Not that bad of a place. Very friendly staff. Pretty close to downtown.

Clean bed, clean towels, nice staff, not much to look at on the outside, but I didn't mind much. Price was good, small fridge in room is nice. Was clean in the room as well.

Clean, fine. Friendly staff. For a motel, very nice. Small refrigerator in room, lots of towels and pillows, restaurant attached to motel for which you get a $3 coupon off for breakfast with your room. A bargain . . . stay here!

Place seems very run down.  The pool was closed off and the spa was drained.  The "continental" breakfast is barely passable.  The free wifi was hit and miss.  The room was on the smallish side for having two doubles in it.

Very friendly clerk and clean room. Breakfast was...ok. If better breakfast would get 5 stars IMO.

This place will gave me a reasonable rate on a no-frills room when all the casino hotels were booked up. Clean from bathroom to bed, decent TV, hot water, plenty of laundered towels and toiletries - pretty much everything you need for a fair price. The hallways and parking lot were a bit creepy and the mosquitoes were a nuisance, but hey, it's budget lodging. The front desk guy was really friendly, helpful and efficient. If you can't get into a hotel and need a room, check this place before resorting to a Motel 6, Super 8 or Comfort Inn.

The room was clean and everything worked well. I don't recommend the breakfast (pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes), but it's fine if you just need some quick food. I paid $80 for a Friday night in January and would stay here again if I just wanted a place to sleep and clean up.

Not bad for the price. The minus 2 stars is because I am in a pet room because I am moving across the country with my cat, and the room REEKS of dog urine. You can actually see the urine stains on the wall in several spots. My cat on the other hand does not smell and does not urinate wherever she pleases, so the smell was a suprise to me. You get used to the smell after about an hour, but they didn't charge me a pet fee so I can't complain too much I guess. The room needs serious odor treatment though. Other than that, friendly staff, clean looking room, and easy parking.

I have been calling around all over Reno for a hotel for a friend that has been on the road for over 10 hours and just drove into Reno. I decided to use Yelp as so far my fellow yelpers have not let me down.

There were many hotels I called and they were just plain rude or just not helpful. I guess Reno has no shortage of visitors and is not experience any part of this recession, thus they do not need our patronage there.

I finally got around to calling Quality Inn and talked with Lupe who was just a gem! She was lovely, polite, and helpful on the phone. The room rates were the best price I received in the area. Plus they have a complimentary breakfest.

Will post more about the room after my friend stays the night. Oh and they have non-smoking rooms, so we will see!

Happy so far with the service.

company booked me in another motel, i called a friend to yelp a place for me and was super happy to find this place.  It's not the Ritz, but even the Ritz isn't the Ritz anymore.
Great people, clean and quiet, worth the rate and more.
Lupe your wonderful!
thank you

I found this inn on-line and booked it. Got there about 10 pm. Check-in was easy. The room was decent for the price. The WIFI was relatively fast.

The A/C didn't work but I was too tired to change rooms. Since the fan was functioning it kept the room at a just tolerable temperature. There was a cigarette burn in the one of the bedspreads about the size of a quarter. The screen to the outdoor terrace kept sliding off its track and had to be re-set each time it was opened.

I told the person at the front desk about the A/C at checkout. He told me the system was old and needed to be replaced. Not really the response one would expect. This inn has potential but the staff need to be more responsive to the operational condition of the basic items mentioned above.

I will start with the positive.  OUR room was clean and did not smell like cigarette smoke.  The staff was very friendly. We were able to get a room when all the hotels on the strip were booked up.  Here's Why!   The "Quality" stopped there.  We arrive late at around 12:30 p.m. and it was cold.  We couldn't get the heat to turn on and discovered the next day from the manager that this hotel only has EITHER heat OR cooling so if you happen to arrive during an unseasonably warm or cold day good luck getting your room comfortable.  My sister-in-law's room smelled awful. I had read a review about the rooms smelling like cigarette smoke so I was careful to call ahead and make sure that I didn't get a smelly room.  The bed was small and uncomfortable only adding to the discomfort of being cold.  We didn't try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that.  Motel 6 is directly across the street for almost half the price you can probably get the same accommodations.  If you can afford it spend a little and skip this place.

Friendly and efficient check-in, room was large, clean, and nice, breakfast was very good. By far the nicest Quality Inn I've ever stayed in. I'd really rate it 4-1/2 stars if I could - 5 if the thermostat on the room functioned correctly.

I know I just bagged on this place in my last review of the Peppermill, but the truth is once we got here we were pleasantly surprised. The bed was firm and comfortable, the room was clean, the shower pressure was incredible, there was cable, their restaurant was actually really good for diner food... I can't complain.

I have to be honest, I had this place confused with Comfort Inn, which was HORRIBLE. So, don't be confused. This spot was pretty dope.

Quality Inn is on the South End of Virginia Street, and very easy to find.

Gentlemen at the front desk is super super nice.  Quick check-in since I made the reservation online, room was super easy to locate.

Clean room, and the heat worked - since it was very cold this past weekend with the first storm of the season.

Resonable rates, and got a quality nights sleep.

We loved Janna!  She was so helpful and super friendly when we checked in.  I love that the rooms also have a huge sliding glass door.  I was here with one of my friends, and I would definitely say that we felt safe.

Stayed here over night passing through.  They have flat screen TV's and the rooms are huge.  Looks like they are re modeling with paint and things.  Didn't bother me a bit.  In fact, It's great to see businesses keeping up this the times and looking fresh.  The view of the Motel 6 across the street was my only complaint.  Over all, great stay.  Very pleasant lady manager too.  Very helpful and easy on the eyes. :)

A bit shabby and poor shower pressure. And, yes, it costs more than some of the casino rooms. But I will gladly pay a little extra to NOT stay in a casino

When I first checked in and saw that the rooms had big glass sliding doors in place of one wall, facing out to a common area or the pool, I was like "Awww ffffff this is gonna be noise and privacy invasion city." I was pleasantly surprised by the almost total silence during my stay! May have been an artifact of being here on weekdays in the "low season" and just hardly anyone else was around, but whatevs. It worked out. Floor-ceiling insulation was a little shaky as I managed to get Resident Elephant III of my trip one of the nights, but otherwise I didn't hear anything from anyone like ever.

More interesting design than the usual hotel in this price range. Looks like it was designed as an upscale family getaway place back in the 50s or 60s, but converted and kept up decently over the years. Place looks like a little village with nice landscaping, pool at the center that's a bit bigger than a Motel 6 pool. Nice lobby, basic hot breakfast included, Indian restaurant on site that does a lunch buffet for like 7 or 8 bucks.

Comfort Inn and Quality Inn are the two Choice Hotels properties in this area. At the prepaid Choice Rewards rate for a "low season" weekday, it was like 74/nite for the Comfort Inn and 55/nite for the Quality. Quality is totally fine but just lacking in some of the amenities that Comfort offers - slightly smaller rooms, smaller mini-fridge, no microwave, no sofa or loveseat, no casino shuttle, no fitness center. Quality has both free wired and wireless internet, but the wireless was spotty (would stop working for 30 min stretches sometimes.) On the plus side the restaurant on-site is really convenient and there's a much bigger range of restaurants and stores right outside than there is at Comfort (which is wedged between airport nowhereland and the ghetto).

Might be a different story when its crowded, but I'd defintely come back during the non-busy season for this price.

I don't expect much from motels in general. This one was a very pleasant surprise! The room was clean and large and besides a burn hole in the sheets and a slight smell of cologne, it was downright enjoyable! The breakfast actually had hot food and a nice dining room and the shower had good pressure and temps. I was really happy to see conditioner provided as well as shampoo (when did most hotels go to the all-in-one? It's a terrible trend). Beds were soft and the pillows were good. All around pleasant experience!

The rooms are great. They have open terrace that lead to the pool great place to hang and have a sweet cigar. The inner atrium is quiet. I left my tooth brush at home and the day staff happily handed me a fresh clean one. They have complementary toiletries at the front counter. The coffee is free in the lobby. The bar is down the street and is backed by all kinds of shops and stores around, even the donut shop is right across the street.

Visitors beware!! Our car was broken into and the windows smashed overnight. We didn't realize that the hotel is out of the downtown area, even though on many websites it is sorted as a downtown hotel. The surrounding area is more desolate and run down. I am a bit shocked looking at the previous reviews. I would not classify this as a "nice" hotel. The hotel is outdated, ugly and dirty. When you walk in the rooms you feel a bit icky about touching anything. We had a hard time finding last minute availability anywhere in Reno and ended up here. I would not recommend it! Pay extra and go elsewhere.

Got a chance to stay here over Labor Day Weekend 2013, as most of the mainstream properties I visit in Reno were completely sold out.  I was fortunately able to reserve a room seconds before it was given away.  The front desk staff was very friendly, and I actually felt a bit sorry for the clerk, who was unfortunately dealing with a quite obvious crackhead woman who was screaming at the top of her lungs because her credit card got charged as a result of her not canceling her reservation properly.  Oh well, policy is policy...good thing the cops came and got her!

The room was a very nice size for the price, and having a balcony with a sliding glass door is always a big plus, especially when there's no outside noise.  Each building has an exterior courtyard-type setting, similar to what you'd see at an apartment complex. Based on the configuration of the bathroom, I believe I was in a handicapped accessible room, but no complaints, especially for a holiday weekend. Water pressure and air conditioner were flawless.

The Quality Inn franchise boasts a "Q Bed" - premium mattress, 250 thread count sheets, and lots of pillows.

Free wifi and free daily breakfast are included in the bill.  The hotel is pet friendly with a $10 per night additional charge, and there's supposedly a weight limit (2 pets per room at 25 pounds each,) but they welcomed my 50 pound German Shepherd with no problem.

The only thing I want to mention is that if Indian food is not your thing, be prepared to get knocked down in the lobby, and hold your breath, as there's an Indian buffet type restaurant adjacent to it, with the smells coming out being a bit overpowering.

Definitely recommend.

Not a great place to stay. Unfortunately for me, I had to stay overnight in Reno on a Saturday night on a busy spring weekend, so most everything near the airport was booked. Except this, and thanks to Orbitz, which I will not use again, I prepaid $101 including tax for the dirty, hot, sleepless night. I would have considered this at least a cheap stay if it had $45-50, and that would have been the highlight.

Upon check-in, I was given a room that was someone else's. I am sure if they were there they would have been surprised by my appearance in the doorway. Lucky for me they were not, and lucky for them I am honest and did not steal their valuables. Upon second check-in, I was exhausted from a long day of travel, and just wanted to carry all my stuff up and down the stairs only one more time, so I just accepted the dirty rag in the chair in the middle of the room, the black mold in the shower and the stained sheets. On the bright side, I did not have bedbugs. As mentioned in another review, make sure to go there during the right weather. It was unseasonably warm, and only the heat was on, so our room was about 90 degrees when we arrived. With the sliding door open all night, we cooled down to a dealable temp by midnight or so. This also allowed in a lot of the noise of the drag racing harleys on the street. Then some helicopters circled for a while, drowning out the drag racing for at least 15 minutes. We did not partake in the breakfast offerings, as we just wanted to get out of there without catching something.

In short, I found this hotel to be dirty, run down and far from any definition of "quality". Also, I thought it was overpriced for the dump that it is.

We had a spacious 2 queen bed room with balcony for $72 + tax. (First floor rooms have a patio.) Excellent outdoor pool - big, perfect temperature. Very nice bedding and comfortable beds. Quiet AC. Ask for an inner courtyard room so that your balcony or patio overlooks the pool.

Breakfast was ok - it's in the onsite Indian Restaurant, which unfortunately still smells like Indian food in the morning (I don't dislike Indian cuisine, I just prefer not to smell it while eating scrambled eggs and donuts).

Wifi was good enough at night to stream videos, but in the morning it was very spotty and slow.

Note: This is a pet-friendly hotel, and apparently pets are allowed to poop anywhere (unlike some hotels where there is a designated location for that activity, away from areas frequented by humans who don't bring pets).

PRO: Very convenient to stores and airport. The staff were very nice. The complimentary breakfast was good.

CON: Wifi is very slow. Need to update their televisions each room I had the remote did not work or you had use two different ones.

Over all stay was nice. If they fix the few con issues it would be 5 star place to stay.

This is a really nice, cheap hotel, that takes dogs!!

We stayed here just one night to attend a graduation and had our two dogs with us. The hotel was nice and clean, fairly spread out, lots of places to walk the dogs and tons of parking, also, right in the old downtown-ish area(not near the casinos). We paid around $70 including the $10 fee per dog!

We didn't get to eat there, but the Indian restaurant that's attached to the hotel smelled REALLY GOOD!

Would definitely stay there again!
