I do not recommend this place to anyone. They do have a cozy little lobby, but paint chipping everywhere else on the property. While staying there in the month of May we had the desire to sit by the pool. We were told the pool was not yet open. It was 80 degrees while staying there mind you. When we booked our room we were NOT told that the pool was not open and on their website it clearly emphasized the enjoyment of an outdoor pool. If there are certain times of the year that the pool is closed than it should CLEARLY state as such both on line AND when you book the room. Especially when you have guests coming from way up north where it is still rather cold and the guests intend to enjoy the 80 degree weather by sitting by the pool. We then asked if we could at least use a couple of the lounge chairs from the pool area to lay out on the property. The MANAGER/OWNER of the Quality Inn sternly said NO. We had decided that after our stay there that we were going to file a complaint with Choice Hotels which is the company that oversees this Quality Inn. The way Choice Hotels handled this was they contact the Manager in regard to the complaint and then the Manager takes it upon himself to call the customer that filed the complaint and try to rectify the situation. Well instead, after our telling him how upset we were as to what transpired at his establishment, he denied ever saying we could not use the lounge chairs. He said he misunderstood what we asked that day. After telling us this he did not then offer any solution either, but only an excuse which was that he misunderstood. How about some compensation you idiot? You ruined our vacation you moron.
Here we are now 1000 miles away and this guy wants to argue about it and not make nice. We ended up calling Choice Hotels and telling them how we were not happy that this Manager called our home and how he argued with us about what happened. Choice Hotels ended up sending us a $40.00 gift certificate for another visit to their chain. We actually were in Durham again about 6 months later and we decided to give this place one last try. We TRY to check in and GUESS WHAT? Our name was black listed. The Manager came out and said we were not welcome there. We ended up at the Hilton next door which was amazing and for close to the same price as this dump. We called Choice Hotels and told them that we were denied a room at their Quality Inn and they told us that the Manager/Owner can deny access to any customer they want. They also told us they would not do anything about the $40.00 gift certificate expiring shortly.

The queen bed slept good but is only meant for 1 person or two small kids. Love the Niagara Massage Showerhead. Lots of cable channels and the continental breakfast isn't bad. Take your time and make some instant grits for your sausage. Internet Access and wifi available. My only complaint is hearing the upper floor walking in their room and some loud residents passing through.

This place is a dump and what ever you do don't stay here go next store for just a few bucks more ....this place is what I call a hourly rental if you get my drift ....on entering the lobby there was a fight going on with a guest and the desk manager ......we got by that with little problem but it didn't stop I would not return and will think twice on this chaun

I was not offered a cookie and coffee when I arrived and most important I wasn't told anything about the hotel (i.e. pool or breakfast hours). The room smells musty and it may be due to the fact that the air conditioner leaks and the rug is soggy. The fridge has no temperature control and so all the food freezes. There is no place to go and sit outside if you want to get some fresh air from the stuffy room. On the plus side, the pool is enjoyable and the staff that cleans the rooms work hard. I wouldn't come back to this place though - it is pretty much depressing.

There are a few things that save this place from a one-star review.
1. Free, fresh chocolate chip cookies at check-in.
2. Microwaves in the room.
3. A courteous concierge.
Otherwise guys, you have some work to do. A major ant problem, for one, which was just gross. A decent breakfast selection, but the eggs were awkwardly pancake-like in shape and consistency. A little weird to have only 3 pillows for a bed meant for 2 - lumpy pillows at that. And the vending machine only takes change, with no change machine in sight.
Nothing glaringly terrible, but enough minor nuisances and annoyances that I wasn't particularly impressed. The staff, though, was congenial, and it's location was pretty accessible to Duke and I85, but you definitely need a car to get anywhere. And it's cheap, but it's cheap for a reason.

I came here for a weekend to visit my sister at Duke university for her graduation. Although price were slightly higher due to the high demand, I was surprised by the free shuttle to Duke University for the graduation.
The customer service was very nice. The complementary breakfast was not bad and they also have a nice pool in the back. If I were ever to come to North Carolina again, I might consider to stay here.

To be honest, I've never been too picky with hotels, so please take this review with a grain of salt. This is the first time I've ever been in NC, and upon entering the door, I was welcomed with amazing customer service, offered cookie and coffee even before I told them I was renting a room here.
The rooms, I believe are pretty standard, but there's a working gym downstairs and complementary breakfast in the morning. All this for $50 a night? If I'm ever interviewing here again, I'm coming here.

I've dealt with countless "you get what you pay for" motels, but there is no amount of saved money that makes up for no hot water and a broken toilet that I found myself spending half an hour fixing in the middle of the night.
The icing on the cake? The front desk receptionist didn't give a poop. I paid for hot water, a toilet, and a bed. This place failed to offer 2/3 and refused to give a refund or discount. I did receive a great suggestion to call the manager, but the receptionist wouldn't supply me with a number. Too weird.
They could've at least given me a tip for fixing their disgusting toilet.

Brian Guest Services Rep, you are awesome! Thank you for knowing the true meaning of hospitality. When Megabus stranded a bus full of passengers, you sprang into action....giving them shelter from the rain, coffee, and a sense of calm in the chaos. May all your good deeds come back to you tenfold.
And if that is how Quality Inn trains their employees, they have 2 new guests.
