great atmosphere, friendly staff, shuttle service to the Airport and MetroLink, the only downside is that there are no walking-distance restaurants nearby...so we walked for 2 miles to eat and then got stuck there...we called them and they came and got us - at 3 AM! they held our bags all day for free (some places charge for that) and the entire feel of it left a very good impression on us.

It is very rare for me to give five stars. When trying to come up with a reason for one less star, I could  not come up eith anything substantive. I stayed here on business. I hardly ever come across hotel staff that is so nice, cheery and helpful. Hot tub, swimming pool, and a 24-hour gym?! Das good stuff!

Stayed here on an impromptu trip to see the in-laws. Everything was okay, but nothing very impressive. I would have given 4 stars but the $9 extra per night for parking was kind of ridiculous.

Typical Marriott hotel.  The customer service was great, I use this hotel every week and they don't even ask for my name when I check in, they already know me by my first name.  The rooms are a bit on the small side, but that isnt very important to me as I only use the hotel to sleep.  They were clean and well maintained, so no complaints there.  The regular rooms have old square TVs, but the one time I was given an upgraded room, they had a nice flat screen LCD monitor.  Ate a few times at the restaurant, decent food but not much of a variety.  Prices are high (10 dollars for a plate of mac and cheese with lobster) but thats too be expected for a hotel.  Overall, a nice stay.

The room was just fine, typical Marriott. Comfortable beds etc. Our room had two doors, one opening from the hall and one to the outdoor pool. It was really nice to pop outside in the morning for a swim.

The pool was supposed to be open at 9am. We tried to go at 11am, but all of the little gates were locked. I called the front desk. They accidentally hung up on me. I called again and again, no answer. So, I just jumped over the fence --hey, checkout it at 12, I'm not going to wait!!! Then I was scolded because someone else didn't do their job and open the pool and clean all of the bugs out of it.

Our room was really humid. It smelled like mold. There was a dehumidifier in there, but it was full by morning.

They charge $8 a night to park. Shouldn't that be included with the room? They also over-sold their parking lot, so there were no spots. We drove around for 15 minutes.

The restaurant had really bad service, we waited forever, they forgot stuff blah blah.

There were tiles missing over the bathtub so you could see tubes and electrical stuff.

Our flight was canceled and rescheduled for first thing the next morning, so we needed a cheap airport hotel to shuttle us to and from and get a good night's sleep. We got a great rate, and they have happy hour (3 drinks free!) every night with light snacks. The BBQ place next door is great too, and everyone is SO nice. It was such a relief to not have to worry about shuttles or anything once we found the Pear Tree.

I think most have left very forgiving reviews here. What was supposed to be a king bed turned out to be two lumpy double beds and a shower bathtub that doesn't drain. I could hear the rooms as well above and below mine into the early morning. Plumbing volume was sleep prohibitive. This place is a dump.

A really solid Marriott to stay at if you need to be close to the airport, or if miss the last flight home and need to spend a night at a nearby hotel. The staff is very nice and the ladies who work at the concierge lounge are really nice. If you can stay in the Marquis Tower here I would highly recommend it as it has been somewhat recently updated and has new decor and HDTV in the room. The air conditioner in my room wasn't noisy, the bathrooms are a tad on the small side but nothing can be perfect I suppose. The rates are very very reasonable for a full service Marriott.

I was here with my brother for his company's Annual Christmas Party. Food bites worse than mosquitoes in a days old muddles puddle. The staff was friendly, but that did not make up for the less than tasty morsels we were served. The carpet in our section, the East side of the building looked rather dark and dingy. It had recently been vacuumed as evidenced by there being nothing on the rug, except worn down and dingy fibers.

    Great hotel!

The staff is so helpful and will go out of their day to make you feel warm and fuzzy. Literally, everyone I encountered was kind and pleasant. The place just has a good energy.

I arrived after the convenience shop was closed on my first night and the manager happily offered to open up shop for me anyway.

The gym is AWESOME. It's 24hrs and is very modern and a good size. All the new techie treadmills and bikes are a serrious +1. They even offered complimentary cool towels and earbuds that stayed in my ears while I ran. Yes, consider this my confession for taking more free earbuds than I actually needed.

The room was comfortable and clean. The internet was fast and reliable. The restaurant even allowed me to order off their menu to satisfy my dietary wants/needs.

These folks complaining about $9 for parking (in a secure area) clearly don't travel much. I often pay $20+ when traveling and have to park in far less secure areas for it.

This is a great hotel.  The staff are always helpful and friendly.  The facility and rooms are clean and neat.  Depending on which tower you get assigned to you may have an older tube television vice an upgraded HD set.

Clean and environmentally conscious hotel. Convenient to airport. 24 hour fitness and business center. Affordable rates and amazing customer service. Visited Missouri to resolve complication and the hospitality made this visit quite impressionable. Much thanks to Heather behind the reception.

Impressive convenience shop - they carry every toiletry and minor pharmaceutical, incl diapers, in minipacks. They also have dress socks, dress shirts, swimsuits, and belts; you could nearly outfit yourself for a business meeting from the skin out! Free Internet terminals in there too, just ask for activation.

Good soundproofing in the rest of the hotel; we couldn't hear any planes, just the kid screaming in the hallway. Staff were friendly and the decor was nice.

It's a hotel by the airport. Basically it's not as nice as staying in the city and people rarely stay more than 1 night. From the outside it looks old and run down. Inside is a little better. Staff was very friendly & helpful. It was clean, but I thought the rooms were a little small. No wifi was a major negative. Bed was comfy but bathroom was very small. Not my first choice to stay, but its better than some of the other options nearby.

Im personally a fan of Hilton. My friend got good rates here for our weekend in STL. The room was clean it just seemed... idk outdated? Maybe it was the location and the hotel. I would stay here again but not by choice. Also, the coffee stand by the front desk serves Starbucks, but it doesnt taste the same. Also their baked goods are definitely NOT Starbucks!

If I could give ZERO stars I would! After kindly asking Justin, the front desk "manager" to please give us a quiet room in preparation of our long journey of course our room was right next to the ice machine! Oh, plus the smell of pot was strong and potent throughout the hall and seeped through our room. After letting them know via phone and person nothing was done! I should have known from the initial sight with bulbs from the lighted sign burned out. UNACCEPTABLE!

It's about 10 minutes from the airport. From the outside you see 2 towers and a motel-type building. They are going through a full lobby remodel and it looks like it's going to be very nice. I was in the tower where check in is located and the lounge is in the opposite tower. Even though I am Marriott Gold, I got a fairly small room, but it's clean and airy with a flat screen TV. I love the Marriott shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion, but their coffee leaves a lot to be desired. Too bad Starwood has in-room Startbucks coffee locked up.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. Wi-Fi in the rooms was fast for about 30 minutes (while I was writing this review) but has since slowed to a c-r-a-w-l.

Frankly, most Sheratons are nicer, but you can't beat the location.

Unused to stay here a lot until I couldn't stand the dinginess and lousy service.  However, today, they had the only room in town.

I forgot why I hate this place.  Damp carpets, desultory service -- cheerful but incompetent -- and now, no Internet in the top floor, last room.  Maybe they could spring for a few extra boxes?  The lobby is being renovated, but the guest rooms and floors are the worst.

I'm ashamed to be a Marriott Platinum Elite -- how can I be loyal to a chain with a hotel that is so consistently lousy?

I stayed here for a convention this weekend. Fortunately, some friends let me stay in the room for free, so all I paid for there was food and convention admission.

The lobby and pool areas are beautiful. Also, the staff in the lobby were also very polite and friendly. But that won't make up for the lack of actual service we got.

The room looked nothing like the picture, and the cheaply made coffee maker sprayed more water onto the desk and chair than into the cup. Lots of channels on the TV didn't even work, either, they just had a blue screen. The walls were quite thin as well. Another annoyance was that the lock only recognized the keycards about half of the time. Getting into the room was a pain.

Despite the fact that I almost bumped into at least one housekeeper every time I left my room, nobody bothered to clean anything. Our tiny trashcans overflowed quickly, and when housekeeping did not change them, one of the girls in my room went down to the lobby to ask for another one. We never got it. So we gathered everything into a trash bag and left it out in the hall, hoping an employee would pick it up.

They did not. I also noticed wine glasses that had been outside rooms for at least a day, too.

We were also charged an extra $20 for parking, even though none of us had a car with us. Fortunately we were able to sort that out.

    $10/night parking.
We departed from the hotel at 6:45am our first day and arrived back around 4:45pm that evening. Our room had not been cleaned. Called the front desk and the said they would "send someone right up".  45 min later...no room service. Got back to the hotel that night at 10:30ish and while the room had been somewhat cleaned, they had not replaced the coffee. Also, breakfast buffet was going to be $17.30 per person! Front desk staff and Bona, the concierge, were outstanding. Will not stay there again, and would not recommend it.

Polite and respectful service.  Larger rooms that were quiet.  AC could have worked a little better. Couldn't get cooler than 70 degrees in the room and it was May.

My biggest complaint is that of the theft that occurred from my room while I was out of the room for a funeral.  The cleaning staff sifted through all my clothes and mixed my dirty clothes and clean clothes together and then stuffed them into one of my bags.  Thus far, I have only noticed that they stole a blue Nike running shirt that I wore for a morning run, prior to showering and heading out for a funeral.

Don't leave your laptops or credit cards in your room unattended.  They will likely go missing.  But what else would you expect from St. Louis?

I needed assistance with an issue related to flight times, and Nikai Travis at the front desk was super. Not only did she help me accommodate my change in schedule, but she was cheerful and pleasant the whole time.

It is a pleasure to go to a property and have a friendly staff leader help like this. The property and location are always secondary to service, and she deserves five stars herself.

This is another place I want to give a 3.5. If you're attending FSI it is close to the school so the drive is short, but anything else you want to do will require a bit of a drive. If you're staying here for less than a week it is a good pick, anything longer you might want to change. If you do pick here you have a choice between 2 towers. The Marquis tower has rooms that were renovated 5 years ago. It has HDTV, but you have to walk to the other tower to access the gym or executive lounge. The Main tower is being renovated as I type this. The rooms are a bit nicer than the Marquis. What gets me is why there isn't HDTV on this side. What is stopping them from putting it in this tower, but the gym and executive lounge are just an elevator away...So, pick your poison on what is more important. In hindsight I'd go to the Marquis tower and just enjoy the walk.

Epic fail...It was one bad thing after another here.  It all started with my room not being available...My first room had two small beds and smelled like an old shoe..I should have known based on the dehumidifier in the room...After switching to a "better" room, I noticed the ancient furniture and wallpaper peeling of the wall...yuck...To top it off, my alarm clock light did not work, and I did not get a wake up call...If you want to make your flight, this is not the place for you.

Very disappointed for a marriott, they charge extra for everything, even for parking.

The room was average and small, like being in New York.

The worst part was the people and all the noise, the people seem be coming from a "worst dressed" convention or the just had a lot of strange people that week

I travel roughly 330 days a year for my job, I always stay with Marriott and was very disappointed in this property. The outside looks horrible, very out of date. Parking is a nightmare and costs $10 a day as a guest. The east tower where the concierge lounge is, it's pathetic, the rooms in the east tower are highly outdated, paint is peeling off the walls. Only thing is this room that was modern was the TV. Internet drops connections all the time, the Wifi literally disappears, laundry is in the west tower on the 3rd floor, if your staying in the east tower be prepared to lug your dirty cloths through the lobby and restaurant area. One your in the west tower you'll be in for a big surprise and pissed. The west tower was recently renovated and looks much nicer. I am a platinum elite member with Marriott, so they automatically put you in the east tower, which is old and run down. Your better off staying at a different Marriott.

We drove here from Minneapolis and called the previous day to check in letting them know we would be early they said they will have a room for us. We arrived and they did not have a room ready. In fact they did not have our room ready until 4.5 hours later (2 hours past regular check in time).

I think this place has come a long way.   First time I visited I wasn't too impressed.   Now the remodeling is done and it's really nice inside.   I think the parking needs a better set up. But I understand why they have the key swipe.  If you need a place near the airport, check it out. Prices are right and the rooms are very nice. The restaurant has very good food.  A few local beers on draft too.

If this hotel was not going through a huge remodel - I would huge renovation I would have given it two stars. Either way - I will not return to this hotel.

The check in line at 9:30 pm was 15 people deep - the place was a freaking zoo and the lobby is located a mile from my room - I thought I was walking back to the airport! The price was extremely high for this location and the overall hotel service was lacking.

My room was small, but extremely clean with crisp bedding that smelled fresh. However, the only bathroom smaller then this hotel room's bathroom was on the airplane I flew in on - this was incredible small.

The view stunk and the parking - though plentiful was normally a long walk to where you wanted to go and it cost to park there. Again - nothing impressive or good enough to make me want to return.

The guest computers for check in worked - once you found them and the restaurant staff was very good - nothing great, but very good. The food was very good, but the price made it less attractive.

The pool area was incredible though - even though I never found the time to use it. this is as good as this review will get, because I never plan on going back. It will either be downtown or the Renaissance by the airport for me!

This is a no frills hotel. This place charges for basic amenities most places offer complimentary. You have to pay to park, to use Wi-Fi... The room is comfortable, spacious. The location lacks anything remotely resembling civilization, it's only convenience is the Airport location and the freeway.

The hotel looks old and dated from the outside, but it was surprisingly clean and modern inside. The proximity to the airport is great. The rooms are nice, clean, with in-room coffee maker which I love.

The walls are thin, you can hear any noise in the hall. The restaurant was terrible. Avoid the restaurant, especially in the morning. Buffet food containers constantly empty, terrible service. They seemed annoyed that you even wanted their help.

Friendly and knowledgable bar staff. Several local beers on tap and a few more in bottles. Service was fast -- but surprisingly chatty. Recommendations were given when we said we were from out of town, and the bartender even bought us a round of beers!

Modern, lounge-like ambience also. I'd say if you're staying in St. Louis, this is a good place to spend the night (despite its somewhat dated exterior).

This is my first time staying at this hotel once I got here I was greeted at the front door with a very enthused staff. Which didn't stop there at check-in the service was top-notch again staff again was very gracious and made  check in a breeze. Once I made it up to my room the room had a nice standard size king bed room which looks well-maintained and clean. after relaxing,  my crew made it down to the hotel restaurant/bar I was the last of the three of us to sit at the table I was immediately greeted by Robbie who was not our waiter but was over the food and beverage department I hope I got that right he brought an extra menu and drink list to the table. upon walking up he was very friendly and engaged everyone in conversation made sure everyone was having a good time and if we needed anything to just let him know he was also very knowledgeable about what drinks they had available and if they didn't have something particular he knew what was similar to taste. Shortly after Jenny our waitress came over she asked us our name which I have never been asked before she was so upbeat and happy and knowledgeable of the menu and surprisingly she remembered all of our names throughout service. One of the people I was with had the chowder and said it was wonderful and feelingly. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted so I went with the burger I thought you couldn't go wrong and I was right. The other ladies I was with had wine and I was looking for something like an angry orchard cider  or REDDS beer which they did not have but they did have a Stella Cidre which was very identical. I was overall very pleased with my stay I hope to be coming back to this location when I am in St. Louis again on business. The outside of the hotel you could definitely tell it wasn't new once getting inside you could tell it was more modern updated

Modern, decadent lobby, restaurant, coffee shop and meeting areas!  Then there's the throwback hotel rooms with the big box TV, AC when setting heat to 76, remains at a cool 65.

Started this review in April 2014.

Now it's May 2014 and...  hey now... check out the renovation!  Great new room interiors, flatscreen TV, big fluffy beds and multiple electrical outlets!  Reading light on the headboards, fridge...  Outdoor pool with cabanas is coming eventually, while the workout room is warm and stuffy.  Great staff, lobby bar and TVs!  Top it off with a glass of La Crema Pinot Noir.  Improvements are looking good.

Weather is better in the rooms, too.

This is a classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. We needed a place just to rest our heads but since there was a home Cardinals game, hotel prices were high around the downtown area. Thanks to Priceline, we scored this hotel (about 20 minutes from downtown) for $70. Driving up we weren't really impressed with the outdated and somewhat dirty exterior however when we walked in all was different. It was spotless, trendy and modern.

In the lobby there is an array of cool lighting, a bar and ample seating. Check-in was easy and our rooms were comfortable with lots of space.

Why 3 stars? Well, we had to pay $10 to park. For a hotel this nice a parking pass should be included in the fee.

Had an unexpected layover at stl and did a priceline.com search.  Landed this hotel and I can't say enough nice things.  The exterior may be dated but the interior is fabulous.   Upon arriving I was greeted multiple times and was quickly service by wonderful front desk personnel who were so curtious and friendly.  My room was clean and comfortable with modern amenities.  They had live entertainment inside and outside by pool.   I first remained inside, listening to the dualing pianos and had a wonderful roasted corn chowder at the bar.  The management was very hands on and assisted the bartenders due to the crowd.  They asked me my name once and I was addressed by it all evening, just a nice personal touch.  I then went outside where Jason Chase was playing cover music.  He was amazing. The poolside decor and furniture is wonderful...cabanas, a bar, two pools with sparkly floating lights.   Great ambiance!  Again, the servers were exceptional.   Slept great and probably overstayed my welcome with the late checkout.  Had a lot of time to kill before my flight so decided to lunch it.   Again with the service!  Wonderful!  First name basis again and super attentive.   Had a wonderful Bistro Burger cooked to perfection with yummy sweet fries.  Getting ready to depart via the free shuttle service.   I can honestly say that out of all my recent travels this was one of the most pleasurable experiences.  It's so nice to be able to write a lengthy positive review!  Keep up the good work!

The hotel looks ancient from the outside.  We were a little bit worried driving in, but there has been a lot of upgrading on the inside.

The lobby and first floor had most of the upgrades.   The rooms still seem a bit dated and could use some cleaning.  It's not horrible but not 4 star.

It is super close to the car rental place.  There's a massive bar and meeting area in the lobby that was super popular.  I did get tickets for free drinks, too.  There is also a super convenient place to print out your travel items.

Convenience and price means I could end up here again in the future.

There is no doubt that the property is dated, but I also think that is part of its charm.
The lobby area is inviting with lots of action going on between the bar and restaurant - the open concept is very inviting.
The rooms are your typical Marriott rooms and unfortunately so are the bathrooms.
By typical Marriott bathrooms I mean small, the door barely clears the toilet by 8 inches.

The lounge is a very good size and serves, breakfast and hors d'oeuvres - but unlike most other Marriott hotels their lounge food is actually very good.

The restaurant also did not disappoint both dinners I had there were extremely good, the first evening I had the fish tacos which were really good and the second time I ate the Shrimp and Grits which were excellent. One would not expect to find Shrimp and Grits so well executed in St. Louis and much less at a hotel but this dish could compete with the best in Savannah.

Despite its minuscule bathrooms, the food and above all the staff makes this one of the most enjoyable hotels that I have stayed at. I don't think that I have been to a hotel where the staff was more friendly than at this location - and that includes the Al Bustan Palace one of Marriott's flagship properties.

ehh.. I have a hard time with rating this one.  The lobby was beautiful, the staff was friendly.   The bar had a nice selection of beer, the restaurant had a good (but expensive) breakfast.  The room itself looked nice enough.  Typical teeeeny tiny marriott bathroom layout - have to straddle the toilet to close the door!  Definitely had been remodeled recently but I was stuck in the back tower and on the ground floor.  Lovely view of the parking lot and all of the associated parking lot noises.  Slamming car doors, stereos, dumpsters being emptied at 5 a.m.  Not exactly a peaceful night's sleep.  I wish they'd paid more attention to sound proofing the room when they remodeled.  Overall there are just nicer places to stay in the area for the same price.

Very nice, great customer service, quite at night and the temperature of the room was very nice and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It's home away from home.  I love it there.  It's always the same people when you go.  It's like you are among friends.  All of the rooms are clean and nice.  I always get a great nights sleep when I stay.

The restaurant and bar are great.  It is a great place for conventions.

The convenience of staying there is amazing.  If you travel internationally you will find the long term parking right next door.  Nothing like coming back form Asia and having your parking and hotel at the same place.

The Marriot will overwhelm you with kindness..
