriented hotel. We stayed in a loft style one bedroom which had a queen size bed upstairs (with full bathroom), then a double bed that comes out of the wall (i don't know the names of those) plus a pull out couch, again with a full bath downstairs. Full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, fridge, etc...). Perfect place for a family to stay.

I took off one star for the mediocre, Mid-Western style breakfast (cereal, hard boiled eggs, biscuits & gravy, etc...). I took off another star for the 1985 style decor.

Don't get me wrong, I thought this place was great for the price you pay and perfect when traveling with a family. We were traveling with an 8-month old who loved having space to crawl around. However, if you're looking for a romantic inn or modern hotel, then keep looking.

Nice little condo-like hotel rooms tucked away behind the Galleria. It was a little difficult to find. The rooms have a full kitchen and bathroom which makes it feel like a one room apartment. They even have fire places. If you don't mind staying in a townhouse (not a single building hotel) then this place is for you.

Perfect for families traveling on vacation.

Some of the morning staff were a bit surly and the sofa bed mattress was the worst I have ever slept upon...with that said, the other beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the evening staff were pleasant...overall, we enjoyed our stay.

All the charm you'd expect of a hotel situated between a highway and the juevinelle court house with the added bonus of daily dosing of febreeze to kill the stench of the last 3000 people who were smoking in your room.  Makes me feel like I need my CSI light to see what fluids are around the room.  Oh, and there's a pool the size of a bathtub, one treadmill and a bike for the 'fitness enthusiasts'.

We were very pleased with our stay & will be back. The ladies at the front were more than friendly & helpful. My husband thought the FREE breakfast was the best he's ever had at a hotel. The room was in perfect order as was the pool. The one and only complaint we had was the AC. Super loud & when it was blowing it would freeze us out. All in all great place to stay.

I travel often and prefer to stay at Residence Inn due to its simplicity and comfortable environment.   Unfortunately, I had a rather unusual and unpleasant encounter with one of its dining room staff at this location.  This female staff in particular kept making comments that made me feel as though I was imposing on them.  One of the encounters, for example, was getting a cup of coffee at 5;30 a.m, because I had to go to work early.  She encounters me in the dining area and comments "we don't open until 6:00 a.m." I get my coffee and the newspaper anyways.  BTW, the coffee is available 24/7 at this hotel.   One bad apple. I am shortening my stay here and  looking for another hotel.  Too bad because, rest of the staff are very nice and the affiliated gym is close by and excellent deal.   One other small gripe is flies in the room.  What is up with that?

Great, solid place to stay.  The location is central to St. Louis and its surrounding neighborhoods.  The rooms are spacious and kept clean.  The staff are always available and friendly.  You also have a breakfast buffet thrown in that's pretty good.  A great place to stay for a Business traveler or even a family.  I will be back (I was there on business).

This is a solid 5 stars.  We had a 2 BR unit that looked like it was just remodeled this year with stainless appliances, granite counters, and 3 LCD TV's.  Everything was excellent including the bed, cleanliness, staff, and price.

Only complaint is there is no Wifi in the room.  They provide an ethernet cable in the room with free access, and wifi from the breakfast area, but not in the room.

As soon as we walked into the lobby we were greeted with a smile.  We arrived a few hours earlier than expected, they saw there was a room ready and got us in.  Room was very clean, decor was nice, and it felt comfortable.  We were told about their Social Hour Monday-Thursday @ 5:30pm and attended.  I am very happy about this place and wish I was there longer.

5 Stars was given based on:

    Fast Service
    Friendly Service
    Cleanliness of Rooms
    Professionalism of Staff
Decor, all Items Stocked and Comfort.

    Side Notes:
There is no channel listing or line up, which could of been nice.
There is however a company that delivers various foods from around the area to your room.  Their brochure is in the room and it was very convenient for us after a 9.5 hour trip... we def didn't want to go anywhere. :)
Pool was chained up; though it looked cleaned.
Good Breakfast Buffet and Happy hour.

Typical long term stay style rooms. The staff was friendly but there is no valet or bellhop. The buildings that house the rooms are on the older side but the rooms seem to have been recently renovated. Big space, shower has outlets, the kitchen bar comes with a wired ethernet cord for internet but no wifi except for the lobby (ugh, no ipad use).

The Metro is pretty close, just down the street and if you cross under the bridge, the Galleria shopping center is right there. (Crate & Barrel!) The mall being so close was nice.

The Social Hour and free breakfast was the best aspect of this hotel. Don't expect for get your mind blown but hey, free food!

Same day dry cleaning and the AC is strong, thank god.

Surprise gem here. I thought that the nearby highway would be a problem, but not so. Clean and well appointed. The staff here are very good too.

Comfort: The townhome-style units were spacious and would be comfortable for an extended stay.

    Bed: Typical.  I slept well.

Location: A little hard to find, but close to the freeway and the mall, and pretty central.

    Breakfast: Above average

Amenities: Good free wifi, tiny gym

Value: I got this on Priceline for $50 for a late arrival on a weeknight, when downtown hotels were going for about 3x that amount.  For that price this place was a steal.

    What happened to the GYM?!

The hotel was very well maintained both outside and inside. The front desk employees were ok but not great and they had a couple of opportunities to go "above and beyond" with service and they did not. Let me give you an example, I forgot my hotel room keys in the room so when I returned I had to go to the front desk to get another key...I walked in and explained to the employee what I did, I pulled out my drivers license and showed it to her...she did not respond in any way no verbal response...no non-verbal response (no eye contact or head knod) - she made the key and gave it to me and not one word was said. BUT hey...Free WiFi!

My room was clean, no issues with the plumbing or bed or kitchen. Very clean. The morning breakfast and evening social was ok...nothing special but no compliants.

The hotel is very close to the Galleria mall and the metra link (airport/baseball stadium).

The biggest disappointment was the gym, it was small and only had one treadmill, one elipitical, and one bicycle.

So mixed review but A-Ok. If the service would have been better during my interactions with the employees, I would say 3 and a 1/2 but since we do not have 1/2's ... it's a 3.

This place has the big four...
    Friendly staff.
    Easy internet.
    Comfy beds.
    Shower with power.
The plus it has is space... the old style Residence are like having a studio apartment  or a loft.
The other plus is the location... right next to the Metrolink and walking distance to the Galleria (I even walked to Clayton). Plus far enough from the highway to avoid the noise.

If I could give it a 3.5 I would. The staff is perfect, very friendly an welcoming. The hotel is in a great location especially if you're here for training at Flight Safety for an initial course. There are places within walking distance and if you want to go see some sites it's in the center of it all in terms of driving distance. The rooms have a kitchenette complete with full size fridge and microwave. However, this is an older style residence inn in the bungalow set up. The beds were old and not as comfortable as a Marriott bed should be.

We had a great time here at the Residence Inn. Everything was extremely clean. The staff could not have been nicer. I honestly did not want to leave.

Breakfast was great every morning. They had two rotations: biscuits and gravy and a potato-like hash. There was always juices, apples, cantaloupe, various yogurts, milks, bananas, hard boiled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, breads, muffins, english muffins, etc. All the food tasted great. Not only were there all of these different items, but I also appreciated that there were toppings for everything: raisons, nuts, brown sugar for the oatmeal; chocolate chips, strawberry compote, whip cream, etc. for the waffles, which you were able to make yourself fresh. I can't say enough good things about the breakfast. Completely exceeded my expectations.

Furthermore, while on the subject of food, the market seemed small, but well stocked. There were different kinds of beers and wines. Also, snacks and frozen dinners. I appreciate the hotel because you can be as healthy or unhealthy as you would like. That's a big deal to me: I like to be able to choose what kinds of foods I eat, not have the hotel or wherever choose that I can only eat healthy or unhealthy.

The gym was also nice. There were only three machines: a treadmill, bike, and elliptical. I can see how some may think this was small, but right next door there is a fully loaded community center with a large gym, lap pool, spa, etc. I never used this, but I took a picture of the advertisement.

We also enjoyed ourselves every day in the pool, which was also clean. The staff went above and beyond, which I was really pleased with. Every staff member seemed very friendly and willing to accommodate. For example, I drink iced coffee and there was no ice machine at breakfast. The breakfast attendant went and filled up a cup with ice for me. As we were leaving, I asked her if she would mind filling it up again. Instead, she got me a large Ziploc filled with ice for me to take to my room. We were stocked! I was so pleased.

I wanted to be able to walk to the Galleria from the hotel, but as a SWF (single, white  female) I didn't think that was a good idea. There were always characters at the Metro Stop which was on the way to the Galleria. Also, you have to go under an underpass to get to the mall. I would feel good about it if I was with someone, but I wouldn't go alone. This would be a great place to stay if wanting to take advantage of the Metro Link. It is very close. The hotel has a great location.

The WiFi worked great in all areas of the hotel, even in my room.

The Residence Inn Galleria all in all is a very solid establishment. Is it the ritz no but are they cool with you bringing in 5 pets and staying for a week you know it.

The family and I were in room 1311 for 6 days and we enjoyed the pool, the breakfast, and the kitchen to there fullest extent.

I highly recommend this place they even have community dinners (free) on Monday and Tuesday.

    Nailed it.

When you need a great place to stay with kids and pets - this place is it.  It's like staying in your own condo with lovely trees and grass areas all around.

The pet sanitary fee is $100, but it's worth it as they have lots of areas to walk the dogs and you can cook your own food in the remodeled kitchenettes.

Free dinner Mon-Wed 5:30-7:30 (wine & beer) and a hot waffle breakfast every day.

The rooms start at $149 but you can get a corporate discount down to $129. The staff is friendly; housekeeping was able to clean our room at specific requested times since we had to crate our cats.

The only downers were the heated outdoor pool was on the chilly side and the laundry room had some musty smelling washers - otherwise it'd be a 5-star review. The outside access and easy parking can bump it up to a 4.5 if it were possible.

Overall, this was a superb place to stay with three cats, two dogs, and two kids. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Target are nearby.

I stayed here from the 09-02-14 to 09-05-14.

This place is hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in, out of the approximately one hundred hotels I've stayed in over the past three years.  You're basically signing up for an apartment complex one step below assisted living with BOTH breakfast and dinner provided complimentary.  Albeit, dinner isn't everyday but damn, what a steal!

I wish I could have stayed here the whole week because it was like being thrown in prison at the Drury Brentwood around the corner, in comparison.  I couldn't leave a review on Yelp for that hotel separately because it's still relatively new and not on the map yet.

I did leave a Google review though if you are interested in reading it, either through the maps program on any android phone or simply by Googling it.

The rate was 50% higher, with your most basic standard room and the jacuzzi didn't even work, with hours limited to 10 pm.  Oh and they'll chew you out if you stay there longer than 10 pm, even by one minute.

Anyway, back to the Residence Inn.  The room itself is a spacious studio apartment (no lie) with FULL kitchen (I think even a stove), nice spacious den, closets, hallway, bathroom, etc.  They even put candies in a glass container.

There is a laundry facility provided.  They'll have quarter change for your bills at the front desk if you need it.

The only problem I had, albeit subtle, was that the black girls at the front desk seemed a little quirky, i.e. not very friendly, short and defensive, probably because of the racial tension in Ferguson.  A black kid got shot by a white cop recently before my stay, which is why I chose Galleria.

Clayton/Galleria is a great area, central, and near downtown.  No parking charges

There was this construction going on in a residential area over the fence that had loud banging during the day but it was dead silent at night.  It was so quiet I didn't even wear my ear plug headphones.  Peace like that is hard to find these days.

If you're going to St. Louis you should try to stay here, especially if they are running the good deal on Priceline again for the Clayton area.  It was at the three star level when I booked this place in September.
