I travel almost every month for a month at a time. This was by far the friendliest staff that I have come across. No matter which shift was on at the front desk, management, house cleaning or any other staff members they were always pleasant, said a greeting and was friendly. My room was great. Housekeeping great. I had to be picked up or dropped off at the airport twice throughout the month and they were always on time. I could not have asked for more from the staff. If I ever had to go to Reno again, I would stay there in a heart beat. Its also right off the freeway (easy access) and close to shopping and the main street in Reno.  Breakfast every morning and food in the evening from Monday-Wed. Main lobby, gym very clean and bright.

The upside to this property was the price we locked in for a four day volleyball tournament in comparison to the other families who booked at other hotels this past weekend. I was able to get a set price of $80 through Priceline (Thurs-Sun) each night. There was a nice breakfast buffet each morning with a great range of breakfast foods. It is conveniently located about a block from a Starbucks, McDonald's, Smith's Grocery Store and Wing stop restaurant off So. Meadows Ln and two gas stations. Took about 5 minutes down Hwy 395 to reach Convention Center/Atlantis Casino and another 5 minutes to reach Downtown Reno.
The downside was the sleeper sofa that had a hideaway bed which was not comfortable at all. We ended switching out with my wife and daughter getting the Queen bed and I took sofa bed. The high speed Internet in the room also went down more than couple of times and was inconsistent but still overall cleanliness, friendly staff and decent price met our needs. Wi-Fi only in the lobby gatehouse.

5 stars goes to the Inn of choice for snowboarding trips to Northstar/Tahoe. 1) it's cheap (for a friend who has connections), and 2) continental breakfast?! I'm there! We stay here Saturday night and get up Sunday morning for breakfast (waffles w/ strawberry jam, sausage, eggs, CHEESE SAUCE (nacho cheese sauce), biscuits, donuts, etc etc.). Breakfast will usually get us to our next next meal (we'll save a little of the breakfast for lunch), so how do you NOT love this Inn? 3) Friendly service always at the front desk, even when we request a gazillion towels and use the wrong Marriott key to get into the buildings.

Being an ex employee of Residence Inn's, I personally know a good one when I see it. When we stayed as a family at this Residence Inn during the winter season, the employee's were so nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. At the time, we all had dogs which for those of you who dont know DOGS ARE ALLOWED at residence inn's for a deposit fee. :) The breakfast was good, the room service was good, the rooms were awesome. We even were scared of the whole snow next to the cars ordeal but everyday that it snowed they had someone come out who cleared the sidewalks and streets and even around the cars. It was a nice relaxing place to stay and I would stay here again and again!

I am a fan of Marriott in general, and especially Residence Inn. I love the full kitchens and the friendly service.
This hotel was similar to most every other Residence Inn. It seems a bit outdated- they need to update their TV's especially. But it was super clean and in a good location.

Well kept and clean.  Easy freeway access but not adjacent to the noisy highway.  Breakfast hours way too short on Sundays 7-9:30.

This is a fair hotel, but a poor Residence Inn.  It is supposedly slated for a $2,000,000 renovation in 2012, but with 120+ rooms plus public areas this might not be enough.  The staff is friendly and helpful, but this is a run down property that shows its age.  My room had a desk chair with a broken arm, one of the wine glasses was cracked, the bath mat was barely fit to be a rag, and the carpet was showing wear.  It was clean but dated.  However, the old TVs that other reviewers mentioned have been replaced with large flat screens.

Wireless internet is available in the lobby, but the rooms were wired only.

The breakfast had limited selections compared to other Residence Inns I've frequented, and they were slow to replenish items as they ran out.  There were too few tables to accommodate the guests, and Styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery were provided instead of quality dinner ware.

The pool, although supposedly heated, was bone chillingly cold and there were rarely enough clean towels available.  Fortunately the hot tub was a great place to warm up after an icy plunge.

Let's face it, you have to have low expectations in Reno, but Residence Inn still fails to meet them.  You can do better elsewhere.

Booked a king room & one with 2 queens, but they only had king rooms left when we arrived.  Associate quickly mentioned that all rooms had pull-out couches & that linens were in the closet, so we should be OK.  There were old/ dirty sheets on the mattress when we pulled it out - luckily there were fresh sheets in the closet, but still...

Then went to open a water & found that the caps weren't sealed on any of the bottles in either room.  Stayed 2 nights & they didn't make our bed/ clean the bedroom when we got back the next day at 5pm???

None of this is major stuff, but I had higher expectations.  The saving grace was the morning breakfast.  Unlike many hotels , they kept it open until the food ran out.  Being on vacation, my family didn't always make it down by 9am & it was nice to have a bit of a grace period.  The server was awesome as well; so friendly!

In any given city, Residence Inn tends to be located a stone's throw - or two - from where the action is, but that's a minor inconvenience if you have access to a car or a good public transportation system. This property is ideal for families or friends who would like some privacy or a little extra space to spread out. Accommodations are in studio, one-, and two-bedroom (two-bath) apartments, with fully-equipped kitchens and comfortable living rooms with a dining area. Amenities include satellite TV with premium channels, video games, and pay-to-view movies, phone with dataport and voice mail, and a fireplace in select units. There's a swimming pool and fitness center with cardiovascular equipment and free weights on-site. Rates - which vary by season and day of the week, but generally start at $129 - include a buffet breakfast and an evening reception with complimentary cocktails and snacks.

I recently visited this location to check out the facility in the even we would be needing to find a long term stay facility.  This property was beautiful, well maintained, and modern.  The front desk manager was very helpful and the Housekeeping manager showed us around - they were both courteous, and willing to spend a few minutes giving us the information we wanted.  Would definitely stay here.

We stayed here one night before my wife's flight from Reno.

We stayed on a certificate so we didn't have to pay for the room but that did not influence my review.

When we arrived and the front desk the staff was so friendly.  Very outgoing and they appreciated the fact that we were gold members and thanked us many times for staying with Marriott. I don't know how they treat regular guests but based on their demeanor I would guess that they treat everyone the same.

We had a studio room on the second floor.  The room was spacious and clean.  It looks like they recently refreshed the rooms. Everything worked and the kitchen area was clean along with the silverware and glasses.

The linens were clean and not worn.  Pillows were OK maybe they could have been better, a little lumpy.

The room was relatively quiet. I heard some noise from the floor above but nothing major.

This hotel is close to the airport, about five minutes and they do have a shuttle if you need it.

Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations and was above some of the other RI I have stayed at in the past.

Great job. Keep up the good work

    This hotel is terrible!!

One of the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel.
I should have stayed at a LaQuinta.

    DO NOT stay here!!

We stayed over the New Year holiday.  Despite my major reservation mistake, they worked hard to accommodate our family.  The staff navigated a very full property professionally and with smiles all the way around.  Rooms are very nice and housekeeping was tip top.  We will stay again and refer to our friends.

Whenever my family and I are in Reno, we always stay here. Rooms are clean and comfy, and the free breakfast is amazing. If the hotel breakfast warranted a separate review, I'd write it. Their cheesecake/chocolate muffins they serve are amazing.

Not a lot of cons, except there's nothing really in the area, save for Domino's, Subway, a Vietnamese noodle place, and a sports bar. It's okay, since my family usually gets In-n-Out on the way to the hotel anyways.

Older Residence Inn with air conditioner problems.  Located just out of town off freeway.  Staff was not very receptive.  The two people at the desk in the lobby always seemed to be playing a video game.  We stayed five days.  Got to know the routine.  Cleaning staff could not speak English, usually no problem, but we were not getting our roomed cleaned until after 4pm and on one day not at all.  Front desk said they would take care of it.  They did not.  We like the Residence Inn experience usually but this one is off our list.  Not recommended.

It wasn't very busy but we had a pleasant stay. Upon arrival they upgraded our party of three to a two-bed, two-bath suite with a fireplace. The gentleman at the front desk even made fresh coffee though it was rather late. Rooms were clean and the breakfast had a nice selections of items. It is conveniently located near the airport and other amenities. It appeared to be recently upgraded and was very clean. The in-suite kitchen made it easy for us to pack our lunch for a day trip to North Lake Tahoe. Would definitely return if in the area.

The residence inn is a great extended stay hotel, I chose this place based on the kitchenette and booked the two-room suite.

Kitchenette details: Full size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. 2 burner stove that works well (elec.). All basic utensils, cookware, plates etc. Do keep in mind that the pans are thin, I'd suggest bringing a good pan if you plan to use the kitchen to it's full extent, worked great for me. The pots were fine and did their job.

Laundry right down the hall, $3 for one wash/dry cycle.

The restroom is nicely updated, clean looking finishes, operates well.

The bedroom has a lot of space, comfortable bed and soft sheets.

Breakfast/supper: Each morning a simple hot breakfast is available, coffee, tea, fresh fruit. A few weeknights they offer light bites including beer/wine.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel for an extended stay in Reno, I would not recommend this for larger groups or weekenders, it's a calm quiet place in South Reno.

How can I start? 4:34 pm 3/28/15 I get a call from the front desk asking if I have a child? I kindly say yes, then she replies well, we have a noise complaint about crying!  I say okay, it's a baby, babies cry!!  I hear dogs barking but do I complain? She then say's well that's not supposed to happen! Okay, then I reply again: a baby cries and I can only do what I can to console him! I hang up cause it's plain stupid to call me complaining about a baby crying when you have dogs barking at night!!! It's a Saturday afternoon!!! I come many miles to see and spend time with my family while on leave and this is what I get??? Complaints???! This place is dog friendly but I guess not baby friendly! So if you have kids I recommend not staying here! I booked a room here cause in other Residence Inn's all over the country that I've  stayed at were good but this place has changed my mind !! Asking me if there's anything they can do!! There is something they can do, they can give me back all the months I had to leave them while deployed over seas!! All the nights my baby and pregnant wife were left by themselves wondering where their daddy was and if he was safe!!! All the first times like birth days and first words spoken, If they can do that then I would come back here!! Until then they won't see one red cent from me and my family!!! One star? Yeah, you can feed that to the dogs!!!

The walls were paper thin.  We heard everything from all the adjacent rooms.

The front desk service was okay.  They need to improve the customer service.  We weren't warmly greeted.

The grassy area had dog feces all over the place.   We couldn't go out and sit on the grass, or play catch because of the crap.

The only plus was the breakfast at no extra cost

Very pleasant stay here at Reno Residence Inn while our daughter was participating in volleyball tournament.  When we checked in, the clerk upgraded our room to a 2-bedroom suite at no extra charge.  The room was huge, very clean, and had everything we needed.  Breakfast was standard fare - waffles, eggs, toasts, muffins, fruit, etc.

If I could give the rating of a zero I would. Be very careful with your credit card as they will charge you for stays even when you didn't stay there or charge wrong cards. Good luck trying to get a manager to resolve the issue as they have no sense of urgency.

I want to give a review of one star because of the customer service we had to start, but also wanted to give a five star review for the customer service we received after staff swaps. Hopefully management reads these!! My boyfriend who is a gold member asked Ron, the old, bald, short, stubby man behind the counter if we could possibly get an upgrade from a one bedroom to a two bedroom suite. We had a friend joining us last minute with a bad back and thought if they had something available, then it would be much better for her not to have to sleep on a sofa bed. After asking, Ron turned us down with no other options saying nothing was available. We got into our room to check out just how bad the sofa bed was and it was worse than laying on the ground! We checked online to see if any two bedrooms were available and there were, so I went downstairs to ask once again if upgrading was an option, and if not free, then how much more would it be? His response was everything but compassionate. He said he had nothing available and the upgraded fee would be $210.00!!!! Seriously!? That's more than what we would spend on getting an ADDITIONAL two bedroom room! And he just admitted something must have been available if he would have taken our money to do change our rooms.
Our luck and service changed several hours later. I went back into the lobby just to ask the heartless man what his name was cause I was too frustrated to remember to get it sooner. To our surprise, staff had changed over and we spoke to Catherine who was SUCH a huge help!!! We asked her if there was a chance we could upgrade, told her all about what had happened when we checked in and she at first said she wasn't sure she had anything available but she kept looking and looking and typing as quick as she could and was able to upgrade us and gave us a 2pm checkout time to make up for Ron's lack of professionalism. She was sooooo wonderful!!  Zero stars for Ron! A million stars for Catherine! If I could give her anymore praises I would!! Give her a promotion and a raise! She deserves it for the way she responded to the whole thing! Absolute wonderful customer service. If she was the one to check us in in the first place, this would have definitely gotten five stars (more if I could).
Also a ten star review to the cooking staff who set up the continental breakfast, she was the sweetest lady and even when we came in right at 9:30 when they were ready to close down breakfast time, she made more eggs and sausage just for us!
Rooms were nice, beds were nice. As long as you don't have to deal with Ron, this is a wonderful hotel to stay at!
