Nice airport hotel. Clean rooms.

Breakfast area is too small; staff are nice, but a little too friendly with too many questions, as were to you work, why you are there. It was a little too contrived.

Rooms are nice; A/C is too close to the bed and it blows on you all night and is not well controlled.

Just came back from 2 nights at the hotel. Just to let you know it usually is the 3 star hotel on Priceline. I bid $55 a night and paid $110 for 2 nights at the hotel (just went to Pittsburgh for a quick interview as cheap as possible). I think the price direct from the hotel is $99 a night which I couldn't afford so thank you Priceline.

I agree with so many of the comments people here left. The heater and air conditioning is right next to the bed and so fricken noisy. I thought the mattress was super hard too, and I had a hard time getting a good night's sleep on it, but keep in mind I like really soft mattresses. The room however is large, and has somewhat of a kitchen. WIFI is included too which is a huge plus.

The breakfast was very, very continental. I thought there would at least be eggs, but you have to pay for eggs. They had cereal, juice, tea, coffee, bread, and fruit. I need to save $$ so I just put up with that for breakfast.

I did not rent a car or take a cab for my stay again since I need to save $$. The hotel has a free shuttle though that will take you to wherever you need to go within 5 miles of the hotel. I used this to go to the Marriot for my interview and this saved me some money. The driver was a really friendly old man. I felt bad because he kept talking into me when I was in a rush so I ended up just saying bye and opened the door and took off. They have a separate airport shuttle which is fine too since it is included.

They have an indoor pool which was really warm. Wish I brought a bathing suit. Didn't make access of the gym, but they have a small one with a few cardio machines.

All the workers here were friendly and the guests were friendly too. The people in Pittsburgh were really nice. Too bad I would never go back because I can't live in that weather!!

The best thing about the hotel is that you are walking distance from a great sub. shop, a movie theatre, and a few restaurants that got good reviews on Yelp. You definitely won't need to rent a car if you strictly just need to be within 5 miles of the hotel.  This Californian walked in 30 degree weather in the snow just to get a sandwich!

I was hoping Southwest would have bumped me yesterday just so I could bid again on Priceline and try a different restaurant nearby LOL.

Great price courtesy of Priceline for a nice, clean, hotel with many amenities.

This hotel is truly just a basic "I need a room for tonight" place.
There is very little customer service and no extras. No room service , no added amenities.  They do tell you this part up front, so there is no fault there.
The beds are hard and the sheets are very itchy and the sheets are not soft.
When you stay for multiple nights, they don't really clean the room in between. They emptied the garbage each day during a three night stay, but did not pick up and refresh towels, did not make the bed, nothing else whatsoever. This didn't please me.
Also they are so slow. The garbage may not get taken out until after 5 pm.
There is a free airport shuttle. Just be prepared that it services a few other hotels so you will make several stops. And you have to call the night before for this shuttle. No last minute jumping on the van.
There is a free breakfast in the morning. I didn't try it but it looked ok for a quick bite. Breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juices, yogurt, fruit. It taken away at exactly 9:30 am on weekdays so don't run late!

I prefer a nicer, cleaner hotel. But if you just need a room, this will do.

I was here when it was an Amerisuites. Nice hotel. Not too far from the airport and downtown Pitt.
I was here for All Star Week in 2006 and had no problem with this hotel.
This hotel is inbetween regular hotels and extended stay hotels, so there was a stove, fridge and microwave, which helped trim food costs a lot. It also helped that there was a grocry store within walking distance.
Hotel is also near a mall or two, so while I didnt partake, you can shop if you like.

And now there's a Ditka Steakhouse nearby! I just may come back......

I got stuck here after missing my flight like a complete idiot. Ended up being just fine by me. They set me up in a really nice double for only $99. This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. REALLY friendly staff. Their fitness center is top notch, even though they were working on the pool's renovation and that certainly pissed off this mom who was checking in next to me.

I took a bath, read a book, had dinner at their restaurant. All in all a lovely evening. Oh, and they have one of those moving walkways that starts in their lobby and takes you all the way to the terminal. How awesome is that? No cabs necessary!

I had been wanting to stay at a Hyatt Place hotel ever since the semi-new chain popped up in my hometown. With a $85 deal that included breakfast I couldn't resist.

This hotel has many positives. The design is modern, rooms are chic, large and clean and include the largest flat screen TV I have ever had in a hotel room.

A few minor negatives:
Breakfast was adequate, but it would be nice if they included meat, waffles and scrambled eggs as is becoming that standard breakfast these days, rather than just continental.
The shower pressure could really use some work.
They have an indoor pool, but sadly no whirlpool.
Location is a bit odd - tucked behind a strip mall in an area there really isn't anything for tourists.

Also, the title "airport" is deceiving. This property is a short drive (10 mins or so) from the airport. They do offer a shuttle service there though which seemed good.

All in all, I really enjoyed this hotel and will def put it on my go to list when I'm in the region visiting friends again.

Being that this particular Hyatt was located in the middle of a commercial area, there wasn't much scenery but the establishment made up for it.

When i first walked in to my room, I was greeted with a spacious living room area with an L shaped couch and a big ottoman. To the right, there was a desk and a mini kitchen. There was a flat screen TV mounted to the wall that swiveled back and forth from the living room to the bedroom. It was an extremely nice setup.

Nothing fancy, but they do everything well. Bellhops are especially good. One might not expect things to be so structured, which is confusing at first, but it's certainly not their fault. Clean and decent. Phones are weird (in the dark).

Awesome location right at the airport was definitely convenient. Very nice room! Actually the entire hotel was very nice. Only downfall was that I put in for wake up call to my room and did not receive one. Glad I had additional alarms set as I needed to be up for very early flight.

This was my first stay in a Hyatt Place; I recently added Hyatt to my reward program portfolio. I booked this hotel the day of arrival - compared to most of the hotels in the area, the price was reasonable. Looking at a map of the city, it seemed equidistant from the airport and downtown, and its in an area called Robinson.

I did not rent a car this trip so I was happy to see the hotel provided complimentary shuttle service to and from PIT. When I arrived at the hotel, check-in was quick and easy - the hotel even has the self-check-in kiosks available. My room was decent-sized, with a sofa and living room area partially separated from the bedroom. The room had a huge flat-screen TV with all the data connection ports you could imagine. Internet service was complimentary and the connection was fast.

The hotel has a nice little cafe area in the lobby where you can buy sandwiches, salads, drinks, etc. My small turkey sandwich was a little overpriced at $8 I felt, and the chicken caesar was $7. As for the hotel's other amenities - the pool was nice but small. This hotel should not advertise that it has a "fitness center". It has two or three treadmill machines in a small drab room - not even a set of dumbbells. Breakfast in the morning is free - its your typical continental fare, with some bagels, yogurts, toast, cereal, etc.

As for the area, I think its great if you have a vehicle at your disposal. Virtually every store imaginable is in this area - there is even an IKEA across the street! Without a car, though, you are somewhat stranded at the hotel. The hotel does offer complimentary transportation within a five mile radius. Downtown is not as close as it seemed - it was a good thirty minutes in a cab that cost $25

Overall this is a nice, reasonably-priced hotel - Hyatt's answer to the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott or Hilton Garden Inn.

Front desk staff was very nice and efficient. The young lady even took me on a tour of the facility when I checked in. The rooms were large and very clean. The complementary breakfast was much much better than most hotels that I have stayed in over the last few years.

I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Pittsburgh.

Ok- so the hotel itself is great with fantastic rooms. Spotless. Great beds. Don't expect to park here unless you book the park and fly from the hyatt site.

I paid a little more to stay at this hotel because it got such great reviews, but also because I expected to be able to leave my care there LIKE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE OTHER HOTELS THAT I HAVE EVER STAYED IN NEAR THE PIT AIRPORT.
THE BAD- and this may be biased because I had a super long day on the road before this stay.
I booked through hotels.com which featured free parking and airport shuttle. The free parking is ONLY for the night you stay there. No keeping your car here while out of town unless you pick the park and fly option through the hyatt site. This was not so nicely told to me at 10pm by a snooty little red head who then just stared at my very tired road worn self as I processed...... After I stared blankly at her for a minute trying to process this, she just went back to putting the info for the room together and ignoring me.  As I just stood there, I finally asked if there was a way I could pay to park there for the week to which she replied (very well rehearsed reply by the way) that no, there was no way to change it or upgrade to add parking.
After staring for a few more seconds at the top of her head after she went immediately back to ignoring me and putting the room keys together) I asked what people who were in my situation did when they came to this hotel expecting to park, shuttle, and fly- since her answer was so clearly rehearsed I was sure it was a very common event that someone showed up in my position. She replied that I would have to drive to the airport and park (extended is $8/day she quoted without a pause) or one of the other parking areas and be shuttled over....
With very bleary eyes, I put my hand to my face and lowered my head ( I think I muttered Oh sh*# or something like that) she then pushed the room key in their packet below my face and told me where my room was and walked off.

I should be more positive and say that at least she answered my question. But I was so angry with her attitude that even when i saw the truly amazing room, I had already decided that I will not be staying here again. There are plenty of park and fly hotels with truly friendly staff.

Like a W, but cheaper, friendlier, and more economical...
I stayed at 2 hotels while in Pittsburgh.  I switched to this Hotel because I didn't have a car and it was close to the airport, but not at the airport. Operative word being NOT AT AIRPORT.

Here are the perks:
The lobby is swanky and comfortable.
The rooms are spacious and clean. Newly remodeled complete with flat screens and comfy firm beds.
They have an indoor pool and gym.
They proudly boast serving Starbucks coffee and all other fun products.    Seriously, you want a gingerbread latte, with one of those PB cookies in the display case, you got it.  Fresh, like a Starbucks in the hotel.
They have free Internet and PC room complete with printer.
They have food other than the free continental breakfast.  By food, I mean a couple of salads, appetizers, and 1 burger.
They have super friendly staff including a night manager who rocks(yup I told him about yelp) and an older gentleman who was too cute for words.
Do you see a pattern people? Pittsburgh=friendly people in hotels.
They have a free shuttle to the PIT airport.
They are within walking distance to Ditkas and the "mall."

The room was super hot when I walked in...so this was opposite from the other place I stayed at.  Find your groove, turn on the AC, and get ready to sleep!  I would highly recommend this joint and will certainly look at this chain for the future.  4.5 all the way!

Clean quiet room with great bed and excellent front desk. Hotel food is reasonable, banquet services was just okay but not great. Very convenient location straight from the airport with an easy 10 minute walk from baggage claim. Decent gym with a range of cardio machines, free weights and cable machines. I'd definitely stay there again.

This location is about 15 minutes away from the airport, but they have free shuttle service to and from the airport.  The building is set back from the road, which can be great to prevent traffic noise.  Beautiful finishes in the lobby.  Front desk staff was very helpful.  They have a card for anything you forgot that you need to borrow: high powered hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron, crib, etc.  The rooms look like they're recently refinished and very large with a sitting area separate from the sleeping area.  Everything was very clean, which is very important to me in any hotel.  Breakfast was good, sufficient for a hotel breakfast.  Shuttle service was above and beyond accommodating.

The only small compliant I have is there are no outlets next to the beds.  If you want to charge your phone while you sleep, you must have it across the room, or unplug the lamp or alarm clock.  Not a deal breaker, but inconvenient.

I was a bit annoyed that my husband booked us here, as it was a 40 minute drive to and from our actual destination near Washington, PA, but there is only one good hotel in Washington, and because of that it's pricey.

That being said, what an awesome experience we had from check-in to check-out.  The room was clean and quiet.  The front desk staff was always willing to help out with any questions or needs we had (though we aren't a very needy or demanding family).  Breakfast was way better than other places we have stayed that include breakfast in their prices.

I think that some of the reviewers were at a different hotel as there are a few Hyatts around.  One reviewer mentioned a "moving sidewalk from the hotel to the airport."  This hotel, while I'm told isn't that far from the airport, isn't really close to it either, and there was definitely no moving sidewalk to take you there.  Also someone mentioned there were no hot foods on the breakfast buffet.  Also not true as there was eggs, sausage, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, sausage gravy and biscuits every day.  I felt the need to clarify that because it doesn't seem fair for a business to be tarnished because someone can't get the place that they stayed at correct on Yelp.

Great place to stay.

For the price this place is awesome.  I had the chance of staying over here during a business trip and I have only good things to say.  The room was neat and clean decorated with a modern feel. The standard room is enormous with 2 TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room area.  Each room comes equipped with a fridge and microwave.  Free Wifi, ironing board and iron, as well as the amenities that are expected in 4 star hotel. The staff was friendly (as are most people in PA) and breakfast was amazing.  The free breakfast spread included: egg and bacon sandwiches (wrapped to go) fresh brewed coffee, fresh fruit, and oatmeal.

Bathroom rating: 4/5

We arrived after midnight and the customer service was great.  They even found us some soup and sandwiches in the kitchen.  The only problem was navigating the process of getting a rental car and then checking out with our luggage.  The signage in the whole area is a mess and we felt like we got caught in this endless loop of long-term parking hell.  Definitely check out first and take your luggage with you to the rental counter.

This is my first time staying at a Hyatt hotel and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed. I am in town on a business trip and the company I was visiting recommended I stay at this hotel and I must say that I could not be more pleased. When I first arrived at the airport I called the hotel and asked if they offered a shuttle service to bring me to the hotel and they did. During  my stay I continued to use this service as they offer to both take and pick you up from any location within 5 miles (great perk). This completely eliminated the need for my using a taxi for my entire business trip as I had a little time venture out.

Across the street from the hotel is a plethora of restaurants (including Ditkas) which are within walking distance which I would gladly walk to but since it was cold I simply used the shuttle service.  The rooms were fairly spacious with a writing desk, wifi, couch area, king size bed, coffee bar and flatscreen television with your basic popular channels .  Every morning I received a Wall Street Journal at my door and a complimentary continental breakfast was served in the lobby.

The staff at the hotel was very inviting and down-to-earth. They never made it feel like you were bothering them with requests and seemed more than happy to help. Now I don't expect every Hyatt to be like this one but if they are then they definitely have made my list of choice hotels.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to Pittsburgh and looking for a hotel in this area.

You're traveling to P'Burgh on business, and you want reasonable accommodations that has all the basic amenities, and a comfy bed? As long as you're okay staying outside of the city about 10 miles, you can save quite a few shekels, get no-hassle free parking, and stay in a very quite, clean hotel with a mini-gym and a nice heated pool.  Free WiFi too -- fast enough to run Netflix on the Kindle. Cool.
The staff are very friendly here. They genuinely make you feel welcome. There's a fairly decent free hot breakfast starting at six am. However, if you are gluten intolerant like moi, don't expect much more than fruit and a mini-yogurt. I realize this doesn't affect most people, but it's something I need to mention for my fellow Celiacs who seem to appreciate my comments. There's a small bar in the lobby for those too weary to venture out, and in the am, there is endless coffee both regular and decaf. It's very good quality coffee too (Torrefazione from Seattle, don't you know), which kind of aligns with what this hotel is trying to achieve. Nice.

Easy stop in with decent breakfast, a fair selection in their Gallery foods, shuttle pick up, and a personal shuttle that takes you to Settlers Ridge if you want to eat or shop.

I like this place. It's no Embassy Suites, but I've stayed here with my family so much that they know who I am and ask where I'm traveling to. That says something, in my book at least.

It's easy to recommend this place to travelers.

After our flight out of Pittsburgh was cancelled early Sunday afternoon and rebooked for Monday morning at 7am, we needed to find a hotel close to the airport.

We found a great deal on a room at the Hyatt on Priceline, which was originally $160.  I would not have wanted to pay full price for this, but at $80 it was a steal.  Imagine our delight to find that the hotel is attached to the airport.

Since we were car-less, we asked for a shuttle ride to a restaurant about 10 minutes away.  They gladly obliged.  There is a bar in the lobby also that is open until 1am, which was nice after getting back from dinner.  Micros from Church BrewWorks were a fairly good deal.

Rooms were nice, clean, and bed was comfy.

And in the morning it was extremely convenient to drag ourselves out of bed and walk into the airport and the security line within 5 minutes.

Stay for a night if you're flying in/out of the airport.  Don't stay here if you're hanging out in Pittsburgh for a few days- this will not be close or convenient.

My husband and I stayed here overnight before our early flight to Jamaica. Since we were traveling for our honeymoon, his parents actually paid for the hotel so I can't really comment on the price, however the hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean.

We were a little miffed because when we got there the front desk person said she wanted to upgrade our room since it was our honeymoon, but then we got to our room and it was very standard. Which is fine since we weren't expecting and upgrade, but it was just odd that they told us we would be getting some sort of upgrade, yet we still ended up in a standard room.

We got room service after we arrived and the food was delicious (expensive...but that's to be expected with room service).

The convenience of the hotel is amazing. We loved not having to walk outside at all to enter the airport. I would have given 4 stars, but unfortunately when I woke up to shower in the morning before our flight, the water was freezing and never warmed up. So no shower for me until we got to Jamaica!

Really though, it's a great, convenient place to stay if you have an early flight. Next time I stay I will give 4 stars if my shower water is warm!

Very clean. Great staff, quick to assist and very patient.

Rooms looked great, linen clean.

Asides all that, staff was great, breakfast hit the spot.

Update, check out:  Stay was great till we had to check out. Weather outside is sleeting. Everybody has to carry luggage to their car because the shuttle buses get parked under the canopy. They've been parked their our entire stay, but i didn't really think about it till I was loading in the rain/snow.  I get they need to run to the airport at times but, both vans under cover constantly?  There is plenty of parking to store the vans.

I honestly do not believe you can get a better hotel for the price and quality than the Hyatt Place.  Whenever we need to take a flight we purposely stay here the night before to avoid going through the tunnels and possibly missing our flight.

When you first enter there is a semi circle, half front desk and half bar.  There is plenty of seating if you'd like to work, grab a drink, or get some food (BTW their pizza is amazing for a hotel).  There is also a kiosk for directions and to check into your flight.  The decor is a nice with muted colors and lots of wood and glass.

The rooms are incredibly spacious with a sitting area, bedroom area, and vanity area with a sink.  The bathrooms are a bit snug to make room for all of that as you have to wedge yourself against the shower to open the door (it should be swinging out instead of in).  The beds are medium and same with the pillows.
Around the hotel there are many corporate places to dine as well as some up and coming restaurants.  The mall is about a five minute drive away.  It is about a 20 minute drive to the airport so it is close enough for shuttle service.  It is about 30-60 minutes through the tunnel depending on the time of day (rush hour) if you're considering staying here for an in town event.  Take note of the time and event when planning your commute.  The pool is comfortable but if they're renovating they will at least give you a heads up when you reserve through their hotel.

I really enjoy staying at this hotel.  If you go to any city with a Hyatt Place just stay there.  It is almost always the best option and almost every single one is the exact same it is like being in the Twilight Zone!  Enjoy!
