I stayed at Reen's every other weekend for two years while getting my MBA at the University of Rochester.  My husband and I stay there about once a month or so whenever we come up to Rochester.  Reen is great!  Staying with her is like staying with your favorite aunt!  Her house is an amazing Rochester four square located north of downtown in the Maplewood neighborhood.  It was built sometime at the turn of the century which means it has lots of great little architectural details like pocket doors, leaded glass, and parquet floors in the living room & dining room.  There are three bedrooms upstairs and a shared bathroom which might turn some people off but I've never found it to be an issue.  (When it's busy, Reen lets folks use her bathroom upstairs in the finished attic.)  The bathroom has a gorgeous claw-foot tub and original huge pedestal sink.  The beds are super comfy and each room has its own unique feature.  My favorite is Shannon's room which includes a door to the sleeping porch behind the house!  In the summer, you can open up all the windows to catch the breeze from three directions and take a nap on the day bed.  Reen also makes a tasty breakfast which she sometimes serves on the large front porch when the weather is nice.  All this and yet her rates are totally reasonable: $70 for one person/ $90 for two people. This is definitely a home away from home for me. I love Reen's!

This is a reasonably priced (starting at $70), clean, well-managed bed and breakfast housed in a home built in 1910.

Reen, the owner, is sweet and polite, a great conversationalist, and a great cook. I highly recommend her B&B for the location, the food, the conversation, and her wealth of information on great restaurants and places to tour.

While visiting the area, I recommend the following sites: George Eastman House (Home of Kodak's founder, Museum, film archive, and research center); Sacred Heart Cathedral (Roman Catholic, Rochester Diocese); High Falls (man-made waterfall, Rochester); St. Padre Pio Shrine (Rochester); and Lockport Cave Boat tour (Lockport, NY); and, Niagara Falls.

My son and I traveled to Rochester to look at colleges, and stayed at Reen's on a friend's recommendation. We had an excellent stay! Reen was warm and welcoming, her house was comfortable and had all the amenities a much more expensive hotel would have--WIFI, TV, etc. Excellent rates. Reen's breakfast was superb. Location so convenient--close to both downtown and the Lake, as well as major highways. On-street parking right in front of the house or in driveway. Lovely neighborhood. We had a room with 2 beds and a private 1/2 bath. After a long day looking at colleges, it was so nice to come "home"--that's really what it felt like--and relax. As luck would have it, our car broke down and we had to stay in Rochester an extra day. Reen was very accommodating and had room for us for the additional day. If my son ends up attending Univ or Rochester or RIT, I will definitely stay at Reen's Bed and Breakfast each time I visit for the next 4 years!!!!

I hadn't been back to Rochester in years. My mother heard rave reviews about Reen's so I stayed there.
Reen is wonderful!  The house is lovely. All the benefits of a B&B with none of the drawbacks you sometimes find. Reen was flexible about my diet and my odd hours. I felt so at home there.

I can't recommend this place highly enough!!

I spent a fabulous night at Reen's with my two young children this summer. Reen was very hospitable, particular to my children. She had a bed guard that she installed, a couple chests of toys, and a bunch of interesting books.

The house is nicely decorated and comfortable, but not overflowing with nick-nacks. The breakfast was tasty and relaxed, and Reen was accommodating of our special diet.
