We stayed here during Valentines/President's Day weekend. It was pretty nice and not too crowded. We arrived pretty late and there were 3-4 people at the front desk to greet us and check us in. They were all pretty friendly.

I really liked the rooms. The room price was basically similar to Silver Legacy prices, but the room is sooo much nicer than the rooms at Silver Legacy. There was a  living room like area where there was a pretty long couch you can relax in, and a little divider between the "living room" and the king sized bed. Everything is pretty new in the room, and there was a pretty big flat screen tv that you can turn so that is facing the couch or the bed. We really enjoyed relaxing in our room. The only bad thing about the room is that the closet is pretty small, but the room is big, so if you don't have a lot of stuff to hang up, it isn't bad at all. We kept our bags and snowboards and stuff in a corner and we never felt like the room was crowded or anything. For the bathroom, there was a pretty large shower, which was pretty nice. Overall, I thought the room was really nice. I felt relaxed and comfortable in it. (it felt like I was staying in a studio or something). I will definitely come back to stay next time I come to Reno.

The complimentary breakfast was alright. There are mixed fruits, cereal, Dannon yogurt (strawberry or peach; Light & Fit or Activia) , mini donuts, mini bagels, mini muffins, toast, english muffins and a variety of juices, Seatle's best coffee and Tazo teas. There is also an area you can order stuff as well. We ordered the omelette on our last day there, and it was alright. Nothing special. I don't like cheese, so we asked for no cheese on our omelette, but I think they misunderstood it and thought we said extra cheese. =( Miscommunication I suppose.

The staff there are all pretty nice as well. My bf forgot his wallet downstairs during breakfast time. Once we got into our room, we got a call from one of the guys at the front desk letting us know about our wallet. We didn't even know we lost it. It was pretty nice of them to act so quickly to notify us. I really appreciated it.

Overall, the stay was very cozy and nice. It doesn't get too loud, and it's kind of nice being away from the noises from the casinos. It is pretty close to all the other casinos, so if you'd like to go gambling, just hop on the freeway and you're there. It is located right next to the airport, which is nice for people who fly into Reno, and it is located right off of 395.

The room was spacious and comfortable.  The premises were clean and aesthetically pleasing.  The continental breakfast compared favorably to others I've had.  We liked that the entire hotel was non-smoking.  Staff seemed attentive.  Looking forward to going back.

Stayed here for a overnight business trip. Great comfortable modern looking rooms. The basic gym has updated equipment. The indoor pool is heated. The only downside about this place is the Heater/AC unit. It was very confusing to use the thermostat to get the right temperature and when it was on it was very loud. If it wasn't for the Heater/AC unit I would give this place 5 stars, but no half stars allowed so 4.5 stars would be my true rating. I would stay here for business and personal.

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to the Reno Rib Cook Off this year and the Hyatt Place had availablity. This hotel was one of the best hotel's we've stayed at. We got the King Suite and it was perfect for us and our 2 kids. They sleep in their own play pen and the room was divided perfectly. We got there and the front desk guy was so nice. We went to the room and it was spotless. Everything worked and the bathroom was so clean. There was an incident where my kids spilled all kinds of goldfish crackers everywhere on the carpet. We called the front desk to have it cleaned up, and they came up right away to vacuum it. They were so nice. The complimentary breakfast was the BEST!!! They had waffles, steel cut oatmeal with a bar full of add ons, fruits, and breakfast sandwiches. This was real food, not that stuff that's made out of powdered eggs. I will definitely be staying here again.

One of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Clean, close to the airport, tasty continental breakfast, in-room fridge, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and the friendliest staff ever. Matthew and Ricky were awesome! I definitely know where I'll be staying if I ever return to Reno.

I stayed here for the weekend and their amenities are nice. Buuuuut customer service was horrible. Who spends 45 mins checking out?  There was also miscommunication about our drinking credit and they overcharged us.  This didn't get settled until three weeks after calling them every week.  Steer away if you can...its no where near the casinos anyway.

The Hyatt Place Reno is located between the airport and a highway, so I was skeptical about all these reports claiming it was quiet. I was wrong: those reports are 100% accurate. In the four days we were here, we never once heard an airplane or traffic noise. It was like staying in an undiscovered tomb.

I was also skeptical about claims that the hotel was smoke-free. Last time I was in Reno, at the Silver Legacy, we were told our room was smoke-free: it was not. It reeked. The Hyatt Place Reno is an entirely smoke-free building, and it was a refreshing change after the elevators, casinos and public areas of the rest of Reno. After a long day at a convention, it was wonderful to come "home" to a clean, quiet, comfortable room, well designed and tastefully appointed, with no tobacco reek.

The amenities are first rate: a pool, spa, gym and laundry facilities. Internet access was a breeze: we used both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, with complimentary access. The continental breakfast was more than the standard coffee-and-pastry; the choices were healthy and tasty.

If there is any drawback to staying here, it's the fact that there is no restaurant. However, you can order short-order items on a kiosk downstairs, so it's not like you'll starve. This hotel caters to business travelers, so there is no casino or club or other entertainment, which suited us just fine. There's the rest of Reno for that. The staff were courteous, friendly, and unobtrusive.

From now on, this is the ONLY hotel I will stay at in Reno.

A great place to stay when needing to close to the Reno airport.

Got to wonder if the prices are not a bit low right now as an introductory rate to compete with the older places on the north side of Plumb.

Very nice room - the AV equipment was top notch, but that is compared to 2 nights in a Super 8 in Winnemucca on the days before arrival.

Get a room on the east side, think you would notice the 395 traffic noise if you are on the west.

Low rates. Good location for travelers and business guests.  Clean. Staff are nice. Kitchen open 24 hours for burgers and fries.  I've stayed at several Hyatt place locations across the country.  In my opinion they need to be upgraded to compete with newer courtyards.

It's been years since I've been to Reno. I stayed at what some others would consider great places. Not so in my book. Thought I was coming to stay at yet another old smoke smelling place.

This place is nothing like what I had expected. It's clean fresh smelling (non-smoking establishment) comfy beds friendly staff and a continental breakfast that is more like a buffet.

Worth staying in. I would compare this place to some on the finer hotels around the country.

A clean, new, non-casino hotel in Reno with great rates and terrific proximity to the airport.  For an extra $10 you can leave your car here instead of parking it at the airport - a great deal if you're traveling for more than a few days.  Shuttle service to the airport starts at 4.30 am, and it's a quick 2 minute drive.

We stayed here before a dark o'thirty departure, and I was surprised at the size and quality of the rooms for the rate.   It feels like it caters to the business traveler in that there's no bathtub and a small-ish closet, but the sofa and suite-like feel is not a bad thing.

We saw nothing of the hotel amenities (pool, bar, etc.) as we were there for less than 12 hours.  The location, while ideal for travelers, may not be so ideal for a visitor to Reno.  That said, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a non-casino hotel experience in the Reno area.

When I'm up in Reno every month, most of the time, the "company" puts us up at this hotel. I guess some people really like it, probably because of the brand name I'm guessing. It looks rather new & modern, but to me it just feels cold & impersonal.
Anyway, the heaters are extremely loud, so sleep is broken & I do NOT feel rested in the morning. It's nice that there is a complementary breakfast, but unfortunately the breakfast sandwiches and french toast are cold and not very good at all. I usually just stick with a bagel.
The room layout is terrible if you have a roommate. The bright lights & sink are directly in front of the beds. They have very few rooms compared to a near by hotel, so sometimes you will get a room with only one bed. So, one person has to sleep on the hide-a-bed sofa. There is also not enough blankets in the room if you have to do this (learned the hard way).
If your roommate checks in, their key card will get them into the room. However, after the 2nd person checks in, it somehow gets recoded. So, if the first person leaves the room & tries to get back in, the key card no longer works. Then, you have to wait forever for the extremely slow elevator & go all the way back down to the check-in desk, explain it to the staff & get another key. THEN you can get into your room again. This happens to me EVERY SINGLE TIME I stay there.
The "bar" is just a raised counter w/ bar stools just off the check-in desk. They have about 2 or 3 kinds of liquor. I'm not a wine-drinker, but I think I saw a few bottles behind the counter. I ordered about the only fruity drink I could think of, a cosmopolitan, and it was horribly strong, so I couldn't even drink it. The food is good, but there is an extremely limited selection & it's overpriced. Oh, the bartender is also the front desk person.
I only stay there because sometimes I have to.
At least it's within walking distance to its competitor who has a good bar, good food selection, fair prices & really friendly staff.

I am so impressed with this hotel. The service is friendly, the room is modern and spacious and the food is good. Let me get more descriptive: it's conveniently located. While it's airport adjacent, it's also close to a certain casino hotel which I usually choose. This place is a better choice if you don't need or want casino amenities. I behaved like goldilocks when I checked in. No problem. My room? Fantastic! The bed is separated by a screen from the living room and office desk. The couch includes a chaise and even though someone would get a good nights' sleep stretched out on it, there's even a roll out bed if that's your choice. They serve good food 24/7, which you can enjoy downstairs or in your sharp looking but comfortable room. The bed is comfy and the shower great. Everything is very clean. I'm so glad I discovered this hotel. This is definitely my new go-to hotel in Reno.

Clean, functional and comfortable!  My in-laws stayed here for one night while my family and I stayed at The Grand Sierra Resort.  Truth be told, I would have preferred to stay at the Hyatt.  It was quiet and not as crowded as the GSR.

You get a nice quiet atmosphere to rest and recharge with the option to go a casino or see a show if that is your thing.

This would be my first choice for lodging the next time we return to Reno.

Always a fan of  the Hyatt Pace.  I travel extensively and when there is one around I would stay at the Hyatt  Place.  Spacious room, good breakfast , and good  staff.  This one in Reno does not have any good  restaurants around but still like that its away from the casino.  Would recommend if you want a quiet place to retire at the end of the day.

Everything I said in my previous review holds true, just wanted to add and update a couple of things. First, they improved their complimentary breakfast! I remember there being the minimum toast and sides before, but now they have warm breakfast sandwiches and waffles one morning and french toast another. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

One drawback was that the heater was a bit loud. It didn't bother me much because I'm a heavy sleeper, but my mom is a light sleeper and woke up a couple times during the night.

Still loving the cleanliness, smoke-free, comfortable atmosphere at this place! Bumping my rating up to a 5 for the updated food and friendly staff.

This hotel totally blew away my low expectations.

I got two free nights here and a day at Mt Rose as a gift and I figured it would be cheap and simple and step up from a Motel 6 or Super 8.

The Hyatt Place was clean, tasteful, convenient, and well-appointed. The rooms are all suites with a separate lounge room, desk area, empty mini-fridge, separate vanity sink, and A/V setup.

Smart little touches go a long way. The hairdryer wasn't attached to the wall. The alarm clock doubled as speakers for any standard jack device (not just compatible with Apple products, which is a peeve of mine).

The staff was friendly and treated us very well. There was a slight problem with billing (my nights were complimentary but I was billed anyway) and they took care of it right away with apologies. They also had great advice on where to shop for some staple foods (and those places were 5 minutes away on Plumb Lane) once we realized that we had a fridge and didn't have to eat out for every meal.

The continental breakfast was about what you'd expect and I ordered up something more substantial, which turned out just fine. I'd like to grumble about the very weak coffee, but that's not enough to kill a whole star.

The outdoor sunken hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing and we partook of the the indoor pool and the gym as well.

Overall I was pleased and will definitely stay here again for my next ski trip on the Reno side of Tahoe.

Oh, and there wasn't a neon sign or ringing bell anywhere.

This is my first choice when I'm staying in the Reno area.  The property is very new and clean.  Suites are large, around 250-300 square feet with a large sofa to lounge on and flat screen TV on a swivel mount.  Beds have clean linens and decent pillows.

Complimentary breakfast, internet access, newspaper, and gym.  Easy parking all around the hotel.  Didn't hear any airplane noise so there's either not that many flights or the windows do a good job of keeping noise out.  Or it was because of the heater/AC unit, which was fairly noisy and would cycle on and off throughout the night.

If it was quieter this would be an easy five stars.  Regardless, if you're looking for a convenient hotel for business or vacation that's not a smoke-filled casino, this should satisfy your needs.

This was my second stay at a Hyatt Place (Ontario, CA).  I really like the layout of the room and all the included features.

We also had a room at the Sands, which I walked into, pulled back the covers on the bed, and then walked out.  50 prepaid bucks down the drain.

I will gladly pay 99 to stay here again.

This is my first review, but this hotel was more than enough reason for me to write and tell others!

My job requires me to travel quite a bit and over the last few years, I've stayed in a lot of hotels.  This one, by far, is among the best!

First of all, I did not have a reservation.  Even with a conference going on, Mr. Dillard was able to get me a spacious room with a view (top floor) that exceeded all of my expectations.  The staff was very friendly and ensured that I would be impressed with the free breakfast the next morning.  They really made me feel welcome and yes, I know that most hotels try to do this (obviously, you're spending your money there) but this was different.  Suffice it to say that I had a few requests outside the norm and each was met without hesitation and with a smile.

Compared to other hotels in the area (and even in other cities) the price is affordable and well below what you'd expect to pay for a room of this caliber.  Check-in was quick and easy, check-out time is at noon.  Breakfast was VERY IMPRESSIVE!  I went downstairs to expect the normal free continental breakfast.  To my surprise, they had bagel breakfast sandwiches (TRY THE SANTA FE... it's to die for!!) and a variety of fresh fruit.  They even have a great donut selection (big plus for those with kiddos) and more juices than I knew what to do with.

I could go on and on but overall, every aspect of my stay was great!  The rooms were very clean, the cardio room is great and the pool indoors.  I believe this is a must for Reno hotels due to the heat in the summertime.  Either way, no sunblock required!  Did I mention that the rooms were VERY CLEAN?  Yep, they are!

I would reccomend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Reno area.  Although it is off the strip and close to the airport, it's right off the freeway (just a short drive to the strip) and I never heard the taxiing aircraft and noise of Reno's airport (which most would expect).

I am returning to Reno in a few weeks with a few of my office partners and have already booked our rooms.  After speaking to Mr. Johnson (who was QUITE helpful) and Ms. Bachman (who took time out of her schedule to sit with me one and one and establish some amazing rapport), I feel that the Hyatt Place deserves 5 STARS INDEED!

This place is great for business travel.  The rooms are new, there is no casino.  In fact, you could get away with not interacting with any Hyatt staff as they have do it yourself check in and check out kiosks.

Even though they are across the street from the airport, the soundproofing is pretty good as I rarely heard airplane noise.

Thank you Yelp! I needed an airport hotel in Reno, and Yelp reviews really helped here.

Hyatt Place was surprisingly good. It's a sizable room, with a big lounge section and a desk, mini fridge, and a king bed in the other section of the room. It's clean, comfortable and has free wifi. It does all the things that an airport hotel should do -- but with none of the shabby grossness that I expected.

The staff were very friendly and picked me up from the airport when I called (though it's very close - I could probably have walked). The only staff I've seen appear to be very young, chipper, moderately good looking men.*

The lobby is unassuming and rather ugly - but they seem to have combined a check-in desk with a snack shop and a bar -- seems like a sensible arrangement, really. Oh, and they have a decent continental breakfast too - comes free with the room. It was all pretty affordable.

*EDIT - that was at night time. The morning staff have a few more decades on the night staff.

Very new, clean comfortable,  excellent location.  My room is quiet with amenities. It's not cheesy 80's decor but beautifully modern. Breakfast is top notch. Service is responsive. Small negative is the ac has one fan setting and its sounds like its always on high located next to the bed.  My room had no tub

In darkness there is death. It was one of the first things I learned as a child.

I never forgot it.

The BAD people come out at night. They wait for you and then they get you and then no one ever sees you again. Someone might find your skull or your femur twenty years later but it doesn't really count as being seen again, does it?

This is what occupied my mind as the sun began to set, and as I pulled into the lot of the Hyatt Place in Reno, I wondered how many of THEM were out tonight, waiting for that ideal time and person. Waiting to trick someone with kindness before revealing their warped and skewered intent.

Hurrying from my car, I made it to the hotel entrance before the sun disappeared. But despite the fact I was now indoors, that didn't mean THEY couldn't be hiding somewhere inside these walls. I'd still have to be careful. I was safer now but not out of the woods. Not by a longshot.

I glanced furtively around the pristine lobby. Everything was spotless, new and modern. A nice sitting area lay straight ahead, sweeping to the right; a small circular check-in desk on my immediate left, a friendly-looking bar and eatery beckoning from further back. Battered suitcase in hand, I walked to the desk as the associate smiled a greeting. He was tall, young, lean, dark-haired. Looked like a high school basketball player. Yet that did not preclude him from being one of THEM. Welcoming faces frequently mask hidden dangers. Warily, I handed him the necessary cards and the transaction went smoothly. Grabbing my plastic entrance key, I nodded to his smiling head and went off towards the elevators.

It was somewhat darker by the lifts, and I made note of the gymnasium sign as I pressed the upward arrow button. After the slowest ride in Otis history I exited into a poorly lit corridor. I followed the directions on a brown placard and found my room. I knocked before trying the key. Not surprisingly no one answered. Why would they? If one of THEM was in there they wouldn't want me to know now, would they? Gently, I slipped the card into the slot. Turning the knob, I pushed the door inward until it would go no further. Satisfied no one lurked behind it, I let the door swing shut. I switched on the lights and looked around.

Orderly, neat, clean and fresh. I quickly searched the closet and bathroom. I even looked beneath the bed. Nothing. None of THEM were here. Nor were there any traces of previous guests. I flicked on the flat screen and unpacked my gear. Laying out toothpaste and toothbrush I was impressed with the tidiness of everything. Complimentary soaps and haircare products all were artfully placed.

Leaving the lights on, I left the room to hit the restaurant. A few men were at the bar. I overheard their conversation and learned they were pilots, here in town for an airshow of some kind. I ordered a Heineken from the barman and quickly perused the sparse but reasonably priced menu. Settling on plain salad, I set the menu down and watched without attention as men on the telly chased an oddly shaped ball across white-lined greenery. When my salad arrived I ate with relative slowness and covertly surveyed my neighbors. Any one of those airmen could be one of THEM. The last thing I needed was to be taken captive aboard a plane and dropped in pieces over the Sierra Nevadas, although if the hungry spirits of the Donner party were still there THEY might be more than happy about the free flesh feast.

I finished my beer and greens, paid for my meal and remarked to myself that I'd be back for breakfast. IF I was able to survive the night.

Once back in my room I again pushed the door to its limit before locking down for the night. I propped a chair beneath the knob and repeated another search of the room. Again I found nothing. I checked the window latch and found it secure. There was no balcony for which I was thankful. I showered and brushed my teeth and watched a movie about a baby who came back from the dead. Said baby wasn't too happy about being alive again. Apparently he thought killing people with a scalpel would solve this.

When I could no longer stay awake I turned off the talking pictures and fell asleep in the comfortable bed. Amazingly, I slept soundly, something I rarely do, especially when not on my own mattress. I awoke around seven and hit the free breakfast bar. Sipping coffee with oatmeal and banana, I flipped through the Wall Street Journal, feeling refreshed.

After my meal I went for a walk on the treadmill in the gym. It was a good little gym sporting a bike and dumbells as well. I showered again in my room and packed up my things. As I was about to leave I looked out the window, wondering if anyone in Reno had met one of THEM last night. Perhaps, but at least it hadn't been me.

And as I drove from the lot in my car I nodded to myself that I would definitely return, but only during the daylight. Because things are much safer then.

I'm giving this 2 stars for a few reasons. The price you pay for the rooms, there isn't a lot going on. The decor is out dated, the rooms are very bland, the bed was very uncomfortable but what really pissed me off was the WiFi issues. I was in Reno on business and really needed the internet connection. Front desk had no clue why I was having issues. I had to drive over to Barnes and Noble to do my work, VERY inconvenient. I appreciate the space and flat screen TV but I want the hotel accommodations to meet the price they charge for all guests, business or pleasure. Staff was very friendly and food wasn't too bad. Close to the airport and central location to Reno/Sparks.I won't be staying here again. I feel that I can pay a lesser price at another hotel where I can expect better accommodations to meet the price.

Ohhh, I liked it a lot.  I didn't think I can like anything more than Holiday Inn Express for quick / comfortable / business type hotels, but this place is the next step.

Excellent front desk that was very sharp.  free internet, good tv, comfortable bed.  The room just felt modern.

If I had to nitpick, I'd say I wish they had blackout curtains so sunlight doesn't come in at all.

Nearly 5.  I love  Hyatt Place.  Checked in about 4 pm.  That crew was awesome.  They were having internet issues so manager told front desk crew to bring our boarding passes from their computer.  So wonderfully accommodating. But our flight was very early before breakfast. In Denver they packed some bagels and yogurt as we were leaving before breakfast.  In Reno we were told we could only have coffee or tea even though they were setting up breakfast. Otherwise short stay in a clean and comfortable room.

Had spent 2013 New Year there for 3 days. General speaking, the facility is OK but the management and service is not professional. When I talk to staff, I feel like they are more like staff who operates a family Inn or a lodge...

Good things:
1. complementary breakfast, good quality and variety
2. facility is good, lobby is comfortable, in-door pool is kids friendly, a good out-door jacuzzy
3. location is convenient for car and air transportation

Bad things:
1. very loud heater in room
2. unprofessional receptionists, apparently they were not trained, a few examples: a young boy staff was collecting towers in the in-door pool, one tower was used by some guest to clean the car maybe so has lots of dirt on it, the staff said bad words in front of some kids nearby; I one time pass-by the lobby and hear some staff members were complaining about some customers loudly; housekeeping on busy hours occupied both elevators for a couple of hours and long queues were accumulated on almost every floor. On 12/31/12 the breakfast was gone some fast and starting from 8:30am the refill was kind of stopped. The promised breakfast ends at 9:30am

Wouldn't recommend is you have other choices.

I really wanted to enjoy this stay in Reno. I thought that this hotel was highly rated on Yelp and Tripadvisor, so I intentionally deviated from my normal hotel selections and stayed here.

Let's start off with the good. Hotel and rooms were clean. Facilities were nice. Free WiFi, Starbucks Coffee in the morning, free parking, etc were all convenient. I thought that it was neat how they replaced a check-in attendant with a kiosk (it's the wave of the future). The room layout is spacious, with a large living area (tradeoff: sink + bathroom are smaller).

Surprisingly there were a couple of specific things that will have me stay at another hotel the next time I'm here. First, climate control was horrible. The thermostat was near the front door of the room, all the way on the other side of the heater. Combine this with the fact that the bed is literally 2 feet away from the heater, and you'll notice that temperature fluctuates a lot. Add the fact that the heater is loud, and it makes for a very unpredictable night of sleep.

Secondly, the showerhead in the room was horrible. There were multiple settings on the showerhead, and it was either a harsh direct narrow spray, or a very low pressure drizzle. Yes, I showered fine but it was not the relaxing type of shower I had experienced at other hotels.

Third, the breakfast area was too cold. Wind drafts in the dining area kept me feeling a tad bit chilly, and the food got cold easily. Might I suggest to management that food workers use gloves to handle food, especially when moving food items from tray to tray.

Ironically, I had a much better time with the basic rooms in Silver Legacy + El Dorado in Reno (and I don't like the smoke or the gambling!)

Extremely clean and courteous staff. A lot of amenities offered. Only 3-4 miles from casinos, literally across the street from the international airport. Would stay here again. The layout of the room was perfect for me and my husband. We came during the Air Race weekend and couldn't have made a better choice.

Decent hotel. Good size room, clean and quiet. Staff is friendly, maybe a bit too friendly since the housekeeper let herself into our room while we were there. Not sure what that was about, she claimed she was checking the room and then said we didn't have our don't disturb sign out when I had put it out when we checked in. I guess that makes it ok?

We really enjoyed our stay. Nice and clean room and not mention very quiet. Breakfast is really good too. Inspite of this morning's smell (like someone is smoking cigarette) in the dining area and having a hard time closing and/or locking our bathroom door, I still recommend this place and will surely stay here whenever we're in Reno. And yeah, the staff is awesome!

I booked the Hyatt for one reason and one reason only,  They offered a free shuttle to and from the local college campus for a week long course I was taking.  The last day of the course I called for a shuttle pick-up and was told no.  The front desk person flat out refused to send the shuttle to pick me up.

I can get not wanting (or being able) to offer shuttle service.  But if that's the case, don't advertise that you do.

The BEST hotel in Reno. If you are not into gambling and you want to stay in the Reno area this is the best Hotel around. It is extremely convenient, the staff is amazing (especially Sierra, she's really nice), and it's very clean.

In addition they are right off the freeway and you don't have to walk through a smoke filled casino to get to your room. Free Wi-Fi through out the Hotel as well. They also serve free continental breakfast as well. A+

Wonderful place to stay.  Got a room last minute after I left another hotel because of problems.  Room was great, free wi-fi, decent breakfast, Wonderful service.  Right off of the highway and a short drive to downtown, Scheels/outlet mall etc.  Will be my first choice in Reno from now on.

An alright hotel. The heating/cooling fan is very noisy, you'll need earplugs to sleep. On monday morning they run out of food by 9:20 am and cleaned the breakfast room by 9:40 am even though there were a couple of dozen people who tried to get smth to eat. The breakfast was supposed to be from 6 to 10.

Very friendly staff with great dinner recommendations! Got free water bottle with yelp check in. Hotel actually has a pool AND jacuzzi! They asked us what floor we wanted and great customer service. Room did smell a bit musty though. Would stay here again. Far enough away from downtown to not be in it but close enough to visit it!

Very convenient for the airport in Reno.  I got a room here via the hotels tonight app (and saved almost $40).

The staff were very friendly, my room was spacious & clean, they have a bar and a pretty decent menu.  The WiFi was quick and reliable, sadly I had to leave too early to try out their breakfast.

There was a flatscreen TV in the room (with an HD cable signal!) and a patch panel where you could plug in various devices via HDMI or VGA.

They have a shuttle to the airport which starts up at 4.30am (it isn't that far, but I have no idea how you could walk there!)

Heck yeah! Newer hotel with a spacious king suite with a sofa sleeper for around $120. Can't beat it. We didn't want to stay in some smokey Casino type hotel so we turned to Yelp and thanks to other Yelpers we chose the Hyatt. If you want a CLEAN room with a COMFY bed this is it.
Other notes - It's really close to the airport, but I didn't hear any planes. Close to shopping and restaurants. You can take a short drive downtown if gambling is your thing.
The sofa (that is also a bed) is big and comfortable (our kids were with us). Huge TV that can be seen from the two divided sleeping areas.
FREE breakfast.

Clean quiet rooms and a non smoking hotel. Friendly staff and pleasant house keeping staff. What I've learned to expect at most Hyatt Place locations.

They try a little harder since they are not a Hyatt Regency but they are more like coming home to family each night when your on the road.

Highly recommend it.

After staying in the downtown hotels every time I visit Reno, I decided to splurge a bit more on rooms at the Hyatt - and it was worth it.

It feels a bit out of the way at first if you're driving - it's by itself between the freeway and the airport, but you can't hear either when you are in the room, which was good! The whole place is quiet, clean, modern, and just...well, sleek, in a good way. Service was super nice and fast, even though we checked in relatively late.

We only stayed a night, but the room was large. Larger than most other hotels I've been to for the same price. Our group got two rooms next to each other, so with the interconnected door, it feels even larger. The TV had a variety inputs so you can connect your computer to it, and a half-divider screen that separates an area for sitting/working from sleeping. The free wifi was fast and easy to access. Did I mention the room was huge?

Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to check out the other amenities such as the pool, but dang, the rooms themselves were very nice. We'll be returning to stay here again when we stop in Reno in the future!

This place is honestly a gem.

Rooms are very cozy and inviting - comfy bed, huge tv, massive couch, great space to work.  It's a great layout.  After 5 days here, I didn't want to leave.

There's free breakfast with an awesome selection.  Everyone who knows me knows that I am a Hampton promoter, but, I have to say that this Hyatt Place breakfast might have a Hampton one beat!  Not only is there your healthy selection of yogurt, cereal, English muffins and fruit, but there's also these assorted hot items that they change up everyday.  They had like, specialty breakfast sandwiches, French toast and other egg combinations.  Oh, and there's an amazing selection of Tazo tea.

The other great thing about this hotel is that if you don't feel like leaving the hotel for dinner (or you're stranded and having no car), they offer food 24/7.  And, yes, they have your typical burgers and wings, but they also have a good assortment of salads, soups, flatbreads, hummus and cheese plates.  Liquor and Starbucks coffee is also available.

The hotel is also at a perfect location.  It's close to the expressway, so you can basically get anywhere in Reno quickly.  There's also two large casinos within a 5-10 minute drive.  Nothing beats staying by the airport because you can almost always ensure that you will not miss your flight.

Stayed 12/21 thru 12/24 Hyatt never fails me and my family. Room are spacious and very clean. Two queen beds, sleeper sofa, bar, desk and large size bathroom.  I have family of five! They have a indoor pool and fitness room. The room complimentary breakfast was pretty decent!  My seven year old told that we should always stay at this specific Hyatt Place. She put her seal of approval on this hotel! I would recommend this hotel to anybody with children!

I really enjoyed my stay at this property.

The staff is fantastic- and the rooms are great.  I cannot say enough good things about their breakfast either.  Another win in my book, is their outdoor jacuzzi.  So nice!

Hyatt Place has become my favorite select-service hotel to stay at.  If I didn't have a corporate apartment in Reno, I'd keep staying here.

Great job - convenient to 395 and the airport!

I was really impressed with this new Hyatt!

I was visiting the Reno/Carson City area and found this hotel strickly by accident.  Hyatt Place is one of their new brands in the Hyatt chain. It has that quircky Euro feel that seems very upscale.

I arrived around 10:30pm and the Front Desk staff very welcoming.  They invited me to stop downstairs and enjoy the benefits of the bar after I got settled into my room.  They had a nice selection of both food and beverages along with some beer on tap. Nice!

I have taken several pictures of the room. It had a King bed and a nice seating area. What surprised me was the huge 50" HDTV flat screen and the plush cotton robe in the room.  All nice touches.

The hotel is located directly across the street from the airport and there is a shuttle bus available.  The other surprise was the general lack of airport noise.  I didn't hear a jet taking off once.  Also nice!

This is not a 5 star hotel.  But, it's a reasonably priced, convenient hotel that includes free wifi and free breakfast.  Non smoking, no casino.  Airport shuttle.
If you have kids, they have a room with 2 queen beds and a sofabed, so you can fit six people if needed.  Pool is small but clean (and indoors), hottub is outdoor and had AMAZINGLY strong jets, just what we needed after a day of skiing.

We stayed here recently for a weekend volleyball tournament. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The rooms are BIG and CLEAN and QUIET. Every member of the staff I came into contact with was professional, warm and friendly. The breakfast satisfied all the hungry athletes. The location is convenient to everything yet out of the fray of the busy casino scene. If your travels being you to Reno, you should stay in thiis hotel!

The last time we were in Reno a few months ago, we stayed at The Nugget. While we got the upgraded room, I still hate the smell of cigarette permeating everywhere and gets in your clothes and every article that smoke could cling on.

I was checking on Yelp for other hotels and this one intrigued me so I bookmarked it. The photos showed nice, large rooms and close by the Grand Sierra. I have kids so that should be self-explanatory.

So on another weekend getaway, we decided to come to Reno on a whim and reserved a night here. It's a pretty close drive from the strip and it's right next to the airport. From the outside, it looks similar to an Aloft or Element; both Starwood properties. It also looks pretty new, and confirmed it after speaking with the Night Auditor that it's just over 4 years old. I also got to have a nice conversation with him and shared some stories in the industry. His name is Quinton and he is a great gentlemen.

The room is spacious and the sitting room area doubles as a sofa bed. It has a refrigerator and the bedroom is separated by a partition that provides somewhat a little bit of privacy. It also has a decent-size table to work on or eat on. Even better, continental breakfast is free and is served in the dining room area near the lobby.

Wi-fi is free, along with other amenities that larger hotel chains would charge you. There's also two complimentary computer terminals in the lobby, where I am writing this review. I even received a large bottle of Aquafina water for checking-in via Yelp. The Fitness Center is a bit small, but it has the basics. The pool is also tiny; however, that's not why I choose to stay here.

The best thing of all, I cannot smell cigarette smoke. This hotel is SMOKE-FREE!

I would rather stay here and drive the extra few minutes so I won't have to deal with the crowds and people who constantly smoke like chimneys. Or if you fly here, it's right next to the airport.

Good location and the sfaff is excellent....especially Quint, who is their Night Auditor.

The hyatt was great! I cant find any hotels that don't have antique decor anymore its like everyone wants to live back in the 1800's! But i really appreciate the hyatt for the fact that the decor is modern, the rooms are very clean, smell very clean, the continental breakfast is awesome!!! Being that i worked at a hotel so i know how lousy some continental breakfasts' can be. I would totally stay here again

So, this 5 star review is as much about Yelp and Expedia as it is about Hyatt.

I needed one night in Reno. Not looking for anything crazy, just clean and comfortable. Looking over the Yelp review of Reno hotels was a bit alarming. Nothing was really pulling my attention from the highest rated or most rated crowd. Expedia did a nice price break down but still nothing on the the top of the list. There was Hyatt in the middle of the page looking all reasonable priced at $119 a night. (Not a steal but not nose bleed either; just right) I remembered seeing it as I had left the airport, thinking wow, that one is fresh.

Reserved the room on line, received the confirmation email and I went about my day. Check in was a 5 minute affair. He asked if I wanted higher or lower room, I asked him for simple. 2nd floor right near the elevator was simple enough.

Did I mention free wi-fi. Yup, every hotel who has that gets an extra yelp star. This locked Hyatt into 5 star for me. It was a very nice room large couch, ample counter pace, very comfortable bed. I slept well.

A last minute Burning Man booking meant that all the rooms in my usual stay at The Peppermill were completely gone with this place being a mere $60 for the one night it had to be tried.

This hotel really is better than the price suggests with a free two mile shuttle bus to anywhere in town and back. The location is great, just next to the airport with parking if you need it. The rooms are big and clean with a large sitting area and a nice large kitchenette and big clean bathroom. The room itself did feel quite 'premium' with lots of tasteful wood and nice materials with a huge bed. The free wifi is good an the food options are excellent for a smaller hotel like this. There was even a gym and indoor pool which I didn't get to try.

The breakfast menu seems to have a good range of fresh dishes unlike the the rather drab choices found at most small hotels. I tried a burger on my one night there which while not mind blowing was pretty nice, well priced and just what was needed after a long flight.

The staff were wonderfully helpful and enthusiastic finding the time to help you with anything you needed. They even found the time to just have a friendly conversation, because we all need that sometimes!

I really liked this hotel and if one night and a breakfast before travelling again is all you need it provides a really nice stay thats also great value.

I've been staying at this Hyatt for a few years now everytime I travel to Reno/Sparks for work. I haven't ever had a bad experience or problem so I felt it was time to write a review. I've stayed in most of the major Casino properties here(GSR, Atlantis, Peppermill etc) those places are ok but if you are a business traveler or just someone that likes peace and quiet then this Hyatt is for you. It's a small/medium hotel with a private lot right next to the airport. It has convenient freeway access if you have a car. The major things that stand out and matter to me are
1- It's quiet, very quiet. It is sandwiched between the 580 freeway and the airport. The runways are on the opposite side so I've never heard planes taking off/landing. I've never heard freeway traffic noise either. The walls are not thin, you can't hear your neighbors talking or anything like that. The is slight hallway noise that'll come through the bottom of the door when people are talking loud in the hallway but it is not a major issue.
2- It's clean, stayed maybe 7-10 times, everytime, the room is spotless
Bedding is clean, no smell of smoke etc.
3- Staff is always professional/friendly.
4- WiFi is FREE
There is no 'Resort fee' that you'll pay at Casinos, just room rate and 13% tax
$132 a night for my 4 night stay. That may or may not be spendy got some but it's worth it knowing this home away from home is quiet, clean and relaxing.
It has an indoor pool, outdoor spa and a fitness room. I haven't used any yet at this property so I can't comment.
TV is clear, some channels are in HD some analog. Their is a small mini fridge for beverages/food. The desk and living area are good places to do work on your laptop.
I don't have anything negative to say really. I just keep coming back here everytime I'm in town.
