Great location (especially if youre going to The Book of Mormon! right across the street!) Everything seemed new and clean (from what you can see haha). Had microwave and fridge. The free breakfast was awesome for those on a budget who just want to quickly grab something before rushing out for sightseeing (fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, normal hotel bfast buffet). The wine hour was actually a champagne hour but hey free is fine by me! We came here specifically to see The Book of Mormon musical and wait in line for standing room only tickets. The staff was VERY helpful, they told us what time the line had been starting and even offered to call us as soon as they saw people start lining up so we didn't waste our time out there. I will DEFINITELY stay here again! Oh! and they had a TV in the bathroom... not something I specifically look for in a hotel but hey it was cool to say it had it (we were in a queen deluxe room btw)

This is a wonderful hotel in the theater district.  If you are in NYC to see some shows definitely stay here (The Book of Mormon is playing across the street).  The staff is very friendly and the location is fantastic.  Each room has free wifi and includes a continental breakfast.  They also have a wine and cheese hour for the guests!

The Pearl Hotel is a fantastic location. We went to NYC to see The Book of Mormon & as stated by others this hotel is directly across the street. Our room was spacious, immaculate & beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a lovely soaking tub and tv.  We found  the staff to be outstanding. Everyone was attentive without being intrusive. A month after our visit I am still missing the feather pillows at the hotel, I had absolutely the best nights sleep I have ever experienced at a hotel!   My husband and I loved the complimentary wine and cheese gathering as well as the complimentary breakfast which offered a wide range of selections. We drove into the city and the valet parking proved to be a good value. We were able to leave our car the following day while we did some sightseeing and the front desk also stored our bags for us so we could run around the city. If you are going to NYC to be any where in the vicinity of Time Square I would highly recommend The Pearl as the place to stay.

Based on the previous reviews, my family (2 adults, 2 kids) took a chance and booked a night at the Pearl for a brief sightseeing trip to NYC. I am so glad we did, because the hotel room, staff and location could not have been better. Despite arriving in the early morning, the hotel was able to check us in, give us our room AND offer us the free breakfast that was still being offered on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious (by New York standards) and immaculately clean.

Please note, this hotel is not for those looking for a hip lobby scene, full-service restaurant, or full business center. However, the 24 hour gym, free happy hour and complimentary wi-fi put the Pearl in a category of it's own - a hybrid between boutique, luxury and traditional hotel. We will definitely be back, and hopefully for a longer stay!

My wife and I stayed at The Pearl Hotel while in town to see The Book of Mormon on a recent Saturday night. Having the musical directly across the street was very convenient, but its location to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and many other midtown attractions was excellent. The staff is very pleasant and genuinely wanted to make our stay enjoyable. They provided a complimentary room upgrade and because it was my birthday I found a bottle of champagne with two glasses and a card in our room upon arrival. The hotel was clean and our room (superior double queen suite) was spacious (at least for NYC). I loved the shower in the bathroom which had a waterfall like shower head mounted high in the center and a spray wand that could be turned or on off.
They have free wi-fi, a continental breakfast, and a wine and cheese hour all included with the price of the room. I certainly recommend staying here.

We stayed here Easter weekend and it was our first time to NY.  We had a blast!! The hotel was in a perfect location!  Times Square, Broadway, subway, food, and everything else was just steps away! This place was extremely clean and the staff was extremely helpful and nice. We will definately be back!! I just hope they don't get too many good ratings and the prices sky rocket!!! Loved it!!  Oh and breakfast was great too!!

I highly recommend The Pearl Hotel! It was so clean & well appointed with beautiful decor and great details. We had the double queen (super comfy bed & pillow) with separate sitting area. I would have stayed there longer if I could, especially with the luxe shower and bath! Overall cool vibe and friendly staff. Awesome place!

The Pearl is one of the newer boutique hotels in New York.  The location can't be beat - it's on 49th in the 200 block so it's off the beaten path from the more noisier streets, but close to everything. Fabulous modern and clean rooms.  One of the only places that had enough room for 4 (2 parents/2kids) in a King suite that didn't gouge us.  Free wi-fi.  Staff was very  very attentive.  They do not have an onsite restaurant, but it's New York and you can get anything delivered.  They do have a menu in their hotel guide for places that they made arrangements with as far as "room service".   They also have a complimentary continental breakfast and Happy Hour.  Their own restaurant is under construction.  Bathrooms were awesome! Rain shower heads, flat screen (which the girls thought was cool), nice robes.   We will definitely be staying again.

Great hotel. Housekeeping needs to be more thorough. They consistently wiped out the glasses with a towel and did not replace the tissue box, just stuffed a few more in the box each day, so we ran out daily. That's my only complaint. Perfect location. Excellent staff save for housekeeping. Concierge was great in securing tickets for shows. Doormen courteous and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Wow! I am currently staying here. Having to spend a lot of time in New York Hotels makes me a little jaded. But this place is not a Pearl, it is a diamond!
Perfect location for tourists wanting to be close to Times Square, perfect location for business people as the subway is a block away. There is a fantastic grocery store a half a block away.
I have had 4 interactions with the staff, couldn't figure out the TV, needed an umbrella, wanted some ice...I can be a demanding b#x%# Each and every time they were beyond courteous and kind. They ALWAYS remembered my name as I walked by the desk, including the doorman----How do they do that?
The public areas are designed PERFECTLY (I'm an Interior Designer by trade). Nicely lit, beautiful carpets and wall coverings. Every detail had been carefully constructed. Even the doors are lovely!
The rooms are beyond fantastic. Nice linens, excellent mattress, ample closet space (they even put the safe at eye level-than you God) everything is covered in granite. The lighting is perfect and everything is on dimmers. Even the coffee maker isn't the crap you usually get, it's one of those single cup brewers with the little foil topped cups...
Bathroom is typically sized, similar to a phone booth. BUT they are 1st class! The shower is huge, with state of the art hardware. Gratefully it is glass enclosed instead of those skanky shower curtains. The tiles are brilliantly selected with terrific lotions and potions.
The place is quiet, quiet, quiet. Even the heating and air conditioning unit is silent, not like those things that sound like a jet airplane taking off that keep me from sleeping.
Price-it was the cheapest thing on the market in the area...I doubt it will be for long as I have paid LOTS more for LOTS less.
My search for the perfect NY hotel is over, Dang, I have to leave in 2 days!

This brand new boutique hotel in the heart of the theatre district (two blocks from time square) was the perfect location for our first trip to New York. Not knowing the area very well, the location of The Pearl was central to everything that we needed. We stayed there soon after they had opened so while I've given the hotel a 4 star rating it could have easily been a 5  had the reception area been finished.

The room was nicely appointed and decorated with internet access and all of the essentials. The coffee machine was also a nice touch. The only thing that could  have made this room better was to include a bar fridge.

The complimentary breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese platter was also very convenient and a nice addition.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Manhattan as the location alone is reason enough to choose The Pearl.

The Pearl Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel. It was awesome to have the Book of Mormon right across the street. The hotel was perfect walking distance to a conference at New World Stages. Very clean and new. The bed was incredibly comfortable, instantly fell asleep. Very attentive staff and was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early to my room. Excellent second floor meeting area and where breakfast was served. Would highly recommend staying here.

This is an excellent place to stay in NYC close enough to everything but about a block or two from the noise of times square. The staff was amazing and the room was bigger than I expected compared to most NYC rooms.  On the same block as the hotel is the play Chicago, the subway entrance and a few good resturaunts.
    I would definitely stay again.

Perfect service, beautiful accommodations, reasonable price, ideal location.  It's hard to say enough good things about The Pearl.  The staff went above and beyond providing excellent extras such as securing our luggage after checkout for a day of sightseeing and aggressively grabbing a cab for us right in the middle of the theater letting out for the evening.  Awesome!  If you are interested in seeing a show or Times Square or anywhere in mid-town, stay  at The Pearl. Actually, it's very close to the subway, so stay here for any trip to Manhattan!

Absolutely our favorite NYC hotel. We stay in NYC a few nights every Christmas and found this gem last year shortly after they opened.  Rooms are large, quiet, immaculate and staff is friendly and professional. Times Square location and continental breakfast are wonderful too.  My husband and I rely on yelp reviews frequently when traveling and felt compelled to share this one with you!

We recently stayed three nights at The Pearl Hotel and could not have been happier.  The service was incredibly friendly, the room was lovely and spacious, and the continental breakfast was perfect for our needs.  The location was close to everything, yet we had no concerns with noise or congestion.  We had a Queen suite with a small sitting room and it was large enough for 4 of us comfortably.  I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, great location, right across street from Book of Mormon as has been mentioned.

All staff superb.  Top notch concierge, was able to score Friday night tickets to BOM on less than 6 hours notice and adjust reservations at Wolfgangs steakhouse in order to  accommodate.  Front desk staff friendly and helpful.  For example, we checked out of hotel but checked luggage with bell staff to roam city until late pm flight.  Upon return, staff recognized me, remembered that I had checked a bag, and notified bellman. I ducked back down  hallway to use key access toilet, but had checked out and key didnt work.  No problem, she had figured out the whole situation and was already coming to open the door with staff key.  Service is about anticipating and accommodating and the Pearl "gets it."

Housekeeping was a little slow, no housekeping service at 3 pm, Called for towels and they came an hour later.  No big deal.

Compares favorably to the Muse hotel.

This is a cute boutique hotel. It just opened in October.

    Amenities: This hotel was awesome.
    24hr Gym.
Continental Breakfast from 7:00-10:30 am, as well as coffee maker in the room. With microwave, refrigerator and safe.
But, BEST amenity of all...Complimentary HAPPY HOUR from 4-5pm!

Location: The hotel is 2 blocks from Times Square, so just close enough to get to everything but far away from the huge crowd, as well as the noise.
It's a block away from a subway stop. The Pearl's nearest subway stations include the N, Q, and R trains at 49th Street and 7th Avenue; the 1 and 2 trains located at 50th and Broadway; and the A, C and E trains located on 8th Avenue between 49th/50th.
Their is a market store at the corner, so you can grab snacks for the room.
Of course, tons of big and local restaurants to choose from all around the hotel.

Staff/Service: I cannot rave enough about the service. The staff was great. They remember our faces & asked how our day went every time we came in. Greeting you at the door is the bell man...I couldn't believe on of the girls remember what activities we were gonna do and asked how it went?!
One of the guys gave me options of stores for shoes & came over to me at the end of the day to ask how it went & give me more suggestions..it's amazing to remember how it feels to get great customer service.

Overall, GREAT place. I would definitely come back here next time i'm in NYC.

The Pearl Hotel is located on the 49th st and Broadway, very conveniently located next to line 1: 50st and line N,Q,R: 49st subway stations.  It is also very close to the Time Square but far enough to avoid the crowd.

We stayed in deluxe king room from December 21 to 26.  The room was very clean, reasonably sized.  The bathroom was small and lacked counter space.  Even in the shower, it only had a space to put soap, and it was...challenging to place anything else on it.  One nice thing about the bathroom was it had television...

This hotel had free wifi, and the connection was very good.  I get bit skeptical when the hotel offers free wifi because of the connection, but I had no problem with it.

Friendly and helpful staff.  We had to call the front desk couple of times (didn't know how to work the in-room safe, our key card stopped working...etc.) and they always helped us with a smile.

Overall, it was an OK hotel.  Would I book this hotel again?  Maybe for the location.

OK. When was the last time a hotel called you in advance to confirm your reservation? Uh, never! Until The Pearl called us! That was the start of a beautiful stay. Our flight was 3 hours delayed, we called, they were very courteous and accommodating. The front desk, Luis, took my reservation and was very, very nice. When we checked in, there he was - greeting us by name.

The room with 2 queen beds was large, very clean, very comfortable, very quiet.

When we checked out the entire staff was pleasant, wished us a pleasant journey and a warm welcome to return.

Stayed in this hotel in July.  The location is perfect - there's a small grocery store in the corner of the street, a catholic church next door and many walking restaurants in the area.  They also have a small gym and a small resturant attached to them.  Had dinner their the first night in town - it was good, but pricey.  But I guess that is typical for NY.

The room was clean.  I had called one day to not have our room cleaned and they thought I said don't clean the room while I'm in town!  I had to tell them it was just for the 1 day.

They have continental breakfast - it was fine the first day, but then it was the same food every day after that.  We skipped their free breakfast after the 2nd day and went to a cafe a couple blocks down.

What a wonderful little hotel. The staff is so helpful, patient, and willing to do anything to ensure you have a great stay.
The rooms were clean, large(for NY standards) and had all of the wanted amenities.
It is nice when the hotel staff actually knows your name and says hi every time you walk in and bye when you leave.

I have stayed at the ritziest of the ritziest hotels in NYC and would choose this one over all of them.

Also, it is a GREAT location. It is directly across the street from "Book of Mormon" and a block or two away from Times Square.

The restaurant attached to the hotel is so, SO good.

    A sensitive hotel-sleeper's review:

    -  Exceptionally quiet in the midst of such a noisy city-island
    -  Clean and comfortable
    -  Clean, spacious bathrooms, almost as good as the Sofitel series
    -  Nice and patient peoples
    -  Breakfast provided in the second floor lounge area from 7 am to 10 am (enough to sustain you for your morning adventures)
    -  Deliciously convenient restaurant connected to the hotel
    -  Convenient little shop right next door for water, fruits, etc.
    -  Oh yeah, broadway shows across the street?
    -  Times square about 50 steps away
    -  Everything is pretty much walking distance, we walked all over
    -  Subway station on 50th St (1-Red will take you all the way to the statue of liberty area-- South Ferry station-- then if you walk north, you will pass through wall street, world trade center, etc.)
    -  If you go earlier than check-in, they will hold your bags in a safe location for you with no charge
    -  Parking garages all over the place
    -  You can extend your check out time past 12 noon if you let them know so they can recharge your swipey card
    -  Pool and fitness room
    -  Free wi-fi

In addition, I must emphasize the "nice and patient peoples" part.  It was a first for the hotel staff, as it was a first for my mom and I.  Somehow I had pushed the lock button too aggressively in the restroom and it may have never clicked out, so then my mom decides to close  the door from the outside.  Thus, we had ourselves a bathroom we were locked out of.  I'm usually pretty good about picking simple locks with a card, but this stubborn one, as I said, was a first for all of us.  Upon immediate request, a hotel staff came up to check it out and tried my tactics, however it wouldn't budge one bit.  After several tries, with the manager trying himself, we were kindly offered the room next door.  Fortunately the lock was fixed, and we were still able to have a peaceful nights sleep.  Apologies to the staff, but a big thanks for your patience and help!

Overall, my recent stay at the Pearl was very good.  The rooms and public spaces are clean, modern, and tastefully appointed.  The staff were friendly and helpful and hooked me up with a free upgrade to a room on the top floor.  The rates were reasonable for Midtown Manhattan, and lower than many of the more well-known, but older and more run-down, hotels nearby.

My chief complaint is that the free wi-fi didn't work for me at all during my stay.  Being on the top floor may have had something to do with it, but this should never happen.  We live in the Internet age -- reliable wi-fi in hotels is a must for travelers.  Also, the layout of the bathroom was weird, as the towels could be reached only if the bathroom door was closed.  And the closet space was minimal (I was able to hang two suits, two shirts, and a jacket, and that was it), though there was a separate dresser.

On balance, the positives far outweighed the negatives, but the lack of reliable wi-fi knocks my rating down a star.

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Pearl about 3 weeks ago for my 40th birthday. We did a long weekend. The hotel was great, nice, clean and comfortable. Great and very gracious staff. We didn't eat at the restaurant attached, but we did drink and the bartenders are really nice and attentive. I had a few challenges of my own, such as losing my room key every night (my own drunken fault) and I lost my drivers license at one of the clubs. The staff was so nice and tried to help me out as much as possible. On the day we checked out we called for a car to pick us up and I guess they felt so bad for me they upgraded me to a stretch limo for the same cost as the car. I highly recommend the Pearl Hotel and will definitely be staying there again.

Small, quiet, boutique hotel in the Theater District directly off Times Square.  Truly ample-sized rooms (which was surprising and refreshing for a change), tastefully designed, excellent attention and service by staff.

A small area at the 2nd floor level is designated for morning buffet-style breakfast (nothing fancy) and free evening wine hour (again nothing fancy).  There isn't a lot of room for eating, literally just small lounge chairs and low tables, which were fine.  The atmosphere was casual, semi-intimate and quiet.

There is a tiny exercise room, no pool, no decks or patios that I saw, no restaurant or bar on the premises, but plenty in the neighborhood.

They have a tremendous variety of room types, all with different amenities, so make sure to ask if you're looking for something specific in your room.  Philosophy products.  Free wi-fi.

Only reason for 4 stars is one would expect more amenities at this price point, but the accommodating and always friendly staff try to make up for that.  Again, can't emphasize how incredibly quiet and relaxing it was.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights after a disastrous stay at another hotel, and I so wish we'd been at The Pearl the whole time. We had a spacious room that was well-appointed, very clean, and comfortable with a nice balcony. It was quiet and we slept very well. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We also ate at the E & E Grill (connected to the hotel) one rainy evening, and both had great meals. The service there too was attentive. We appreciated the continental breakfast and wished we could have made the complimentary wine & cheese hour. The only downside was that their on-demand TV service was down and since I am pregnant we were not out late at night and wanted to kick back with a movie in our room. Other than that, we were very happy. I highly recommend this place!

This was a terrific place to stay right in the middle of the Theater District - right across the street from the O'Neill Theater.  The room was nicely decorated and clean.  Staff was helpful and friendly.  Not cheap, but not expensive when compared to some of the name hotels in NYC.  Add free wifi and a continental breakfast, and it's a pretty decent deal for a very nice room.  Definitely will stay there again when going to the Theater.

This was the perfect hotel for me to stay at and believe me Pearl, I will be back.
The service was wonderful.  The doormen were so pleasant.  The front desk staff - for the most part- was super nice.  Some were not but it is not even worth taking a rating off or talking about.

Continental breakfast was great for a snack before I went out to really eat the great NYC food.

Gym is available but I didn't use or see.  Wine and cheese hour sounded great but I didn't go.

The room was wonderful.  I could hear the elevator but it didn't stop me from sleeping at all.  The rooms were clean, bed comfortable. Housekeeping great.  Philosophy products- which I love- were icing on the cake.

    Free wi-fi!

Thanks Pearl.  I will be back!

Good choice for theatre goers.  We have stayed here twice over the last  couple years to see Book of Mormon and Wicked, both theaters are super close, the Gershwin is one block and the Book of Mormon plays right across the street.  If you stay here to see the BoM, pre-order your intermission drinks at the bar in the lobby and pop right over, so easy and they  will have your drinks ready.

Other than the location the hotel offers some good stuff too.  Free breakfast, lunch and wine happy hour are a bonus.  We were a group of ten and definitely took advantage of the wine hour, where they serve wine with an assortment of cheese and crackers and fruit.  The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable with everything you need.  Service is great, doormen are courteous and helpful (they gave us a good recommendation for dinner and got us a reservation for ten when there wasnt one available on open table).  Water, coffee and snacks are always available in the lobby.

Tip o the hat - wine hour!

Wag o the finger - some plumbing repairs happening during our visit

I recommend this hotel.  We will stay here again.

I chose this hotel based on location, really... and that's what you pay for.  The pricing on rooms here, and anywhere in the theatre district, is a bit ridiculous.
The hotel has a nice entrance and friendly staff, and it's nice that they have free water and snacks out all the time.
The room was clean and well lit, and the bed was comfortable.  We didn't like the bed frame too much because it sticks out too far, leading to leg bruises :-/
The bathroom is nice, but poorly lit for the purposes of doing make-up and whatnot.
I enjoy that they have the free breakfast and wine hour.  That's a nice thing to be offered since the price is so high for the rooms.
The only weird flub we had with the place was when the smell of marijuana started to creep into our room through the vents.  They came up to check things out, but I'm not sure if they ever found where it was coming from.
All in all... not a bad place to stay, and better than being right smack dab on Times Square.

Stayed here for 3 nights during our first trip to NY.

Upon arrival from a looooong shuttle ride from Newark, we were greeted by the doorman who got our bags (3 suitcases and a backpack) and told us to go inside while he brought them in.

Check in was easy, our request for a blue room and a higher floor was honored AND we were given an upgrade to a King room from a Queen.

The doorman took our bags up to our room and showed us around which we've never had done for us!

Our room was large and very nice.
Amenities: PHILOSOPHY!!! shampoo, conditioner, lotion, handsoap, body soap, shoe polish, shower cap.
Keurig K cup brewer with 4 kcups: wolfgang regular, decaf, and 2 types of teas I believe. There are some paper coffee cups and lids so you can take these to go.
Robes are available for use as well as umbrellas.

The bed was plush and SO comfortable! There was a desk and a tv, neither of which we used very much.

All the fixtures were modern, from the shower to the adjustable light switches.

Breakfast included many pastries, bagels, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, and some hard boiled eggs. Would love more hot items but this was definitely nice. Breakfast was available from 7am-10am.

The location was very central- just half and a block to Times Square. We walked everywhere from this hotel: Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc.

Loved loved looooved this hotel! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel is located right in the theater district, across the street from the Eugene O'Neill Theater where Book of Mormon is playing. It's a short walk from here to Times Square and Rockefeller Center as well as not too far from some west side attractions like The Daily Show and the Intrepid. The staff was extremely helpful, and they sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne and a nice card when they found out it was our anniversary. There is free continental breakfast available, standard bagels, muffins, etc. but a nice option if you're looking to avoid paying for breakfast in the city. The room was a nice size though the bathroom was a tiny bit cramped...not much space near the sink. We were on the 8th floor overlooking 49th street and the traffic noise was noticeable during the day but not at night.

Overall, a great hotel if you're staying in the city to see some shows.

The Pearl is an awesome place to stay. The location is great. The room was extremely nice, very clean and the bathroom was huge. The continental breakfast was great unless you are looking for pancakes and bacon (which we weren't). The wine and cheese hour was extremely nice too. The staff was friendly and helpful. I never opened a door into or out of the hotel once. We will be staying here for our next trip to NYC. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it.

Fabulous hotel with lovely layout. Has the great luck to be across the street - as in 10 yards - from the fantastic musical, The Book of Mormon. If you want to see the play, this is very convenient.

What a great hotel...my wife and two young daughters (10,7) spent a few days in NYC, and this was a top-notch place to stay.  A couple blocks north of the true Times Square chaos, but close enough to be right near the thick of things...convenient subway stations, restaurants, even a good grocery store at the end of the block.  Can't beat the location.

The room (queen suite) was super-comfortable and a good size (not always easy in NYC).  There are even some little things that as a frequent traveler, I've come to really value:
-a thermostat that WORKS and doesn't just keep the air constantly running and regulated
    -coffee and snacks always available
    -free wireless (!)
-outlets you don't have to hunt down to recharge phones and such
-quiet...you can't hear the streets outside, even though we were facing the Book Of Mormon's theatre
...and the big winner for a family of four - a continental breakfast every day as part of the tab.  That's probably $40-$50 each day that we saved.

We also had great service - my girls wanted flatter pillows and the front desk tracked down two for us; they helped arrange airport transportation and never too busy to help.

Can't recommend this hotel enough...I don't do Yelp that much but felt compelled to share our experience...this was a great one.

Great hotel. I had to fly out to NY and leave back to LA less than 24 hrs later and they extended my check out time an hour past the maximum allowed so I wouldnt be stranded. And afterward, they stored my bags so they were safe so that I could go around the city until I had to leave for the airport...at which point they had a town car waiting for me. Very awesome service and all of it was done with a smile.

A precious gem of a midtown hotel that lives up to its name!

We ended up at The Pearl because of a happy mistake, when our original hotel had overbooked guests during our most recent overnight in NYC. Upon check-in, they informed us that they'd made arrangements for us to stay instead at their sister hotel a few blocks away: The Pearl. Okaaayyy...would this be delightful, or a disaster?

We left hotel #1 with some trepidation (where were they sending us? Would it be scary, crummy, bed-buggy?). But on arrival, we realized immediately: this was one mighty fine UPGRADE. The Pearl is a boutique hotel situated smack in the heart of the theater district, and a stone's throw from Times Square. The front desk staff was ever-smiling, endlessly polite and helpful, and assured us that our accommodations would be to our satisfaction.  They absolutely were.

We took the elevator up to our suite on the eleventh floor, and entered a room that was stylishly appointed in grey and plum colors, modern, comfortable--and so much more civilized than our original hotel. A heavy curtain divided the sitting area from the bedroom. While the hotel is situated squarely in the middle of Gotham's touristy epicenter, I can honestly say that our room was a quiet sanctuary; whether that is true of the entire property or because we were eleven floors up from the hubbub, I can't say, but I was really pleased at the lack of noise.

The bathroom had three different lights that could be adjusted to varying levels of brightness -- perfect for graceful gazelles like me, who tend to suffer from stubbed toes and bruised shins when walking around overnight in an unfamiliar place. Even nicer: the toiletries are Philosophy products: a girl could get used to this.

But wait, there's more. I think we can all get behind a place that has a complimentary happy hour every afternoon from 4-5pm.  If the wine is flowing freely, I am one happy camper. There is also a free breakfast the next morning that's stocked with bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, fresh eggs and all the coffee and tea you can drink.

I'll confess, though I set foot in the gym under the auspices of "checking it out before I work out...", I didn't actually exercise there. But I can report that it is tidy, and the equipment is current. Also, more free food: apples fill a basket beside the entrance, a really nice added touch. At the far end of the gym, a sliding glass door opens up to a pretty, tranquil wooden deck. Had I behaved myself better while on vacation, that little oasis would have been the perfect spot to towel off and catch some early morning sunshine with a bottle of water, before heading out on to the mean streets. (True to form, I slept off my cocktails upstairs, instead...)

In short, the only thing that I didn't like about my stay at The Pearl was that it only lasted one night. I could definitely have used one more sleepover in that gloriously comfortable, imminently dream-worthy bed. I can only hope that our good old faithful hotel, located seven blocks further downtown in Hell's Kitchen, serves up this "consolation prize" to us again. Can lightning strike twice - can it, please?

What a wonderful boutique hotel.  We had our taxi met by one of the doormen that are on point at the door at all times.  After paying the cabbie, we were asked to go to the desk while he took care of our bags.  By the time we verified our reservation and signed in to get our keys, the elevator was called and our doorman asked us to go up alone and he would meet us.  We opened the door onto a great, modern, clean functional room.  If you know anything about NYC hotel rooms, you know they are the size of a cell.  This wasn't (we had the standard queen room - the smallest offered).  Desk, cable tv (we wish they offered HBO), tv in the bathroom too, small closet, safe (good enough for valuables and our i-pad, camera, etc.), small bathroom (that offers a tub, shower, and hand-held shower - yay), Philosophy products (which my wife scarfed), very comfortable bed, a clock that plays an apple appliance and is bright enough to be a night light, perfect adjustable lighting everywhere in the room, Kuerig and k-cups for your free use, a small fridge, a small micro wave, ... Did I say it was functional?  Yes, all this, and more and it never felt cramped.  Oh, one more thing...it is a quiet room.  The windows must be triple thick.  We didn't know it was pouring outside until we looked, and boy was it.  Didn't hear a thing.
They have a nice selection for the breakfast in the morning, and the wine and cheese hour was satisfying.  Nothing really bad to say about these, but nothing to blow your sox off.  They were good, and enjoyable.  Good way to start and end your day in the Big Apple.
Right across the street (literally) is "The Book of Mormon"!  Two doors down is the bar Lillie's (see my 5 star review of that place).  5 blocks and you are standing in Times Square.  5 blocks the other way and you are in MOMA.  4 blocks straight across and there is Rockefeller Plaza.  In other words this hotel, this jewel or PEARL of a hotel, is in the center of all the action.
The staff was so helpful (always asking us if we needed anything, or if they could make our stay better), the gym was small but nicely appointed for a quick (not heavy) workout, and the business center was VERY helpful for printing boarding passes and checking flight information on their very own airline reader board.
Are you getting it?  This is the place you want to stay for a wonderful, mid-town NYC experience.
    We will be back.

Loved the hotel and location.  Nicely appointed and clean.  Shower was awesome, once I figured it out.  All hotel employees were professional, friendly and courteous.  Valet parking was convenient but not cheap...but then nothing is cheap in NYC.  Only thing that I would like is a comfortable chair in the room in which to sit.  Sitting on the bed is not great for my back.

Clean and comfortable - convenient for broadway. Nice breakfast room. You will never be disappointed here. The restaurant attached (I forget the name ) is surprisingly good.   I have stayed here several times often ignoring the restaurant as it didn't look like anything special and I had not heard of it before.  Short for time I tried it and wow! Great filet!  The service was a little rude but that's one person so I can't be too hard on them.  The food was great.

From the time I walked in the door I knew a made a good choice. First, upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the doorman. We decided to valet park ($45). Check-in was a breeze, and the elevator ride to the 14th floor was quick. Our room was a nice size (queen superior) and very clean. Unfortunately the view we had was mostly rooftops.

The room had all amenities: microwave, fridge, free wi-if, bathrobes, a Keurig with a tea and coffee variety, iron/board, a TV in the bathroom and even an umbrella to use during your stay. Though we were not far from Times Square (5 minute walk) and between 2 theaters (Book of Mormon and Chicago), we didn't hear any outside noise.

The continental breakfast had something for everyone: cold cereal, juice, tea, coffee, Danishes, fresh bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. (Served 7am - 10am)

Overall I loved it and would definitely stay there again.

I just called The Pearl New York hotel, to ask about the breakfast hours. The person on the phone refused to tell me, he said that I would get that information upon check in. I told him I just needed to know when the breakfast ends, and he repeated that this information will be provided to you at check in. I pressed on, I said "why wont you just tell me?"  He said he was not permitted to give this information over the phone. I explained that my friend is a guest in the hotel and I am trying to make a schedule, and He says for the friend to call down to the front desk to ask. I cannot believe their stupidity. This is by far the most stupid thing I have ever encountered in the entire hospitality industry.

For me, in New York, this is about as good as it gets for a hotel. Pleasant people, no big crowds, no conventions to contend with and the locations is ideal making everything I want to do or that I want to see easily accessible or with walking distance.

It's also rather clean, neat, and by New York City standards. spacious, rather quiet and reasonably priced.

Excellent choice for a short term stay in NYC. The rooms are well appointed and much larger than most midtown hotel rooms, the location is fantastic - just off Broadway, so next to the hustle but without any of the accompanying noise, and the staff is friendly and excellent. Although check-in is listed at 4pm they graciously checked me in just before noon and this was altogether a very positive experience for an economical (relatively speaking, of course) overnight business stay in NYC.

Awesome staff and great hotel. Loved the wine and cheese between the hours of 4 and 5. It was my 40th birthday weekend and I had family and friends coming to NYC from all over the place. My limo that I ordered months ago didn't show up, so the staff got me two limos that could take us to the restaurant. They also got a room set up for us to wait and have drinks in. The staff really went above and beyond. Rooms clean and continental breakfast great before walking up and down NYC. This is a Pearl for sure.

This place is top notch. Cheaper in price than most other hotels within the 6 block radius of Times Square. They had all the amenities you could ask for (aside from a good view on the lower floors, but what do you expect, it's Manhattan). Other than that, the staff was completely attentive and helpful, not to mention patient (we had a rather large party of people).

    Id come back any day.

I can't say enough about this hotel. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome after being politely greeted by both bellman and front desk. I stayed for a special celebration. The staff arranged to get me in early and provided me with a special gift and a beautiful place to help celebrate a milestone.

There's something to be said about the staff alone. They went out of their way on several occasions to make sure I was happy. Very friendly, helpful, and at times even knew my name.

The concierge (forget her name) provided exceptional recommendations.

Lastly, you're a block from Times Square. Hotel neighborhood is close to the noise but quiet inside. And, right across the street were several theaters.

This place is a treasure. I hope it continues to do what it's doing in the years to come!

If you're coming to NYC, I'd highly recommend this place.  The location is convenient, staff is friendly and helpful, accommodations are clean, pleasant and comfortable and the amenities are great.  I know I'll be back.

Details: Spent four nights here the week before Christmas on a short getaway with my girlfriend.  We arrived early in the morning so no rooms were available but the more than courteous and friendly staff were happy to check our bags and offer up breakfast suggestions in the area.

After killing a few hours around the city we came back to the hotel and they promptly checked us in.  The concierge was extremely helpful in helping us plan some dinners and bars to check out as we were new to the city.  She recommended several places, one in the flat iron district that was perfect (Flat Iron lounge, I would check it out).

All of the staff, from the cleaning lady to the front desk and bellhop, were extremely helpful and very pleasant to interact with.

The room was very clean as was the bathroom.  Both the furniture and fixtures seemed brand new and the bed was comfy.

They also have a wine and cheese hour which is really nice to indulge in after walking for hours sightseeing.  Other nice amenities include: continental breakfast (cereals, pastries, etc. no hot bar), free wi-fi and 24/7 coffee & tea.

The restaurant and bar attached is also really good.  We had drinks and appetizers there twice and we very pleased.  The grilled cheese and tomato fondue was amazing.  The drinks were also really good and strong :).

I love The Pearl Hotel in New York, NY  because I was first exposed to the flagship hotel in The Pearl . and could not believe there is one in New York, NY . Throughout the past decade, I have frequented the hotel for various activities, and although I do notice a trend towards less attentive service, in general it is a great place for little indulgences. Went to the terrace today for drinks with friends - what an oasis of luxury. Service was a tad off, but overall I am happy there is The Pearl Hotel.

Very nice and large hotel. Rooms clean and spacious. Desk staff was very accommodating. Conveniently located to everywhere in New York, NY  that I needed to go. Navigating the lobby and related areas with shops, restaurants, elevators was a bit of a challenge. They could improve the signage to make that a bit easier especially since the Flower and Figueroa exits are on different floors and there are different elevator towers to learn. Overall I had a very positive experience at this hotel.

This is a great option for those of you attending a Broadway play. Otherwise, why in the heck would you want to be on a street with Chicago, Book of Mormon and a bunch of others nearby? And this close to the dreadful Times Square (I can't stand it).

Two key words: soundproof windows. Our room was right across the street from the Eugene O'Neill Theater where we saw Book of Mormon, but we couldn't hear a thing from the room. Whoever installed the soundproofing here, you weren't paid enough. Literally, we watched the stars of the show from our room sign autographs for an hour after the show.

And the space... For $380 (before taxes) we got two large beds, an entry suite and a separate bathroom on the other side of the suite. That's unheard of space in this town for the price. Few minor room issues--are there ever enough plugs for today's electronics? iPhones, iPads, Laptops, etc.? Also our shower leaked a small swimming pool but otherwise, very nice.

Breakfast buffet is fairly typical although the coffee was very good. Standard misc. bread items, juices, and peeled hard boiled eggs. There's a new one. Nice view of the lobby and street from there. Plenty of NY Times newspapers. No complaints. Nice bar attached to the lobby with restaurant. We had a drink, but didn't eat there. The staff, very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again at all. A very enjoyable, albeit, just a one night stay.

This is our second stay in the Pearl which is perfectly situated for the Broadway fans.
After a problem with our last stay we were offered an incentive to give them another shot, so we decided what the heck, and booked two nights for our last leg in the trip back home. The deluxe king suite is spacious with the bedroom containing a King size bed and probably enough room for a single size too. The lounge room had a large screen TV and again could sleep two adults if a bed could be requested. There is plenty of storage with three closets with hanging space. Both rooms we have stayed in are modern and newly renovated.
For the avid foody, the breakfast is pretty average so if you love a full breakfast you should look elsewhere. On a rainy night the doorman was more than helpful as he stood in the rain for a good 10 mins plus trying to hail us a cab for dinner. Overall a much better experience than last time and by New York standards reasonably good value.

Oh, Pearl Hotel, how I miss thee! This is, by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in, not only in NYC, but anywhere!

We were a party of three and I was the last to arrive. I was asked if we were celebrating anything and a few minutes later, there was a knock on our door and a special gift for us on the other side. This started off our stay quite nicely.

We were staying in a queen suite and all the amenities were fantastic! Bathrobes? Check! Keurig machine with a tea and coffee? Check! Umbrella for that damn rain? Check! Philosophy bathroom products? Check!

The beds were ultra-comfortable and we enjoyed the living area each day. It was a nice place to eat, relax and watch some television.

The bathroom was spacious and I loved the separate shower and bathtub. The shower was divine! The water cascades from overhead while you have the option of a hand-held wand. It was an experience I won't soon forget.

Decided to workout a few days. While small, the equipment is sufficient and the workout towels are quite nice.

The staff can make a break a business, and the employees here make the stay all the more wonderful. Every single person was kind, friendly and helpful.

Continental breakfast was so-so and we only made the wine hour one night. The area on the second floor where they hold both became hangout spot for us a few times.

Finally, the location is superb! We walked to just about every thing we wanted to go to. There is a subway stop two blocks away and another about four or five blocks.

Oh, and how can I forget about the FREE Wi-Fi throughout the hotel! And it was fast!

Stay here if you have the means (it is a bit pricey, but worth every dime!)

Our stay at the Pearl was great. It's tucked just far enough off Broadway to avoid the masses and the noise, and the location is prime.

The staff is friendly, and our check-in took less than 5 minutes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with contemporary decor. The bathrooms are a bit small, but have nice finishes and they carry Philosophy products - total win. There is a microwave, mini fridge, and a keurig which is a nice touch.

The beds aren't the most comfortable, but definitely not bad. I would recommend requesting an extra pillow, as there are only two total. Great closet space to hang your coats, and they include a huge umbrella in case it rains. Total blackout curtains are great for sleeping in, and although the windows aren't soundproof, it was pleasantly quiet on the 11th floor.

Other perks include free wifi, a 2nd floor lounge that serves continental breakfast every morning, and snacks in the lobby so you can grab on the go. I would definitely stay again!

The Pearl Hotel is a hidden gem downtown.

The decor is stylish without being too modern and "boutique."

The amenities are great and include free wifi-fi, mini-fridge, 24/7 coffee & tea, continental breakfast, and wine & cheese in the afternoons.

The staff is super accommodating and well trained and the hotel is beautiful and in a great location.

I spent a lot of time researching hotels in Midtown for a surprise mini-vacation to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday.  I was looking for a hotel with high reviews (I am obsessive about cleanliness), a convenient location, and a little wow factor (since we were traveling for a special occasion).  The Pearl Hotel fit the bill in every way.

Check-in/Service: We arrived in the city around 11AM by train, so we went straight to the hotel.  Our room was not available yet (not a problem, as we knew we had arrived well before the 4PM check-in time), so the hotel checked our bags and took down our phone numbers to call if the room became available early.  When we returned to the hotel later in the afternoon for check-in, we simply had to pick up our keys, and our bags were brought up to our room within minutes.  The front desk and supporting staff were all very professional and friendly during the check-in process and throughout our two-night stay.

Accommodations:  When making our online room reservations, I had requested a room on a higher floor, if possible, and we were indeed placed on the top floor.  Our Deluxe King room was immaculate - spotless, great bed and linens, wonderful bathroom (which is not often the case, even in the nicest of hotels).  Philosophy bath products were a nice touch for me, and my boyfriend loved the TV in the bathroom.  We also appreciated having a Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea options and a small fridge in room to store some extra beverages we brought back to the hotel.  Unfortunately, I was sick with a migraine for one full day of our trip and did not feel up to leaving the hotel room.  We were pretty upset that our sightseeing time was cut in half, but I have to admit - our room was a very comfortable place to be "stuck".

Location: The Hotel is located directly across from The Book of Mormon, which was beyond convenient for taking in the show, then easily stopping back to our room to unload our playbills and odds and ends before grabbing dinner.  (An aside: the show was AHHmazing, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys irreverent humor).  The Hotel was also in comfortable walking distance to restaurants, Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, museums, shopping, etc.

Value: Let me preface this by saying I live in suburban Delaware (land of no sales tax!), where things are a lot more affordable in general than in the City.  At around $500/night, our room rate was not exactly a bargain, but it seemed on-par with hotels of similar caliber and location, and again, this was a special occasion deserving of a little splurging.  That being said, for $400-$500/night, the Pearl Hotel included certain amenities (free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, wine/cheese happy hour) that other nearby hotels at the same price point did not.  For me, it was definitely worth spending a little more to have that special 'boutique' experience that you just don't get at a chain hotel.

Overall, we had a great hotel experience and would definitely consider coming back to the Pearl next time we're in the area to see a show or take in the sights.

We just stayed for 5 nights at the Pearl at it was great! The service was friendly and front desk staff very helpful with recommendations and information. The room was spacious, clean and updated with good amenities (robe, philosophy products etc.). The lounge area stocked snacks and tea/coffee 24/7 so we could stop and enjoy a break any time. The location was also perfect being near the subway, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, etc. We walked to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if I go back!

The key thing about this place is its location. It is so close to Times Square and all that has to offer: shows, restaurants, bars, shops, bus tours etc. It's called a boutique hotel but in the UK I would just refer to it as a normal hotel as it's not that small. I guess in the US it probably is a small hotel with only 14 floors!

The room was good, more spacious than I was expecting as lots of reviews I'd read had warned about the size of hotel rooms in NYC. It was more functional than luxury but I certainly wouldn't class the accommodation as budget style. The decoration was nice, there was quite a few extras like a TV in the bathroom, a good sized fridge and a microwave.

The staff were courteous and helpful when asked. The free continental breakfast had more on offer that I expected but we still ate out as we enjoy experiencing an American breakfast. However to give you a guide, there was a selection of pastries, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, choice of teas and coffee. We tried the complimentary cheese and wine on one day and it was good, there were crackers, fruit/veg with some dip. It was a nice way to chill out for a little while and get a second wind before more shopping and going out for your evening meal.

We used the gym once (I know, I think we even amazed ourselves) and while small it had enough machines in for us, with a few treadmills, a bike machine and a couple of others. The temperature in the room was set by a thermostat we couldn't alter but you can open the door or window to outside when you need to cool down. There's cold water, apples and hand towel/face cloths for you to use. We didn't quite work out how to use the TVs attached to the treadmills (we usually run on the streets so it was all new to us and it wasn't easy to do while running) but as far as we could work out they seemed pretty good machines.

I adore this little hotel! Continental breakfast was provided and the bagels were super tasty! The customer service was great and the location was even better! Close to subway stations and Times Square yet quiet enough for good nights sleep.

The orange flavored water in lobby accompanied by snacks were a nice touch as well.

Amazing stay for our family of four! I chose The Pearl based on its great reviews, and it did not disappoint! The room was a good size, especially for NY. We were all able to unpack our suitcases for the week and store them in the closet. The decor was modern and warm, and the room had little fantastic little touches that made it stand out. Flat screen TV in the bathroom, extra hand held shower wand, Philosophy bath products, lights on dimmer switches, microwave and refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable, and even though our room looked out over a busy street, it was very quiet. Location was very convenient to the subway and Times Square.

The morning breakfast was perfect before heading out each morning, (especially with kids) coffee, juice, cold cereals, oatmeal, fruit, breads and pastries were included, and kept well stocked. Especially nice, since the weather was very cold, was the 24hour beverage/snack station. We could always leave the hotel or come back to hot chocolate, tea and coffee.

Every member of the staff was extremely cordial and helpful. Highly recommend The Pearl!
