We stayed here on our way from Maine to Atlanta. We had been driving since 6 am and stopped here at 9pm. We did not have a reservation. The staff was very helpful and gave us a great deal on our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. Best nights sleep we had gotten in a long time. Breakfast was very good. More than enough options for everyone to choose from. We didn't use the pool, but it looked great. Vey clean facility, very nice staff, very well taken care of. We will for sure stay here again whn traveling to Maine and back!

We traveled from Providence to Atlanta over Christmas, and stayed here one night. It was perfect. I'm not a fan of Holiday Inn, but this was one of the nicer ones, although a little pricey, I think. The woman who worked at the front desk was very helpful. The vending machine was out of water, so she gave me several small bottles instead. Great customer service.

The room was clean and pleasant, and the hotel was quiet. The breakfast was included and wasn't fantastic but was good enough. The hotel is right off the highway, and there's a Texas Roadhouse next door, where we had dinner.

I would definitely recommend staying here for a night on a long trip.

Wonderful service and surprisingly elegant accommodation. It is a chain hotel, of course, but for the reasonable price, it is a very good find. We arrived late (having not expected to stay a night in a hotel), and the concierge was extremely kind and helpful. The room was very pleasant, and the breakfast--while not gourmet by any means--offered a wide variety of options. We enjoyed our stay.

I would NOT recommend this hotel. We got there after midnight for 1 nights stay & was still charged the full $100 & were stuck in a smoking room (thats all that was available). I wouldn't be so made about that if the room was actually nice!  The bathroom door didn't close at all, the phone didn't work, the room smelled like stale cigarettes & there was crusty stuff on the blanket. The people we were traveling with had to sleep on top of the blanket!  Then the front desk said we should have told them & they could have moved us, but we were told at check in that it was the last room! How can they move us if there were no other rooms available?!? I will never stay here (or any holiday inn express) again & I would NEVER recommend it!!

One night at this Holiday Inn Express . Check-in was uncomplicated and facilitated by friendly, hospitable employee. The room was clean with an uncomplicated color scheme and well appointed with a fridge coffee pot, microwave, big flat screen.

However, I was disappointed by the lack of glassware- hate drinking cocktails out of plastic!

The HVAC in the room was a single unit that was inadequate to keep the room cool during the daytime and barely adequate at night. With the door shut, the bathroom became miserable very quickly.

Also, this hotel was supposed to have HBO but CNN was on the channel that was supposed to be HBO. I called the desk who confirmed hat HBO was supposed to be on channel 62 and he would call the cable company. It didn't get fixed.

Good continental breakfast!

Overall a pleasant stay. We will probably return when staying overnight in Durham.

Absolutely wonderful. Great staff, cute and modern room. Doors are heavy and bang loudly shut, but that's was my only concern. The shower was heavenly and the water extra hot!

Breakfast was included, fresh fruit was missing (at 9:15am) but a nice lady got my English muffin out of the toaster for me while I poured my coffee and came to the table with orange juice refill.

There was a swimming pool with lots of sun available, too!

A handful of good food options along this half mile stretch, which is a bonus. Store and heat up the leftovers in your in room fridge and microwave!

A great night's sleep with no worries.

Free WiFi, free business center, close to Duke, reasonably priced w/ free hot breakfast.

The breakfast though recently has been crap. Yes, it's hot but it's microwaved frozen eggs and sausage shriveled up on your plate.

Flew in to watch Duke basketball game and stayed one Tuesday night. Booked one double-bed room online via ichotelsgroup website for $94 night.

Staff was friendly.  Was told at check-in that I had reserved a room with king bed, but was quickly remedied by pleasant staff member I believe is named Gwen.

Located right off the highway and easy to find. Room located on fourth (top) floor facing freeway.  Did not have any problems with noise while sleeping- and I consider myself a light sleeper. Duke campus was nearby and drove through downtown to eat before the game.  Property was probably on the older side as the room did not have a flat-screen tv as in other properties which was fine to me.  Also bathroom had a chip near toilet paper holder and a broken tile in the shower ceiling.  Hot water seemed to get hotter throughout my shower at night but that can be expected when it's near 20 degrees outside.

Enjoyed the free USA Today newspaper.  Took advantage of the complimentary breakfast in the morning which was served by a very friendly and professional female staff member.  It's not Sunday brunch with omelettes made to order, but the eggs, biscuits and cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven and apple juice were enough for this vegetarian to make it to the next meal.

Overall a nice, comfortable stay where the friendly staff more than make up for what others may not consider 'perfect'.  Definitely hope to be back for a game next year!

It's definitely not a 5-star hotel but it was one of the reasonably priced hotels nearby.

Free-wifi which logs you off frequently enough to annoy anyone.
Free bottled water - although they will give you one or two bottles at the time
Extra linen was delivered promptly at 0200
No shuttle service to and from airport
Parking is inconveniently small
I heard from another site that there's reports of bed bugs, which I seriously considered rebooking someplace but was too late
Small parking spot, one way to only get into the parking area

Clean.  Nice staff.  Conveniently located.  Good rates.

Durham has a lot of different hotels, at different price points.

HIE, in additions to making you smarter, offers a consistently good, reliable and comfortable environment at a VERY reasonable price.

It was a great place to stop for our road trip to Georgia from MA. From the moment we came in to the moment we left everyone was beyond nice and polite. The rooms and lobby were clean. The free breakfast was delish, and not just your continental breakfast. Jamal greeted us when we came in and was so polite and helpful.   Oh and free wifi.

The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The service is good. My only complaint is the free breakfast. I would rather pay for real food than watery fake eggs and bad coffee. It's there of you need it or don't have time or money for good food.

Came in off a 10 hour driving stint late Sunday night. Check in was a breeze, room was incredibly clean and the free breakfast the next morning was delicious as far as hotel breakfasts go.

Clean rooms, great staff, good breakfast, cheap rates for Durham, and I'd stay again on my next trip.

Cons-horrible coffee, no fitness center, no indoor pool, and not to be too petty but no free mouthwash.

Overall a great deal and a nice place to stay a few nights
