Friendly staff...called and got "best rate" which has $125/night
Later checked their Marriott web site saw that rooms were going for $95
Asked the assistant manager for the $95 room rate was told "no way"

Rooms were clean but $125/night is out of line in Reno.

Horrible beds. They are 6" blocks of cheap foam. Not memory foam just cheap foam. Find a different hotel.  I think bed bugs would be afraid to stay in this hotel.

I stay in hotels about 35 nights a year.  This is a standard issue Courtyard.  However, it is an older property that needs updating.  (worn furniture, older TV, etc.)  I agree with previous reviewers - it would have been nice to have the breakfast included considering the location and quality of the hotel.

It is in a decent shopping center with a Starbucks and few restaurants.  It is pretty far from the downtown area, maybe a 10-15 minute drive.  It is pretty close to Atlantis and Peppermill.  Lots of other restaurants nearby.

Staff seemed very nice and friendly (although one appeared to be far from valedictorian).

SOooOOo last saturday while drinking with some friends, we decided that we were going to be what some called "spontaneous". While on this spontaneous hype we chose Reno as our destination of causing havoc. I luckily used to work for marriott so I knew the tricks as to trying to book a room at a cheaper rate. MUCH CHEAPER.. so I called up some friends and ended up booking a room that night for about $69. We got a 2 queen suite with a pull out sofa bed. This worked perfectly since we had 5 people. I really liked this hotel and granted it was off the strip it completely suited our needs. We had no high expectations however the expectations we did have were fulfilled. I would gladly stay at this location again THEY EVEN gave us a 2pm check out which was awesome for us because we didnt get to bed until 6 am. haha.. I really liked this place!

I stayed here for a night while in Reno for work.  I thought the hotel was good - the staff was very friendly, room was clean, and the hotel was quiet.  I liked that it wasn't downtown - it was actually in a shopping center which gives you options for food and shopping.  Best part of the place was the cookies that they had at the front desk!

Standard issue Courtyard, nothing fancy. Clean room, friendly staff. The hotel is adjacent to a strip mall. For espresso lovers, Starbucks is just a casual stroll across the parking lot.

Beyond Furious!! My son and I both have food allergies so when we travel, I need to  bring a small fridge and other small appliances so our healthy eating wont be interrupted. well, when staff at marriot saw this, they took ALL my appliances AWAY! I was so beyond p-ed off. Of course they gave it back, but not until AFTER a 5 min lecture on how I shouldn't have brought this things w/ me, they must remain in my car, etc etc. It gets worse. My husband requested a microwave, well they told him ok, we can deliver it to your room. It wasnt. So, he went down to ask about it, and they basically dumped the heavy thing in his hands for HIM to carry! Then, we accidently left our keys in the van and needed AAA to help us. We asked the lady to call them and it was too much to ask. She pointed saying "They are located right there, you can walk over and talk to them" she was being lazy and unwilling to help us. Nice. And if you think you'll get some peace and quiet in the pool, think again! Ppl let their loudmouthed screaming brats in there to play, and bc its enclosed, the screams echo, leaving you with a fat headache! Anyway, if you go, good luck! You'll need it!

This would have been a 4 star review if breakfast had been included in the rate.

Otherwise, I'm stoked there is a place to stay in Reno that's non-smoking, near the airport and close to the Sparks Marina. (That's the only reason we come here once a year.)

First, let me start off with my disclaimer: I am germphobic. As in, I am grossed out by everything in hotel rooms, from the bedding to the shower floors - even at 5-star hotels. Therefore I'm not one of those people who bothers to lift the mattresses and move the furniture to find dirt and debris to complain about.

Rooms are spacious and recently renovated. Indoor pool is a nice touch and the breakfast buffet is great: waffles, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, juice, coffee, etc.

Starbucks and Pita Pit are in the adjacent parking lot; super nice for morning coffee and late night snacking.

This place was tucked behind a strip mall, I passed it twice before finally spotting it. The hotel is actually very nice and clean, they have an adequate indoor swimming pool and small jacuzzi. Our room was just the right size, king bed and sofa couch w/ a balcony. The bathroom was average, my one BIG problem w/ the bathroom was NO CEILING FAN!!! So if you're planning on going #2 good luck to you! The bed wasn't as comfortable as the past Marriott beds I've stayed in but it did the job for the night we stayed. The hotel was a little bit farther than I anticipated from the main strip, we taxi cabbed down to the strip and it cost about $17 each way, I think next time I'll spend a little bit more money and stay on the strip, close to everything. All in all it's a good hotel, great staff, and they are close to lots of restaurants, starbucks etc. But if you're looking to be on the strip I'd stay at the peppermill or maybe silver legacy, closer to all the mayhem.

Steve the hotel Manager & I spoke,  he has reasonably compensated us for the inconvenience..It appears that since we made our reservations so far in advance that we slipped through the notification process for the renovations.

I am a frequent user of Hotels. I will not be returning to this one. It is older and feels like it. I was on the 3rd floor. 2 mornings in a row I had no hot water. There was some kind of loud noise that kept going on and off all night. I reported it to the front desk and no attempt was made to fix it. the room was not pristine. It looked like the spread had been on  the bed for quite a while without being changed. The towels are rough and well used.
This was NOT up to the usual Marriott standards.

This place is pretty old and extremely frustrating because nothing makes sense in the room. First off, the toilet and shower are separate from the sink which grosses me out a lot. Let's be real, that probably means that the door handles are germy because people haven't washed their hands.

Also, because of this weird arrangement there are about 4 places in which you can turn on/off the lights which isn't very intuitive. I ended up groping the walls to get some light in the room.

The bed is made out of jenky, cheapo foam.

And... the breakfast here sucks. I had the fruit and I almost threw up because it tasted rancid sour.

The only good thing about this place was that the woman at the front desk was very nice to me when I thought I had lost my wallet. Other than that, I would NOT recommend staying here.

Great, clean hotel located in an accessible part of Reno (the actual hotel itself is a bit hidden from the street, but not hard to miss).

The first thing I noticed about the hotel was how far it is from downtown.  It's actually in a suburbia - or well... a sea of chain restaurants and shops.  But I was pleasantly surprised by the place.  The people at the front desk were always friendly, the rooms weren't that bad, the indoor pool and hot tub looked nice and the breakfast included with the room was delicious.  The breakfast was definitely the highlight of the place.  The beds however were very firm.  I'm sure some people like that but it wasn't for me.  The Peppermill and Atlantis casinos are really just down the street and not very far at all.  Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.  A few negatives, though...

We reserved a handicapped room with a refrigerator. When we arrived, a room with a refrigerator was not available, but the hotel would move us to another after one night without a fridge. Not cool (no pun), but we could live for one night...

The next day we were moved to a non-handicapped room with a fridge. OK, my scooter can still fit through the doors, and while the bars in the bathroom are a convenience, I can use my cane for leverage to get up.  ...BUT, they should have remembered the "handicapped" part of the reservation.

Also, and one of the things we didn't know about, the hotel locks its doors sometime in the evening.  You can get in, but you have to use your room keys.  We discovered this on the second night.  When they had moved our stuff from the old room to the new room.  Did we tell you that they had disabled our old keys, because they needed to be rekeyed to the new room?  We had to bang on the (glass) doors to gain the night staff's attention. Once we did that, everything was hunky-dory, but still...

4.5 stars.  Now I'm not a regular who has encountered ups and downs of this property, but on a short stay this June '12, I really enjoyed this hotel and stay.  It was immaculate clean, friendly, accountable and polite staff, nice rooms, comfortable bed, well stocked coffee/tea area all day, clean room coffee maker with wolfgang punk coffee and a pleasant courtyard area.  Even the breakfast attendant and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful.  From my experience a very solid and well delivered 3 star hotel.  I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and three stars hotels of the same ranking often fall short something spotty.  I noticed across the board consistent here.  The front desk even checked in to make sure everything was okay with my stay and seemed genuinely concerned with delivering excellence when I took a business card at check out.  Don't set your expectations for fancy or resort style, but when you want consistency, I'd highly recommend.

I notice the reviewers who give this a 3 star, all say they would stay again.  So I'm surprised on the star level, but it sounds like the construction was upsetting when guests paid up for this consistency.  Seemed like only construction was in the courtyard, but I didn't experience an intrusion.  So I'd suggest in the short-term calling the hotel first, to check on the status, if you are here for a business stay.

Very much an average Courtyard. Not bad but not great either.  They were in the middle of a rather substantial remodel into the stupid "green Eco friendly" theme that Marriott Courtyard is now championing.  Ultimately the adornments in the lobby and restaurant are really not very comfortable or pleasing (even though they are not yet in place).  The unfortunate thing is that the food offerings are not really in line with what most people want (other than the Starbucks coffee) but then again, a 50 yard walk will take you to a full fledged Starbucks in the same center.

It would be nice if they had a second one downtown but this one obviously caters to business people as this is where much if the non casino employment is so it makes sense to gave a good hotel in this part if town.  I will probably stay here my next trip to see what the improvements look like but the one improvement that Courtyards could make would be softer beds.

Clean, safe, comfortable.  Close to food (about 1/2 block from Whole Foods Market, 50 yards from a Starbucks), easy to get to from the highway but far enough away that the noise is no issue.  Yes.

As far as hotel experiences go, this would rate about average so far as Courtyards go.  I have my preferences and Marriotts are generally not my first choice.  But I was attracted to the 99 dollar weekend rate and a chance to scope out the Reno area.  My opinion of Reno?  It's a disaster area but thats another story.

The hotel is located on the south end of town and is about four miles from the strip.  There are standard shopping malls all around you and little hint of the gambling and debauchery that characterizes the "strip".  Rooms are clean, the wifi works, they got a nice business center and there is a bistro that will serve up breakfast, dinner or a snack.

The thing that made me give them a five star is that I left a faucet on in the sink before leaving for dinner, when I got back, the floor was soaked and I could just see 500 bucks floating away.  But they were really nice about it, gave me a different room and didn't charge me a dime for the inconvenience.  They even moved my luggage for me.  They have a handy man, Bryon, who is a character but was really helpful.

I guess even in Reno, there are nice places with nice people.

When we visit Reno, we like to stay at this Courtyard.  It is a bit off the beaten path from the main drag, but we enjoy ourselves there.

Its quite, and easy to get around from.  We enjoy how clean it is, and their customer service has always been right on.  We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone

So far so good..... I travel to Reno a lot for work but normally stay in Carson. First time I have stayed at this hotel and so far have enjoyed it.

Lobby is very clean and well decorated, it has a modern appeal and good vibe. Roma are nice and the temperature is set comfortably.

The staff is very friendly and I have been greeting while entering and leaving the hotel.

This Marriott isn't as bad as others make it out to be.  It's in a decent location with lots of places to eat, and it's inside a strip mall.
It's also very conveniently located off a freeway exit and in a major street location.

They have a fitness center that's open 24/7 and have a mini-pool and jacuzzi to relax in after a good workout.  The beds here are comfy also.  The pillows aren't bad.  An added bonus is the presence of a mini fridge - I always love that.

It's not a Springhill so they don't have coffee downstairs but they have it in the room and a quaint little bistro in the lobby sells breakfast items, pastries, and beverages (Starbucks coffee).

What's good about this place though is that the staff are always greeting you and are nice.  Good enough for me.

Fortunately, they honored my request for a room on a high-floor, and at check in we were given a room on the 4th floor.

Unfortunately, they overlooked my request to be put in a room away from the freeway. The noise coming in from the exterior was noticeable. Even with the fan going all night.

Fortunately, the comfortable beds were typical Marriott memory-foam-esque. We had plenty of towels, and pillows. And the room was spotless.

Unfortunately, the bathroom setup was the pits. Dated. The bathroom didn't have a fan, so it was like a sauna in there after my shower. Also, there wasn't a mirror or trash receptacle in the bathroom. Minor inconveniences, that could be easily remedied. But the worst thing was that the sink wasn't in the bathroom! It was located in the hallway, right outside the bathroom itself. It made it impossible for me to be considerate of my traveling companion who wanted to continue sleeping after I got up early to work out. It would have been nice for me to be able to get ready in a space where I could close a door between me & my sleeping partner.

Fortunately, their work-out facility had a variety of machines: a cycle, elliptical, free weights, & two state-of-the-art treadmills.

Unfortunately, one of the treadmills was out of order. And there were no disposable cups to use to get water from the water cooler.

In short, if you are fortunate enough to get a good rate at this hotel, I'd recommend it.

It's upscale looking but as you walk in it smells like chlorine.

For a Marriott. I'm not that impressed.

The service is ok. They helped us get onto the Internet after we complained it wasn't working. We got breakfast but it was not that amazing either. The selection of food isn't that great for a breakfast that you would pay for or if it was free (Also felt bad for a family who had kids over 12 who had to buy breakfast for their kids when they thought their breakfast was included -  got to read the fine print)

Walls were thin, so not all that restful of an experience. But it looks like a nice place to go on the way to the snow. Could be better... Just saying

First off we got a jacuzzi suit (large jacuzzi seats 3) on a holiday weekend, with breakfast (not continental) the day before for 119, customer service was amazing. Right across the street from every shopping center you could want.  Rooms were clean and updated, they are very accommodating about late check out, very hospitable.  sure you can spend 250 to stay on the strip and have a smoke filled/Packed  hotel, but if you don't mind being a few miles out, this place is perfect,  cheap cab ride to the strip. Only take sparks cab, we took a few, not only are they 33% cheaper (on average) but they are far more personable and faster upon arrival.

This is a pretty nice hotel. Clean, new-ish looking, quiet, not crowded, comfy bed, decent bathroom, etc. There's no free breakfast. But there is a little counter where you can order some items for any meal. It's in a nice location where you have numerous restaurants, stores, etc. within walking distance or an easy drive. It's also easily drivable to all the various casinos and downtown. So if you're looking to stay somewhere that isn't a smokey casino, this is a nice option.

We have stayed in lots of Marriotts and I have never ever experienced the smell in the room like the one I experience at this particular hotel.

I do you have a very keen sense of smell and as soon as I walked in the door it smelled like straight up B.O.

So I called the front desk and ask for a different room because the smell was so bad and told them they needed to re-clean the room perhaps the pillows, something!! And the front desk told me that all of the rooms there have that smell it is the cleaning products that they use and he would gladly bring up some febreeze (hotel version) spray to me. Even though it was freezing outside we still open our window to let some air in.

Like I said, we have stayed at 50+ mariotts, ritz, residence inns, courtyards, and NEVER smelled a room like that. I actually contemplated leaving the second night and stating elsewhere because it was stinky. I filled out a comment card and never heard anything. I was hoping for some kind of discount of sorts since I had to go to the target across the steet and buy Lysol and Clorox wipes to try and re clean their room!

My wife and I loved our stay here. The staff was phenomenal, everyone was cheerful and welcoming. We slept wonderfully (soft bed and pillows). Room was spacious. Huge lounge next to the lobby. I've stayed at several different Marriott hotels and this by far was the best experience all around.

We also ate at the Bistro (located within the hotel) for breakfast and really enjoyed that too. It was included in the cost for one night stay, which ended up saving us like 10 bucks.

Note: The dining area had a couple booths with their own TV and channel changer... Game changer for me :)

If I ever come through Reno again I will most likely stay here.
