Definitely has the Wow factor. The hotel was constructed in April 2011, and it still has that new feeling. The decor is tasteful throughout and overall has a fresh, clean smell. Spacious hallways and the most impressive lobby I've seen with a small business center nook and three "cubicle" sitting room spaces with flat screen TVs and a place for the hot breakfast buffet. Fire pit outside with gas BBQ grill. Gym is small but fitted with good machines and free weights. Our 1 king bed room has pullout sofa bed, full fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and coffee maker. Spare blanket and pillow for pullout bed did not smell fresh like others; that should be addressed. All the kitchen appliances are stainless steel. Nice touch with the Paul Mitchell bath goodies. 46" (?) flatscreen with about 50 HD channels. Wifi works very well in my room with many wireless routers to choose from (almost one for every other room). Safe in the closet and office swivel chair is very good. $135 out the door for one night. Highly, enthusiastically recommend!

A rare Marriott property that doesn't disappoint me in multiple ways.  The services was okay, if a little stiff.  The beds are made with fitted sheets.  The rooms are immaculate.  The shower heads are tall enough for my 6 feet 4 inches to get under.  The free breakfast isn't gross.

But I can't give it 5 stars, because the WiFi, which is free, is really annoying to use on iPhones and iPads.  These devices drop their WiFi connections every time they turn off, which isn't normally a problem and saves power.  But in this hotel, you must re-select the WiFi and re-agree to T&Cs every time you push the button to use them.

Perfect hotel. The room was large and clean, the bed was super comfortable, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast was great! There was a pool, indoor and outdoor lounge, large sitting area, basketball courts, gym, and the services they offered were amazing. They'd even do your grocery shopping for you. We saved money by staying at this location rather than the Residence Inn Downtown, and were very happy with our choice. I'd definitely stay here again if we revisit Pittsburgh.

So, there are two parts of my review. I don't have any problem with the hotel. I think the room is nice and the staff is friendly. So they get full marks for that.

What ticked me was a $100 pet fee. We are traveling with a small dog and our previous experience with Residence Inn is that they either keep a small deposit or would charge us $25 per night for our pet. This hotel flat out told us that it will be $100 for our pet. I think this is outrageous. $100 pet fee and $125 for the room for 4 adults. Not coming with my pet here again.

This seemed like a fairly new Residence Inn, everything in the room looked like it was less than a year old. The rate was pretty good and it wasn't too far out of Pittsburgh and there are several places to eat/shop/etc close by. Sams Club was less than a 1/2 mile away and had cheap gas (if you're a member). The morning breakfast was pretty good, lots of variety and they kept it well stocked.

The only things really to complain about was the parking, i got back late one night and got the last spot at my end of the building. The car following me drove around a couple times looking for a spot and probably ended up going to the other end of the building to park.

The other thing, which isn't their fault, is that the PennDOT were working on the Squirrel Hill tunnels on I376, l left Pittsburgh late one night and spent probably an hour stuck in traffic for a couple miles before the tunnel. They did that with another tunnel in the area another night but for that one they completely closed eastbound, you had to take a detour.

I travel 100% of the time with my job, and this is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed at.  Extremely clean, good meals, and the staff and management always do all they can to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  If you're headed to this area, it's a no brainer to choose this hotel.

Yet another great stay at Residence Inn.  Newest decor available.  Quiet.  Safe.  Clean.  Great staff.  The gentleman who checked us in on the evening of September 29th, 2013 was everything you'd want in a hotelier: friendly, helpful, and welcoming, but not pushy.  I only wish Yelp allowed 6 stars.

In the midst of a 19 day trip an have stayed at several resorts along the way already. This is by far the best experience thus far. Nice pool, incredibly nice an accommodating staff, and great perks. I've heard of complimentary breakfasts but they also had a dinner social.

Excellent hotel, far superior.  The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly, and the front desk and management went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.  The breakfast and dinners were all good with plenty of food.  We have stayed here several times and will continue to do so when we frequent the area.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in.  The staff were very friendly and accommodating.  The front desk clerk, Bill, was always good for conversation.  The breakfasts were spot on and the overall cleanliness of the building was great.  Furthermore, its quiet at night so we could leave the windows open and hear the night sounds.  The location was excellent with the mall nearby and easy access to downtown.  I would recommend the Rivertowne Pour House, only a couple miles away, for dinner and a drink.

This hotel was a really great place to stay, but it seems that recently it's been undergoing some changes.  Namely, the breakfasts and light dinners have lost a lot of their quality. I'm guessing that they're trying to phase the dinners out completely to cut costs. It also seems they're cutting back on the lovely cooking and cleaning staffs.

Their complimentary .5mbps (yes...1/2mbp) internet is free, and high speed is 4.95/day. The high speed is only 3mpbs, which is technically FCC classified as the lowest "high" speed, but as anyone with real high speed internet knows, this is ridiculously slow!

This isn't really a "Residence" Inn. They don't have a monthly rate and as the rates increase during peak seasons, your daily rate will increase regardless of the time length that you've stayed.  It's extremely disappointing.  It's really just a hotel and soon you'll be paying a lot for an expensive, modern room with less amenities.

Don't expect the quality of, say, a Homewood Suites with this hotel.  This cannot even be compared to something like that which, for a better price, offers breakfast, 4 nights of full dinners, and has a price lock. Unfortunately this hotel is one of the newer ones in Monroeville.

Treat this Residence Inn stay as you would a hotel, not a temporary home. So disappointing!

Booked a Studio King, Sofa Bed Suite for a 3 day stay in Pittsburgh.

The Residence Inn exceeded my expectations!

      The hotel was excellent!

Staff were very helpful, the hotel was clean, quiet, bed was comfortable, the decor is new and not outdated, breakfast was delicious, plentiful and with a good variety, connecting to the wifi was a little tricky; but not too bad, the indoor pool was a great addition for my children. They absolutely loved the indoor pool and the water was very warm which was fabulous considering that it's Winter time! The location is excellent! Near the highway, which makes it very convenient and close to Monroeville Mall.

There is nothing else that you would want or need in a hotel!

I look forward to staying here in the future!
