We stayed there for 6 nights the beginning of October. Nice rooms, beds were fairly comfy, rooms a good size, nice pool, breakfast was good and free. The lounge was a bit strange. Only open until 10 pm unless the bartender felt like closing early at 8 or 9 which happened 3 of the nights we were there. That was kind of a bummer since we didn't want to drive somehwere to have a few drinks after visiting with our grandkids. The one thing that was really annoying was the night of the Pres debate the bar TV's were on the debate and the manager put it on the overhead speakers very loud. I don't go to relax in a lounge to listen to poitical stuff. The baseball playoffs were on, there were only 6 of us in the bar and some of us were watching the ball game. We had to leave it was so annoying. The East Coast is a bit different than Alaska though so I chalked it up to that. The staff were all very helpful and nice. Would recommend unless you want a 5 star expensive place. The price was higher than I wanted to pay but low for the area.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Pittsburgh. It wasn't bad. The breakfast in the morning was decent, and the pool was pretty nice, although not quite as nice as it appeared in the pictures on the website. This is a good enough place to stay if you don't mind driving a few minutes to the city.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in the middle of July 2012 in a standard room and liked it enough to live there for a month (in a suite), in August 2012. We had just moved to Pittsburgh and needed temporary housing until our apartment was available.
We didn't want to spend a ton of money on fancy corporate housing but had pretty high expectations for a place that we would call home for a whole month. This place fit the bill.
I'm a fanatic about things being clean and for the most part this place was really clean. I did smell mildew/mold in one corner of our room (I have a strong sense of smell - it didn't bother my husband at all) but nothing was visible. There was also a smell in the bathroom that I didn't like, but with the help of our wonderful housekeeper (Barb) we figured out it was one of the cleaning products and she just started using a different one in our bathroom - problem solved. Thanks Barb!
My husband was nervous at first about leaving valuables out (laptops, cameras, etc), but we soon felt really comfortable there - no problems at all.
The internet connection in both of our rooms was really annoyingly slow and spotty at first which was not going to work for us for a whole month so we complained to the manager. Within a few days they had a tech come out who resolved the problem and checked in with us personally to make sure we didn't have any future problems. Great service!
Breakfast is good, the pool is nice and if you're commuting to CMU/Pitt or downtown, this is a great location. Easy commute and the location makes it less expensive.
We did quite a bit of research for long term housing and their pricing was very competitive. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to others.

The rooms inside this hotel look nice and clean, however, the first room we were in, the air conditioning was so close to the bed that you couldn't sleep in the bed, it was so cold. Also, the room smelled and so did the hallways. This hotel houses a bunch of Indian families, especially in building 3, and they all live there permanently, which is fine in theory, however, the cooking can be smelled all throughout the hallways and goes into the rooms too. this is a hotel, the smells of neighboring rooms should not be seeping into other rooms and if it is a long term residence hotel, they should notify their customers of it.
There is also a problem with their laundry capabilities. I received fresh towels and some of them had hair on it and some of them smelled like strong cologne, which obviously didn't wash well (so they were basically someone else's hand me down towels that I received) and when I needed an extra comforter because the air conditioning was blowing directly on the bed, they didn't have anymore to provide.
They also provide breakfast, but it's a joke. The eggs don't look real, and their version of oatmeal is opening up a packet of instant oatmeal and pouring hot water over it, the hot water comes from the same filter as the coffee, so the hot water tastes like coffee, welcome to coffee tasting instant oatmeal, a new flavor created by comfort inn and suites at 160 gamma drive. They had a few bananas but they were so green, the whole time we were there, you couldn't eat them. They really shouldn't call it breakfast, that's false advertising.
also, upon arrival, the check in workers at the desk are depressed looking and don't smile or welcome you. The customer service in this place is lacking, as is the quality. Should have stayed elsewhere.

Overall, nice hotel. Food is great in the restaurant. If you are vegetarian, you have many options.
Rooms nice, and overall property is nice.
They get some comfortable beds, they will be a 4-4.5.
A big plus is the snack area adjacent to the front desk. I don't carry cash often, nice to get some water and room charge it

Needed a place to stay visiting my mother. Brought the kids and this place was just right. A little nervous not staying at a "newer" Comfort Suites or other "Suites" hotel. But Comfort Inn was a good choice for the price.

Clean well equipped rooms with even a little stove and fridge, decent free hotel breakfast spread, gym has several cardio machines, walking distance to RIDC business park via sidewalkless non-pedestrian friendly route (i.e. walk on the grass on side of road..) staff seem kinda distant and unfriendly.. you have temperature control in your room , which is nice.. decent sized pool. bar and restaurant open in evenings.. conveniently right off exit 10 on 28 very easy to get to downtown pittsburgh from here.

A decent hotel. Nice and clean and quiet.
The layout is confusing though. It's hard to find the lobby.

This is a clean, decent hotel in the Fox Chapel area. The amenities are actually better than I normally find at other 3 star hotels (e.g., decent fitness room, pool). I usually am disappointed by the fitness rooms at other hotels like this one. But the fitness room in this hotel has 3 treadmills, 2 cross trainers and 2 bikes (including a recombinant bike, which is why I like to ride). There are also several exercise balls and a multi-use lifting machine. I got an OK work-out.
Our room was comfortable; the bed and pillows allowed my husband and I to sleep well. Hotel has free wi-fi...nice! There is a microwave in the room. The shower had great water pressure; the only thing that wasn't "good" was the bathroom faucet; the flow from the faucet was weak & the position of the faucet over the sink made it difficult to rinse my toothbrush. Another thing that I didn't like was that the heating / cooling vent was one of those old fashioned wall units...it was loud (although efficient). I don't like "white noise" when I sleep, so I put in earplugs and slept well.
One final suggestion if you want easy access to the pool and workout room, and breakfast room, ask to be located in the "Door 1" area. The hotel is a LONG building...there are 8 doors.

The positive reviews are woefully misleading. There's a lot you should know about this place. (I stayed in 2 different rooms; I encountered the same issues in both.)
Noise: Highway 28 wraps around most of this large 2-story hotel. The traffic noise is always audible but especially bad between 5 and 8 a.m. It was nearly impossible to sleep through it.
Cleanliness: This was the first hotel room I've ever felt compelled to clean myself after checking in. There was dust on all of the lamps and some of the dressers. I didn't dare touch the ominous stains on the bed-skirt and couches. It wasn't uncommon to find stray hairs (not mine) on the linens. In one room, the shelves inside the mini fridge were covered in sticky, red syrup or soda.
Bed size: I started in a double room. The beds (full) were extremely small. Two people would have difficulty sharing. When a queen room became available, I was disappointed to see the single bed was no larger than the double.
Most of the rooms do not have the kitchenette mentioned in other reviews.
Also, while the hallways and lobby have been renovated, the rooms have NOT. With the exception of the bathroom vanity, everything looks about 30 years old.
This is not one of the nicer, newer Comfort Inns you may hear about.
I will say that the breakfast was decent for this type of chain. The biscuits and gravy were good.
Also, the staff is fairly amiable and helpful. No complaints there.
Overall, at $129/night, this was NOT a good value. Hope this helps!

I have to say I'm surprised by how nice the inside of this place is compared to what it looks like on the outside. Recently my father was in the area for work and was put up here. I came to visit him and while he was busy I decided to roam about freely inside.
This use to be a Holiday Inn at one point and I can definitely say that it wasn't up to par. After CI came in and took over they put a major amount of time and effort into remodeling this place. New wallpaper, carpeting and furniture. The rooms are set up nicely. Huge bed, plenty of closet space and the bathroom, although not the most high end, were pretty spectacular. The sink is a sink you would want in your own bathroom at home. One nice little feature they have in the room is a kitchenette area. Fridge under a counter top that is half sink and half stove. Also you have a microwave if you don't want to actually use the store part.
As for other features in the hotel itself:
1. Indoor pool (basically it was an outdoor pool in a courtyard the covered with all glass so it can be used year round)
2. Outdoor bar area for warmer months (right outside the pool area)
3. Fitness room (with your basic gym equipment)
4. Market (basic items you'd find at a gas station, but didn't have time to stop there)
5. ATM in the market
6. Banquet rooms (for parties or meetings)
7. Restaurant (Joey D's in the Park, basic food fare for a bar and grill)
8. No smoking in the hotel (subject to fine if you do)
9. Ample parking
10. Free Wifi
All in all, seems like a decent place to stay in the area.

Not a bad place to stay, hotel clean and rooms are nicer than the outside looks for sure. Restaurant is quite good and recommend any of the food. It's better than most any sports bar I've been. Recommend NY strip. No noise issues with hotel and staff is pleasant. Would stay again if in the area.
