Do not stay here.  The desk woman is a bitch!  she owns the place and you have to argue with her to get your deposit back.  This is before she even checked the room.  i almost gave them a star for the pool, but there was a hornets nest above it so whatever, no stars at all!!  Oh except the mandatory one i guess

I booked two identical rooms and both rooms were confirmed at the same price. When I arrived a higher price was demanded for one of the rooms. It was late and I had no choice but to pay the higher price. Super 8 motels are often run down old buildings. Sometimes the rooms are nice other times they are dumps. So, you gamble when you reserve a room at super 8. This time I lost. The room was a dump and I was overcharged. Went to Days Inn in Reno on my return trip. Much better room than Super 8 at a lower price.

Have to concur with everybody here. They're the cheapest thing in Reno but it's always a terrible room with a giant Fuck You from the managers. I'm going to try getting on Couchsurfing next time. Or an overpriced downtown flophouse. So worth an extra $50 not to visit the unhappiest Super 8 on earth.

I stayed at this motel before and after Burning Man '09 and found it to be quite satisfactory.  The rooms were clean and all facilities were functional.  The staff we encountered were not rude.

It is an older place that has been maintained well but does show some signs of age.

The room reeked like cigarettes, and the owners stood around watching and chuckling as everyones cars got stuck in the snowed in parking lot.

I was standing around laughing, too. But I'm not the business owner. And this is yelp.

RUN AWAY!!!!!!!  Stay in your car!!!!! They do not care the toilet does not flush!!!!

This was by far the worst stay we have ever had in a motel. For Example, when we arrived, there was dirt in the shower, the toilet did not flush and the AC/heater put out a horrendous stink so bad we had to open the door to try to air the room out.  The blankets woke us up during the night they smelled so bad, I alerted management, to the issues and their response, "Thank you". Also, no ice, the pool was freezing and the tile in the pool was from 15 bad bathroom renovations.  Their sad attempt at breakfast was not worth going near.  To have Sunday breakfast over at 8:30 says they do not want to spend anything on you, very obvious given the condition of the rooms....  At this point, never again will we stay at Super8.

I hope people read these reviews before they commit to staying here.  I wish I would have. TERRIBLE PLACE!!!!  Management is the worst I have ever encountered in my life.  LIARS! CHEATS! THIEVES!!  No none should put themselves through what I went through.  AVRIK the owner is a swindler and does not care anything about their guests.  STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

This place really isn't bad.  Rooms were clean (though a bit beat) and the front desk management seemed professional and courteous.  It might get more stars for the budget lodging category but for the sliding price scale.  I happened to stay here during Rib festival and paid $133 which seems like an unfair price.   I guess the whole town gorges during rib fest!

Don't stay here!  The AC and mini fridge were not working in our room.  The rooms look like the ones in Motel 6, no better! I'm not sure if they even have AC, I think all they have is a vent that circulates air!  We had checked in at about noon on 6/29/13, but did not go up to our room until about 7:30 pm.  Temperature in Reno was about mid 90's.  We find out the appliances above are not working, so I go downstairs bc the lobby won't pick up the darn phone.  There's a line of about 4 ppl ahead of me.  There are 2 other ppl in line there to complain about the same issue.  They end up being able to stay and WAIT "about 30 minutes" for the 2nd time for the maintenance guy to show up.  I have 2 toddlers and am not willing to wait and see "when" the maintenance guy will show up! The ONE girl working on a Saturday night cannot issue a refund/cancel my transaction so I agree to try another room ( & I check the other room myself, bc she's too busy and has other things to "take care of").  I check the other room and with the thermostat at 60 degrees, the room is still warm.  I go back down to return the keys, while yet another person just drops her keycards at the desk bc she can't keep waiting around for the AC to be fixed & she states "she'll take the loss" and walks out.  I get to the counter again, and again the one girl working on a Saturday night, "cannot" issue a refund & I will have to call & see if the manager, "Leon", will do the job.  I call on Monday, & talk to "Leon" & now he says he has to check with the owner since his records show that we "checked-in at noon"!  What?!!! They were obviously getting other complaints & should have the courtesy giving customers the benefit of the doubt.  We were there to check in and reserve the room early so we didn't have to do it in the evening with 2 little ones! We ended up having to spend 2 hours trying to figure out a "solution" with this one clerk, and to no avail! We left without a place to stay and had to crash at a friends house there in Reno.  I just hope no one ever has to go through this place again!

This review is for 09/13/2011. I had booked a room in Super 8 and I didn't care where I was going to stay as long as it was my temporary home. So, I got a typical room from Super  8 Motel just across the University of Nevada Reno.

I called a person named Happy. She gave me a rate of $49.99 per night for two nights. My total was $56.49. I think its a typical rate, but I wasn't complaining. I was given Room 202 which was upstairs. It was a simple room outdated room, but if I wanted to stay at a classier hotel, I would have stayed at one of the local casinos. They have free Wi-fi which I took advantage of since there weren't that many people staying at the hotel.

It is a simple place, but I wouldn't want to stay in the motel all day. You got Downtown Reno for God's sake. Go have fun or walk around campus which is across the street.

Overall, its not great, but its not the worst. Its a place to rest for awhile while enjoying the city. Its a MOTEL, not a Hotel. Anyways, I got comped two rooms at Harrah's Reno and that is the reason why I wasn't going to stay the second night a Super 8. Anything free, I'll take.

The Yelp Universe. Where are you traveling today?

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the 4th of July long weekend. We did not expect a fancy hotel suite, and the room that we stayed in met our expectations for the most part. It was clean, the conditioner was working, and that was all we cared about for the most part. One star off for not having refrigerators in the room and a water cooler at least in the lobby. That was the first motel I've been to that did not have some kind of refrigerator in the room. Fortunately, there is ice, which was definitely better than nothing. Breakfast was not very good either, but we've expected that too based on our prior experiences with cheap motels. It was too early for us as well: 6am-9am. We preferred to sleep in and get a nice breakfast somewhere in downtown area instead. The reason we got this hotel was because it offered the lowest rates for the holiday weekend (per online search). Other than the lack of refrigerator and filtered water, our 3-night stay was comfortable.

Terrible. Stay far away. Room smelled funky. Fixtures substandard. There was mysterious "matter" in the bed, staining the sheets and pillows. They wouldn't refund our money.

Stayed here for a hot August night reasonably priced so that's why we stay I should have gone to the Peppermill and spent the extra $100 the towels were dirty the bed was poorly made and just did not feel clean but then on the other hand you get what you pay for

This place is an insult to "dumpy motels". Heat was slow in turning on, so we wore our coats while we inspected the place. Water on the bathroom floor; bathroom light was so noisy it sounded like a jet plane taking off; bedside light was burned out; and the TV remote didn't work. We were offered a different room but opted for a different motel and took the loss of $$ for the reservation.

Horrible! Dont come here!! Not worth the price they charge. Toilet did not work, and we called "got it repaired" and still did not work. Told the owner and all he said was sorry. Very unsatisfied!

    Saturday February 21st, 2015 3:30 A.M. Room 402

Owner/operator granted us free early check-in when I reserved my room for 2/20-22. We found a bedbug, put it in a Super 8 paper cup filled with water. We promptly packed up, and headed downstairs to notify the owner. He took half a glance at it (without any hint of surprise) and somehow felt comfortable saying, with any annoyed look on his face, "No, there are no bedbugs in that room." Of course, we voiced our curiosity at what alternative he must've been insinuating. He got annoyed with us. We asked to check out early, and upon him bringing back the receipt, I asked if he was refunding for both nights. He mumbled, so I politely inquired once more. I did not feel it was an uncalled for question, as having to leave at that inconvenient hour (and facing procuring lodging elsewhere, when there is no guarantee of free early check-in) prompted me to feel a little screwed over. He said I was "trying to play a little game" and that he didn't want to have problems. I replied, "no I'm not playing a game, but I just-" He cut me off to murmur about something to the effect that he won't ever work out special deals again for customers. I didn't need a guilt trip because of his oversight. I said, rather heatedly, "Well maybe if you cleaned your fucking rooms!" At that, he burst into anger, yelling to me "Fuck you! You fucking motherfucker!" (Eloquent, yes) and hurried us out of the lobby before slamming the door and locking it. Extremely unprofessional and I want everyone to know about this guy, and how he's running this place; into the ground.

So here we go, I arrived to the "MOTEL", and 3 people were ahead of me waiting in line. And it took me 25 minutes waiting in line for the Check-in. I was patience to wait, but I thought it could be more efficient. They charged me $130 per night. And I think it was little bit overpriced. I stayed here one night on July 4th. Since this was a last minute booking, so I couldn't find a better option.

Well, I finally got my key and I've been assigned to Room 202, which was the second floor of the front building. The lock of this room wasn't working very well, which seemed to have some glue sticking inside of the lock and made it harder to turn and open. Anyway, I finally got inside the room after a few attempts. The room was simple and conservative. The room had all the standard appliances (coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, CRT TV (not working), fridge, cabinets, wooden table, two chairs, one bed and old fashion lamps). This room was only for resting and showering.

I was excited of the free breakfast in the beginning. However, I was so disappointed after I saw the breakfast in the next morning.   They only offered a few breads with jams, and a small jar of orange juice (tasted the way too sour) I ended up didn't eat the breakfast and I didn't want to hurt my stomach.

    Customer Service is not good.
Front desk is little rude. (Not to me, but to another customer)

Anyway, my conclusion is I will never come back to this "motel" next time.

apirl 17th i came to this super 8 motel to stay for two nights the older guy that was working the customer service or check in  desk apparently doesnt give a crap about his customers because he only changed me for one night when i had asked for two. my mistake is not reading the contact showing the number of niight but you would think if they cared about there customer they would have doubled checked. An if i didnt have the intent to stay two night why would i leave my stuff in the room. when i came back to get in my room my key didnt workk well i go to the check in desk an the lady makes out that i'm lying an uses the contact against stating that if you want to go to court thats fine. just those words alone show the very poor unexperienced in business an customer service. you would think she would just try to make thing better but nope just was hude the rest of the time. I stated that iw ill not be returning to this motel and she was like thats fine. then i get thin my room an i had spilled some food on the bed sheets an as i pulled the blankets back the spot was still there. goes to show that they dont change their sheets if they so thought i wasnt comming back.

This is the worst hotel ever. The front desk staff was very rude. When we got in our room it was very run down. The dresser drawer was broken off. I called the office to let them know so they dont charge me for it. When we checked in she photo copied my credit card. Then tried to blame it on me when it didnt have the raised #'s on it. Will never stay here again.

I think this is the only Wyndham property in Reno I hadn't stayed at yet, and though they often have lower rates than anyone else on weekends, I'd been avoiding the place due to an absolute avalanche of terrible reviews both here and on Tripadvisor. I just needed 4 walls and a roof on a Friday night before leaving town, tho, and with my 20% discount the rate was only $37 after tax in the off-season with no football game or anything in town, so I decided to give it the ol' college try.

Upon checking in I was pleasantly surprised by the room. I don't know if this is one of those places that has some good rooms and some crappy rooms and I lucked into a good one, but it was comparable to the other decent under-$50-on-weekdays Wyndham and Choice places in town. Clean enough, TV with Charter Business, microwave and fridge, coffee maker. It turned out the coffee maker leaked water out the back, the toilet water pressure was iffy and I couldn't get the wifi to connect, but otherwise for the low weekend rate it was OK.

It was all good until 1 am when someone woke me up doing their Ron Jeremy impression ... only for about 4 minutes LOL ... still enough to wake me up though :( I got woken up again when at 4 am, Frito Bandito the Hair-Triggered Bandit went out on the balcony with a room full of vaguely thuggish-dressed Mexican kids from the room on the other side of me being stupid and making all kinds of noise right in front of my room. Spitting on people's cars non-stop from the balcony too for some reason. Get that checked out dude, that is not normal, could be a gland problem

Anyway, I just checked out at 6am since my sleep was shot, and as I was leaving I noticed heaps of rooms had the curtains cracked like they were unoccupied, so I don't know why they had to cram all of us together in the corner of one building. My hope was this place would be quiet since it's way out from any casinos but apparently the low rates combined with lack of bank-issued credit card/deposit requirement attracts the partiers and goons anyway. I guess it's good if you're coming to watch a Wolfpack football game since the stadium is literally right across the street, if you're traveling in a group and can get rooms next to each other then it would be OK, but I dunno otherwise. Unsure whether I would give it another shot on my own.
