Next best thing to a Sheraton or W Hotel.  Only down side elevators are slow.

What you would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn.  Great beds, clean rooms, good service and unlimited coffee!   The pool and exercise room are both clean and empty.  They also have plenty of outside 'lounge' seating, which I appreciate while stuck in a city for a week.

Lost a point because the elevators are excruciatingly slow, but overall a great place to stay just outside the city of Durham.

I read these reviews before choosing this HGI for my recent business travel and chuckled at the silly people who mentioned the slow elevator.  However, when I got there and waited...and waited...and waited some more for that damn elevator I realized why!  That shit was slow as hell!  In fact, I'd say it's the slowest I've ever experienced.

So now that the bad is out of the way... I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.  As someone who doesn't care to eat at chain restaurants or go to the mall, the option of the large upscale (i was told) mall across the street was not appealing to me, but it probably is for many people.  I liked that the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was decent. And had I felt the need to eat an expensive, semi-decent steak I could have just dined at the Ruth's Chris attached to the main level.

On that note - if you stay here and don't like chain restaurants - try Bin 54.  I had a great meal there.

These people who actually *like* the HGI beds are insane.  The beds SUCK.  Not just at this location, so I'm not dinging them for it, but at the HGI chain as a whole.  Fortunately for me the cleanliness, friendly staff and on-site bar makes up for it.

I received feedback from Hilton Garden Inn/Fayetteville's Guest Services Manager based on my Yelp review. I greatly appreciate the time and thoroughness of his email.  A very unexpected and pleasant response, which is why I'm changing my 3 stars to 4.

I stayed here recently for work.   The hotel is conveniently located just off a major highway about 15-20 minutes from the airport.  It is also located in the parking lot of a shopping center that is across the street from a large shopping mall, so there are plenty of restaurant options.  This mall could also come in handy if you realize that you forgot to pack something for the trip.

The hotel is pretty basic, as it is a business traveler hotel.  The room was spacious, the bathroom was spacious, and the bed was very comfy.  The room also had a decent workspace.  The hotel has a small restaurant, where I had breakfast.  It was ok, nothing special, but got the job done.  There is a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse attached to the hotel, too.  This may outside of the typical Hilton Garden Inn customer, but it is there if you don't want to leave the hotel to eat.

The staff was pleasant and very friendly, too.

If my wife and I need a quick evening away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we schedule an evening at this Hilton. Just to reframe and refocus.

The accommodations are always clean and quiet (Ok, almost always...more on that in a minute.) The staff is friendly. The location is convenient to tons of restaurants in the area, along with Southpoint across the street.

An excellent location. The restaurant is good enough, if a tad slow to get the plates out, at times.

We only had one experience we could call bad in many trips. The fire alarm went off after midnight. Turns out it was a grease fire in the attached Ruth's Chris on the other side. We still had to evacuate the hotel for the better part of 30 minutes.

We let Hilton know about our experience, and they added 5,000 Hilton Reward points to our account.

So, what could have been a poor experience turned into a validation of Hilton's excellent customer service.

Definitely above average in the world of hotels in this price range.

I love the Hilton Garden Inn because I know what I'm getting (free internet; indoor pool; free business center; clean room; clean bedding, including the duvet cover) and this location lives up to it.

There is a huge mall across the street (Southpoint) and a strip mall in the same plaza and a Ruth Chris steakhouse attached to the hotel.

Pleasant staff -- just wish they put out the complementary cookies a little bit sooner in the evening!
