They didn't have a business center or a computer to use which was a bummer, they had  it  but it did not work. They also had a complimentary breakfast which included  make your own waffles, bagels, yogurt, fruit, and oatmeal. Sometimes my  tummy  can not  take that quick cook food.Plus i  can not  eat  YEAST.  And the cost of my stay was very reasonable IF  YOU HAVE A motel/hotel  coupon, Victor Canninton  was a wonderful clerk  if  i  needed  anything he was there with a SMILE. The ROOMS  smelled like  pant that is because they were  upgrading the floor and I was able to change my room  due to  the  smell.

Stayed here on 2 visits in Spring 2009 when I was interviewing and (later) house hunting.  Overall a great experience... here are some more in-depth impressions:

FIRST: The Yelp Map shows this in the wrong location.  The Comfort Inn University is on Mount Moriah SOUTH of the 15/501, not north!!!  And, as you are driving south on Mt. Moriah Rd, the Comfort Inn is tucked behind Kanki Sushi, so pull into Kanki's lot and drive behind it.

COST:  One of the most inexpensive options you'll find in the area.  Great value for your money.

AMENITIES:
1) Free WI-FI... good speed but had to change rooms on one visit.  It seems you get a stronger signal near the front of the building.
2) Free Breakfast... bagels, muffins, u-cook waffles, cereals, juice & coffee.  Keep it well stocked and always a staff member hovering around tending it.
3) Free USA Today, just outside room where breakfast is served
4) Free toiletries at front desk if you forget anything (or run out of shaving cream like I did)
5) Pool & Workout Room... I didn't use either of these, but both seemed well maintained.

CLEANLINESS:  The hotel is a bit worn around the edges, but clean.  The only thing that surprised me is that they have non-smoking rooms but not non-smoking floors.  So you can still get an odor of smoke in the hallway, even if you are in a non-smoking room (but the smoke smell wasn't in my room).

STAFF:  Really exceeded my expectations!  So friendly and helpful!  For example, I discovered I had to print a document and the gentleman on the desk brought me into a back office, put me on his computer and let me print for free.  The staff alone earn the Comfort Inn University an extra star!

LOCATION:  Very convenient to I-40.  Lots of businesses / restaurants in the nearby New Hopes Common.

Had a weird smell, almost a moldy musty smell. The room looked like it had just been redecorated. The bedroom door on the 1 bedroom suite we got did not have a lock. They had a laundry room, dryer took a while to dry but atleast they had one. There is a vending machine with several snacks and drinks. Really good location though.

Walls had fill spots of discolored plaster/patch, lamp shades had burn holes in them, and the continental breakfast had a very poor selection.

I have stayed here many times.  It is quite affordable, convenient to the places and people I need to visit when I am in the area, and near a number of options for dining.  The breakfast bar now includes hot foods such as omelettes and sausage, served in a steam tray; they are not as good as cooked-to-order but do offer an additional option.  They continue to offer cook-your-own waffles, various breads and muffins, cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and juices, plus 24-hour coffee in the lobby.

The redecoration mentioned earlier is complete and all the rooms now have flat-screen TVs, compact refrigerator, and microwave, as well as coffee brewing station.

The staff is courteous and helpful and now greet me by name, since I have stayed so many times.

I believe special rates are available if you are coming to the area for medical treatment (both Duke and UNC have major hospitals), and there is a hotel van that will provide you with transport to the hospitals if you arrange it in advance with the front desk.

I highly recommend this hotel.  It is not fancy but you will not find a lower price in the area and I don't think you will find a better staff, either.

Really, really, really want to give this 5 stars, however....

I've stayed here tons of times - every time I visit the hospital, this is the only hotel I consider.  It's a Comfort Inn - the price is great and it provides everything I need, every time, without fail.  The breakfast has improved since my last visit - eggs and bacon were included this time.  Always plenty of linens, hot water, coffee in the room, shampoo - never a complaint.  The staff are always very welcoming and helpful and take every measure to make you feel at home.  I was even "late" for breakfast on my most recent stay (9:01 a.m.), and they went out of their way to make sure I had access to every item the other guests had.

BUT...on my most recent stay in October of 2013, I forgot my iPad in my room.  I slept on a pull-out sofa, and before falling asleep I put it under the bed.  I figured I would remember it when I closed the sofa in the morning.  Long story short, I did not close the sofa before leaving and forgot my iPad.  I called the hotel numerous times and no one has seen it.  I'm so, so, so sorry, but I feel pretty confident that someone there found it and did not turn it in.

Makes me sad.  I don't think I will come back.  I think the majority of the staff can be trusted with most things, but this was frustrating.  Too much personal information lost here and someone didn't cooperate.

I travel 50+ hotels a year, so I feel my review needs to be heard.  VISIT ANOTHER HOTEL.

1- management is clueless as to how to run a proper hotel
2- it's a Smoking hotel with non-smoking rooms mixed on same food as smoking, leaving your non-smoking room to smell just as bad.  I stayed in a non-smoking king, and my clothes still ended up smelling of smoke the next day from hanging in the closet.
3- breakfast was a disaster.
A) Eggs and bacon ran out while there were still 20+ patrons waiting (they should never even get 1/2 way out)
B) Both bold and regular coffee ran out --- in BOTH locations.  Even an hour later the Bold was still empty.

The manager and owner of this hotel needs to get their act together.  Turn in into a non-smoking hotel, hire a second breakfast assistant, and utilize this great location to provide an excellent stay for patrons.

We stayed here while doing college visits and my daughter left a pair of brand new jeans. We phoned at our next stop and they informed us that they had found the jeans in our room (mentioned by name and number) and instructed us as to how to handle shipping. I followed the instructions with fedex and was told the jeans would be shipped. A few days later, when I called back, the jeans could not be located, no jeans had been delivered to fedex. I called again and spoke to the manager who assured me she would call me back regardless of what she found out. She never did. Clearly this hotel has employees who pilfer left items and management does not care. I would not trust this hotel again.

I would give a 3 and a half. The desk folks were super nice.  The breakfast was so so did like 24hr hot coffee. Wi-fi was spotty. The reason my review is low cause 3 major reasons. The bed was hard as a rock my hubby and I did not sleep well at all. They need to replace the mattresses. Honestly the worse hotel bed we ever slept on. The water pressure was so bad in the shower it took forever to get shampoo out of our hair. They need to replace those low flow shower heads. And there was some damages in the room such as a child must have went nuts with a marker drawing on things. We have no kids so not us and there was torn lampshades and missing light bulbs.  Otherwise it was clean and in a safe location walking distance to things. For the prices they charge I hope they will fix these details. I guess prom was happening cause round 11pm one night some teens were screaming and jumping in the pool. More funny then annoying. We would stay here again but we might bring our own mattress pad...lol otherwise friendly staff dealing with some tough guests. We tired to be as low maintance as possible. Oh and do not order the "room.service" very expensive and low quailty food. Just go out to eat.
