Well, it would have been 15 years ago this January 1st, when i was  married in this very Chapel. My first, and only marriage.  I remember that it was decently clean, and decently organized, hence the decent rating. I dont remember very much of that day, just nerves, Crown Royal stashed in a 16oz water bottle (brides cousin, thanks Jim!), and of course my best mans comforting words..."Dude, im driving you over to the chapel now. We can totally leave town, RIGHT NOW! Im serious. Im just offering."

I would not wish marriage on anyone, but if you are hellbent on doing it, might as well do it here. I recommend that you elope, get married by the city and save the $1200 price tag that getting married here cost me, and have a really cool honeymoon.

    But, what do i know.

I didn't have the wedding in the chapel, but had it in the Garden at Grand Sierra Resort. The ceremony planners Lynne & Debbie were very helpful and pleasant to work with. The garden looked beautiful although tiny and not the best location since it's in the pool area. The bar for the pool is right where the entry way is, so it's not great, but we had our special time w/ all the family and friends :) The reception was run by Monica and I have to say she was all talk and not taking notes. She was very delayed in replying on all her emails before, during and after the wedding day. She cancelled our appt to meet her brother two days before the wedding. When we saw her the day before the wedding, we wanted to change the amount of people from 80 to 73, but she said we didn't tell her 24 hours in advanced and it was too late, even though she cancelled with us the day before. We had a small wedding and she did not follow through with our insistence to change the floor layout. Specifically, where we wanted the DJ and projector table set up. She never updated the paperwork for the floor plan changes and didn't even show up to the reception until we asked for her. We complained about the DJs placement in the room and our centerpiece was barely filled with water with the fish. We asked to come in to fill them up full and she didn't even look them over before the party began. She literally was in the reception room for about 1 minute, didn't say a word to us, didn't apologize and then just disappeared, never back to see if we were okay or if anything else was needed. She was too busy with the other more expensive 2 weddings in the hotel to care at all about ours. It wasn't important enough to her, but it was for us. I have to admit the food - salad and chicken dish was very delicious. The cake was gorgeous. The cake was placed in front of a wall with the light switches, A/C switch, and the electrical box, so didn't like that at all during picture taking. So, it's hard to be completely happy with the hotel's performance, but in the end we're married and shared time with a great group of our family and friends as well as our great DJ Troy from "That's Entertainment"! Great price for a wedding, but know that there will be some details overlooked unless you have an advocate checking everything early on for you. You have to insist on checking the banquet room even if the planners for the hotel say it's handled...

We just had our 12/13/14 wedding at the GSR chapel followed by a lunch reception down the hall.  Everything was perfect and so stress free!  Lynne, Debbie and Megan were very helpful and very accessible during our 3 month window of planning.  The remodeled chapel is gorgeous, and didn't need any extra decoration (the 2 lit Christmas trees they added were a great touch though!).  The food was delicious and our cake was amazing!  The pastry chef created the exact design we had envisioned  by combining ideas from a couple Pinterest cakes I had found.  I would highly recommend the GSR Wedding Chapel, as well as their banquet services...it was a great value, and we are extremely happy with our choice!
