This is a mid-range Marriott with a lounge and restaurant.  I think it's a little pricey for that but compared to everything else in RTP it's a palace.  I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone staying in the area.

My second visit here though it's been over two years since my last trip.  The exterior is unassuming but inside is nicely renovated and maintained.  The receptionist was very helpful and friendly while quickly processing my registration.  The room was on the 3rd floor and appeared very clean and orderly.  A large 50" flat screen (LG) was very prominent on the bureau and a good size desk was available for me to sprawl out my work gear.  The a/c was running when I got checked in quickly in the morning (~10am) and though the room felt cool and comfortable, it had a level of dampness and humidity I wasn't quite expecting.  Now coming from the Bay area, and considering it was July here, I didn't think much of it since it was a lot more comfortable inside than out.  I quickly unpacked and headed into the office.   When I returned the a/c was still running and the humidity still felt high.  Kicked off my shoe and was about to order some room service when I stepped on something wet, something very very wet.   The carpet was completely soaked to the point where water was visible and actually splashing from my step.   It appears there was a leak coming from the a/c and ended up soaking about 1/3 of the room (window unit).   A call to front desk and they quickly brought me up a new set of keys to a room down the hall.  Problem solved.
I ordered in dinner twice, both times around 9pm.  One night I had the barbecue pork ribs which were very moist and tender.  The ribs by themselves needed some additional seasoning but otherwise it wasn't bad.  The bbq sauce was standard fare, though a bit sweet for me.   The sweet potato fries were pretty good, but then again, I recently found out I have a weakness for them along with sweet tea.
Next night I ordered the Newton's wings and a chicken caesar salad.  Wings were well cooked and tasty only to be let down by a very blah tasting caesar salad.   Both times, the food delivery was surprisingly quick and the food hot.  I had one breakfast in their downstair area, strawberry pancakes filled with ricotta cheese.  Sounded interesting and tasted the same.   It was a bit heavy on the strawberry sauce and the cheese tasted a bit stronger and somewhat savory.  Not a dynamic combo, but at least the pancakes were light and fluffy.   Service was good and area was bright and spacious.
I didn't get a chance to use any of the facilities but for a business trip, the room and food services were overall very good.

Comments limited to the restaurant.  Visited a colleague in for several days and as he had limited mobility we ate in the Marriott restaurant.  The meal was poor.  Soups tasteless and served lukewarm to cold.  Fries soggy. Deep fried pickles overly breaded (and the breading fell off the pickles) and lukewarm.  Chicken cutlet dry, tasteless.  Service was poor but friendly.  We were largely ignored.  I'm a frequent stayer in Marriotts and this was a real shock.  Usually the restaurants are consistent and good.  Hopefully an aberrant evening but we won't go back to see if that is indeed the case.

Location is great - just a few minutes drive from RDU airport.  Be sure to have their telephone # handy - the phone system in the baggage claim area does not have a speed dial.  You need to call for a pickup,  Rooms are large and clean; The buffet for Breakfast is classic marriott.

I spent 3 weeks at this property. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was very clean. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but I spent a lot of time in the club lounge on the 5th floor.

The breakfasts in the lounge always featured eggs, meat, and an array of carbs. The eggs were of good quality and all the meat they served was enjoyable except the turkey sausage. It just seamed overly dry.

The hour'd'oeuvres served in the evening were very good. They served cheese, crackers, and a couple hot items. The only one that wasn't tasty was the chicken skewers with pineapple. There was something about the pineapple that sent me ordering Jimmy John's in my room that night.

The gym was well equipped and clean. It had free weights, cardio equipment with individual video setups and a free range of motion system that worked for everything else.

I'll definitely stay here when I'm in the RTP area again.

I've not stayed here in a while but I've been here for many meetings of people that are staying here from my employer. I've had breakfast here more times than I can count.

It's an average marriott the breakfast buffet is your typical fare with cook to order omlette.

The lobby isn't all that exciting a typical hotel

I've stayed here on multiple occasions and every time really enjoyed it.  The location of the hotel is in a great spot, though can be tricky to find the first time --it's buried in a housing community off the main road.

The hotel itself is great inside.  It has a nice modern look to it and the staff are great.  It's a full service hotel so it has all the amenities you need from indoor pool, gym, bar, restaurant, shuttle, and great service.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is pretty good.  Like all the full service Marriott's they serve Starbucks coffee all day.

The rooms are the typical Marriott with nothing too special here.  The beds are very comfy with decent bedding.

There is a whole array of restaurants one exit up or down from this location; however, there really isn't anything off the main road where this is located, and certainly nothing within walking distance.

Whenever I visit the RTP area this is where I stay --and will continue to do so.  I really enjoy the hotel and its location is perfect --right off the freeway.

I've been staying at various hotels in the RTP area for a couple of months now so I'm comparing this to these hotels.

    1. this place is hard to find. I've driven by the turn off a couple of times now.
    2. good location if you are working in the RTP area.
    3. Lots of good food selections within a mile or so. None walkable unfortunately.
    4. the outside of the place isn't much to look at but the interior is updated and nice. It's also a smallish hotel but has all the amenities you expect from a full service Marriott.
    5. the bar has a good selection of local beers!
    6. their dining menu is pretty limited and nothing fancy. I have to say that the chibittia burger with Brie on it was pretty damn good.
    7. the workout area is small, couple of tread mills...
    8. The rooms are clean and modern. Comfy bed and lots of pillows. Free Internet (for me anyway).

So why doesn't it get a 4? For one reason - the heater in my room is VERY noisy and seems to cycle every 7 minutes. If this changes on my next visit I'll update the review and give it a 4.

If you are looking for a full service hotel in the RTP area this is a good choice.

This is a solid full-service Marriott, centrally located in RTP. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Staff are very nice and go out of their way to address any concerns or questions you may have.
As a frequent "stayer," I enjoy a free breakfast in the concierge lounge - so get my protein fix addressed easily and quickly. Wifi is free for Rewards members, as well.
Room service food is very good and service staff efficient & friendly.
    I'll stay here again.

This is a great hotel... The staff is really friendly, the rooms are clean and updated and the fitness center is great. I have yet to walk by a staff member without them going out of there way to say hi. Also it's just off 40 and really easy to get to.

We stayed for two nights in August. This is a basic Marriott Hotel but the service was 5 star! The front desk was welcoming and friendly, the rooms were very clean and location was convenient to the highway. It is a classic business hotel. We will return to this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights while up in the RTP area. Check in was easy and friendly, and we were up in our room in a matter of minutes.

The room was fine, nothing special. Very standard for a Marriott--and the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom showed its age--I could see where the shower curtain bar had been removed and replaced with a new one. The TV had a limited amount of channels, which is weird because I had about 70 channels at my last stay at the Fairfield Inn in Myrtle Beach.

We also had access to the concierge lounge. It was...well, average. It wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Breakfast was a little limited, but fruit and cereal was all I needed. The lounge attendants were fine, but nothing extraordinary.

I would stay here again if up in the RTP, but if another full service Marriott offered a competitive rate, I'd probably go there first.

Stayed here the last time I was in RTP (Research Triangle Park), which was in July. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Convenient hotel, which is not far from my Client's office.

The food I did have here wasn't bad, and at the bar, the bartenders were nice.. but not always behind the bar.

A couple of things I didn't like at this place.
    1) I had a room on the Ground floor (big Mistake!!) Every morning, the sink in the bathroom would start gurgling and began spitting out water with sediments, I complained twice and they had someone come out and look at it...  Which didn't help at all.. It also happened at the same time every morning.. Just when I was getting ready!!

2)I ordered breakfast to be delivered to the room and the breakfast came quickly.. Yay for that.. only the coffee pot was.. EMPTY!! LOL

They did bring back a new pot of coffee.. Yes with Coffee in it :)

I would give them another shot with a room on a higher floor.

WiFi is free if you are a frequent Marriott member.

My first experience with this hotel was last month, when they emailed me (while I was in flight) to tell me that the hotel was over-sold and they moved my reservation to one of their other properties.  I wasn't thrilled with the hotel, but at least I had somewhere to rest my head, and they comped my first night.

My second experience was last week.

The location is convenient for business travel to RTP.  Check-in was a breeze, and the front desk supervisor was very friendly.  The room is a nice size, but the bathroom seems dated and the towels aren't very soft.  The restaurant/lounge wasn't the ambiance we were looking for, so we ate off-site (except for breakfast room service, which was always on time, and tasted fine).

I bought an ice cream bar in the lobby market, and it was so freezer burned that I brought it back.  The second one wasn't covered in ice, but when I bit into it, it was obvious it had been in the freezer for a very long time as well, so most of it ended up in the trash.

Then I went to climb into bed, late on my second night there, and there was chocolate smeared all over the sheets.  I can't imagine how it got that way because it was not there the first night, and the only chocolate I had in the room was the ice cream bar that I ate while seated at the desk.  I think the maids must have had chocolate on therm when making the beds???

I was so grossed out, so I called the front desk.  She wasn't very friendly but sent someone up.  He didn't show up for 20+ minutes and then handed me the sheets and when I looked at him, he said, 'Oh...did you want me to change the sheets?' - So together we changed the sheets, which is when I noticed there was even more chocolate on the duvet.  It took him another 20+ minutes to find a replacement duvet, and the one he found was too small, but we made it work.

I am usually loyal to Marriott hotels, but I'll be looking for another option on my next trip.

This place is always great.  And now the concierge lounge is open on weekends too - but just for breakfast and they give you a breakfast voucher for the concierge lounge which is very unusual.  They said we could use the concierge lounge 24/7 but they have the fridge LOCKED so you can't get sodas or water but there is coffee available. Staff is always very helpful and friendly.  This is our preferred place to stay when we come visit family every couple of months.  Just be forewarned that they usually have a college sporting team or travel soccer team staying at the hotel most weekends oh if you were looking for a quiet "child or young adult-free" environment, this is not the place to come

Hotel website says there is a Starbucks "coffee house."  Not true.  They put out a pot on the counter for self service until 930 am, just like every other hotel.

I travel here often for business and although I appreciate the friendliness and support of the staff, the facilities and operation is seriously lacking. Couple of major things to note:

    1. Breakfast isn't included in your room price
    2. The menu is quite small
    3. The business operations are lacking. They promise you things and fall back on their promise
    4. The event managers don't listen to your needs and they push off their responsibilities to other departments
    5. The rooms are a bit outdated for being a full service Marriott
    6. Conceirge level access area, they served hotdogs and waffle fries. Pretty sure that food is served on the children's menu... because its most definitely not food that you would see on their very expensive restaurant menu.

I don't mind staying at this Marriott because I really don't have a choice. But if I did, I may decide to choose one of the other many hotels in close proximity. 3 Stars because the staff is just so friendly!
