We had a 5star overall experience - from the time we made our reservations to when we departed.  A definitely home away from home appeal & of course the breakfast in the mornings and dinner (offered Sunday-Thurs) is a huge plus when traveling with the family.  The room was perfect with a little kitchen, dining room table, a pull out sofa for the kids and the bed was comfy - we loved the excessive amount of pillows which was a plus & the kids did too (pillow fight!)  We will definitely be back :)

I wish I could give four and a half stars. This place was wonderful for my family. My autistic son adored the room, the comfy beds, everything. Clean and very well managed, with great service. Breakfast was nice with lots of variety. The pool was a wonderful thing, small and not crowded, and we spent hours there with my son who loves to swim. The only problem was that the steps on the pool are slippery, and both my husband and my son slipped while getting in. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience and I would love to stay there again and recommend it to others wholeheartedly!

We stayed here at the front and tail end of our ski trip.  Even though we had a minor problem when we got here (key machine doesn't work, and the hotel staff have to let you into your room!), we really liked this place.  The meals they provide at Homewood are usually very good value, incl. the evening reception with complimentary beer and wine.  Staff is super friendly and helpful.  If you want to ski north Tahoe, and don't want to pay the resort price, using Reno as a base is not a bad plan, especially for Mt. Rose (less than 30 min.), or even Northstar and others.

My family of five stayed here for one night last week.  We chose this place for its proximity to the Reno airport.  It was about a 5-10 minute easy drive from the airport, and there are numerous retail stores and restaurants in the proximity, which was very convenient.  The room we had was very clean and comfortable, and honestly more than we even needed.  The free breakfast was more than sufficient: cold cereals, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, milks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate.  And plenty of comfortable seating.  Parking was also free and plentiful.  We would return if we're ever back in Reno.

Nice suite and full kitchen. Comp
breakfast gets marks for real hard boiled eggs but rest of breakfast bland and fatty. Decent exercise room but pool area not vented quite enough.

I've spent about 10 weeks here over the last couple years. I like it. Some of the meals are pretty good, but not all of them.

Bad customer service. The girls at this hotel are so sweet. I fractured my ankle and had to rearrange a few stays as I was unable to travel and Jim the manager wanted to cancel my coorperate rate because of this without any warning.  when I told him there was a medical reason he did not care. He was very rude on the phone. I made all my hotel stays for the month anyway. I would never stay there again.

Hot, Hot rooms.   The lowest you can crank the AC is 70 degrees.  70 degrees!?  What the hell, Homewood?  I grew up in the Sunset and Daly City!  I was up all night and ill prepared for my business meeting.  Not cool... not cool at all.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Dominique. She is so friendly and helpful, very pleasant person. Got to our room and WOW! What a nice room, very spacious and clean. We had the 1 bedroom with a king bed. Every item looked brand new. Breakfast the next morning was awesome! A lot of items to choose from. And there was Dominique again, she remembered our name. Really made us feel welcome. Love this hotel and the staff, definitely be back. Thank you!

This was my first stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton, and I gotta say that it won't be my last.  I spent the night here during a short business trip to Reno.  I spent 2 days in Reno which, with all due respect to Reno residents, was 1 day too many.  I picked Homewood Suites wanting to stay away from the spectacle (i.e. those wicked neon lights and noise) of the Reno casinos.  Plus, this hotel is conveniently located a few miles away from the airport.

There was plenty of free self-parking (no ridiculously priced valet parking), and the parking lot was well lit.  Check-in was a breeze, and they even serve a quasi-dinner buffet that consists of a few entree items (it was chicken cutlet that night), assorted snacks and drinks that were complimentary to all hotel guests.

I love the lay out of the rooms.  You walk in and there is a mini-kitchen, complete with full size fridge, sink, coffee maker w/assorted coffees/teas, microwave, stove, dishwasher (?) and everything you need if you wanted to cook up a meal; there is also a small table with chairs; a separate living room area with a couch and flat panel tv; and a separate bedroom with another flat panel tv; toiletries were from Neutragena; and thankfully the shower had great water pressure.  I hate those typical hotel low-flow, water saving shower heads....not a problem here though.

There's a complimentary breakfast buffet that had a decent selection of hot and cold breakfast items.  Nothing fancy, but a great value for the business traveler.

They also provide free internet access via a card they give you upon check-in.  I never understand why business hotels like this give you free internet access, but I always have to pay for internet access when I stay at higher-end hotels like the Four Seasons or the Fairmont while on vacation.

The only minor flaws I could find were that the sheets were not the highest quality...i.e. they were scratchy as all get out, and the pillows, although plenty, were not that comfortable.

Overall though, great hotel experience and I'd definitely stay there again.   Check out my pics and see for yourself.

This is not a review of the hotel rooms, but rather the conference rooms.  I came here several times as part of my bar review course.  The staff all seemed very friendly and they kept the room stocked with fresh coffee, hot water for tea, and ice water.

The room itself was pretty garish though.  The carpeting reminded me of something you might see in a casino or a roller skating arena.  The walls were mostly bright yellow, but with some sort of faux wood effect on it that resulted in some strange darker yellow/goldish stripes.

The room was pretty loud too.  Granted, on the days that we were taking tests, it would be way too much to expect perfect silence, but the fact that the room was located right next to the main lobby/dining area and the walls were paper thin meant that we could hear most of the conversations going on outside as well as the TV blaring through the wall.  On the few days that I went when we were watching a video, this wasn't an issue since we had our own sound going on in the room.

Can't say it was a bad stay, but it wasn't a stand out.

This was my first visit to a Homewood Suites (though I've stayed at my fair share of Hilton properties) so I anticipated a more luxurious experience.  In my opinion, Homewood is much like a Hampton Inn, but with a mini kitchen and a living room area.  I was super disappointed in the bed linens though... scratchy sheets bug me.

Also, they have free dinner and drinks for guests Mon - Thurs as well as comp breakfast.  I'm a vegan so of course there was nothing for me to eat other than the spare banana or two.  Also, I saw that they served hot dogs for dinner one night... classy.  Or maybe I'm too bourgeois...

I will say that my shower head was AWFUL and when I mentioned it to the staff they had it fixed before I could even get back to my room.  Also, the front desk people were super nice and accommodating.

I probably won't be staying here again.  I'll opt for the Hilton Garden Inn or the Hampton down the road.

But for the price, you do get alot at this Homewood, I think my expectations were just a little higher.

We had a two-bedroom suite and loved it! The beds are so comfortable! Each bedroom had their own bathroom and the room overall was very spacious! I've stayed at other Homewood suites and this location is very clean! The complimentary meals are delightful. They have an outdoor area that offers basketball or volleyball as well as an indoor pool and hot tub. Easy access and convenient. We enjoyed our stay and will return in the future.

We decided fairly late that we wanted to go to the Rib Cook-Off during Labor Day weekend. Of course EVERYTHING was super booked and my friend found this place. It was around 180$ for one night, but its a suite so that was nice.

We arrived earlier than planned and they said our room wasn't ready, so we just kind of sat there. The thing that irked me a bit was when another guest came in and wanted his room, he complained a tad bit, and he got one of his rooms right away. Yes I could have whined and complained also...but that's not how I am. (I was just hoping it wasn't cuz I was asian and that guy was white! Racism!) But my friend later asked again and we got a room.

The suite was niceeee, a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. nice bathroom and small kitchen.

NOW I remember why I am only giving 3 instead of 4. This is definitely for families and kids.....because when you are trying to sleep, you can hear everything! the air condition was super loud. You hear lil kids running around, doors opening and closing, and in the morning housekeeping vaccumming!!! the walls are SUPER THIN!

besides that, it was okay, they had free breakfast, but hotel breakfast is never that great but decent.

wouldn't mind staying again but having seen the grand sierra hotel! (i'm going there) sorry!

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in for the price. The room was large, very clean and set up nicely. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The free, hot breakfast was good with a decent selection. This will definitely be my go to hotel when I need to stay in Reno, especially if it will be for more than one night. The only somewhat negative thing I can come up with is that the Wi-Fi is slow but that wasn't really a big deal to me.

Stayed in a Suite with a Kitchenette for a few days.  The room was clean and comfortable, and we liked the complimentary breakfast and internet.

Even though we could see the freeway, thanks to the double pane windows, we couldn't hear it.

It's a nice alternative to staying in a smoke filled casino hotel.

We had a wonderful experience at the Homewood Suite in Reno. We were a little hesitant not knowing the area and some of the previous reviews were bad, we booked it because it was close to where my husband was attending a seminar and because of the kitchen.
We have stayed at Homewood Suites in Rancho Mirage, CA and we loved it.
They allowed us to check in 3 hours before since our flight got in early we tried and they went above and beyond to make our room ready for us to rest.
The room was very clean and everything we expect we had in the room a fully equipped kitchen, big refrigerator. We loved that between Monday and Thursday they had free dinner, wine and beer were complimentary also. Full on breakfast every morning (eggs, cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, breads, fruits, juices) free also. Coffee available 24 hours. Complimentary newspaper. Free internet.
Indoor pool. 24 hour fitness room. Washer and dryer room.  The location was next to the freeway but it was very quiet, we could not hear anything. Free parking and plenty of it. Walking distance to a Whole Foods, taco bell, subway and many other places to eat. Everything was Excellent.

    Not for Hilton Honors Customers.
Now that embassy suites south lake tahoe, is no longer Hilton we were searching for another Hilton property to frequent for ski season with good rates.
    This is a noisy hotel.
Stayed here for 3 nights. As a diamond Hilton member we were surprised that we were put on a lower floor as we had requested a high floor and we prefer not to chear what sounded like gymnasts warming up for the circus above us. The ceilings are paper thin.
Also surprising was that we were put on the noisy side of the hotel where we were able to hear the many diesel trucks that live in Reno accelerate up the on ramp to the highway and buzz along on the highway.
The other surprise was that with elite status we were put on the non view side of the hotel, not that highways aren't interesting but we like to see the mountains here as they are so beautiful.
The last surprise was that our room placement was right by the dumpsters that get serviced very early in the morning. Yes we should have moved rooms but it was a huge undertaking to move food, family etc.. once we belatedly figured it all out.
The rooms are showing some wear, carpet stains, marks on the wall, chipped toilet seats. The heater is, wake you up from a deep sleep, loud.
The kitchen is well stocked, full fridge, cooktop, utensils, dish soap, and has a dishwasher that the cleaning staff emptied during their daily cleaning. (thank you). A colander would be nice., but that's not a big deal.
Beds are comfy. The staff we came in contact with were always nice. The cleaning staff did a great job. Good Neutrogena bath products. The towels are fluffy.
They serve dinner during the week which is a bonus for many and the breakfast is fine. The dining room is clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed.
It's a fine hotel for the price, except that its noisy and if you are a loyal hilton customer you won't be recognized or rewarded for keeping the Hilton Brand in business.
If you are searching for a good Hilton property in Tahoe,  the Hampton Inn Truckee is solid.

I arrived here yesterday. Check in isn't until 4 pm, but they let me check in early around 1 pm. I originally was set up for a room with two beds, and I asked to switch to a room with one bed. They gladly did so.

I've stayed at the Homewood Suites in Roseville before. This hotel has the same look and feel. It's a very nice and clean hotel. I have a huge room all to myself. I have a kitchenette, a living room, everything!

They serve complimentary breakfast and on certain nights of the week they serve complimentary dinner and drinks. Awesome!

    Definitely spoiled here.

Agree w/ J.H.'s review. We are Hilton Honors and we we're put in the 2nd portion of what is possibly the 2 room suite since there's a connecting door. The room next door seemed like it had a ton of kids. Constant running, banging of doors. But it was on the living room side so if you're in the bedroom, you can't hear it. The microwave didn't work. There was a horrible huge ink mark on the pleather coffee table. We called about both and I don't think they did anything during the stay.

Otherwise it was a nice clean room, comfy bed, soft pillows, nice breakfast and complementary dinner during the week. Out of the beaten path of downtown but close enough to go there. There's a laundry room, open 24 hours, 1.25 a load for wash and dry. Supplies can be bought at the mini store in front. There's also a gym. Overall, nice place to stay.

We stayed here for three nights and were very pleased with the employees and the facilities.

    Positives:
    Very clean room
Good breakfast--each morning there were different hot offerings.
Reception and light dinner in the evening was a nice bonus.
Employees were very friendly, especially housekeeping and front desk.
Room size (we had a studio king) was fine for our family of four.
Apartment-sized kitchen allowed us to prepare meals.

    Areas needing improvement:
Room maintenance--room was clean but the carpet had a tear, the bathroom door didn't latch and there were two microwaves in the kitchen.
HVAC--A/C unit was loud and didn't get the room quite cool enough.

This home wood needs a Little fixing up unfortunately the living room TV did not work nor did the blow dryer and I couldn't get the shower handle to work correctly I would set it for cold water and super hot water would come out. The room was nice and clean  but I have had better breakfast at other home woods.

I stayed here on two different occasions in the last month and we were thrilled with each of our visits.

The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is located in a nice part of town. They have a wonderful complimentary breakfast available in the morning. If we ever find ourselves staying in Reno again this will be our first choice of places to stay.

I make no apologies for being a Hilton Chain fan. I am in Reno several times a year for business and try to stay at this facility when ever possible. The hotel is always clean, the staff friendly and you can not beat the free wine and beer from 5-7 pm Monday thru Thursdays. The hotel is quieter than most  and close to decent restaurants and convenience stores and the airport. The Homewood is a way better place to stay at while in Reno than the skanky Nugget (even though I am a fan of John's Oyster Bar)

This is a very nice hotel in a quiet part of Reno. They have beautiful rooms. And big too.

There were two water bottles an a 4 cookie pack for free in the room. I know Hilton and there aren't much that do that for free. At breakfast I picked up a carton of milk and it was expired. In there defense, I should have looked but they shouldn't put expired milk out.

Embassy Suites and DoubleTree are much nicer. But, still. It's a very nice hotel. You'll like it.
