    Brand new hotel, very nice rooms and super bathrooms.  Stayed on the 8th floor.  Floor to ceiling windows with great views of the city.  Very friendly staff.  Hopefully it will stay this nice.  Highly recommend.

    The room was okay.  The hotel had just opened, there was still construction going on in the building.  It wasn't horrible, but I've had better experiences at other Kimpton hotels.

    This hotel is the epitome of New York Hip. It reminded me of the ARIA in Las Vegas and I appreciated one of the most comfortable beds I have ever been in. Comparing the Kimpton Hotels like INK48, this is their best hotel in the Kimpton hotel chains. I choose hotels by their bathrooms because for me that helps determine if the rooms are clean.  Huge marble counter space with a two headed shower. Nice! My friend and I were celebrating her birthday and Kolby, part of the staff had champagne and a handwritten note in our room awaiting us. Not only did they provide great service , we were placed on the top floor with a great view of the city. This hotel is awesome, not only did they deliver with their rooms but their staff Caroline, TJ and Randy whom left a great impression of New York for me definitely  solidify my desire to stay there whenever   I go to New York.

    We stayed here on a  trip to the city last year and were VERY pleased with our stay.  It's a new Kimpton hotel and though I've never stayed at any others I had heard rave reviews.  The hotel is gorgeous and beautifully laid out.  The front DOES seem a little cramped, but still beautifully designed.  We were upgraded to a beautiful room on the 20th floor with AMAZING views.  Our room was small and simple, yet elegant.  In general, the hotel seemed to do well creating a calm, peaceful atmosphere.  The 5th floor terrace was gorgeous.  I would've spent more time there if we hadn't been so busy.  It's conveniently located near Harold Square.  There were several more casual restaurants nearby, but you may need help from the front desk to find more upscale dining accommodations.  The staff were helpful with that pointing us toward a restaurant when we arrived fairly late in the evening on our first night in the city.  At other times they always greeted us with friendly and quick service and seemed to remember us.  Overall, a lovely experience.

    I am a retail buyer who visits New York City at least four times a year.  Last year I discovered the Eventi Hotel and have since stayed there three times.  I cannot say enough about the overall experience.  The rooms are large and clean, the location is great, and best of all the service is impeccable.  I would recommend this hotel to anyone, be it business traveler or vacationer.

    Found out about this place on SniqueAway. What a fantastic place! Perfect location, super clean, friendly staff from doormen to front desk, very nice amenities, and you can't beat the nightly wine hour! Would definitely stay here again.

    I stayed here for New Years Eve.  It was a very nice hotel.  The room was nice and well-priced.  I did not eat in the hotel restaurant, but it looked good and trendy.  The staff was very nice and helpful.

    What's not to like about this place?  A friend alerted me to its grand opening and great deals.  I booked 3 nights in a standard king room at a discounted rate and was delighted to receive an upgrade to a cityview king room upon arrival.  The staff was especially helpful and friendly.  The room had a comfy bed, a very large bathroom, and an awesome view.  Some other highlights were the do not disturb light, the TV with the underwater scene in the elevator and the 5th floor outdoor terrace.  The only faults were that the restaurant wasn't opened yet and our keycards didn't work right away.

    Our stay here last month was great and location of hotel was good! Close to subway stations and walking distance to Herald Sq. Our standard room and was large and the beds were super comfy! Will stay here again!

    Really nice hotel with exceptional rooms at this price point--but in a remarkably inconvenient location if you're on a busy business schedule and prefer taking subways like I do.  I travel to NYC from Boston every week on business and found myself spending an extra 30-40 minutes a day in a cab (and an extra $60 on cab fare) to get to meetings that I would typically get to in 15 minutes on the 4-5-6 or N-R-Q, neither of which are  convenient to this hotel.  If you do 4 meetings a day and want to rush back to your room and drop your bag before a business dinner, Eventi is logistically not a good choice unless your NYC universe revolves around this odd part of the city.

    My friend was staying at this hotel for the last 2 weeks.  Very swanky and nice.  We enjoyed the 5-6pm wine happy hour in the lobby and even took our glasses to the 5th floor terrace on the nicer days.  The terrace is spacious with lots of seating including comfy couches and rocking chairs.  There is no restaurant or bar but it looks like they are working on it.  Staff is friendly and helpful.  Rooms are big for NYC standards and my friend said the bed was very comfy.  3rd floor lounge looks like a nice spot to host an event.  We got a kick out of the relaxing music in the elevators and the television screen showing various water scenes (waves washing ashore, giant turtles swimming underwater, etc.).

    Make sure you get a glass of their chilled water + fruit in the lobby, it is a ridiculously delicious ambrosia!

    A beautiful hotel. Neighborhood is flatiron commercial, so you'll be walking or cabbing to other areas unless you're doing business here, but the rate trade-off is more than worth it.  Try Hotels.com . They get much better prices than Kimpton's rack rates, usually.

    I think i've found my new favorite hotel in NYC. I was in for 1 night coming in on a train from Penn station and leaving the next day from Penn again. This hotel is SO close to Penn. I love Kimpton hotels in general. I'm from the west coast, and have stayed at many different locations. This hotel seems on par with all of the other locations. Super friendly staff, very accomodating with any requests. Had good recommendations for things for me to do(i was by myself). LOVED the hester nights(sp?) that is located behind the hotel on thursdays in the summer. Awesome food trucks, super fun scene. Great place to have dinner, especially alone. Lets not forget about the free wine hour(with awesome cheese!). If the price is right again, i for sure will be staying at the EVENTI. I loved it!!!

    Eventi is a great place to stay in midtown.  It's in walking distance to Penn station which is great (ever try to get a cab from NYP at 4:30 in the rain??).  Everyone is very friendly and happy to help.  I love love love Kimpton and have made many a fan.  Join their loyalty membership.  It's awesome.  After 15 stays you get into their elite program and get bumped up to a nice suite with a huge marble bathroom.  Not a ton to eat in the immediate area but if you are willing to walk a mile or so there is a ton!  The new little market place next store is quick and convenient.  Their restaurant is quite good as well.  Kimpton - you never fail me!

    stayed on the top floor room 2308. Had a toddler, crib was perfect, views gorgeous, can't go on enough. and seriously with any NYC hotel, I'm not expecting much. but you get TX style space. Service was phenomenal and I'm picky!

    First, the positives of this hotel.  It's in a great location in Chelsea, within walking distance from Madison Square Garden and The Empire State Building.  The hotel is only about nine months old.  Complimentary coffee every morning between 7-10AM and cocktail hour with complimentary wine daily between 5-6PM.

    Why only 3 stars you ask? I thought this must be my lucky day when I was upgraded to a city view room upon check-in (the bellman tells me I have the best room on the floor).  When I entered the room, I literally gasped when I pulled open the drapes to reveal a breathtaking view of Manhattan.  Waking up to the Empire State building every morning isn't too bad.  Then I hear a dripping noise to my right and realized water was leaking from the ceiling onto the carpet right in front of my window with the gorgeous view.  I immediately dialed guest services and after sending two engineers that took over 30 minutes, they concluded that the dripping should stop very soon since the rain had stopped. I was told that I could stay in the room.  I said ok and decided to unpack.  As I walked over to the the closet, which is in complete opposite sides of the room from the window, I realized that the carpet was soaking wet due to another leakage. This room was clearly not fit to be sold.  I once again dialed guest services to notify them of the situation.  She was not very friendly and sounded annoyed.  To make matters worse, I was relocated to another room on the same floor that was half the size of the original room.   The room was dusty as if it hadn't been sold for months.  I was disappointed.

    Being an In Touch (Kimpton Guest Rewards & Loyalty program) member, I expected a certain level of customer service and I did not feel like I got it with this Kimpton visit.

    Had a great stay.  It is simple for me--clean and spacious room for NYC, friendly, knowledgeable staff.  We didn't have occasion to eat in the restaurant, partake in their happy hour in the lobby or use the spa but enjoyed everything else about the place.  Our room also had a great view.  We would definitely stay with them again or give one of their sister hotels a try.

    Stayed at Eventi this past weekend while in NYC and I was very impressed. We came into Penn Station from Boston and the hotel was just a quick walk down 38th St. We weren't able to check in because we were about an hour early, but we walked next door to FoodParc and got lunch. Upon check-in, the service was great. I had purchased a BloomSpot deal for two nights, which normally means you get a low level room but they upgraded us to the 18th floor. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were up to our room very quickly. The room was a little small (King studio) but I didn't find it to be stuffy at all. There was more than enough room for two of us with dresser drawers and a large closet for our belongings. I loved that they provided bathrobes (although they could have been a little softer) and enjoyed lounging around in them the next morning. The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and comforter. Unfortunately we could not get the heat to work correctly so even though it was set to 80 degrees, the air coming out was freezing. We ended up just turning it off and it was relatively comfortable. We had a nice view of the street and the empire state building, but sound control seemed to be an issue. We could hear people walking around in the room above us, the sirens that went by multiple times per day were deafening, and the bathroom amplified any sounds made in it (when someone took a shower it sounded like torrential downpours!)

    Overall, I would say the stay was definitely worth it. Sleek and modern hotel with amazing staff and excellent location. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

    Great hotel.  Conveniently located.  The suites are great.  get on a high floor.  Views are amazing.  Beds are super comfy, and sheets are top notch.  The bathrooms are the best part.  huge soaking tub, perfect fix for after a long day running around.  I didn't eat here, nor would i ever.  Too many other options.  Love the free tea in the lobby in the morning and the wine in the afternoon.  I highly recommend this place.

    great location, good value, funky vibe.

    i had a series of meetings in nyc and decided to stay at the eventi, which is a relatively new hotel (kimpton).  i wasn't disappointed.

    all the perks of the kimpton hotels were there -- 5 pm wine hour, free wifi, etc.  the room was a little on the small side, but that stands to reason given the fact that it's smack in the middle of manhattan.

    the closet was TINY.  i had a couple of suits, my overcoat, and a couple of shirts and there was barely enough room to hang it all.  but again, this is manhanttan, so it goes with the territory.

    they upgraded me to a room with a view and i wasn't disappointed -- EMPIRE STATE BUILDING right outside my building.  hellooooooooo, gawjuss.

    so yeah, it's a standard kimpton hotel with all the fun stuff.  four stars.

    We got a great deal on our stay from GiltGroupe.  Upon arrival, we were greeted by practically everyone.  The reception guy suggested a room facing 6th ave and said that we'd love it.  And we did!  It was on the 18th floor and out our large floor to ceiling window was a fantastic view of not only the NYLife gold pyramid, but the Empire State building.  Fantastic!

    The room was modern and sexy, kitted out in greys, walnut browns, and burnt orange.  The bath was completely clad in Carrara marble with Etro products and rain shower.

    A definite plus is the 5-6p free wine/sangria service on the Veranda.  That gets your night started right!

    I would definitely stay here again, though at the regular price, it might be a tad out of my price range.

    Visited this hotel in February, and stayed on an upper floor.  It was cold as hell.  The windows didn't seat well, and the wind whistled all night long.  Very disturbing.  The staff was ok.  Nothing magical.  Strange charges showed up on our bill that we had to straighten out.  A surreal experience overall.

    GREAT location, 2 blocks away from Empire state. Small but functional gym. A wonderfully new, bright and chic hotel. The room was on the 23rd floor with an awesome view and set out spaciously with a beautiful bathroom. Receptionists are very nice and the 5pm wine a nice touch on the large open terrace. Had a little problem with housekeeping missing our room once but that was about it. Would totally advise staying there for a trip.

    This is a very handsome, yet affordable hotel. The rooms quite honestly are nothing short of sexy- there is no central lighting, there are essentially spotlights on the bed and the shower has no door.

    The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. The only thing keeping this joint from getting 5-stars is the lack of coordination with parking. I was in a hurry to leave the hotel and the valet brought 3 different cars around thinking they were mine (which takes about 20min each) before he brought my actual car.

    So far so good.  This hotel just opened yesterday.  Our room is on the 18th floor and very spacious.  Their restaurant and bar is not open yet but scheduled to open this fall.

    We stayed here a single night over the weekend. The entire staff was extremely friendly and professional during our stay.

    The hotel appears very new. It has a very warm, luxurious and contemporary look & feel. Our room was beautiful and we had great night sleep after a night on the town.

    Be sure to try and make the 5-6pm wine tasting on the 5th floor veranda.

    Could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Eventi this week. Many thanks to the super friendly staff who made it happen...especially during the free wine/sangria happy hour from 5-6pm.

    We stayed in a corner room on the 10th floor with views of the Empire State building, among other things.  This room had possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in in years.  The bathroom was equally luxe, decked out in marble and chrome.

    While the immediate area might be a little dead, the location makes for a perfect jumping off point to just about anywhere in lower Manhattan, Midtown, or even Brooklyn.

    Beautiful, relaxed hotel. Super friendly service. Room decor looks modern and color palette is soothing. I absolutely loved my stay here (july 2011) and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My cousin and I arrived a little earlier than expected on our trip and they were able to accommodate an early check-in. Would I ever come back. HECK YES! My favorite part of my stay: Using the hotel gym while having the stunning view of the inspiring skyline of NY. This place has definitely made me a fan of Kimpton Hotels.

    We stayed at the Eventi for the long Veteran's Day Weekend, which was also our birthday weekend. The entire experience was amazing. From check-in to check-out, we had a great personal concierge experience.

    The front desk is extremely knowledgable and helpful. Their recommendations for dinner and hotspots were perfect. We also caught a show at Madison Square Garden, which is literally, one street up, one street over. PERFECT PERFECT location.

    The hotel property is gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, the beds are dreamy and the bathrooms are large! The hotel is completely new, modern, state of the art - and excellent amenities on property. We tried everything we possibly could - the fitness center (modern and fantastic), the wine hour - best enjoyed on the outside veranda deck overlooking the city and burgers and fries at the FoodParc next door.

    We had dinner the first night at Bar Basque - and the service was top notch, food was great. The food choices on room service are extremely limited for late night - and this is probably the only negative I can say about the hotel - and its REALLY pushing it, by doing so.

    The hotel was probably the best part of our trip to New York, and being a frequent traveler over the past 30 years to Manhattan, this was a great "new" treat and a welcome surprise. The staff and team at Event truly put the HAPPY in our Happy Birthday weekend.

    Already a Kimpton fan, I'm excited to stay again soon.

    Like the Muse Hotel where I had just stayed, Eventi is in a great location in Midtown. Walking distance to many things. For me, to be walking distance to a lot of great eats and the Village Halloween Parade was pretty sweet. This is a really nice property, with better front desk service than the Muse. For a midtown hotel, the room was rather spacious. Huge, incredibly comfortable bed with near floor-to-ceiling windows; my room had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building, which was lit up in black and orange for Halloween. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to hotel accommodations, but I must say all the Kimpton Hotels across the country have always exceeded my expectations and suite my style. Eventi is no exception. I'm sure I'll be back.

    Traveling East is a bit of a killer, with the jet lag and all.   But I came prepared with a good attitude, some melatonin and a reservation at Eventi.   Upon arrival, I had a really nice chat with the gal at reception who had recently moved out from SF and she gave me all the details about my upgrade (YAAAYYY!!!) and where things were in and near the hotel.   I could barely focus.  

    Throughout the stay, the staff was super friendly, the room was really nice, and something about how my room was cleaned seemed exceptional, things were replaced as needed, but my towels that I hung up were left to use again - I hate having everything replaced every day.    The bed was comfortable and there wasn't noise in the hallway that I heard.  

    The one thing that did kind of get to me was that I like a long hot shower in the morning and the water seemed just tepid at times.  There was also some "pipe" noise in the room in the morning.

    They were wonderful to the community during Sandy.  Allowed people to charge their devices in their lobby, provided water, power strips, and biscuits for the doggies.  Lovely people, I will urge my friends and family to stay there when they visit.  Thank you!

    I am an unabashed fan of the Kimpton chain of hotels (they offer great interesting properties at decent prices) - and the Eventi is their newest hotel.  I stayed here a few weeks after it opened - and experienced the probably normal hiccups of a new hotel, that included:

    Had to move rooms (a big hassle) due to a plumbing leak.

    Various electrical outlets didn't work.

    The restaurant and bar is not open yet (though they do have room service and a temporary cafe).

    The mini-bar was not plugged in, and a phone did not work.

    Every day I had to get new keys for the room, as the key system malfunctions and the keys don't hold the code.

    However, management is top-notch, and they quickly addressed every problem.  The Kimpton staff is very well trained, and this group was no exception.  They are as good as a staff you would encounter at a Four Seasons or Ritz.

    So here are the pros and cons of the hotel:

    The Good -
    It is new, the rooms are very nice, with flat screens, great bathrooms, comfy beds, iPod charging radios, a great gym, good spa (the masseuses could use some training), wonderful outside decks, and they even have a screening room.   Good security. As mentioned, great staff (everyone is really friendly), and they have the Kimpton free nightly wine service and morning coffee.  Location is good if you want to go downtown and uptown - but the immediate neighborhood itself is still a bit mediocre.

    The Bad -
    A curiously small and unispired lobby for such a new and large hotel.  It is expensively done - lots of marble and nice light fixtures - but narrow and feels cramped when there are just a few people there - especially when the do the wine and coffee service.  The rest of the hotel is so lovely I can't figure out why they made the lobby so small and unappealing. We booked a suite - and it was nice -but smaller than expected.  Elevators are slow.  And as covered above - the few blocks around the hotel are not particularly nice to walk - though they seem to be getting better.

    Overall this is a very nice hotel with a great staff, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.  However, for some reason it lacks the personality of many of the other Kimpton properties (perhaps as it is open longer it will get better), so I will probably move back to their midtown property, The Muse, unless I need to be in the Chelsea area.

    I was here for 1 night only on a business trip, and as a loyal Kimpton customer, will definitely return.

    The hotel is what you would want and expect from Kimpton: clean, SUPER-friendly customer service, comfy beds, hip, animal-friendly (my dog is too big to travel with, but I love seeing other pups around), well-appointed, great views, good location ... in general, just great. Bonus for the open space behind the hotel hosting Olympic viewing parties. I wish I had more time to spend here!

    Except: please, for the love of all that's good in this world, PLEASE put stoppers in your sliding bathroom doors -- I smashed my finger twice in my one-night stay there. I think I unconsciously expected the door to stop before that could happen, but no - the silver vertical handlebar will go straight to the doorframe until you (or your poor fingers) stop it.

    Also, while I get the asthetic, I don't love the "open shower" look in general. I get cold when the warm steam isn't enclosed with a shower door or curtain, and also practically speaking, I would imagine this makes it difficult to share a bathroom (one person wants to do their makeup, for example, while the other is in the shower, wouldn't happen in this bathroom b/c there's no privacy). This doesn't bother me personally since I'm usually a solo traveler, but I could see how this could be a problem for others.

    These are relatively minor quibbles (although my still-hurting fingers would disagree). I will definitely be staying here again - hopefully for longer.

    Eventi - Chelsea - Grand Opening

    I checked in the evening of the Grand Opening at the Eventi Hotel in Chelsea on May 14th. The staff could not be more inviting. They were very welcoming as we arrived. The Staff very excited that my doggie was the first to check into the hotel. The Lobby area has a nice small sitting area where they have the wine hour. Unfortunately the roof deck and restaurant was not open yet. I knew about this and figured it was ok, because NYC had so many dining options to offer.

    Check in was a zip and we were up to our "City View" room in NO time! And my jaw dropped when I saw the floor to ceiling windows with an awesome view of the city. The Empire state building was so close I almost felt like I could reach out and touch it.

    The room was an decent size maybe it felt larger because of the huge windows. You can see pictures I posted on my review.

    I have no complaints on this property. They really did a nice job with the building. The location central midtown so very easy to get everywhere in the city.

    When going to Kimpton Hotels remember to join Kimpton in Touch. We got a 15.00 raid the mini bar and get free wifi.

    The only reason I gave this review a 4 STAR - Very Good - is because the full services of the hotel are not all up and running....as soon as they are....I would give it a higher rating.

    Stayed here several times. Like the rooms, modern and close to Koreatown and flat iron neighborhood...and best of all, Stumptown coffee, the best coffee in Manhattan. My only complaint is the 2nd fl lounge: ugly decor, 1980s red n black room that doesn't know what it wants to be and, worse, the waitresses and waiters are in la la land. No one was taking our orders!

    This place exceeded all expectations for my NY visit. I really can't think of any complaints other than the key cards de-magnetize too easily next to cell phones and I got locked out twice. Staff were friendly and helpful; no attitude. I received a complimentary upgrade to an 18th floor room and a $15 mini bar credit for being a Kimpton rewards program member, which both put me in a good mood upon arrival. The room was very spacious and comfortable, large bathroom, rain shower, good tv and excellent sheets and towels. Great A/C. The outdoor space has a massive viewing screen where they show sports events and films--a huge party for the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics took place while I was there, and they have a bar and small food court adjacent with some quality eats.  I will be back--I didn't want to leave!

    The hotel is beautiful - modern, elegant, warm and loungy.  Great views of the empire state building.  And the staff is friendly and courteous.  I would have given this place 5 stars for my stay earlier this week.  But on my second day the lock on my room became defective.  They tried everything in the book to fix it.   Unforutnately the rooms were sold out so I coudln't move.  Each time I returned to the hotel after leaving (even just to grab a bite) I had to explain the situation to the front desk and have a security escort bring me to my room and use a staff key to let me in.  A little annoying.  But it wasn't their fault.  Just a shoddy lock I guess.  

    Other than that, the hotel is great.   Walking distance to times square and easy to get around town.

    Fabulous! I agree with all of the other high praises my fellow yelpers have said, but I'd like to add one nice thing that happened. My friend and I missed the daily wine reception in the lobby by maybe 10 minutes. We went up to desk and said that we werent informed about it when we checked in, and I guess we looked like two sad puppies because the bellman asked for our room number and if we like red or white. 20 minutes later there was a knock at our door with an unopened bottle of white, two glasses, and a small fruit plate. Now thats service my friends!

    I was really hoping to be able to give this hotel a 4 or 5 star review... However after our stay, I have to say it's just A-OK. It is a really nice looking hotel, and the rooms are pretty swank. The decor is really modern and luxurious. All of it was pretty nice, except that the beds shed feathers like CRAZY and they'll get all over the place... I suppose luxury does have its cost. We never ordered room service (outrageously expensive) but they do offer a lot of organic options, which is nice.

    My main problem with this hotel is that they put us into a really awesome room, then kicked us out a bit later after realizing they'd made a mistake (we were on a "non-dog-friendly" floor, apparently, and we did have our dogs with us). The unfortunate thing was that the room we had was SO much nicer than the one we ended up with. The view was way better, and the room seemed larger & more nicely furnished somehow. I don't know, maybe I was just completely bitter that they made such a big mistake and didn't seem to care ONE BIT. Luckily, since this happened, I did get an email from the manager of the hotel apologizing (after I filled out a survey and mentioned our experience), but it doesn't change how we felt at the time.

    Overall, it was a decent hotel. The location is pretty central, though not at all dog friendly (we found ONE small tree with bark chips under it that our doggies could use within a decent radius). I like that the hotel takes steps to be environmentally friendly, and that the people who work there seem, for the most part, nice.

    I just don't know. I'd probably recommend this, as it's a cheaper option than most hotels that are dog friendly in NYC. However, just be sure they don't screw you on the room. Otherwise, our visit would have been 4 stars.

    After a hellish flying experience, I was ready to check in and relax. Upon entering, you're hit with a very sophisticated, hip vibe. It's not as extreme as a W hotel, but I still felt out of place wearing my travel clothes. Despite that, the front desk was super nice and welcoming.

    The hotel doesn't take up much of the block but is tall, which offers guests awesome views of the city and/or the Empire State Building which is only a couple blocks away.

    First thing, the rooms have lighted exterior room numbers to indicate if you do not want to be disturbed - very smart addition. For the limited space, the room is comfortable and modern. I stayed in a room with two queen beds.

    The beds are super soft which I hate. They have lots of pillows so I used one for back support. The closet was on the small side with sliding doors and a shelf/safe that eliminated most of your hanging space.

    There are small amenities that make this a nicer room. I like that each bed has a snake light for late night readers. The night stands and desk have outlets built in to the surface so you don't have to be on your hands and knees trying to find wall outlets.

    The bathroom is spacious and takes up about a third of the room. The shower is to die for with an adjustable handheld shower head and overhead rain shower head.

    Room service has a limited menu at night and the prices are pretty steep.  Rooms don't come with ice buckets so you have to call for one. I found that out when I ventured downstairs to where the ice machine is located. There was a room with an ice machine and nothing else.

    A couple of random tips: Though the desk light is built into the shelf and is like a piece of art itself, it heats the shelf so be careful what you store up there. The verandas are a nice spot to enjoy your free morning coffee; though only one was open at any time during our stay. Free WiFi comes with the free Kimpton In Touch membership.

    If you have the money or the points, this is a very nice hotel.

    We love the Kimpton hotels!  Stayed at the Eventi over Labor Day weekend and it was great- comfortable, hip, modern and conveniently located.

    The room was nice and pretty big as far as NYC goes. There is a veranda on the 5th floor which was a lovely place to sit and see the views of the city. Great for pictures too.

    There were many subway stops nearby so you can get anywhere from here. We seemed to hit every neighborhood either by foot or subway...and a few taxi rides thrown in.

    We will definitely stay here on our next trip.

    I stayed here for a business trip with 5 co-workers. Across our five rooms, three had problems. Two of the men with me had to check in late as their flight was landing late. They called the hotel before the took off to let them know that they would definitely be checking in, and to hold the room, to which the Eventi concierge confirmed they would. When they came in to check in their rooms had been given away. The concierge kindly gave them a bottle of wine and put them up in a sister hotel-but at this price point, the fact that they wouldn't hold the room was a litte... Holiday Inn of them.

    The AC broke in my room and was stuck on-I had to move to another room. Not a big deal at all, the hotel was very accomidating, but again-it was irritating and inconvenient.

    Overall a beautiful hotel with good service-we may just have had an off experience. Will stay somewhere else next time I need to travel to NYC for work, but not a bad hotel.

    I dont have one single complaint about this hotel.  This location is prime, the staff is so friendly and helpful, the room was great, air conditioning worked great, price was reasonable for NY standards and everything was very nice and new. The hotel decor is very modern and hip.   They also have a free happy hour from 5-6 every evening which was just icing on the cake.
    Oh and you get free wi fi.
    If/when I return to NY I will definitely be staying there again.

    Our favorite hotel in NYC. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the wine happy hour is a real plus. Sure, the rooms can be small, but that's too be expected in an NYC hotel. And the great room, with a stand-up shower, flat screen TVs and views of the Empire State Building make it a great place to be.

    A great location also if you are taking the train or the bus into and out of town. And you can usually find deals if you are a Kimpton In Touch member.

    Attending a business conference in NYC, I had the occasion to be a guest for three days at the Eventi. After doing my research and due diligence I chose the Event based on it being a newer property, its mid-town location, and mostly on reviews posted on Yelp, TripAdvisor and several bed bug rating web sites. With a strong background in the hospitality business, I am happy to report that the Eventi will receive a mostly positive review from me. Service and attention in all areas was very good. Room and hotel cleanliness: ditto. Front of the house staff attentiveness: very good as well.

    The Eventi has a hip, contemporary "W" kind of vibe going on--and they deliver it quite nicely.

    The weakest part of my experience was room service and the room service food. On that account they failed miserably. After checking in at the hotel at approximately 12:30 am I called room service to place my room service order for later than morning. I was informed by the person on the other end of the phone that I should fill out the order form on my pillow and hang it on the door (I'm a trusting person, but I'm uneasy when a hotel's system requires me to post my breakfast order on my door, with the hope that someone doesn't walk down the hallway, gets a wild hair, and rips it off the door handle, and poof, there goes my carefully planned schedule and breakfast plans for the morning -- this awkward system is even more disturbing since an upscale hotel like the Eventi employs it).  On the breakfast menu form I checked the 7:15 to 7:30 am delivery window. At 7:45, when my breakfast had still not arrived I called Guest Services to inquire about my breakfast. I was told by an indifferent person that the kitchen was backed up and my food was on its way to my room. My breakfast, if you can call it that, did indeed arrive moments later, but it was almost warm, plain and generally lifeless. Certainly not the quality I expected from a $600 per night hotel.

    Overall, I had a good experience at the Eventi. I would recommend it to other business travelers like me, and would definitely stay there again. Unfortunately, I will spend my hard earned money on food somewhere else.

    Extreme comfort from the deliciously soft and luxurious bedding to the large marble bathroom - we couldn't have been happier! The staff was not only helpful, happy and without attitudes which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is beautiful, classic and modern at the same time. We were only there for one night and were out most of the time so we weren't able to take advantage of the wine and cheese reception which were were hoping to go to but we had tickets to the Met so we needed to go out for a early supper. All in all we were very happy with our hotel choice and will absolutely return again.

    The only negative was that you had to pay for wifi which was $13!!

    Just spent an extended weekend there Thursday-Sunday, Nice clean modern room, every aspect of the room was great. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, a nice sized desk for work and plenty of outlets to cover 2 phones, 2 iPads, and a laptop I never thought about outlets that much in a room but they got you covered. My only gripe was the lack of a quiet hotel bar, Friday night I just wanted to relax after walking around all day so we decided to go get a quick drink before bed we took the elevator down to the restaurant that was advertised as having a bar, it had a bar and a LOUD nightclub attached to it! I'm all for a little club action from time to time but this was crazy! We ended up walking a few blocks over to a little pub. I would recommend this place to anyone and for sure I would stay again.

    Great hotel...super happy and I will stay there again.  Patrick our concierge was SOOOO helpful.  Picked out some great restaraunts for us.... my favorite was the Ilili which was so much fun.  Lebanese food with a flare and great drinks.  I cant wait to go back.

    Staff at the Eventi were all friendly.  Nice wine reception every day and the wine was actually good.  Rooms were beautiful, big enough for NYC..... everything you would need.  Great location.... subway a block away.  I will definitely go back to the Eventi for both work and pleasure.

    A lovely boutique-style hotel in the Chelsea area of NYC.  We stayed for 3 nights.  Customer service was very good throughout.  The room was lovely - ours faced the Empire State building.  The view was great.  Valet parking was free plus a discount with AAA - a great surprise!  Otherwise it would have been $50/day - a HUGE savings!

    The location is great - easy to find and then easy to get places from there by walking, cab or public transit.  The last time we were in NYC we stayed in SoHo and it was not nearly as easy to get to other areas of Manhattan - this place was completely different!  

    The veranda is absolutely lovely - on the 5th floor and accessible all the time - great for enjoying coffee and a good book in the morning (oh yeah the coffee is free in the AM from 6-9), or free wine every day from 5-6 PM, all compliments of Eventi!   We bought last minute Yankee tix and concierge took care of it all, and their follow up was good.  

    For the price, this is a great place.  The location, amenities, discounts, perks like the veranda and wine hour make this a great place to stay while in NYC for sure.

    Super sexy!  We requested a room on a high floor at check in and got a room on the 21st floor with a great view of the Empire State Building.  The Eventi looks/feels more like a high-end condo than a hotel, which is a definite plus.  The decor is modern and sophisticated and the staff is great.  The king room was a little tight, but hey, it's New York.  I'll definitely stay here again.

    After sitting in the Austin Airport for 9 hours, I finally sat foot on my plane headed to Newark Airport.  Needless to say, once I got there,  I was whooped.  

     What stood out to me first was how dark this place is.  The lobby is well lit, but from the elevator to your room is very dim.  Kind of comforting for an area of town where there are sirens and horns going off at all hours of the day.  Kind of unsettling in the fact that I left the hotel wearing one black and one blue sock.  

     The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on throughout this year's travels.  Down below you and down comforter on top of you.  The service at the desk is good and they are very accommodating, but God forbid you have a problem and have to call the front desk.  On multiple occasions we were promised a call back with none to be had.  I guess at least we got a free pot of coffee out of that.  I also did't like the fact that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room.  Forced me to make the walk or drop some serious loot every morning.  Without coffee, the lady friend doesn't have the bushiest of tails in the morning.  

     The restaurant/bar on the second floor is very nice and very hip.  Drinks are priced accordingly for the location and the food is pretty good, as well.  Great location.  You can get to Penn Station, MSG, or anywhere you need to be pretty quick.  Just based on location, amenities, staff friendliness, and overall vibe...I give The Eventi 4 stars.

    I'm fascinated by you Eventi! Your ultra swank style and comfort has captured my attention. You make me never want to leave you!

    I loved the décor & the extra amenities they provide to their guests. They have free coffee everyday between 7-9a.m and free wine between 5-6p.m., a 24hr gym & full spa services.

    My husband, son and I stayed in a one bedroom suite. The entrance had a long hallway with a decent size closet on one side, a large living room area with a hide-a-bed, chair, desk & television. The bedroom was also large with a king size super comfy bed, good size closet, television, large bathroom with a tub and shower (that's a plus in NY). They had several full length mirrors throughout the suite, which is great when you're getting ready for a night out on the town.

    The suite has dark hardwood floors decorated with beautiful carpets with cool designs, patterns & colors on them. The art pcs were drawings/sketches of people (women if I remember correctly). The views from our room were also amazing. I highly recommend if you go w/a family to stay in the one bedroom suite becomes unlike most suits, this one actually has a bedroom door that locks (wink, wink).

    The service was immaculate; every employee was on top of their A-game. They were accommodating, friendly, opened doors for you, greeted us everyday with smiles, and held friendly conversations. Everyday they asked us how we were enjoying our stay. It was definitely an overall great experience, we loved it!

    Great Lesser Known Hotel
    I recently was responsible for arranging for a small multi day meeting at the hotel, along with about 10 guest rooms.  Because my manager is a Corporate VIP I was a little nervous because we are used to dealing with the Ritz or JW but this was a great experience.  Even the standard sleeping rooms are luxurious with beautiful marble big bathrooms and our meeting space was beautiful.

    Sharee Hines and Alex Mora and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of.  I received a lot of great feedback from the guests regarding the food and the accomodations so don't hesitate to book.

    I stayed in the Eventi for five days during Hurricane Sandy. I knew of nothing about the hotel before I checked in, other than that it was part of the Kipton chain. All in all, I was presently surprised.

    The hotel decor is modern, spacious bathroom with great smelling ETRO products, flatscreen tv with lots of channels, the bed had fluffy comforters and big pillows, free wi-fi for members, nice gym with free weights and plenty of machines. Cocktails and food are priced at what you would expect for a hotel and also one in midtown.

    Location is good as it is near plenty of subways and Herald Square is literally around the corner.

    I am knocking off two stars due to slow room service and slow front desk reception. I often had to call a few times before I got anyone on the phone and wait for food was always over an hour. I also called and asked for a razor and toothbrush, and had to call twice to get it delivered.

    That being said, I would stay here again and the hotel was generally comfortable.

    We loved it.  The Eventi is new and modern, but it's been open for long enough that they've got everything worked out.  It was a classic Kimpton hotel and I'd make the five hour drive to New York any time they have a decent special rate, (okay, so I'm cheap).  The decor was modern without being stark or unfriendly and surprisingly for a Kimpton, animal prints were hard to find.

    They even dropped off a plate of fresh fruit and a thank you card because that's how they are.  And if the free coffee in the lobby is too inconvenient for you, they'll bring a Keurig to your room.

    I could whine about the controls for the shower being unmarked, or how the free Merlot in the lobby came out of a box instead of a bottle, and once I (gasp!) had to wait over 30 seconds for an elevator but that's because really, nothing was wrong.  NOTHING.  I can't say that the hotel is in my favorite part of town but how far away is a taxi or the subway?  And if you're a tourist, being near the Empire State Building is a plus.

    Stay here.  Arrive grumpy and they'll take care of you.  Arrive happy and it will intensify.

    My boyfriend and I just had a fantastic experience staying at the Eventi for 3 nights.

    To start, it was a great treat to be able to get off the train at Penn station and walk 5 minutes to the Eventi without the hassle or extra cost of a taxi! We walked in and were able to be quickly checked in without any problems -- in fact the front desk noticed we had requested a high floor and moved us up to the 21st floor from our initial 15th. When we walked into our room we were so impressed with the view from the floor to ceiling windows that I began to laugh uncontrollable from excitement. The room was impeccably clean, smelled fresh, looked swank, and was just as comfortable as can be. Usually when I enter a hotel room, it is so boring that the first thing I notice is what kind of TV there is-- but not at the Eventi: even though there was a beautiful flat screen LG TV across from the bed, it was the last thing I noticed after taking in the rest of the room!

    Every morning we enjoyed the coffee from the lobby, would go out into the city, and be back around 5 for wine and a nap in the most comfortable hotel bed ever, before heading back out for dinner and drinking.
    The very small and few downsides to the room was that there was no fan in the bathroom, and we also had a weird rattling noise start every time the air conditioning kicked on. It really wasn't a big deal though.

    My only real qualm was that the hotel says it is located in Chelsea.. maybe it could be the area technically, but when I think of Chelsea I don't usually think of cheap wholesale jewelry or luggage stores, which surround the Eventi. Still, it is very close to many subway stations, so who really cares?

    Kimpton does it AGAIN.  Clean, environmentally friendly.  Ashton and Douglas are the BOMB.  Eventi has made the ultimate use of its space, I have seen apartments in NYC smaller than my room.  Three of us shared a double, without infringing on each others space.  It was the best stay I have had in NYC.  Astounding....  Kimpton is one of the premier hotel chains.  If you must stay at a hotel make it a Kimpton.

    VERY nice hotel. This boutique Kimpton property is nicely located not far from MSG and the Empire State Building in midtown.

    Decor is hip. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Beds VERY comfortable. Staff are amazingly service-oriented - great experience.

    Room service is terrific.

    Wonderful new hotel.  Overall it was excellent, great room if a little small, comfortable bed, pillows, and linens, awesome bathroom, quiet room, and the hotel is in a good central location.  I had an Executive One Bedroom Suit, which was nothing more than a room with a partition down the middle.  Awesome windows and views, and you could ope the window a little which was great.  I didn't try and in the food so can't comment on that.  Love Kimoton hotels!

    So I literally joined Yelp for the sole purpose of raving about my experience at the Eventi. I booked a prepaid room with 2 queen beds using a Kimpton spring promo code for my best friend's bachelorette party.

    We arrived around 6pm and upon checking in, I was told we had been upgraded to the Presidential suite. I assumed it was a better view or something. She said that they randomly pick a room to upgrade when the hotel is sold out. Guess we were lucky, or just very late to arrive? Anyway, we told her that we were there for a bachelorette party and were excited for the upgrade.

    The bellhop guy told us that our room (502) was the nicest in the hotel. Again, kinda skeptical. We get to our room, it's certainly nice - the bathroom was gorgeous, there was a balcony and it had an office area. But we quickly realized it only had 1 bed...not gonna work for a bach party with 4 girls. We tell the bellhop this and he calls down to the front desk, and mentions that the adjoining (503) room has a pull out sofa. Now we're thinking - we paid for 2 BEDS not a bed and pull out. The front desk says that we can look at the adjoining room and have it if we want. He shows us the room........

    AMAZING. It clearly is just for entertaining/partying b/c it's got a full dining room with bar area. A very trendy "library" living room with an additional bar area and table. It also has an additional bathroom. (And the pullout sofa - which they makeup with a feather bed, down comforter, etc.) The room is attached to another balcony and a tented balcony with heaters, outside bars, chairs, lights, etc. Not to mention the details like fresh flowers and art strategically placed everywhere.

    We called down to the front desk a few times for random things and they were really pleasant to work with... the concierge, bellhop, etc were so nice. In fact, b/c we were dealing with the room situation, we missed the end of the free wine happy hour so the bellhop told us he'd send us up a bottle no charge. How sweet? (We declined b/c we had actually brought booze w us) When we were checking out we asked the front desk how much that room typically goes for and his response was "Thousands? It's typically only booked for celebrity stays." I'm really impressed that they let us have the room, considering we actually only paid $363 for the original room we had reserved.

    Nice Job Eventi, normally I'm a Starwood fan but Kimpton has officially converted me :)

    I'm a fan of the Kimpton group. Eventi is true to the Kimpton brand, hip decor, clean, good location, 5 pm wine hour, 7-9am coffee. I was most impressed by the room size, it was huge, and not just NYC huge!  This room was pretty spectacular, and the floor to ceiling window only added to the awesomeness. I've stayed in many rooms where you don't even have space to move around in. The bathroom was bigger than some NYC hotel rooms I've stayed, I'm dead serious.

    Eventi seemed to have a happening club-lounge. I I only went in for a late night peek as I was way under-dressed for the hip Kimpton New York late night party crowd, but no, I really just wanted to get back to my monster room!

    Unfortunately, they did have a small snafu with  my bill. However,  they resolved the problem with in the next few days and i got a personal call and email from the manager, which was a nice unexpected touch.

    Room was king suite but very small, basically just a bed and it wasn't king size! But very comfy bed n pillows!

    Needed to crash for one night in NYC.  I love the Kimpton chain- free bicycles, "raid the mini bar" priviledges for members, and low key cool vibe.  

    Dwayne the concierge checked us in and made sure we had all the important info- free movie night schedule for the big screen tv- and was nicer than any other nyc hotel staffer that I had ever met.

    My co-worker scored a free glass of wine at the HH.   We missed the morning coffee, but they had a refreshing fruity water.

    Lots of cabs - central location near subways.   Not the most charming location,  but it was only one night and far enough away from Times Square madness.

    I love this hotel. The rooms are large, stylish, quiet and extremely comfortable. The amenities are great, including exquisitely comfy beds, huge bathrooms, tall ceilings, enormous windows, electrical outlets on each side of the bed and fast Wi-Fi. The restaurant and bar are both wonderful and the location is hard to beat. This is the third time I've stayed at Eventi and will definitely come back.

    After a lot of great stays at Kimptons across the country we were really hoping the Eventi would really be their flagship in quality and service.  I'm glad to say the Eventi really lived up to everything we could hope for.

    I didn't pick the Eventi for it's location, but when I was looking on how to get to the hotel, I may as well have chosen it for it's great location.  The best part is it is literally 2 blocks from Penn Station, so no need to grab a cab or hop on the subway after Amtrak.  Also means it's easy to catch just about any train to the rest of the city.  During this visit to New York we had to do some shopping in the garment district and the Eventi was also just a quick walk over.

    Once we made it to the hotel, we were quickly greeted by Stephen at the front desk.  He was amazing.  He was excited to hear about how we were doing and really was glad to hear us use the magic code word for the summer. Each time we came and went during our stay, when he was at the desk, he greeted us and asked us how we were doing.  We really enjoyed having Stephen there to help us out and it really felt like he cared about making sure we had a great stay.  At checkout the gentleman at the front desk was also great.  He double checked to make sure we enjoyed our stay and made check out super quick.  At both check out and check in I was thanked for my loyalty as an IC member, which is always a nice, simple touch.  To go along with that simple touch, came an amazing set of welcome amenities.  We got a great bottle of wine, delicious snacks and to top it off, we even got a bottle of champagne.  This was really great after a long day of work and traveling to the hotel.

    I had booked a Premier One Bedroom Suite and really didn't expect an upgrade as the only upgrades were named specialty suites, but I don't think I could have wanted much more from our room.  We were given a suite on the top floor and while we didn't have the exciting Empire State Building view, it was still great to be so high up and look down on the other buildings.  The room itself was set up really well.  There was a long entrance way, which put us away from the hall and helped keep the bedroom quiet and that's always nice.  The room is full of darker wood and furniture.  It all worked very well together with the lighting and simple art pieces.  One thing my girlfriend really liked were all the nice reading lamps on the bed and chair.  And one thing I really liked is that it was a real suite.  None of that executive room with a sofa dividing the space and calling it a suite.  The living room was separated from the bedroom with a solid door, which just added to making the bedroom quiet.  All over the suite there were plenty of outlets.  I really like the outlets that Kimptons are adding next to the beds and the Eventi has this set up in a very classy fashion, built right into the bedside tables.

    The bathroom was spacious, especially considering we were in NYC.  The toilet had it's own little room, which is also always a nice design feature.  The bathroom is full of marble and was well lit, making getting ready in the morning and evening easy for both of us.  The only very minor complaint is that the shower was a bit small.  This is probably due to sharing some space with the bath, but it was all set up very nicely.  Overall it may not be the best bathroom we've ever had, but was easily one of the best in NYC.

    The entire hotel was very clean, which is not surprising for a Kimpton.  One really nice part about the cleaning at the Eventi was the housekeeper left us a little note thanking us for the tip and for staying at the Eventi.  

    Like usual for a weekend stay we enjoyed some in room breakfast one morning.  Ordering was easy and it arrived a little before they said it would.  The person who brought our breakfast was friendly and handled our small problem perfectly.  The eggs on my girlfriend's order did not come as ordered and he immediately went to fix it and came back up after just a few minutes.  

    Overall the Eventi really seemed to take all that Kimptons stand for and do it perfectly.  Every staff member seemed like they honestly wanted to help us and make our stay great.  It's obvious that Kimpton is really empowering their employees to have the freedom to provide their guests with a great experience.  There is no doubt in my mind that we'll be staying at the Eventi next time we're in NYC.

    Went for a weekend get-a-way and had the most amazing stay at this hotel.  Luxurious and beautiful inside, with comfortable beds, and a stunning view.  The bathroom was sooo nice- everything was very clean and perfectly put together.  The hotel staff was always accommodating to our every need and happy to help with a smile.  That type of customer service is rare now a days.  A wonderful comfortable stay here and we are so grateful.  From now on, we are only staying in Kimpton hotels when we travel and when we come back to NY we will only be staying at the Eventi!

    Great hotel.  Clean room & linens.  Lovely ambiance.  Hefty price tag but it is NYC and we were there at holiday time.  

    Friendly staff.  Breakfast buffet was not up to par (few selections, way overpriced for dried scrambled eggs & day old croissant), but the wait staff went above and beyond to make us happy.  Really nice folks.  Their hot chocolate was made with real milk - no instant swiss miss garbage!!  hooray!!  a hotel that cares about their hot chocolate!!  My child (& I) were absolutely delighted!  Will absolutely stay again.  PS:  No goldfish companions at this Kimpton - apparently they kept dying!)

    I rate my NYC hotel rooms on a variety of factors.  

    First off, bathroom size.  The Eventi has the best bathroom in NYC that I've seen in a while.  Big, nicely appointed, big shower, nice amenities (all natural).  Not so great on the water pressure but you can't have it all I guess.

    Next off, room size and TV.  Eventi is roomy for a New York room.  I reserved a room with two queens and there was room to walk around.  I hate when the bed is almost right next to the wall and you can barely move.  Big flat screen with a decent selection of networks to watch.

    There is also a good Spanish tapas restaurant attached with an interesting wine list and very nice and friendly bartenders. Additionally there is a place next door with good coffee and walk up breakfast.  

    All in all, this was a nice hotel with a great staff and rooms to feel comfortable in.  I would absolutely stay here again!

    Seriously nice property. Great rooms and staff, a pleasant surprise!  We arrived late from a work trip, the staff was ready to help us with late food recommendations. The rooms are hip and nice.  The restaurant was good, and I hear the spa is solid. There's a giant room on the bottom where you can have a drink and get some food from a few small bars/food stands, and watch a big screen with sports, hidden gem.  There's outlets to get work done - I sat there after a long day and knocked out some emails, just what I needed.  Definitely coming back.

    amaze, amaze, amaze! My (ex) boyfriend and I spent a night here because he was visiting me in the city and i LOVED it. The room was nice but the bathroom was to die! huge walk in shower, gorgeous flooring and an exquisite counter. It felt very "luxurious". we also had a corner room on 6th ave so we could see the empire state building. BY FAR the best hotel I have stayed at in the city. Now it didn't do sh*t for my relationship (notice i said EX) but hey! at least we were fighting in the lap of luxury!

    Our son treated us to an overnight stay in this wonderful establishment.  The Eventi is slick, chic, simply gorgeous.  OMG, the bathroom is fabulous and bed is soooo comfortable.  Stellar service provided by Juan and Benjamin.  We live in Brooklyn, so it was fun to enjoy ourselves in the city and then stay in the city, instead of heading to Brooklyn.  My husband and I are very pleased.

    Stayed here while on vacation with the wife for her work and really enjoyed the stay. The rooms are really nice, super clean, great views. The staff was also really friendly in a sincere manner.  The location is also great in midtown where even though there may not be any big attraction right nearby (other than empire state buiding I guess if that's your thing), everything else is either a short subway ride from the couple of stations nearby or via cab of course.  There are also a lot of small shops in the area as well as some ma and pa casual restaurants.

    The only real drawback we had with this hotel was that the restaurant/bar area was in a bit of transition.  I'm hoping due primarily to this and not their lack of ability, the bar service was super slow to order and receive drinks and the one night we did decide to stay in and eat the service was also really slow.  Not exactly what you'd hope for when you want a quick drink or bite from your hotel. Hopefully this will be resolved with their new restaurant that is supposed to open soon.

    After staying at this hotel, I realized we experienced something we hadn't in a long time. This hotel makes you feel very welcome, cared for and respected. We were treated like human beings. There are so many aspects of life, during this economic climate,  where a business is more apt to take your money, give you attitude or no empathy, and leave you feeling very cheated and broke. These days , we get more bills in the mail for terrible, shoddy services.  ( I am looking at you Time Warner, Bank of America, etc etc too many too list...) This is the first time in years we felt like we received some quality in our lives for reasonable fees. You will get so much more for your money staying at a Klimpton than any other competitor I promise you. My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed at every kind of hotel you can imagine and the staff at Eventi was at the same level of service and attentiveness as a 700$ a night hotel. Our room was lovely, the wine hour was lovely, every single staff member was kind, friendly and welcoming. We loved this hotel. They made us instantly loyal to Klimpton Hotels and we will suggest this hotel to all of our friends and family. Thank you very much for everything, I wish it could be this warm, welcoming and fairly priced in other aspects of life these days. People work way too hard right now, its very nice to know there is a place where they will be treated with respect, and their money and time will be respected as well.

    Went to the bar at Eventi for a drink, mid-day on a Sunday.  Place was absolutely empty.  We went to the bar, and on the way we passed some of those self-serve, by the glass machines.  We asked how those worked, and I guess the bartender misunderstood us, and sent us to the other end of the bar for what turned out to be a wine tasting (a single bottle of red and single bottle of white).  I'm not one to turn down a glass of free wine (What am I, a Rockefeller?), so we each grabbed a glass of red and sat down on a couch.

    The bar area overlooks a huge TV on the outside of the building next door, and there was a soccer match going on.  So we sat on the couch, drank the wine (not very good), half watched the soccer game on the TV outside, and proceeded to be bothered by a bunch flies buzzing around us.  After our free wine we left.

    Very odd experience, but certainly one to remember!

    Nice hotel!  I like the Kimpton properties and this one does not let you down.

    The location is good.  If you want to walk places, it is doable (we walked to the theater district several times).  There are many subway stops nearby too.

    The staff was friendly and are small enough that we saw the same faces throughout our stay and they remembered ours as well.  The decor is NY hip.  The rooms are comfortable and the bedding is very, very comfortable.

    They have complimentary coffee in the morning, but the first morning we tried it was out and we were too rushed to be able to stay and wait for more.  That was too bad.  But they are right next door to an interesting "food court" and we found that getting a coffee and breakfast-type meal (egg and bacon sandwich, oatmeal) was easy and inexpensive.

    We had drinks one night in the hotel bar.  It is very modern/hip.  In fact, maybe a little too much so.  The decor of the restaurant/bar didn't really do it for me (I felt like I was in a version of Disneyland's Space Mountain) but then we didn't spend much time there anyway.

    Humphrey's is over the top, but it pulls it off in a good way.

    Please note this review is only for the lounge in the Eventi hotel, not for the hotel itself. I've visited this place a couple times on my own and with friends and I always get the feeling of being in a sci-fi movie when I'm there.

    The lounge itself is an indoor space with a glass roof over the western side of the building. That part of the room looks out over the courtyard behind the hotel where a 40 foot high TV projection let's everyone upstairs and downstairs see the screen. The interior is a fairly open space with stark white surfaces and leather couches along the wall. It feels vaguely like an airport in the year 2025.

    The staff is typical for what you would expect in a midtown hotel lounge. Polite , professional and fast but not very friendly. The wine and cocktail menu is serviceable and the prices are acceptable for midtown Manhattan (meaning its expensive) and most of the other patrons are a mix of older people who can afford to stay in the hotel and younger people who stop in to drink after work or attend one of their private parties.

    Overall, Humphrey's is a good space for after work business drinks or a quick bite before you struggle with NJ Transit to get home.

    I stayed at the Eventi for one night last December for New Year's Eve.

    The lobby is quite small; however, the room was elegant with extremely comfortable beds, marble tiled large bathroom with full vanity, huge multi-head shower.

    I had champagne and organic chocolate delivered to the room with a handwritten note (Though it took a reminder to the front desk to do so since I am an elite member)  to welcome me in my room upon arrival, the staff was generally friendly and helpful.

    I also had the breakfast package which included complimentary continental breakfast at Bar Basque.

    As an Kimpton Inner Circle Elite Member, this hotel was not bad. Not the best yet not the worst Kimpton I have been to. Check out Hotel Palomar in DC if you want the best Kimpton I have ever been to thus far.

    This is New York City therefore the rooms' size will be 1/2 or more of the size that you will be used to see.

    Eventi is quite convenient to many tourist attractions therefore the location is great.

    Was a great way to begin 2011 :)

    - The sprinkler protector in the ceiling fell on me
    - There was a blood stain on the comforter (yuck!)
    - Not enough lighting in the room

    This is my first stay at Kimpton Hotels. I thought that the room was a bit dark and the gym doesn't compare to SPG hotels. In addition, having to deal with a comforter with blood stains (it happens) and a broken sprinkler cover wasn't the greatest experience.

    However, the manager did take care of me (brought me fruit and provided a $25 room certificate) along with a personalized letter (which meant more than the monetary value). I am impressed that they didn't just offer me points, but instead wrote a handwritten letter to me apologizing. Thus, I rate it 4 stars rather than 1-2.

    I'd give this place another shot. Sure it's pricey, but the location is amazing (near Korea town, center of the city).

    Surprisingly, the room was pleasantly bigger than what I expected for NYC. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We took advantage of the free coffee and tea in the mornings but missed out on the free wine. Next time...

    I'm a huge fan of Kimpton Hotels...I've stayed at a few in Boston, Baltimore and now NYC. If given the choice, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

    My girls and I decided to do a weekend in NYC just for the heck of it...and being a Kimpton In Touch member I was able to score an awesome deal--we got credits for Bar Basque or room service and a room for only $200 on a high floor, away from the elevators on a weekend. In New York, in Chelsea in a NICE hotel? Unheard of.

    The hotel is sleek and sexy outside...and even more so once you walk in. They have a cool little lounge area to the right, which is where they do their complimentary wine/sangria hours (LOVE). Checkin was standard awesome Kimpton service...and we even received TWO $15 mini bar credits, instead of the standard one. Score--we hit up the wine immediately.

    Our room itself was two queen beds. While the room is small (hello, it's a boutique hotel!), it was not overly so...more cozy. We didn't have the best view (overlooking the screen that belongs to Bar Basque), but it was definitely quiet--no city sounds. The windows opened, which was a nice change from most hotels. Beds are standard comfy as heck Kimpton beds--and my down pillows that I always request were in the room, with extras in the closet. Bathroom was standard Kimpton--updated, with great amenities,the "You Forgot it? We Got it?" list and their standard reminder that they are a "Green" Chain.

    We hit up the wine hour later in the day...and again, standard gracious Kimpton service. They let us hit up a few glasses of wine at a time and even ran over a little bit =-)

    The girls and I hit a few Meatpacking clubs for a bit and were starving when we got back...concierge sent us right to a delicious pizza place.

    I would stay again in a second--although I do want to check out Ink48 up in Hell's Kitchen, as well!

    I can sum up our stay at Eventi as: luxury without comfort. Or the illusion of luxury at any rate.  It's all so interior design-y, every surface sparkles, but when you scratch beneath the surface, there's not much there (unless you pay through the teeth for it.) That's the short version.

    The longer version:

    The rooms are probably not any bigger and definitely not any more soundproof than rooms in less fancy hotels in NYC. All the surfaces are slick, all the staff very polished and treat their guests very kindly. But there's precious little at Eventi in terms of things we actually want from a hotel when we travel. And too much of stuff that we don't want or need. For example: Bathrobes that were not comfy enough to actually wear, with poorly printed tiger-stripe print on the collar and cuffs, hang in the closet - the closet with the magic motion detector light that doesn't actually work. The desk in the room comes with two bottles of water next to the four glass tumblers provided. Want one of these bottles of water? $5 for the small and $7 for the large. The fridge is also full of extortion food - the tempting snacks and beverages to be sold at a similarly insane markup. Likewise, offers for room service are frequent. If you want to do laundry, also expect to pay a premium for that or shlep it down to the street, because there's laundry service at $10 a shirt, but no laundry room facilities for guests to use. And yet, as hard as they try to convince us they are super-high-end at Eventi, we heard our neighbor like he was sitting in the room with us.

    The elevators and the lobby have a constant stream of featureless techno music - enough to feel like the boom-chk-boom-chk Chelsea rooftop party's still going, but nothing so adventurous as to actually have musical content. But that's nothing compared to the video loop in the elevators - which features a breezy montage of well-to-do 1%er types getting out of taxis in high heels, overlooking a grand hotel conference room, lounging in their luggage-less hotel room with their tiny fu dog, toasting champagne glasses, walking into another hotel conference room. It's like a little homage to the (currently) winning side of the class war in video form.

    The explosion of exotic flowers that greet you when the elevator opens are, of course, fake. Just like all the other surfaces and pretensions you are paying premium hotel dollars for.

    They claim to be 'eco-friendly' because they use a little light for the 'do not disturb' sign instead of a paper tag - ignoring the rest of the massive waste of paper on their fluff marketing materials, and ignoring the fact that you're BURNING COAL CONSTANTLY TO SAVE CUTTING DOWN A TREE ONCE. It's not like you generate your own solar, guys, so who are you trying to kid?
    I also don't care for the too-cool-for-school plumbing fixtures. You know the ones I am talking about. Where you have to experiment with different turns and twists to try to get the desired result. Does that make it hot, cold, high pressure, low pressure, the top shower faucet or the one on the slinky tube that you can use magic wand style? I can't tell you. I spent a week in that room and I still can't tell you how to both A) consistently get hot water from the overhead showerhead (because the wand one is almost useless) and B) fully get it to turn off and stop dripping when done.

    The bed was comfy though, the wif-fi was serviceable, and the proximity to the several train lines at Herald Square made it easy to get away from the Midtown Madness.

    Admittedly, I'm the kind of guy who wants a clean room with a clean bed at an inexpensive rate because, after all, what am I going to do in a hotel room besides sleep?  Fortunately, I wasn't thinking that way when I made reservations, here, for a three-night stay to celebrate my SO's 60th birthday. The Eventi IS pricey and it proves that old saying "You get what you pay for." Flawless. Perfect. Comfortable. Cozy. Fantastic. Without any hesitation, I recommend the Eventi hotel. I cannot imagine how you could possibly be disappointed with the place unless you're someone like Bill Gates and used to occupying an entire floor in a hotel. The bed was unbelievably comfy, the radiant-heated marble bathroom and glass shower were fantastic, even the view of the Empire State Building was unbelievable. I could go on and on about the personal touches that we enjoyed but I'd just be echoing what others have posted.
    Stay here. You'll love it.

    Location : conveniently located on the avenue of the America. Which is not far from Macy's department store and a few blocks from timesquare.

    Design: red and dark. Americains must love dark lighting because everywhere I go, restaurants, hotels, museems, coffee shop. It is always very dark.

    Money money money : it is after all a 4 star hotel so the pricing is around $250 for a basic room. Count around $400-500 for a casual suite which will be around $500 square feet.

    Cleaness: not the cleanest place I have stayed but with a little tips for the cleaning lady and your room will be impeccable.

    Restaurant: the breakfast buffet is not exceptionnal at all. Cost around $24 for the whole buffet which includes 3 hot dishes and a few pastries, with juice and coffee or tea. Advice: you better go out and walk few block around, you will get more to eat for less price.

    Far enough away from the madness, but close enough to the more boutique restaurants and bars for dinner and drinks.  Quick walk over to Midtown, or Downtown, and can easily cut across the East or West Side.

    Excellent hotel.  My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights (left for a conference in NJ, then returned for 1 more night.)  From the moment we arrived, Kevin at the front desk made us feel like old friends.  He checked us in, gave us a dinner recommendation that was perfect and assisted us flawlessly throughout our stay.  The room was small, but cozy, nicely appointed and stylish.  I found the location to be perfect - a short trip in any direction to all of NYC's hot spots.  I have NO complaints - it was a great stay and I'd return again without hesitation.  Finally, I have to mention Stephen...he checked us in when we returned and gave us a nice upgrade to an Executive Suite!  What service and appreciation of our prior stay - thank you!  Hotel Eventi - my NYC hotel!

    You can never go wrong with a Kimpton Hotel and the Eventi is no exception. My recent stay there was just perfect. The staff and service were courtesy and helpful. I checked in at 7AM and my room was already available so I was thrilled to be able to pass out after taking a red eye flight.

    The room itself was modern and clean and the bathroom was huge by NYC standards. The shower had a rain shower head option. I'm not one to load up on hotel bath products but was excited to see Etro products. I even took the body lotion home!

    There's free coffee in the mornings down in the lobby, complimentary wine at happy hour and free wifi is always a plus!

    All in all, I enjoyed staying at the Eventi and will definitely book it again!

    One of my better stays in NYC. Was unsure of the location before booking, but it turned out to be a great location! I've been fortunate to say a lot of recent stays of mine have had comfy beds but Eventi's were seriously top-notch comfort. Two nights in a row of perfect sleep! This does not happen for me a lot during my travels. Rooms were cute, modern, spotless clean, and a decent size considering it's NY! Lobby was nice with complimentary waters/teas, and service was friendly and helpful. I would undoubtedly stay here again.

    FANTASTIC hotel. Likely my new favorite in NYC. We were able to get a rate of $229 per night (a lot lower than the $500 rack rate). I would highly recommend this hotel.

    - Great views from the 19th floor (where my room was)
    - Room was spacious according to NYC hotel room standards
    - VERY comfortable beds, plenty of pillows
    - Bathroom was spacious, great shower w/2 different shower heads
    - Flat screen mounted on wall to save space
    - Mini bar (although expensive)
    - Free wifi if you join their Kimpton rewards program (which is free)
    - Great staff
    - 24hr fitness room
    - Easy access to the subway
    - Great views of Empire State Bldg
    - I did not hear noise from other rooms

    - Can be expensive to stay, unless you find a good rate

    Helpful, polite staff.  We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite.  Amazing view of Empire State building.  

    Be aware that the streets immediately surrounding the hotel are a little bit random.  I don't know if I would go outside as a single female at night just in case there was some hassling.  Other areas I would not have the same concern.  

    The room itself had a lot of dark surfaces.  It's a very, very modern look.  Somewhat GQ Bachelor Pad-like.  I wouldn't really call it relaxing.  It depends on whether this is what you are looking for.

    We were only here for 48 hours, but packed a TON of stuff in.  This place is a great oasis in lower midtown.  The staff are ridiculously helpful, professional, and courteous.  Between the buzz-cut bellman, and the handlebar-mustached bellman (who always seemed excited and happy to talk to us about where we'd been, what our plans were, or just how we were doing), and the lovely design of this place, you really could end your hotel search here.  It's ridiculously clean here as well.

    The only negative, perhaps unsurprisingly about NYC hotel rooms is that they are not THAT large.  Laying out a room with a small child can be tough, but it's very easily do-able.  Parking was just a couple of doors over from the hotel, so that was easy too.  If you visit NYC, this is a good choice.  If you've coming as a couple, this is a GREAT choice.  It's definitely a boutique hotel, and very amenable to a couple looking for fun in the city.  It would be an easy call to stay here again.

    I stayed at the Eventi for one night on a business trip last week.  This room was definitely bigger and MUCH nicer than many of the NYC hotels I've stayed in!  The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was pretty spacious and had a nice shower, and there was free wifi!

    Room service was quick and the food was good (although not a ton of options).  I called for an extra desk chair so a colleague and I could work together, and they brought one right up!  

    I used the hotel fitness center at 5:45 AM, and it was larger than some big name hotel workout rooms.  The machines were new and well kept, and they had a bowl of apples out and lots of towels.  I love a clean fitness center!  
    Overall, I'd say this is one of the nicest hotel stays I've had in NYC.

    We stayed here for New Year's Eve and were thrilled with our choice.  As inner circle members, we were upgraded to a junior executive sweet at no extra charge.  The room was very spacious by NY standards and the higher level floor offered amazing views. Wine, cupcakes and other treats were waiting for us in the room with a wonderful thank-you note.  The location is great.  Good shopping, close to Times Square and fantastic restaurants.  If you stay here (or any Kimpton) make sure you sign-up for their In Touch program.  It is free and you will get $10 to Raid the mini bar and complimentary wifi.  Also, check the In Touch Facebook page to see if there is a "secret word".  Say it when checking in and you will get a treat. Finally, don't miss the happy hour from 5-6 pm daily.  Great for a quick snack and drink before getting ready to go out for the night.
    This hotel has a garage next door where you can self-park and save $10 per day on parking fees ($50/night if the hotel parks you $40/night if you park yourself)

    I've stayed at about 7 different hotels in New York and by far, the Eventi is a new favorite of mine! I love, loooooved the room despite the fact that we didn't get an Empire State view. We sure didn't pay for an Empire State view which is fine by me. Oh, also despite the fact that the room didn't have a shower curtain which I'll explain later.

    The decor of the room was beautiful. It's exactly how I want my room to be. Gray walls, floor the ceiling windows, and a nice comfy king sized bed. Small? Why yes, but aren't all hotel rooms in New York small for the most part? The only problem I had with this hotel is the bathroom. The fact that it didn't have a shower curtain kind of sucks since we were stuck using our towels to wiped the floors after showering in fear that someone would slip and fall. Read a few reviews from other guests that they too did not have a shower curtain so I guess it's standard? Oh well. Still a favorite hotel of mine!

    Note: they check hotel card keys every night which I've never experienced in New York so don't forget your keys (just kidding). I mean you really can't forget your keys for obvious reasons right? Haha

    Very nice boutique hotel. I am a huge fan of the Kimpton brand and Eventi did not disappoint. Clean, quiet and in a very convenient location if you are going to an event at MSG. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating (shout out to Gabriela for all of her help). I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay at this excellent hotel.

    I travel for work, and I usually look forward to checking out of a hotel bc that mean's I'm heading home!

    This place?  Not so much.  I loved everything about it and was super bummed I had to leave.  I got a great rate through expedia, and stayed in a king bedroom suite facing 6th ave.  

    The hotel staff was super friendly, the room was surprisingly quiet (despite being on top of all the action), the bed was so big and fluffy and luxurious, the shower was to die for, and most of all, the bar was amazing.

    I feel like Kimpton hotels never disappoint, but this one in particular was stellar!

    Just stayed at the Eventi for a week in the city.
    Gotta say it was a very pleasureable experience.  
    The beds were extremely comfortable.  
    The staff were amazing!  Always polite and willing to give suggestions on where to eat, shop etc.......
    Only reason I gave it four stars was that I thought the cleaining staff could have done a better job on a couple of the days.
    Other than that, a very pleasant stay.

    We read about this hotel in the NYT article about boutique hotels. We've stayed there 3 times now for 4+ nights and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
    I've stayed in other hotels which are big chains. The lobbies are like subway stations with 100's of people roaming around and you're dodging luggage just to get to the elevator! Here, you will encounter one or two others in the lobby and everything is clean and quiet.

    - Free wine tasting in the afternoon & fruit-water all day (our favorite after lots of walking around
    - about 4 blocks from the subway stop - really easy access to the rest of the city
    - I even like the little deli right out front. very convenient for coffee or a banana in the morning
    - I like their little gym too.

    I don't know why I'm rating it this high! Hopefully nobody will pay attention to it so there will always be a room waiting for me. But seriously, even if you have to $50 / night more, isn't it worth it to avoid the crowds of tourists?

    So...I was looking for a last minute hotel when I was in town back in May.  I was supposed to visit family in CT, but Amtrak was shut down, so I needed a hotel in a pinch.  I saw the Kimpton in Egencia and have always heard great things, so I made my reservation.

    location: Avenue of the Americas is a nice area, but the particular cross street where the hotel is located had a lot of construction, so the area around the hotel was 'meh'.  I was looking for a place close to Penn Station, so it was perfect!

    staff: 5 star customer service!  You all ROCKED IT!  Everyone was friendly and super helpful.  The manager at the restaurant even stayed open so I could get some late night noms.  I was having a rough day, so I appreciated it so much :).

    rooms: amazing room, no complaints whatsoever.  Very cool ambience and comfy bed.

    restaurant: great food and a cool ambience.  Tip: eat out on the solarium style balcony...it had an awesome view of the stars which you can rarely see in NYC!

    overall: if you are looking for great customer service, an amazing room, and good on site food, check out this gem from Kimpton.  They turned my crappy day into an amazing and restful night!

    This place seemed like a steal for around $200/night. Speaking of the price, when booking i had a price pulled up on the screen, but delayed booking for several hours, then when i finally confirmed, the price apparently went up and i had confirmed at a different price then my confirming screen had said. Fortunately, i emailed their reservations people (Zoey) and she took care of it because i happened to have a screen shot that i sent to my wife for final approval. A+ customer service before my first stay. Great service continued throughout our stay.  
    Modern, clean, large bathroom, huge door-less rain shower. Pretty good location, allowing pretty easy access in any direction we wanted to go. The room was a decent size overall, no more than you need, but everything you do need is there. i would probably prefer to have a non-stocked fridge that i could have used myself.
    The bed was almost too comfy. We slept two hours past our intended wake up time on one day, and an extra hour another. Be careful with the curtains drawn, you won't notice the beautiful, hot sunny day outside.

    Other awesome things about the hotel:
    -Join as a Kimpton member for a raid the mini-fridge which for us translated into a mini Makers Mark bottle and a can of Pringles
    -Super friendly front desk
    -3 pretty fast elevators making the trek up and down 23 floors easier than i imagined (only once did the elevator have to stop several times on the way down)
    -The verenda. Huge space to chill out off the 3rd floor and have a drink or just relax in the open air with the Empire State Building.
    -Wine hour...which we never did make it to, still sounds like a perk.

    We were totally satisfied with our stay here and Kimpton properties will be the first place i look for future stays.

    If it is possible to be in love with a hotel, this would be the one. I've stayed here a number of times over the years, and every time I come here, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, the rooms meticulously clean and well-taken care of.

    Location of this pet-friendly hotel is convenient, just a block and a half away from Penn Station.

    The Kimpton hotel chain offers a wonderful perk for their "In-Touch" loyalty program members (It is free) with a "Raid The Mini-Bar" feature. Most Kimptons you can consume $10 worth of mini-bar fare for free, but here the RTMB threshhold is $15.

    Rooms have plenty of outlets for your electronics, and the beds are SOOOOOO comfortable!! Shower has excellent water pressure. I always hope my company puts me up here when I have occasion to be in NYC. Bravo, Kimpton Eventi!!

    Yeah, Eventi Hotel has a lot going on. Being a boutique hotel, it isn't the choice for a frugal spender, but you get a lot out of it.

    The staff is top-notch, friendly and gracious. The rooms are quirky and interesting. And best of all, it isn't overly saturated by complaining tourists. There's something about this place that brings out the best in its guests. Everyone seemed genuinely happy... something you're not going to find anywhere else in NYC.

    Love this space. I went here to check out their Suite or an upcoming event. It's the perfect place for an intimate party of 30-50. The best part? They host parties year round with their heated tent!

    The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Also love the campaign the Kimpton hotels are doing with the PUBLIC bikes - they're perfect to explore the city and sit down for a nice picnic with their customized picnic basket options.

    I might need to convince the mister for us to book a room to experience the space.

    While I generally enjoy NYC, the hotel rooms are something I normally dread. Everyone knows the mantra, high priced, very small, and often outdated.  I found the Eventi to be a most welcome exception to the rule.  The room had a huge bathroom, with a oversized shower and enough floor space for several ppl to comfortably lay down and still have plenty of standing space(not that I'd recommend that). The rest of the room was very well organized and included a workable desk space and a chair for watching TV.  The bed was extremely comfortable. I don't recall any dresser space, but there were plenty shelves and space in the closet for me (it may have been a bit tight for a long stay, say 1 week+).  Very clean & modern room. Great value (with the NYC pricing qualifier).

    For the price I paid for my room I expected much much more. The service I received was mediocre from staff members. When I first got there the staff were preoccupied with talking amongst themselves. The bellmen were actually the nicest out of everybody. I ended up getting a Premier One Bedroom Suite. I was expecting a city view and all I got were the back of buildings on the 11th floor. For NY, the room was pretty spacious with 500 square feet. It had a little living room area with a pullout couch, the bedroom, and then the bathroom with shower and hot tub connected to each-other. I loved the look and layout of the place, made it look really luxurious with the marble bathroom. The walls are very thin, I heard peoples conversations, weird noises at night and of course all the NYC nightlife outside which usually doesn't bother me but I could barely sleep because of it. My room though was rather dusty from day one which got my allergies going. The shower is advertised as a rain shower head but they should have advertised it as a cheap plastic rain shower head. I've been to other smaller hotels less expensive and they've always been metal, it just made it look very cheap and didn't accent the rest of the room well. Water pressure and temperature was also hard to control. Another issue I had was the shower door only covers half of the shower so water ended up spilling on the bathroom floor every time and had to use the extra towels to soak it up. Also there should be a slight incline on the shower floor, since the water just stays there even after you shower and doesn't go down the drain. I don't want to step on my guests dirty water they just bathed in. I think that's the reason the marble on the floor had a yellowish color to it as well. The room service was superb! It only took 30 minutes and I got a turkey burger stuffed with herbs and french fries. It was packed with flavor and my pallet was going crazy. The room service was the highlight of my stay at Eventi Hotel. Another thing that got me annoyed was in the bathroom they had a sign that advertised them as wanting guests to be as comfortable as possible and if I had forgotten anything at home, they would just bring it on up or go get it for me. I forgot my phone charger so I called to inquire about this service. They said they only had one android charger and someone must of stolen it and to go to Verizon across the street to buy a replacement. No big deal, but since they advertised it I figured I'd take advantage of it, for a 4 night stay my total before room service was $2,000! The front desk didn't even give me the option to go get it for me as the advertisement suggests and just told me to go down the street. Well in NY down the street can be pretty far especially since it was raining so it didn't make me very happy. I know it's NYC and most places I went to people had that NY attitude but the people I dealt with at Eventi were lacking personality towards their guests which should be a number one priority and this establishment lacked the customer service skills that their competitors excel in and for this reason I will not be staying at Eventi in the future even though the room was excellent minus the dust and water spilling on the bathroom floor the customer service is what keeps clients coming back and the customer service was not very impressive.

    I liked the Eventi, I really did. There's not to complain about per se, though I do have some critique. I like Kimpton hotels, I like the small details and the Eventi had lots of those. The happy hour, the chic "do not disturb" button, one of the best showers I've seen in Manhattan, dimming lights, and the lobby attendants who dote on you.

    All those are great but there were a couple things that kind of turned me off - things that I would have expected would be different. I can read reviews and visit a hotel's website for details so in a sense, some things are you get what you get if the information is made available and you choose to stay. For instance (even though I have) you really can't complain about a hotel's location - unless they lied about it, or misled you. You can complain if they claim to be near shopping and then you find that they're near a Target I suppose.

    Anyway, The first and most surprising. Eventi doesn't have a bar. There is no where you can go inside the Eventi hotel and buy a drink. Which, I suppose, shouldn't be a shock because now that I think about it, neither has the two other Kimpton hotels I've stayed at. It's just weird. I'm in a hotel and I don't have to drive. You will make a fortune on people like me if you serve booze, this isn't advanced marketing.

    The happy hour is 5-6. We checked in at 6:15, the next night, we were going to get a head start on the free happy hour by buying a couple drinks at 4:30. Not only did we find out they didn't have a bar, we found out happy hour would start at 5:30. I was and still am confused on that one. Does that mean happy hour was moved to 5:30? Or was it changed to a happy half hour? Not sure because when you're ready to drink, you're not going to wait an hour, so we left and went somewhere else.

    That's it, just those two pretty tiny little things. Great bed, chic decor, great service. We will definitely be back. Hopefully they'll have a bar by then.

    If you're coming in through NYC, there's no more convenient location that Eventi for Penn Station.

    The staff is amazing, always friendly and upbeat and once you check-in, often greeting you by name.  There's a reason Kimpton is growing at the rate they are, it's their service.

    Rooms make the best of the space they have, with a fairly uncomfortable sleeper sofa in the living room (only complaint), but you do have floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view.  Bathroom tub/shower combo makes the room seem larger than it actually is and the bedroom bed/pillows are extremely comfortable.  Great closet space if you're staying more than a few nights.

    There may be more luxurious, more trendy or larger rooms available at other hotels, but somehow this place always feels the most comfortable and most at home, and whether you're here for work or play, that really is the most important factor...

    Heaven on Earth--that's how it felt to be at the Eventi! Having spent 4 nights at the Paramount Hotel in order to escape Hurricane Sandy, I needed to stay in a hotel for a bit longer.  The Eventi is everything you could want in a hotel and for a great price!

    Staff is helpful and were quick to check us in and help us with our bags.

    Luxurious and warm decor from the moment you step in the lobby to the moment you close the door to your room.

    Huge comfortable bed with fluffy pillows!  Huge bathroom with different shower head options (rain or hand held)! Plentiful towels and expensive soaps by Etro! They also have a note of things they have on hand if you need...and if they don't, "they'll go get it"!

    There's complimentary coffee and tea in the morning plus a gym--unfortunately I didn't make it to the gym, pulling 12 hour days at work.

    I saw this hotel as it was being built and I never thought it could be everything that it truly is.  This is one sexy, sophisticated hotel!   And because the Eventi was such an amazing experience, I'll search for a Kimpton hotel the next time I'm traveling!

    Traveled here for work.  Overall front of house staff was considerate and helpful.

    Unfortunately, the manager and sales staff dropped the ball big.  From charging our group Internet and other "miscellaneous" fees which were specifically excluded in our contract to complete room nights, the back of house staff was a nightmare to work with.

    One would think after spending roughly 35k they'd be more responsive and willing to please in the over saturated hotel market that is NYC, but I guess kimpton is doing just fine.  

    The only reason I didn't give them one star is that the front desk staff and one person in finance have been a huge help in sorting out this billing nightmare.

    We just had our wedding at Eventi and very happy about our choice.

    The location was great and the decoration at the hotel gave us some marvelous photos. My guests are impressed with the venue.

    The hotel is self sufficient too. It has parking, a terrace with view of empire state and wtc to host cocktail hour if weather permits and a large foyer for cocktail hour otherwise. The ballroom is very spacious and elegant. We got the bridal suite for the preparation and the screen room for the groom to get ready. The hotel also have a restaurant in the building which catered the event.

    Most importantly, staff at Eventi is very helpful. They accommodated our needs and gave us huge space on our wedding day and they helped a lot with logistics. Lisa was helpful at providing checklist and timeline etc so I felt calm that I have everything covered. With Eventi, I felt I didn't need to worry anything and they will have your back.

    This was our second stay at Eventi.  Why? Because after the first stay it is the only hotel in Manhattan I will use.  (Well, maybe another Kimpton like Ink or Park).  If you want a view I suggest a corner room on the south east side.  You will see the Empire State Building, One Word Trade, and the New York Life Building. The décor, cleanliness, and prompt attention are just a few reasons I have become a Kimpton snob :-p  Always an enjoyable stay, the worst part is leaving.

    I was a guest at a wedding held here and did not stay over night. They ceremony was set up nicely and the cocktail hour was enjoyed on the 5th floor roof top!  The weather was pleasant. Overlooking the Freedom Tower in one direction and the Empire State Building in the other. Provided a lot of good photo ops. Service for appetizers rarely got to our side of the rooftop, that would be the only complaint.
    The wedding was back where the ceremony was and it was transformed into a magical place. The centerpieces were amazing - tree branches with tea lights and crystals hanging from the branches.
    Food was ok, but it was more about the couple who got married. The slideshows that they produced during appetizers/dinner was amazing and even more amazing, it showed on the building across the street, OUTSIDE! It was such a wonderful experience.
    Brunch the next day was also held at the Eventi. Beautiful sun room on the second floor, we had a private seating area. It was a great place to reconnect and reminisce about the previous night's memories.
    Had a lovely time here.

    I am nowhere near classy enough to ever stay in this hotel.

    I recently came here for an event in one of the suites on the 5th floor.  From the outside, Eventi doesn't look like much but don't let the exterior fool you!  Inside it is gorgeous!  There is soft music playing in the background as you wander around the lobby.  The staff is super-friendly (hey, I couldn't find the elevators, ok?), and everything is CLEAN!  

    The suite where the event was held is beautiful.  They transformed it to fit the event better but you could tell where the sitting area typically is, and where the bed would go.  Everything in the suites are polished and new-looking.  

    My favorite part was the bathroom.  It has a huge (and heavy) sliding door that seems great but is probably  a pain in the ass when you're drunk and need to vomit.  Regardless, the bathroom is impressive.  The shower is almost the size of my bedroom.  Two showerheads with two separate controls. The sinks are amazing and also have a makeup-mirror attached to the wall.  They offer CL Biggelow products ( a personal favorite of mine).  Everything in this bathroom is amazing.  Okay, everything in this hotel is amazing.  I want to spend a night here just because.  I fear the price tag, though.  Someone help me.

    The warm staff and surprise pleasantries make your stay feel like a home away from home. While this was my second stay at one of the Kimpton Hotel chains--first being in San Fransisco--I was surprised the genuine, friendly nature of the Eventi team stretched coast to coast!

    The property is very modern with a trendy lobby paired with an equally chic bar area one floor up. This modish lounge serves complimentary wine and snacks--daily, mind you. The stylish mood extends into the rooms where a very comfortable suite awaited our languor. The living space was a decent size for relaxing, but I'm glad I made it to the ultra-plush bed for slumber. If you're like me, you'll appreciate the mini-bar, which transcends your standard selections.

    Location is ideal for trips uptown or downtown with nearby subway access at Herald Sq. Or, exit the main lobby to wade through the sea of taxis awaiting you on Sixth Ave.

    Highly recommended; well done Kimpton.

    This was my first stay at any Kimpton hotel. I'm glad I read Yelp reviews first so I knew to sign up for their rewards program (free WiFi and $15 mini bar credit).

    The room was small but expected by NYC standards.Clean and nicely decorated. Loved the floor to ceiling windows even though I overlooked another building.

    One of the elevators was out of service which made getting up and downstairs slow but it happens.

    We took the Vamoose bus service from Rosslyn, VA and the bus dropped us off just two blocks from the hotel.(penn station)
    Very convenient and easy to find.  
    This was our first time staying at the Eventi and we couldn't be more impressed. As we entered on a Saturday @1pm the lobby was under construction. Now here is why we were so impressed.
    There was a hostess standing there as soon as we entered and directed us to the temp. Chec- in desk on the 4th floor and told us a glass of champagne would be waiting for us for the inconvenience.
    When we got to the 4th floor the set up was clean and easy. No crazy disorder or confusion from the desk clerk. Nothing to give away that their work desk was a temporary deal...it was very professional.
    They took our bags, told us the room wasn't ready till 3 (not their fault. That's standard) but bumped us to a top floor anyway, put champagne in hand and showed us where the restrooms were. There was a separate lounge area for guests to Waite till their rooms were ready and there was fresh strawberry infused water to drink at ur convenience. Kimpton hotels rock.
    Every evening they hosted a wine hour and never did they make u feel like a bum for going back for seconds, thirds, or....tenths^^ and yes, it's free^^ in NYC! Unheard of!!!
    The hotel is clean, rooms are huge for NYC standards and their location is almost perfect. Scratch that. It is perfect. The best service, and hospitality.
    Suggestion: sign up for their Intouch membership that is free. You get free wifi at their hotels and free credit towards the minibar. And in NYC that's $15. My hubby and I love Kimpton hotels for their attention to detail and have stayed multiple kimptons.....Eventi is the tops!

    The rooms were cramped and the bathrooms were slightly shabby. It is NOT a 4 plus star hotel.

    The service was horrible. The maid disregarded the do not disturb sign and came in the room while my companion was taking a shower.

    WiFi was not free, the honor bar was over priced. The hallways and elevator were depressing and grubby.

    Do not stay here.

    The layout of the hotel is beautiful. The lobby is dimly lit with modern furnishings to let off this upscale and romantic vibe. Up to the fifth floor I went for a few hours in a gorgeous room, minus the bed.
    The bathrooms are stunning. Huge counters for the sink and a those lovely huge showers built for 2 complete with water fall shower head and glass pane. The toilet has the option for a partial flush or a full flush- depending on whether or not you feel like conserving water during your personal duties.
    The views are breath taking that even I, a native NYer was in awe of. I love my city.
    Who knows what the cost of the rooms are here but from what I have seen, this place looks like a great spot to stay if you are in town for a few days. Its a good location for commuting to other parts of manhattan.

    I was at this swanky hotel a few days ago to attend a special PR event for my blog. The wine was flowing, great food was being served, and the gift bags we received at the end were icing on the cake! Plus, the actual event was held in one of the beautiful suites on the 5th floor. Total win!

    Located in a part of town that can best be described as "meh" the Eventi is like a breath of boutique hotel fresh air! The lobby is designed in a chic warm look. Soft music in the background. The staff is friendly and professional. The hotel is very clean too. Sexy and sophisticated.

    The suite is something else. The one room we were in reminded me of a library with dark leather features and stylish decor. They removed the bed to hold the event here and I could just imagine waking up on a sunny morning, grabbing a cup of coffee, and chilling out on the  huge wrap around balcony that surrounded the whole suite! The bathroom was something out of an HGTV show. Huge heavy wooden sliding door. Marble everywhere. A shower I could live in. Art on the walls. CL Bigelow bath products. As that commercial says - " Opulence - I has it! " This is the bathroom we all wish we had.

    One day I would like to stay here as part of a "staycation" but I fear my credit card would melt. After all, I do have rent to pay too! Might as well just stay in my own apartment with my tiny insignificant bathroom!

    The room size for a NYC hotel was INCREDIBLE! The bed was so cozy and comfortable -- I've never slept better. The bathroom was over sized with gorgeous marble everywhere. I especially loved the rain shower option. I would highly recommend this Kimpton hotel.

    This was my second time staying at The Eventi, and it was wonderful.

    The staff always greeted me right away, held doors for me, offered me refreshment, and took care of anything I needed immediately. Kimpton has a knack for amazing service, and I will continue to be loyal to them because of it.

    The Eventi style is unique as it is the only one of its kind in the Kimpton family--very NY/big city design with very comfortable and inviting nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy a cocktail in the lounge, or within your own room. Lush, rich fabrics to sit on, and beautiful linens in the bathroom and on the bed.

    The funny thing is that this hotel is one of only two Kimpton's that carries a particular brand of soap--forget the name, will add it later--but it's AWESOME. It's spicy and musky and very clean smelling and it's also exclusive to Kimpton...which is good and bad because I want it ALL the time!

    The concierge hooked us up with some fabulous reservations to a boutique restaurant in Chelsea and got us on the list for a local club that was featuring some late-night drag--so NY, so fun!

    I really appreciated the service and friendliness at this location, and will be back very soon!

    Who would have thought that this hotel was as wonderful as it is being smack dab in Midtown along with some of the larger chains (which usually leave a little or A LOT to be desired). Hosted a conference here for work (we're not that far from the location) and the staff and venue were incredibly accommodating. The location is great for hosting out-of-towners who are wide-eyed with all NY-isms being right in Midtown and was swanky enough to accommodate the NY staff on the team. The rooms are super clean, polished and very well decorated and furnished. A colleague had a suite and the living area and tub were AMAZING enough to want to move in!

    I've stayed in a few Kimpton hotels before, and The Eventi is hands down my favorite. That being said, it is by far my favorite hotel to stay at while visiting NYC (and I have stayed in quite a few). Bullet-points to quickly cover how awesome this place is:
    -Excellent customer service, everyone is so warm and friendly. Special shout out to Gabriella Monte for making my most recent stay so memorable.
    -Free happy hour 5-6 PM with red/white wine, cheese, crackers, fresh fruit
    -Big, spacious rooms (*per NYC standards*)
    -Extremely comfortable bed. Seriously, so awesome!
    -Great location (10 min walk from Grand Central)
    -Marble bathrooms, rainfall/doorless shower
    -Free wifi
    -Competitively priced, yet significantly better than most other hotels in the city

    After a few stays here in the past couple months, I have decided to exclusively stay at this hotel while visiting NYC from now on. It will exceed your expectations, guaranteed. Highly, highly recommend!

    There's no really good reason why I'm not giving it a 5 - I just want to reserve that for some reason. Such wonderfully friendly staff. Efficient check in. Enthusiastically upgraded to top floor for no apparent reason.

    Deliciously-nice scent in elevators, which ran well. Clean, bright room with a great view. Clean, surprisingly large bathroom with gorgeous, modern fixtures including rain shower and plenty of counter space. Comfy bed. Ample gym.

    The good: beautiful view from my northwest corner king room; comfy bed; giant, well-appointed bathroom; super-clean; shockingly quiet; friendly staff; central location (a bit of a no-man's land, but walkable to most anywhere).

    The bad: mucked-up welcome (my brother is a Kimpton regular who gave us a free stay so they put his faves in our room rather than the bottle of wine and chocolate he specifically requested and they assured him would be in place); squishy room dimensions; the front desk accidentally deactivating our keys on day two; housekeeping neglecting to leave any shampoo upon our arrival and being stingy with the replacement toiletries each day; the mystery charge on my credit card (which was NOT on my printout when I checked out) that turned out to be an honor bar item (when we never opened the honor bar); the brusque staff member who reluctantly agreed to remove said charge without any apology for the hassle of having to follow-up with them.

    boy for the price, I expect something more. All I got is a tiny room about 250 sq ft but I told them it's my special occasion. Free upgrade which is like to the same room just a few floors up.

    Tip!! do ask for a upper floor. you will enjoy the night sight. DO NOT!!! ask for any service because it will cost you at every corner. I hated hotel that charges $500 per night and still go for the pennies.

    The people are really polite and place is definitely clean. Wifi is free which just sign up for an membership account.

    Main reason this hotel is getting a 3 star review is because we had a bit of a rough start. I checked in like normal (around 5pm?), and went up to my room and did a quick once-over everything and realized I'm in the wrong type of room. I reserved a Premier One Bedroom Suite, but I knew the room was a Executive One Bedroom Suite. So I called down to the front desk to see if they could change my room, but they told me they didn't have any of those rooms available... I wasn't about to pay a higher price for a smaller room, so I asked what they can do for me. This was my first time ever booking a hotel, so I wasn't very happy with the mistake. Fortunately, the guy at the front desk said there was a room that would be available after 6pm and suggested that I could drop off my bags and have dinner. Good thing I was hungry!

    Besides the rough start, when I finally settled into the correct room, I was really happy. Bed was HUGE and super comfy, and I had no problems with noise. Housekeeping was nice, they put a little note every time I came back from sightseeing. There's free Wifi if you're a Kimpton member (I signed up just to get free wifi at this hotel). And they have the Wine Hour, which I missed because I was so busy hitting up all the touristy spots in NYC.

    Overall, I love this hotel, it's super comfy in a prime location and the staff is nice. But I wouldn't come back, unless it was for a super special occasion or there was a special rate. Kimpton hotels are definitely my vibe, just a little out of my price range :)

    My daughter and I stayed in this hotel four times within the last year. You know how the first time you go somewhere, it's great but the following visits, you like it less and less. Not with the Eventi. Love the location -- rooms are what hotel rooms should be in NYC. Absolutely adore the wine receptions in the late afternoon. Twice it was on the rooftop and the weather held in our favor. Couldn't pick a better place to unwind after a long day working. The coffee in the lobby is great in the mornings and the staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. What hotels phone you every day to make sure that the hotel is up to your expectations? We stayed four times and will continue to stay there in the future.

    The location is great - very close to the theater district, Times Square, and other NYC attractions.

    The Staff - they were all so kind and accommodating. Even when we checked in at midnight due to a delayed flight, Chris at the front desk was friendly and helpful.

    The Room - clean, modern, and nice sized rooms. We had a view of the Empire State Bldg from out room.

    The Restaurant/room service - great burger and Greek salad.

    Overall the best hotel in NYC that we have stayed at. Will visit them again.

    Great little boutique hotel only a couple blocks from Madison Square Garden.  Located at Corner of Avenue of the Americas and 30th, the Eventi features rooms taken right out of a continental Europe hotel, and the price is NYC reasonable.  They offer a 5 pm wine complimentary for guests wine and cheese event each day, either in the 2nd floor restaurant (Humphreys), or in the lobby.  You can sit and watch TV on a 30 foot screen outside the window at Humphreys.  The bar on the second floor is also nice spot for a beer, glass of wine, or mixed drink.

    The staff is friendly and accommodating.  We had a nice breakfast buffet one morning, and coffee delivered timely to the room each morning.  

    They are dog friendly as well, so bring your pooch!

    Fantastic. It was a long stay too (7 nights) so REALLY happy to have been happy.

    From check-in (MAN what a delightful gal) to all of the door dudes, to the room itself (nice! roomy! (for NYC), there was all kindsa good happening. Oh and the sweet housekeeper who helped me zip my dress (traveling alone in the summer can offer these kinds of conundrums- but easily solved - and with laughs too). A nice guy named Kevin helped me deal with some stuff today, really superb.

    I liked the darker decor, I found it restful. It's probably hip too, but what I notice is that it felt helpful in the 'winding down' that has to happen in a crazy city.

    Tons of attention to detail with decor and service and the location is great. Oh and the rate was better than other hotels, so I'm truly a fan. Even if I could never remember the name  of it.

    What a wonderful hotel! It really is more than a hotel experience. Darian James, "DJ", helped me make my boyfriend's 30th birthday more than just your average birthday. We had a top floor view, and enjoyed the free cupcakes that are brought around to new guests. The staff were more than friendly, and the accommodations are on par with the 4+ stars this hotel gets on Yelp.

    The location of this hotel is also perfect. VERY close to major trains, and easy to get back to after a long night on the town.

    Fun tip: Ask for a fish from the front desk.

    Extra fun tip: On Friday's they have a free happy hour for guests from 5-6 with some fun theme.

    Wow wow!! This hotel is awesome!  The staff's thoughtfulness and attention to detail are second to none. Right before the trip I had read somewhere that there was some construction going on so I contacted them. It ended up being he best thing I have ever done for a hotel. They heard my concern and let me know that none of there restaurants were affected. In addition to this they had upgraded our room at no cost and had an amazing welcome basket of wine, chocolate, drinks, etc and it was all complimentary. We then didn't even notice any construction during our visit. They have an awesome bar that has views of the city. Our room overlooked the Empire State Building. I also loved their bathroom products. You won't be disappointed with this hotel!!

    They put a plush toy kitten in my room!!! What??  Yes, Vanessa at the front desk must have seen the silly joke note I put in my reservation for two that read "if you happen to have a kitten, will you please put it in my room.  I could really use a kitten right now."  I arrived and she coyly checked me in & said, "Sorry, I couldn't find you a real kitten." I laughed & walked on up to my room.  As I entered ... there she was ... laying on the queen size bed next to a note with little drawn paw prints all over it.  Not only that, but a kitten decorated cupcake and strawberries!  Okay, I really like the Kimpton chain. I've stayed in several all over L.A., D.C., Miami, San Fran, etc.  But, this really, really is the top of customer service.  

    I ate some of the cupcake & left the rest for my friend.  Then, I grabbed my new kitty and ran off to meet with my high powered feminist author friend who insisted on meeting me at the Ace.  Without any warning, I placed the pink kitten (now named Eventi Vanessa) on the bar stool.  There she sat amid the hipsters.  

    I returned to Eventi. And, it was freezing.  Their FREE (yes, free) happy hour was full of fresh berries, cheeses, olives, bread, and wine.  I sat there with my kitty and read while waiting on my friend.  Oddly, a few guys came over and offered to buy me a drink.  Hmm.. do you seriously want to hit on a girl who clearly has cat issues? Plus, I already had a date!  This place is really fun, fresh, and lively . And, it's great for couple, families, and snarky girls like me.

    If there was an award for best customer service agent, it should go to Vanessa.  Honestly, she is top notch and so is Eventi.

    Constantly screwed up arrangements. The room was never cleaned properly and definitely not worth the price tag. I guess if you're a professional with a lot of money to throw around, this is your place and they'll take care of you! But if you're in a creative career and don't flash your money around they could care less.

    For what it's worth, most of the front desk staff are pretty friendly and one of the guys in particular was great. Wish I caught his name! However, I can't recommend this place at all. Below average.

    The location was great, central to everything in the garment and floral district.  The staff was very courteous and helpful.  The Broncos stayed here while we were here yet they did such a good job providing them with security that we didn't even notice them.  The bathroom was something out of a dream or a movie, incredible.  The view during the day, at night and in the morning was wow, although we got the empire state building side i am curious about the view on the other side.  Wine hour was a little lame, although a nice idea, bottles of wine were cheap and wine wasn't great, the area for the wine hour was nice but not something that i would book or count on being a great experience, we came in quick and left quick.  The dining area and lounge area for the bar was really posh.  The 5th floor open bar area was closed the entire time we were there.  The bed slept like a cloud and everything is still very new and well maintained.  Although there are occasional instances of signs of wear.  We didn't bother turning on the TV and i don't imagine a lot of people do.  The garage parking was really convenient but i can't figure out the price because for 28 hours when i thought it was included with the hotel price came out to $120, which doesn't really add up.  Where i find myself dropping this location from a 5-star to a 4-star is the inclusions, literally none, other than the view and soap in the room.  For the money that you pay more things other than cheap wine for an hour should be included.  Am i off in thinking water should be included given that you probably can't drink what comes from the tap?  You could easily spend the cost of a fine dining restaurant to get a couple of items out of the mini bar.

    Eventi's my jam whenever I'm in Manhattan (a few weekends a year). I'm a Kimpton fan and try to stay with the chain whenever I can, because they really do it right and make sure their customers are happy, and I'm never disappointed with a Kimpton.

    Eventi in particular is comfortable, a bit luxurious, in an ideal location for me, and has wonderful staff. Every time I'm here for some kind of occasion (birthday, anniversary), they never hesitate to send up a little token of celebration, be it a cupcake, box of chocolates, or bottle of champagne. Love the usual Kimpton perks as well (wine happy hour, free coffee/tea, $15 free from the mini-bar, free wifi, great toiletries, use of a robe and yoga mat, pets allowed, etc.). I keep my eyes out for deals via email so I usually stay here for about ~$200 a night which is really cheap for what you get IMO. Highly recommended.

    Wonderful hotel close to just about everything you may need.

    Arrive with a complimentary upgrade to a suite! Woo hoo! Then forgot my toothbrush, which they were able to provide me with. Later realized I forgotten contact solution but they were able to provides with this as well.

    Comfy beds, excellent staff, and reasonable priced. I will be back that's for sure!

    I ordered a pizza from room service that, per the menu, had "cherry tomatoes, spicy sausage, pecorino." The pizza had all that, plus arugula, plus the crime of crimes, OLIVES. You can't just throw olives onto a pizza where it is not listed as an ingredient. It's not a spice or herb, it's an ingredient that has to be mentioned, as some people like me consider olives to be the most wretched "food" on this earth. So I had the pizza returned, and did not get anything else as, who knows, maybe all the other dishes have olives sprinkled on them too? I lost my appetite even from just smelling the olives on the otherwise reasonable-looking pizza.

    The menu needs to be re-written. Anything with olives needs this stated on the menu.

    I'm not staying here any more. I stay in NYC 50 nights a year and have plenty of hotel choices. Hotel's not bad, but they either can't write a room service menu correctly or don't follow instructions in the kitchen.

    The location is excellent, the staff super helpful and patient when we had an issue with our credit card on booking in. The room, with a view of the Empire State, was large, comfortable and cleaned early each morning which is great. The bathroom is fantastic, I miss the shower :(

    Can't comment on the dining/bar facilities because, well, New York was just outside, but everything about this place worked for us, especially the price. Having stayed in hotels that think they're better because they might be a bit trendier or have some kind of rooftop bar/club, the Eventi blows them out of the water.

    I wanted to spend my birthday at a beautiful hotel with great views of the city at a reasonable price. I searched and I found this awesome hotel.   I was really impressed. Check in was quick . Parking was easy. They have onsite parking  for about $50, and for the city that is pretty good . The staff was very nice. The room was somewhat small but it what you would normally fet in New York City. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable that all that mattered. The location was awesome everything was in walking distance and the subway was about a block away. I had no complaints. I will definitely stay again.

    So this our place of stay while visiting this trip. Very quant and quiet hotel as with all the Kimptoms. Arrived on Thursday and left on Monday. I guess the rooms are small but it is New York so what can you say. The staff is very polite and attentive. Sometimes too attentive. Had a person who comes and checks the mini bar daily to refresh our items. Turn down service is great and housekeeping was on point. Room rates are pricey $$$$ but it is a boutique hotel so what can you say. 4 nights stay, almost $2400. Guess you gotta live by the "work hard, play hard" motto. Thanks to the staff for their great service.

    My 200th review!

    I was relocated here from another Kimpton Hotel that shall remain nameless, that didn't have air conditioning, which in my world was un-doable because my greyhound would continue to be in distress in the 75 degree room for 2 days in the mini heat-wave in NYC this past weekend, had we stayed there.

    So when I arrived at this hotel, the white gloves came on and the red carpet was rolled out for me.  What a splendid treat.

    My greyhound and I checked into a beautiful corner room, room 2217 on the 2nd to highest floor.  I had a gorgeous view of 6th Avenue, and later that night I watched the Presidential motorcade work its way down 6th.

    This was my first stay at Kimpton.  Usually I'm a budget-minded hotel guest, but with a large dog in Manhattan, options are limited, which is was a shock after my research.

    The welcome amenity was lovely, it was white wine and a fruit plate.  I didn't enjoy either of them because wine gives me a headache and fruit gives me a tummy ache ;)  But the gesture was lovely.

    I did order room service one night after the Armin Van Buuren concert, I got the veggie burger and fries.  It was delicious.  

    The housekeepers were also EXCELLENT.  Don't forget to always tip your housekeepers!  They're the hardest hotel workers! (I know, I used to be one!)

    The bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked wonderfully.  The room was absolutely what I would consider luxurious.... I'm usually a Days Inn (or lower) type of guest.  So what a treat to enjoy 2 nights at the Eventi.

    I wish I knew more names so I could recognize them here.  

    I'm not sure I'll be back, only because this place isn't cheap.  Traveling alone with a dog and a car in Manhattan can set a girl back!

    I was in the King room with 1 king bed for 5 nights with city view. The city view was super ugly. The room was super clean, nice and cozy. I have to say it feels pretty big for a hotel room in NYC. I think they did a good job in cleaning the room. Only sometimes they forget to give me shampoo or something else. Gym was pretty big and enough machines to use when away from home. Everything were in good shape.

    Only down side was the service. I think they are kind of slow. For instance, when I asked for hot water, it takes them forever to deliver or it may not even come. They only have cold water in the lobby for everyone to take. The container holding the water is not big enough for the whole hotel. It runs out rather quickly. If you want more water, you WILL have to wait a good amount of time just to get it. The one good thing is there is a water fountain where the gym is located. If you do not want to wait, go there. Additionally, I wish they tell you how to use the elevator when I checked it. I was stuck in there for a long time wonder how I'm suppose to operate it. I only found out when people were entering in and told me I had to slide my card in order to operate it. They were all telling me it took them a long while before they found out. You would wonder why they don't you before hand. =_= "dislike"

    I do like the hotel, makes me feel like home. I might consider this hotel if the price is right.

    I love Kimpton Hotels in general and the Eventi is a fantastic place to stay in NYC. It's smack dab in the middle of everything --- super friendly staff, great decor and vibe as well. I was fortunate enough to get a free upgrade to an executive suite with a cool little sitting area and separate bedroom with a king sized bed -- nice! The rooms are still fairly small but it's NYC so I suppose square footage is a premium.

    After doing some walking around, I ended up at the 2nd floor hotel bar and bellied up for a couple of beers and dinner. It was dead, which suited me just fine and the bartender, Scott was very engaging and outgoing -- he was helping a new bartender named Tatiana and she did a great job of walking me through the IPA's and menu. I eventually settled on the bacon cheeseburger with fries and it did not disappoint - very tasty and cooked to perfection. . Overall, the food was very good, fresh, and refined. It's bit overpriced but I wasn't disappointed with the meal so I shouldn't complain.

    I love the double-head shower with the bench so you can just sit and chill and let the water wash over you but unfortunately, the water pressure is a bit weak and I hard a really difficult time regulating the temperature. Hard to relax when you're constantly tweaking the temperature because it's going from warm to scolding hot. Not sure if this is water heater issue or if I'm a goofball but it was a bit frustrating.

    They have a great mini-bar as well --- a lot of goodies to choose from. I happened to have a $15 gift card for the mini-bar so I dug into some late snacks before crashing.

    Again the rooms are very nice and comfy with everything you need. I absolutely loved the bed and linens. After a long day of traveling, I felt like I was floating on a cloud.

    Probably being nit-picky but the walls do seem a little thin. You're in the middle of the city so you're going to hear a siren or two but hearing people come and go in the halls took some getting used to. It wasn't a major deal and really didn't impact my overall stay but I thought I should probably mention it for those that are very noise-sensitive.

    At the end of the day, it does not get much better than the Eventi IMO and I will definitely plan to stay here again (and other Kimpton Hotels) when traveling. I highly recommend the brand!

    Swanky hotel with club like restrooms at the restaurant level whee it is dak, stainless steal.
    The restaurant has skyline windows but as it's on second floor, no real view of city which is disappointing since is a high rise and would of had spectacular views

    Value: average 2.5/5

    Recently had a prolonged stay here due to personal circumstances and i must say, the Eventi staff really reminded me why Kimpton overall - and especially Eventi is my go-to hotel. Specifics below:

    Very cozy, spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The furnishings are extremely comfortable and welcome after a long day at work or seeing the city. The lighting is just perfect - enough to dim to the right level in the rooms and bathroom as well. Reading lights with a bright LED bedside is just the perfect touch at the end of the day for reading in bed. The housekeeping is probably the best I've experienced. Caring, thorough and detailed. The towels are plush, bathrobes comfy and the room was always left clean from first visit through the nightly turndown service. A++. My view of the skyline (including Empire State Bldg) was magnificent.

    I think this is an overall Kimpton 'thing' however the staff are top notch. Most NYC hotels I've stayed at (other than Kimpton), I always feel like I'm inconveniencing them by being a guest. Hate that feeling no matter what length of stay. From the moment I enter the Eventi lobby, I'm made to feel welcomed with proper greetings from the front desk staff and door/bellmen as well. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

    I dined at the Humphrey Restaurant one night and really enjoyed the experience (see separate review). I also used the fitness room and appreciate the machinery made available to use. The complimentary wine hour always makes for a nice break as well. The location is really ideal - close enough to Times Sq/Broadway Theater District and in the heart of midtown - however its far enough to escape from that riffraff. Nice dining, shopping and resources are w/in 10-15 blocks - really ideal in Manhattan. Love having the option of walking to Union Square, Flatiron, Madison Sq Park or Times Sq literally w/in minutes.

    I realize this sounds like I work for Kimpton, however I assure you, I don't. I just truly value a good hotel product with all my required traveling. Trust me, it really makes a difference and affects my work and life. The fact that the hotel is uber pet friendly, is a MAJOR plus. I often travel with my dogs and they too love the experience for all the above reasons, just at a different elevation ;).

    Kimpton Hotels are the best. Boutique style hotel with personalized service. Most of the ones I have been to are in the process of being renovated but they still keep everything stylish and hip.
    Here's what to expect:
    *Great service. From the front desk (make sure you deal with Juan, he's excellent) to the room assistants, no complaints...well actually just a minor one - the bell hop could smile a bit more. :-)
    *Great views. Juan hooked us up. We had a 22nd floor city view with floor to ceiling windows. Yeah I am petrified of heights but this didn't bother me.
    *Great deals. We had a $15 credit to raid the bar, comp valet (internet quick deal) and wine hour from 5-6. We had dinner plans during that time so they sent up a bottle of wine to our room...on the house!
    *Great location. Walking distance to fun stuff in the city. Plus it's a nice area.
    *Great beds. Seriously, the bed was comfy.
    *Great bathroom. Sliding wooden doors, enough room to put another small bed in there.
    Great hotel! Worth the money to stay here. ENJOY!

    This was my first stay at the Eventi. I really, really wanted to give it five stars because I'd figure it would be just as great as my last Kimpton stay but I just couldn't, and here's why.

    Let's start with the positives though:
    - I'm an Inner Circle member and reached out to Julian (Hotel Manager) for an upgraded room. He put us in a corner room on the highest floor facing the Empire State Building. Although he didn't have to, we got not two, but four bottles of Ramune sodas. You bet we enjoyed those! I also got a framed picture of my kitten and a small bowl of dried fruits. One thing I noticed though compared to other hotels is that we received the amenities later in the evening, close to dinnertime, as opposed to having the amenities waiting there for us.
    - The room was ready at 2pm instead of 3pm
    - Great customer service from Julian, the front desk, concierge and housekeeper
    - The room view of the Empire State Building was spectacular
    - Room was clean
    - Bathroom was unique and spacious (only half a glass door covers the shower)
    - Decent location with shops and restaurants around us
    - Lovely hotel decor

    Here were the negatives:
    - The walls are a little thin that I heard a dog barking for a good one hour straight. Yes. Straight. How can a dog have so much to say??
    - There seemed to be miscommunication with getting a toothbrush. I went down to the lobby to ask for a toothbrush. The front desk clerk mentioned that they were out but someone will send one up shortly. Someone dropped off a toothbrush but then I received a call from the front desk way after I received the toothbrush that someone will send one up.
    - The minibar had a couple of items missing upon our arrival in the room, which took multiple employees and phone calls to correct in a span of two hours due to their misunderstanding/miscommunication (this was the biggest hassle and time-consuming issue that we dealt with). So make sure the minibar is fully stocked when you arrive!
    - They charged another's person stay instead of my own to my credit card upon check-out. If I didn't check the statement before we left (since it was stuffed in an envelope before it was given to me), that would have been a waste of time to correct. So check your statement before you leave the hotel!
    - Inner Circle and InTouch members receive a $15 minbar credit here. I took two items from the minibar and used the credit. The final statement upon check-out looked fine. However, a charge showed up on my credit card a couple of days later for an item from the minibar that was supposed to be free after the credit.

    For a $507 one-night stay, I was expecting an excellent, worry-free stay. However, I just didn't get that here. This was already over our budget, but we figured we'd give Eventi a try. I'm bummed that we encountered these issues, and the stay fell short of our expectations.

    Gabriella (Front Office Manager) did reach out to me after I sent an email with my feedback and addressed my email, which was appreciated.

    Sadly, we probably won't return due to the issues we encountered and amount we paid for one night. It would almost have to be free/dirt cheap for us to give it another shot. :(

    The front desk always acknowledges you, the doormen run their butt off to grab a taxi, it's just on par.

    Small lobby with flavored iced water and coffee in the AM.

    Elevators are slow...well slower compared to some.

    2nd floor- comp wine hour 5-6pm (nothing fancy) but can sit at The bar (owned by Humphreys) and the outside patio (very nice)

    5th floor- size able gym for New York, stocked with headphones and apples. Didn't look for the hula hoops this time.

    The room was comfortable, very clean, great views. Will be back as much as possible- 2 blocks away from Macy and the shops like Zara and uniqlo.

    Rain shower head is great too.

    Amenities are by CW bigalow

    Trader joes is a few blocks away! Win!
    Starbucks is 1 block away
    Stumptown is one block away

    We just got back from a two-night stay at the Eventi. This was our second stay, and, if memory serves, we found ourselves in exactly the same suite we had occupied on our previous visit. We had found the Eventi convenient (within easy walking distance of Penn Station), well-appointed and, by NYC standards, reasonably well-priced. Our stay came to a little over $1200.

    On this trip, however, things did not go smoothly. Fortunately, I have finally learned not to tip hotel staff for rectifying shortcomings. Were this not this case, I would be -- at $5 a pop -- some $25 poorer. Shortly after checking in, I noted that the usual array of bathroom "condiments" included two tubes of body wash and no shampoo. I called down, and shampoo was promptly delivered.

    Further calls ensued as one by one we noticed other problems with the preparation of the room -- no laundry bag, no in-room breakfast menu, a "used" mini-bar menu with items checked off by a previous occupant of the room, as well as a safe that had been locked in the open position. Five little problems, each trivial on its own, but collectively a time-consuming nuisance. It's worthy of note that in each case the complaint was dealt with promptly. Much appreciated, Eventi!

    In addition,  the diverter -- you know, the lever in the shower you set to mix hot and cold water -- protested any setting other than all hot or all cold. Any setting between the two extremes produced a loud squeal from the pipes, reduced water flow, and provided only temporary relief. We were forced to shower taking advantage of the brief transitions between too cold and too hot. We notified the hotel of the problem after the first night. I don't think they addressed it as the squealing continued, but we did get better at extending the length of the transition period.

    Oh, and one more nit. We enjoyed an excellent in-room breakfast on the first morning of our stay. In spite of our having a suite with ample room, the entire meal was delivered on one tray with plated items stacked to a perilous height. I don't think I've ever dined in-room without a draped table being provided, but at Eventi, we found ourselves eating a carefully prepared meal off our laps. We managed and enjoyed the meal, but still...

    Had we known at the time of the booking that the hotel was undergoing extensive renovation during our stay, we probably would have avoided the Eventi for the time being. The hotel did a good job of minimizing the impact, but even on the twelfth floor, the jackhammers at work on the first floor could be felt as well as heard.

    We've stayed in enough Kimpton hotels to know that this visit was probably an anomaly. We'll give the Eventi another try, but most likely not before the construction is complete.

    Spent a very relaxing weekend at Eventi Hotel. It's seems like we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a view of the Empire State Building on a higher floor. Thanks Eventi, much appreciated!  

    Kevin & Jason at the front were super polite and helpful. Arturo, who was serving wine during the awesome wine hour on the third floor was also very friendly.

    The only not so spectacular encounter was a young lady at the front desk during the daytime. We stood there for a second and she continued to watch a video on her cell phone with another woman ( another employee maybe?) instead of attending to us. Not a big deal, but it was definitely unprofessional.
    Room service was just a tad pricy (as expected) but everything we had was absolutely delicious.

    The room was pretty spacious for NYC and the shower was AH-mazing. We loved our time at Eventi and so did our dog! I would definitely be using Kimpton Hotels during my travels.

    My company held a summer party at the 5th floor roof deck of the Eventi and it was great! Super nice rooftop, a good amount of space, and great staff. The food was EXCELLENT with tons of variety and the staff did a great job of making sure it came out frequently so bellies were full. I've been to my fair share of rooftops in this area, there are plenty given the gorgeous views of the Empire State Building, but this one certainly stood out as one of my favorites. I would love to attend another event here in the future and would recommend it as a top notch venue for all kinds of events.

    I have stayed at Eventi before and it was fantastic.  This visit had some issues:

    -room not serviced until we called at 4 pm after being out all day
    -soiled towel left in the room on arrival
    -furniture was scratched and shabby
    - only chair in the room faced away from TV
    -mini bar was never restocked
    -no hot water on one morning

    On the good side, service was very good and responsive to issues after we made phone calls and left tips. But overall, this stay did not live up to the Kimpton brand and previous outstanding experiences.  Hopefully this is not a harbinger of the future as an intercontinental hotel subsidiary.  That would be a shame.

    Oh and at $500 per night, this should have been much much better.

    There was one receptionist working the front desk on an extremely busy day. Understaffed overserved. I waited in line for 20 minutes for a simple request at the front desk and nothing happened. Staff was also curt in rude.

    My first Kimpton stay using my newly-minted InnerCircle status.

    If you're staying at any Kimpton property--take 30 seconds to sign up for In Touch (their loyalty program). It gets you free WiFi and most likely a better room on a higher floor.

    The Eventi is simply fabulous. But not fabulous like over the top (The W) or too cool for its own good (The Hudson). Fabulous here meaning perfectly balanced style and functionality. It's sensible, but still NYC chic.

    I was upgraded to a Premier 1-Bedroom Suite on the 23rd floor. Undoubtedly one of the best hotel rooms (if you have call this a "room") I've ever stayed in. The perfect extension of an exceptionally well designed hotel, the 1-bedroom suites are spacious, supremely appointed, functional for the business traveler, and the kind of room that you honestly never want to leave. The pictures don't do the space justice. Amazing views, insanely comfortable bed, technologically sound, plenty of space to have a couple of people over for some wine.....and then there's the bathroom.  Oh, the bathroom. You'll find yourself taking 3 showers a day. And, if you're like me, and averse to baths (cooking in a large pool of hot water???), you'll all of a sudden love baths (HUGE tub complete with whirlpool jets). This is the hotel room of your dreams.

    My room was spotless and was impeccably cleaned each day by housekeeping staff.  

    The service is solid. The staff really care about the guests and go out of their way to make sure everything is in line.

    I hope to be able to stay here again when business takes me to New York.

    The hotel is beautiful on the outside, as are the rooms, and the staff is very pleasant.  They lose a star for COLD expensive oatmeal delivered to my room (twice) and a shower that could scald and/or freeze people, but not make them happy, clean, and ready for their day. I called the first day about the shower, but there was no improvement by day 2.  I would give 5 stars without all this, and I'm not going down to 3 because this could just be bad luck?

    *Restaurant staff is not super friendly.  Ate there a few times and it was always the same not-so-personal service.  One time they seated 2 people who came in after me first.

    I loved this place so much!

    I just stayed overnight on a Friday with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. As a Karma Rewards member, you can book one of their Last Minute Deals within a week of your stay. They have discounted rates on most of their rooms if you're willing to book last minute. It's wonderful.

    When they emailed me to confirm my stay, it said to let them know if we had any questions or needed anything. So I said, what the hell, and asked if they could do anything special for us since we were staying for her birthday. I got a very enthusiastic yes and said we would be taken care of. When we got there, they upgraded our room to one of the highest floors with a great view of the Empire State Building and had champagne and cupcakes sent to the room! One of the concierge guys even sang a few lines of Happy Birthday to her! So sweet!

    We were in a king corner room on the 19th floor. It was a good size, especially for NYC. I noticed on the floor plan that it was on the larger side. The interior rooms looked smaller but not by a whole lot. There's a large desk, 37" LG TV, floor to ceiling windows, and the mini bar. Another perk of the Karma Rewards is you get $15 to  "raid the mini bar". Not sure I'd call it much of a raid since a bag of M&Ms is $7 BUT it was nice to have a few options for free.

    The bathroom is super huge, and super modern. There are 2 shower heads; 1 rain and 1 regular/detachable. You can only use one at a time. Word of caution; if you are staying here with someone who you wouldn't want to see you naked in the shower, don't do it or make sure they don't come in the bathroom. There's no lock on the bathroom door and there's no door in the shower, just a glass partition where the water is. I loved it though!

    Wifi is free if you are a Kimpton Karma Reward member.

    We ordered dinner from the in-room dining menu and it was really good! I had a Hen of the Woods Grilled cheese (never heard of this before but glad I tried it) and we ordered the truffle cheese fries and kobe sliders for my gf. So. Much. Food. The fries were insanely good. She loved the sliders and I enjoyed the sandwich. My only suggestion to them was to allow you the opportunity to save your food and reheat it later. I hate wasting food and ended up eating way too much because I couldn't save it and reheat it another day.

    Super friendly. Super welcoming. Super accommodating. Just an overall awesome experience.

    Not applicable to my stay but they are super dog friendly. I saw so many in check in and check out. Love that about Kimpton. They're also very LGBT friendly and have donated to an LGBT organization I volunteered at many times. Good people. Give them your money if you're staying in NYC.

    Kimpton is easily becoming one of my favorite new places to funnel my cash. I booked a last minute basic room at Eventi and I'm happy I did!

    The rooms are beautiful, sexy, and modern. I loved the combination of colors and textures that made the room look more open and inviting. The bathroom, even in the basic room is PHENOMENAL!! It's all luxurious marble and the rainfall shower is one my favorites I've ever used! After dousing yourself in nice smelling soaps and products you can slip into one of the ridiculous animal printed robes. The bed is oh-so  comfortable and feels how you want a hotel bed to feel. I wouldn't say we had a view of the Empire State Building but we could see well from a certain angle. I think some of the better rooms and suites have great views. I should also mention the rooms are of a good size, which is a problem in NYC hotels, I've been to one or two where it would really be a squeeze for more than one, if even.  

    The staff was really nice and helpful from start to finish. They even humored us at 2am when I NEEDED to know where the best slice of pizza was.

    The location is really great if you are traveling on a short trip in from Penn Station. It took us 10 minutes max to get off the train and to our hotel room and since it's pretty central it was easy to use as a "home base" when bouncing all around the city.

    Unfortunately, I thought the lobby looked drab, small, and totally missed the mark for me. It looks great in the photos online but without the great professional lighting it just is too dark to see the detail. Also it didn't seem like there was much hype around the restaurant and there wasn't a bar "scene" at all.  We missed the wine hour, but I think its a great feature.

    I would recommend this hotel to virtually anyone. I preferred Ink48 if you want a low-key city trip but I think Eventi's location and comfort make it a great choice if you are planning on a fast paced vacation or business trip.

    Love this hotel! I have aways preferred this area because it is close to Macy's, Madison Square Garden and the odds and ends from street vendors on Broadway but the hotels were always limited.

    Thank goodness Eventi came along ! We have tried the Hilton around the block and it's pretty nice, but the Eventi feels like New York. It's super modern, and the rooms are typically small. (Welcome to NY!lol)

    There is a bar on the second floor (if my memory serves correctly) and it is awesome. The decor is beautiful, and there is an outdoor television on the wall of the building next door that shows clearly through the large windows. Downside: bar does not open until 5pm.

    The front desk staff was nice, but reading previous reviews I'm a little salty because I didn't get an upgrade offer ! Lol

    Overall, a very nice and cool place to stay while in the city. I do not remember seeing a doorman, and if there is one --he wasn't around or this would be 5 stars easy!!!

    Absolutely loved this hotel! Ive always heard great things about the Kimpton brand and they truly delivered! From an early check in,
    Room upgrade to a free bottle of champagne for my boyfriend and I. The rooms are very clean and modern. It has a very cozy feel to it. I actually felt like we were at home.  Im looking forward to being apart of their rewards program and visiting more Kimpton hotels!

    Four and a half stars. Good last minute deals. Front desk staff and housekeeping were both very earnest and friendly, props to Andrew for assisting us with our reservation change. Found a minor stain on the bedsheet. Bed was comfortable with four plush pillows, towels were adequately fluffy, moderately sized television and minibar options, modern lighting, comfy chair in the corner to read in, no vanity. View was decent from our king deluxe room, and there was a pretty nice gym and lounge area downstairs. Loved the yoga mat in the closet, and padded hangers. Windows open partway without a screen, but it's hard to keep them open on windier days. Shower modes were a little finicky and I'm not a fan of the semi-open shower format, but temperature and pressure were fine. Wi-fi was easy enough to connect to, and good enough to stream Netflix on. They were kind enough to hold our stuff between checkout and departure from city, too. Our schedule unfortunately ended up being too busy for wine hour, but we loved the daytime detox water and would absolutely stay here again.

    I was very interested in staying at this hotel. I loved the pictures online and it looked like an awesome place to stay. However I am not one to book something without talking to someone first just to make sure I am booking the room that best fits my needs.

    I called the hotel and inquired about the Premier Suite and the gentleman that answered the phone told me that "all of the information is listed online and you can book from the website." and promptly hung up on me.

    My trip isn't until September so if you guys have any suggestions on where to stay I would definitely appreciate it. This hotel however probably won't be our choice.

    Spent last Valentine's Day and night here with my ex and had a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, modern and trendy. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. Our hotel room was I believe on the 14th floor with floor to ceiling windows of an AMAZING VIEW of the Empire State Building and city. Anything we had asked for from the front desk arrived right away. The bed was the best and comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in, the bathroom was gorgeous, shower was great. We ordered breakfast for the morning and it was exquisite. I literally can't say anything bad about this hotel. Definitely worth 5stars and definitely worth the money.

    I really enjoyed my six night stay at Eventi!

    The entire team was very friendly throughout my visit. At check in, the front desk agent upgraded me to a corner room!

    The lobby is classy and comfortable. Dining and drinks are available at the bar in the lobby (also has an outdoor patio). They are remodeling some of their other restaurants, but there was a Portuguese style one I did not try.

    Breakfast was tasty on the second floor patio. Great ambiance and service!

    My room was clean, modern, and comfortable. There were plenty of outlets, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was classy with a full marble surround. Cool rain shower too!

    Housekeeping was prompt and professional. I left at different times of the morning each day, and I always returned to a clean room.

    The 24 hour gym available on the fifth floor was great as well!

    A couple of tips-- the shower floor tiles are yellow, but housekeeping informed me it is normal. Elevators can be a little slow at peak times going up from the lobby. Lastly, the water temperature turns from very cool to very hot quickly, so make sure you adjust it properly before using the sink or shower!

    I loved this hotel.
    Modern, sleek, comfortable.
    Tons of natural light in coming through huge windows overlooking 6th Ave.
    The area of town isn't my favorite just because it's crawling with tourists but the hotel was a safe haven.
    Modern and classy lobby and quick elevators. Room key is required to access your floor which made me feel very safe as a female staying alone.
    I was in a King deluxe and it was huge in comparison to other NYC hotels. I was on the 7th floor and I had little noise coming in my room. You can tell the hotel was recently renovated. The carpet is comfortable and plus, the bedding is thick, warm, and new. The AC was in perfect condition and controlled easily. Lots of great fixtures and nice furnishings.
    The bathroom was sleek, pretty, and huge. Tons of counter space and I'm always a huge fan of the CO Bigelow products.
    The work out facility was great and they had free weights, machines, yoga mats, medicine balls, towels, and head sets in case you forget yours. It was clean and well stocked.
    The front desk was friendly and fun but I received no help from the valets when I needed help carrying my bags or when I needed a cab. As a small (5ft) female, I need help hailing a cab sometimes....would have been helpful.

    Spent two nights at the Eventi during a recent weekend trip to NYC, and I loved it! What a cool, classy hotel this is. Hubby and I scored a corner room with floor to ceiling windows that flooded the room with plenty of light. The room was cool, shic, & modern - everything from the furnishings, to the wall decor, to the fixtures and closet doors, was there with an eye toward great design. The bed was very comfortable, we slept like babies. And don't even get me started on the bathroom - it was a luxurious marbled space, with a large walk-in shower with a rainshower. The staff at the front desk were super friendly. Best of all, I got an unbelievable deal given the location and quality of this hotel.

    I only have a single minor complaint - it was really hard to get the water temperature just right, it would go from too cold to too hot very quickly. Others have commented on this in their reviews as well, so I assume this is not something that can be easily fixed.
