This is my third year staying at the Seaspray Inn, and I can honestly say it only gets better with age. Mary Ellen and Eric are friendly and attentive hosts who have put a lot of thought into every little detail for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The themed rooms are spacious and meticulous, each featuring mini fridges, robes, and beach bags filled with beach towels. If you are like me and need a ton of accoutrements for a day at the beach, they have a shed full of chairs and umbrellas which are easy enough to carry the short one-block walk over to the ocean. The inn is a very short walk over to Asbury Park which is my personal preference for nightlife and people watching-tons of bars, restaurants, of course the world famous Stone Pony, and some really amazing restaurants. Ocean Grove is adorable and almost bucolic, but keep in mind it is also booze-free (restaurants are BYOB but no liquor stores in town, so be prepared before you arrive). Mary Ellen and Eric host a lovely wine and cheese happy hour every Saturday eve, which is a nice pit stop before heading out for the evening. Of course, I've saved the best for last-the breakfasts! Always the infamous crumb cake on the table, along with scones  or other delicious baked goods. This morning I had the waffles (gluten-free by request), but sometimes I will go for the yogurt parfait which is offered if you are feeling the need for something lighter. Breakfast can be eaten out on the porch which is a very popular spot!  Always a fun weekend down the Jerz Shore when I stay at the Seaspray!

Clean, very comfortable bed and a large front porch for eating and relaxing by the ocean.  Lovely  and unobtrusive owners accommodated gluten free requests with delicious waffles, muffins and frittata. If you are looking for a B&B in Ocean Grove, stay here.

Came for a weekend in August for our anniversary.  It was our first B&B experience and it was AMAZING.

The innkeepers were SO friendly and accommodating, with helpful hints and recommendations about nearby places to eat.

The breakfasts were SO delicious. One morning we were served egg souffle, the next waffles.  This in addition to the baked goodies - crumb cake, zucchini bread, banana bread with a cup of fresh fruit, endless coffee, and endless juice.

On Saturday there was a sampling of wines and cheese for you to nosh on before dinner.

It's about a block away from the beach and the inn comes with beach chairs, umbrellas, a bag, and beach towels for you to use. The location is excellent and a few walking minutes away from the main strip of town where there are some good restaurants and local stores.

Can't wait to visit again soon!

A couple city girls and I decided to take a break from NYC for beach weekend in Ocean Grove. We could not have asked for a better time- we jokingly called this place Narnia! Mary Ellen and Eric are such wonderful and gracious hosts.

We stayed in the Dressing Room with the twin trundle bed. They have a great selection of DVDs, games, and the breakfast alone is reason to stay (they even made me gluten-free waffles!).

When you arrive, they give you your own beach bag with towels and have a shed full of beach chairs and umbrellas in the back. They also sell discounted beach passes for $5 (as opposed to $8), and they buy back any passes you may not use.

On Saturday evenings, they also have a wine and cheese hour, and they always have a jar full of either lemon bars or fudge brownies.

The town itself is wonderful, too- probably a 5 minute walk with cute shops, restaurants, and cafes.

I wish I could keep this as my own little secret, but it's way too wonderful to not share for my fellow city-dwellers and beach bums alike. Will definitely be returning!

My fiance and I needed a getaway and we read great reviews online for the Sea Spray Inn. What we experienced was beyond our expectations! Mary Ellen and Eric (and Katie the dog!) were the consummate hosts, attending to all of our needs but also giving us the space to relax and get some alone time. The inn is beautifully decorated and up-to-date. My fiance and I stayed in the Love Letter which had been recently redone and it is as romantic as the name implies! The tub/double shower is amazing and the bed was very comfortable. While the inn doesn't have a restaurant, there are plenty of great local restaurants to choose from and Mary Ellen's breakfast was nothing short of amazing. Since we were the only guests that weekend, we were sent home with some delicious baked goodies. If you can go to a beach town in the middle of March and still have a great time, you know the inn keepers are doing their jobs right! Mary Ellen and Eric, thank you for a great time and keep up the good work!
