We have stayed at the Super 8 Motel on W Dodge Rd near N 114th St several times now while visiting relatives in Omaha. The best quality of this motel is that it is cheap.

We arrived at our room and found it sufficient. It was a little stuffy in there, but opening the window and turning on the fan helped a lot. We looked around and noticed that it was basically clean, especially the bathroom, except for a dead cockroach or cricket on the floor. The best thing I can say about that was that at least it wasn't still alive. There was only one bath towel for the two of us, so we had to go down to the desk to get more towels. After the maid cleaned our room, again, there was only one bath towel for the two of us, so we had to go down to the desk to get more. We were happy that tissues were supplied, but they were the roughest, cheapest type, and were like wiping our noses with a sheet of paper.

We noticed that the carpet was definitely not fully clean, especially around the edges of the easy chair and bed. It's like the maid ran the vacuum down the middle of the carpet and that was it. A little more attention to detail would go a long way. The sheets appeared clean. I noticed a large spot on the blue blanket, and let's just say it looked like someone dropped a banana split on it. I left that front and center on top so that the maid could see it and bring in a clean blanket, but when we returned later that day, the bed was made, and the dirty blanket was still on our bed. Gross. The same pieces of dirt that were on the carpet when we arrived were there after the maid vacuumed our room, so she missed them yet again. One morning she knocked on our door to come in to clean while she was on her cell phone, and continued talking on it while I explained that we were still in the room, and continued talking her way up and down the hallway. That seemed unprofessional to me, and explained the lack of cleaning in the room, possibly.

The dining room with the free breakfast was under construction with the tile floor being replaced. Upgrading is a nice thing to do - it will make the motel better in the future. The best thing about the free breakfast is the waffle machine. Pour in the batter, flip it over, and in two minutes you have a decent enough waffle. It's pretty good for a waffle that comes out of a machine. The rest of the fare is kind of just fair - lots of cheap carbohydrates.

On the plus side, the WiFi worked well, the TV worked, although it wasn't a flat screen with HD, and the mini-fridge was awesomely quiet and kept our food and drinks very cold.

The value you receive for the price of this motel is good. I would definitely recommend this motel if you are traveling through Omaha and just need lodging for one or possibly two nights. A little better cleaning jobs on the rooms would go a long way toward making this a much better place to stay.

just a place to sleep...cheapest spot to stay in as a last minute decision...hmmm...I've never had been spoken to or treated rude but, have seen them treat other patrons bad. and maybe it's just me but, every Super8 seems to be a little run down?...

Okay, before you get all "OMG, I can't believe Sarah B. would stay at a low class motel", let me just say that sometimes a girl needs a place to lay her head on the cheap. (I booked for 3 nights, not 3 hours so get yer heads out of the gutter!)

Trust me, I would rather stay at one of Omaha's more classy hotels but all I needed was a clean place to primp before a rehearsal dinner, wedding and baby shower and somewhere to crash when it was all over each night. And, I needed it to be CHEAP! After throwing down some dough on a bridesmaid dress and gifts for both the wedding and baby shower (different couples, mind you..this aint no trailer trash wedding/baby shower combo) I didn't have much moolah left over for accommodations.

Now, I have plenty of friends/relatives in the area who would have gladly let me stay at their houses but in this instance I really wanted my own space. See, when I have several events that require that I look above stellar I like to have plenty of space and time to primp. Looking good is a priority when photos are abundant. I don't want to have to worry about being covered up en route from bathroom to bedroom (I like to do hair and makeup sans clothes, thank you very much), or how much time I have before someone else has to use the john, etc. So, bottom line is, a hotel made much more sense.

I have stayed at this Super 8 several times for the following reasons:
    --It is CHEAP.
--It is CLEAN, especially for a motel. No nastiness left over from previous guests, clean linens and bathrooms.
--the staff is competent and friendly
    --It is CHEAP.

The weekend I stayed they were running a special that if you stayed 3 nights one of them was free. I paid $135 total..you cant beat that when all you need is a place to primp in the nude and crash at night.
