I have stayed at the Homewood Suites three times, and would not stay anywhere else while in Albany. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the rooms well-appointed, very clean and really just a home away from home. The service is exceptional - including running me around Wolf Rd while there, filling my fridge with groceries before arrival, and doing just about anything to make my stay more comfortable.

I am a regular business traveler and this is one of the best (if not the BEST) hotel I've stayed in.  Large spacious suites, meals that are as good as home, staff that are your friends as well as go the extra distance to make you feel apart of the family! They respect your privacy and go the distance to meet every unique need you have.

The Manager made calls on my behalf to find me a hotel during a time they had no space and kept  at it till I was satisfied.

You'll understand after checking in why this place is the best.

    No complaints at all.

I stayed in this hotel during the week for four months when I was traveling for business back in early 2007.  The hotel did all the little things right.  The staff was kind and energetic and tried hard to make sure I was comfortable.  The manager worked with our group to help set up the movie room for private "movie nights" every few weeks.  The hotel lent me a shovel when my car was buried after a snow storm (although the hotel's plow truck built a three foot wall of snow behind my car overnight, forcing me to shovel it out again the next day).  They even host game nights once a week (it alternated between bingo and poker), with drinks and prizes.

The hotel serves breakfast every day and dinner on weeknights, and the dinner includes wine and beer.  The food offering varies from day to day and for the most part the food was actually pretty good.  If you prefer to go to a restaurant, there are several just a short drive away on Wolf Road.

Each room comes equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, which is great for someone like me who doesn't like to eat a heavy meal at a restaurant (or the hotel buffet) every night.  Many of the rooms are equipped with modern flat panel TVs.  The beds are great.  The gym is small but adequate.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and is especially recommended if you'll be in the Albany area for an extended period.

Without a doubt the best hotel in the Albany area. The rooms are great, the service is excellent, and the location is central to Albany offices. It's about 10 minutes from downtown. They serve free full breakfast. And, they server dinner and offer free beer and wine. I have spent 50 nights here and have no complaints except that they shut off the beer tap a bit too early.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Hotel and especially room was clean. The lobby and open area were very nice. They had a nice snack of apple cider donuts and cider after check in. The breakfast was mostly good. Bacon was crispy! good selection of bagles, danish, home fries. With such a nice breakfast, please do something about the eggs, these pre done "omlettes" took away from the whole thing. Eggs aside this is a great hotels. We were very comfortable there.

Great location near restaurants with easy on/off I-87 Exit 4. I have stayed here on several occasions. It's a quiet well run lodging. Rooms are always clean and welcoming. The breakfast offers a lot of variety and the staff is always replenishing the buffet. When I'm in the neighborhood, I look forward to my stay.

Stay here! Period. This hotel was the best. Rooms were clean, quiet, updated, and tastefully decorated. Each has a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and a separate living area from the bedroom. Morning breakfast was good and they offered a nice variation (both hot & cold). Evening reception featured complementary beer, wine, and soda with a "light meal" as they call it, but I compared it more to a full course. When I was there they had steak, fried chicken, encrusted tilapia, and stir fry, all with accompanying sides and salad. Complementary coffee & soda are available 24-hours.  There is also a large outdoor patio area located directly in the middle of the hotel with attractive and plentiful patio furniture. Also on the patio is BBQ grill that they encourage you to use and entertain other guests that you may be staying with. The staff are excellent; super helpful and friendly.  They always offered up the 24-hour shuttle to drop me off and pick me up from the mall, pharmacy, dinner, and anywhere else I needed to go within the vicinity.  They even had a basketball shoot out on their court one evening in which guests where competing against each other and the Asst, GM to win Hilton Honors points & other prizes. They will also grocery shop for you at no additional fee and they offer free wireless in the rooms.  Done and done!

I always love Hilton brand hotels, and this was no exception!

First off, props to the chain: you actually get two rooms when you get a "suite" at this chain, however small the two rooms are. I have been in "suites" recently that were really just one room with an "ell" extension, and that's not a suite.

We had a "King Junior" for a few days, which had a kitchenette and small lounge area on one side and a huge bed on the other. We stuck the kids in the living area, but we had to get a cot shimmied in for our restless sleeper (the foldout sofa bed was very good, though). It was a tight fit but it was doable. The kitchenette was in good shape and was well-equipped for what it was, and the half-sized fridge was ample and functioning. The bathroom arrangement could stand a little improvement, since access was only through the bedroom and the open sink area made it impossible for one person to sleep while the other used the sink (at least with the lights on). The other room issue was the intake for the HVAC system, which was huge and quite noisy and made sleeping in the living quarters area a difficulty.

Normally I shave off some points when there are issues with quality-of-sleep but the general overall quality, including the friendliness of the staff, made up for this to a degree. So I'd recommend it for families with kids, at least for a night or two.

One other nit: what we really wanted were two small connecting rooms, but neither the on-line website, nor the reservations person (it was impossible to connect to an actual local person who could make reservations) could set us up with connecting rooms. What's the point of having connecting rooms available (ours had a connecting door, so I know they're there!) if you can't make reservations accordingly?

This hotel is so awesome. If you are nearby, this is the place to stay. The staff is friendly, the food is decent and the rooms are great. Their pool and hot tub was nice also. You cannot go wrong staying here. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance and the staff will give you a ride if you want one. I was really impressed with how nice the staff was and how good of an experience it was to stay here. We stayed here on our way to Canada, and then we stayed on our way back because it was so nice.

My business HQ is in the Capital area and the place they're located feels a bit sketchy to me. I've been told they're revamping the area but I'm not fond of potentially getting mugged or seeing a drug deal go down as my nightly entertainment. A colleague recommended I stay near the airport and just drive in.  With a few hotel reviews read through, I booked my trip to the Homewood.

It's a fairly new hotel that has a lot of amenities. It had all day coffee and teas with syrups. As part of the price, it includes buffet breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a bit beyond standard fare. With 4 warm items (egg, protein like bacon  or sausage, home fries, and another breakfast food), it also has a self serve pancake station, fresh fruits, pastries, oatmeal station, cereal station, and yogurt. I like the fact they offer soy milk as well.  Dinner service includes wine... This left my colleague enthralled. The food quality is not much better than Denny but its super convenient.  There is also a gym and pool. The gym isn't huge but it has everything you need and it's well maintained.

The rooms are fairly big and they're just fine for a business traveller. It includes free wifi and a kitchen table/desk to work on. The kitchenette is fully functional and super clean. To be honest, I find the entire place to be very clean. There's nothing that would make me feel uncomfortable.

The beds were pleasantly soft. And aside from one of my neighbour's very loud 'session' at 10 pm, the room was wonderfully quiet.  Thankfully for me, their stamina was less than a few minutes.

Overall, I would be happy to return here. You get good value with a spotless room and in a convenient spot to the airport.

I stayed here for a couple days, while some things were being done at my place. I had been staying at another hotel, that had no availability for the time I wanted and they recommended Homewood Suites.

My room was an executive suite, and it was fine. Not really something that said "executive" to me. More NYC studio apartment. Actually that's not entirely fair, there was a door separating the bedroom from the other room. However the kitchen table was almost right next to the sofa, and space can be tight. One at a time in the kitchen is ideal. Got a toddler who thinks he's an airplane? There's only one spot where he'll be able to fly. That's right in front of the sofa, maybe off to the side of the bedroom, if he's on autopilot.

The place was very clean, the kitchen had an oven, microwave, refrigerator, and a small table. There were also plenty of dishes and silverware. If you're traveling with children, take note that there are sharp knives and other things you wouldn't want kiddies to get ahold of in a drawer well within a child's reach. My little man, is 3 foot 3 and had no problems getting into it. The bedroom was nice, it could use a new TV and the gap between the bed and the headboard was a bit of a bother. My son kept running his little cars off the edge of it and I lost my phone a couple times as well. Some might say cars and phones don't belong in the bed, but Ollie and I, beg to differ! :)

Staff was eh, ok. Every time I went to the desk, someone was texting or there was a conversation going on that I really didn't want to hear or interrupt. You had a great time with so and so the other night? Awesome. Please talk about it some more, while I'm waiting for you to assist me. It's cool, I love waiting around. They also didn't put much effort into looking for a bracelet that went missing from my room, or seem concerned that it went missing. There was one employee who seemed like they actually worked, his name was Michael.

There is a restaurant on site, but it's only open for breakfast and dinner, and dinner is only served Monday through Thursday. Weird. They do have 24 hour coffee and tea, Starbucks and Tazo brand. There is no room service, but room service usually sucks so that's not much of a loss. They will stock your fridge and do grocery shopping, with I believe 4 days notice.

Funny little story, I asked for an ice bucket. A guy brought up a trash can filled with ice. Yep, a waste basket. He says "I cleaned it out real well". I don't care if it's brand spanking new, it's still a waste basket. FYI, I found an actual ice bucket in the little cupboard above the fridge. Oh and don't leave the windows open with the lights on! There are no screens and you will come back to a room filled with mosquitos :/

I guess I'd stay here again, if I had to. But I'm really hoping I won't need to.

On a drive up to The Great White North we found this hotel to stop and rest our weary head bones on the AAA app, and confirmed on the yelp app! Boo Yaa! The staff was fine looking and friendly. Their computers and phones were down but they handled the manual process just fine and ensured we got into a room ASAP. Even walked us right to our room! Our room/suite was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and came with a complimentary bottle of wine. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. The pool and hot tub were a relaxing end to a long cold and exhausting 5 hour drive. When checked in they provided a van service to local restaurant and shopping attractions. Many restaurants will deliver to your room. The next day the breakfast Buffett was very nice and satisfying. A wide selection of everything you would expect and even a speciality offering such as Eggs Benedict.  Since staying here I keep my eyes open for other locations.

I have stayed at many Homewood Suites across the country. This one is in the top 3. Beautiful facility. Clean. Great service. And possibly the best quality if food at their evening reception I have ever experienced.

Absolutely wonderful. We reserved a block of rooms here for our August 2013 wedding in the capital region.
The property is immaculate. The common areas, the rooms, the breakfast area -- it is all fastidiously well maintained. The sales office was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with before the wedding weekend. After our wedding, all of the guests raved about how they were treated like family and all of their wishes were accommodated. The location is very convenient to Albany Airport, there is a free shuttle to the airport, and a free shuttle down Wolf Road for guests. I would 100% reserve a block of rooms here again for any family functions, and would recommend this hotel without reservation to single travelers.

Just spent the wknd visiting family and also celebrating my daughters 11th birthday. This was our first visit at a Hilton and I was absolutely impressed From reservation to check out. Isa (abbreviated because I don't want to miss spell) originally help reschedule my reservation as I book it online for the wrong day. She was very helpful in accomadating such a large group (2 suites for 13ppl). We drove in early because of the weather forecast and arrived around 1030am. She was working the front desk when we arrived and was able to get us in one of our suites early. needless to say I was extremely grateful to get the family in and out the snow. The rest of the family came later in the evening and was greeted with the evening desk clerk (forgot her name) who was also very friendly. The kids enjoyed the pool area tremendously! It was very cleaned and stocked with plenty of towels and seats for the family to watch the children. The rooms are clean and stocked with every family essential you would need on a wknd family getaway. Beds are fresh, clean and cozy. I had no problems falling a sleep and had a great nights rest. Complimentary breakfast was great. Something for everyone and ppl at the ready to keep it stocked. The female keeping the food area clean and stocked was nice and pleasant. Helping families when needed whether it be helping a child pour a glass of oj or just working efficiently cleaning tables to accommodate the crowd. Will definitely be using this chain on future family trips.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Workout room is nice, with several benches, a rack of dumbbells going up to 50 lbs. Several treadmills & ellipticals. A nice cable tower machine. Everything seems well maintained and clean.
