This place is a hidden gem.  It's quirky and the rooms are old-school, but completely cozy.  There is a tiny kitchen and dining area in each one, and they all have balconies that overlook the Rogue River.  The proprietors are amazingly friendly and accommodating, and it's pet-friendly to boot.  We make it a regular stop on our trek from Seattle to Cali every year.  Highly recommended.

We spent one night here this week and loved it!  Shabby chic done well: cute painted furniture, nice linens, sparkling clean room, and comfortable bed.   The owners are very friendly, the place is only five minutes from town, and it is easy to fall asleep when you can listen to the sounds of the river.

This was a wonderful place to stay right on the river.  It is quaint and cozy.  The owners were super sweet and willing to help with anything we needed.  Our Room (#5) was perfect for 5 adults, it had a small kitchen just perfect to make meals in and a porch perfect for sitting and eating.  A wonderful place to relax and get away from the grind of daily life in a city.  I would definitely go back here the next time I'm up in Oregon!

Such a sweet host, very hospitable.  Got us an extra quilt on a cold night.  Not fancy but quaint.  One star off because the free wi-fi didn't reach our cabin.

Wonderful owners; very helpful and friendly.  This is where it ends unfortunately.  Room had peeling paint on the ceiling, mildew all over the bathroom ceiling, bath window screen had holes so insects could easily get in and.. 3 uninvited spiders as guests. A little sprucing up and they would have a great place!

After arriving in Grants Pass and not really caring to stay on hotel row we came upon this quaint riverside motel by accident much off the beaten path.  It was exactly what I had been looking for on a road trip from South Orange County to Washington.  The rooms are cabin-cozy and they have decks looking out to the Rogue River.  We decided to take a break from our travels and spend an extra night! I actually shun hotel chain like accomodations and this was such a pleasant surprise.
Thank you Kevin and family...(nice owners)

Cozy, friendly family, artsy, funky, retro, all good! This place is a step back in time to when people cared about people. This is not chain hotel where all amenities are new. This place is like staying at the old family cabin, very homey. If your looking for a classy hotel go to one. If your looking for that old-timey family feeling this is the spot. Lovin it! We'll be back!

I was raised that family always came first...and that has definitely extended to my adulthood to mean supporting family owned businesses over large corporations...and I am delightfully surprised every time! This is a MUST if you are travelling to Oregon. Just a stones throw from the "city" of Grants Pass, right on the beautiful Rogue River. It was like a movie...pulling in late, met by the owners (husband, wife, and daughter), helped into our cabin, falling asleep to the sound of crickets and birds chirping. This place is a flashback in time, nothing fancy, but clean, quaint, and completely adorable. It was one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Thank you so much to Kevin, Constance, and Sylvia for making our family trip amazing!

We got lost driving in the rainy darkness and drove a couple of miles past this place, but when we got there, after being in the car all day we were greeted warmly by the owners, the lobby was homey and softly lit and they made us feel welcome right away. They gave us a big room, with 2 little beds for the kids (in addition to a queen) and a separate bedroom and kitchenette. The whole place was cute, outfitted with kitschy vintage antiques and flea market paintings. It was clean, comfortable and the nice owner even bought us a 6 pack when he went to the store! We were glad we went out of our way to stop here.

Such a treasure in the rough.  Friendly  hosts made us feel so relaxed.  We were shown several choices of charming rooms, each had it's own personality, with decks facing the beautiful Rogue River.
We chose room number 4 next to the office because the family pet cat had settled on the settee on the deck.  The grounds are neat and of course green.
Located just a few miles from Grants Pass on quiet highway 99.

This is a very cool place to stay!! The owners are exceptionally friendly and thoughtful. The style is rustic and the charm of the style was much appreciated during our stay. The water front location was great for us as well, rapids are just below the site and provide a nice back drop of sound. We will definitely stay here again, if the rustic style fits you, this is a great place, the hospitality of the owners is not a common find!

Once again, another gem from yelpers.
My family (my wife and I, a 3yo and a 9mo old) stayed in room #7 overlooking the grassy area and the river.  Perfect for my 3yo to explore the games and chairs and bushes.  Nicest innkeeper I've ever met and great prices to boot.
If you're looking for a clean as a whistle Embassy Suites, this isn't the place for you. It's personal, funky, and genuine. Definitely be back.

I had never been to Oregon and wanted to stay by the river. After a long drive, we stopped by an adorable motel, decorated to the tee, and quite expensive. It was also by the river although you could barely see it. My husband indulged me when I said, "No, this is not what I had imagined."

Then we saw the Motel Del Rogue. It was quite rustic looking but very charming. The owner, Kevin, was extremely friendly, and allowed us to look at some rooms. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR.  Right on the Rogue River, patio under the trees, clean remodeled rooms and bathrooms. The grounds are surrounded with antiques and retro items. I love it! Another plus for me are the pet cats walking around the grounds. If we ever get back to Grants Pass, this is where we will stay.

This place is absolutely incredible! It feels like you have stepped into a whole new world being at this beautiful hotel! Your hotel room is a separate cabin, basically a mini house right on the rogue river with beautiful antique furniture decorating the place! It's amazing I would vacation in grants pass again just to stay at this hotel again! Amazing experience you won't be disappointed staying here at all

If you are looking for a five star hotel, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a unique, funky place to stay then you've found your spot. We stayed in trailer #3.

It was perfect for us - cute and retro. Retro as in orange counters in the bathroom, brown appliances in the kitchen and a cute vanity from the 60's or 70's.

The beds were comfy and clean, with the exception of the twins which were kind of like roll aways.

Great view of the river with a big bench swing that all four of us fit on.

There is definitely stuff that needs to be fixed and cleaned up around the property (kind of like how a junk drawer or spare room collects stuff over the years).  We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

The location, the size of the rooms, and most importantly the friendly and courteous family running the place- Kevin, Constance, and Sylvia.
We had a full kitchen, a separate large private room, and a nice flat screen~ not to mention the  AC unit that also acted as a fan.  We asked for a little flexibility on our checkout time- it went without question that a fair and reasonable solution would be worked out. We will be back and recommend the Del Rogue for family, friends, or if you are traveling solo.

This place is a little gem. Kevin is awesome and knows how to make you feel welcomed and right at home. Customer service is top notch here. The rooms all have their own character and very comfortable. Our room had a porch that looked out into the river and it was so relaxing to wake up each day with that view. We came with a large wedding party and it was the perfect spot for everyone to spread out and enjoy the area. We will definitely be back. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

Dont' miss out! Call ahead because they fill up fast and now I see why...

My wife and I enjoyed staying at this folksy little inn.  Right on the river and just far enough away from the main town.  The rooms are very much like a mini home, all the modern amenities with a rustic charm.

Can't say enough good things about the staff, very helpful owners, and extremely well kept place.  Enjoy the trees, river, and the peace and quiet.  You won't be disappointed.

This place is outstanding. Beautiful, unique, memorable, friendly, almost out of this world. It's folksy but hip, Americana but old world, inexpensive but retro chic. Each unit is a complete suite, and individually decorated and cared for. It's what family owned businesses can aspire to be.

If you're driving between San Francisco and Portland, it's the perfect place to stay. It's like a vacation every night you're here and it's just past half way, but in spirit--it's the best of both. Literate, even. How's that for a hotel review?

But yes, it's all that. Best hotel in the price range in town, by far. But as classic motels go, it's epic. Like a dream.

Great little funky motel. Not sure if it's what they were going for, but would fit in well on Portlandia if in Portland. We stayed in the upstairs studio with a tranquil view of the river. Would like to try out the other options as well. Seemed clean, although the carpet and some finishes could use some updating.  (Didn't feel comfortable barefoot). Owner Kevin was very friendly and resolved a minor billing issue without any issue. Parking is tough if you have a larger vehicle. Overall we'd stay again if we were in the area. They don't oversell themselves. They are what they claim to be...

We had room 6. It was in a two story building overlooking the river. The room was big and had all we needed including GOOD coffee and toaster.
The frige and micro were out on the deck.
The place was shabby chic, homey, clean and smelled good! We will return!

Definitely one of the more interesting properties I've stayed at. You will find the friendliest owner of all time here.

This property is very cute, quirky, quaint, kitschy, etc. For $135/night we stayed in #3, the largest family unit complete with a kitchen. I loved it, and found the whole place to be very comfortable, especially the sheets which were NOT the standard starchy white things found in the chain hotels.

The view of the Rogue River was great, and there were plenty of old fashioned chairs around to lounge in. Guests can meander about with alcohol or whatever, and play with the complimentary badminton set, or maybe fish the river with the complimentary poles. Also included are complimentary DVD's and books... just pick one and return it when done. You'll feel as if you're at home and free to do what you please...

The only reason I deducted a star was because of the shower. I hate to do this, but man was it bad. Worst shower I've ever had. Non-existent water pressure, a very, very old shower head, and terrible water temp fluctuation caused me to not even bother trying for another shower Saturday night. Horrible.

I would definitely come back with just the hubby and stay in one of the cabins that face the river.

Pass this one up unless you are looking for a rundown, dirty, worn out, bug infested, old motel. This place smells funky and the tap water runs brown! Everything about the place needed to be remodeled 20 years ago and it still does!
    1. The water runs brown at first and then tastes like river water.
    2. The place smells like decay.
    3. The sheets looked slept in.
    4. Lots of ants in the room and we found a big spider under the covers.
    5. The calking in the bathroom is brownish yellow from.....
    6. The furnishings wouldn't sell at a garage sale and might not be fit for a "free curb alert" on CL.
    7. The kitchen was questionable at best.
    8. The river access was over rated as was everything else in the pictures.
    9. The floors were dirty and there was food on the floor which might explain the ants.
    10. Even the parking sucked!

This is the dirtiest motel that I have ever stayed in in the states!

Prefect! So sweet. Locally owned and family operated. Really appreciated the jet tub for a hot soak. Having a back porch right over the river felt like living in a sanctuary. Did I mention dog friendly!? This motel will take any dogs for a night or two. Great little kitchen set up. Fully equipped with all the proper tools for creating culinary deliciousness. And so close to town. And they take CASH  this place really has it all!

Stayed for a night in one of the cottages facing the rogue river.  I love the rustic old school interior of our room and the mini kitchen is simply unique not to mentioned the old school fridge. Kevin is such a friendly host.  Will surely be back again!!!

This was our second trip to the Motel Del Rogue for a small artist retreat. It couldn't be better! Having a large patio overlooking the river was wonderful. Quiet, nature-filled environment, even though it's right off a main road. Rooms were comfortable and casual. Beds were quite comfortable, and the sheets were delightful. A few bugs wander in, which is to be expected in a rustic place like that--and it would have helped if we were consistent in keeping our screen doors closed! Kitchen facilities worked perfectly. Kevin, Constance, and Sylvia could not have been more welcoming and helpful. All in all, a relaxing, comfortable, and creative stay!

Lovely place right on the river.  Quaint room with in room jacuzzi.  The kitchen in it was darling and the bed was sooooo comfortable. Sweet lady in the office even gave me Epsom salts for my back to use in the jacuzzi. Wonderful family owned place and will definitely be back.
