Had a great first experience with Quikbook.com .  I apprehensively booked one of their "Secret Sale" hotels, where they don't tell you the name of the hotel until after you book. I ended up getting a room at an awesome 4 star hotel in Chicago, and I paid about $100 less than the rate the hotel had given me over the phone. Cool. It did, however, take more than 24 hours after I booked to get my confirmation number, but when I called Quikbook to inquire about my reservation, they were very helpful.  Overall, this was a great experience and I will definitely use Quikbook again.

Note to the Wary: When you make a reservation through this site, they do not give anything but your credit card number to the hotel where you are making a reservation. If you would like to avoid possibly being charged for a complete stranger's vacation(s), find another site. If this does happen, this company will also make no attempts to fix the mistake, screen your calls, waste your time when you can get them on the phone with confusing information about what's even going on, accuse you of harassing them, and then proceed to harass you. (Nope, *still* no halfway decent apology.)

If you do like the sound of this, have fun with that.

Was in NY early last week when the UN conference was on. All hotels were very expensive and mostly booked out. I had a 2 night reservation at Hotel Americano through Quikbook, which I had QB's and the hotel's full confirmation for. On arrival it turns out Americano unilaterally canceled my booking. I called (Joshua?) at QB and he very quikly, not only made sure we had a hotel, but also had our second night comped by their intervention.
I have used QB for 10 years or so and just got reminded what a great company they are.

I was researching for awhile on how to get a deal in NYC.  All the prices always seemed so expensive!  I landed in a travel forum that had a topic about NYC that recommended Quikbook.com .  They have these "Secret Sales" in which they list the price and star rating of a hotel, then when you book, they give you the hotel name they placed the reservation at.   I'd guess it's these good hotels that have a few extra rooms they want to fill, whatever it takes.  Good for us!    The forum topic had a few posts that it works well, so I went for it.  I couldn't believe the price I got for a hotel right smack in Times Square... perfect for going into the city for a Broadway show, stay the night, and get back out the next day.     I thought I'd need to spend $200 or $300 for that, but it was under $200 for a four star.   The whole process was very easy... just be sure to bring the same credit card to the hotel that you used on the Quikbook website so the hotel can find you quickly.
I will use Quikbook.com again.. now I just need a good Broadway show to come along.
