My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and had zero issues. Pretty much what you'd expect from a Best Western: cheap, clean, and minimal features. Everyone who works here is pretty friendly. The gal at the front desk got us into a room quickly even though we were early for check in, the maintenance guy was pretty helpful, and the room cleaners were pretty awesome. We had a "do not disturb" sign on our door, but when we saw the room cleaning ladies on the sidewalk they made sure to check if we needed anything. A friend checked out a room at a comparable hotel and it was super nasty. I will write a review about it as well.

Make sure to visit the Early Bird Diner when you stay here!

Great price for our vacation! Pet-friendly! Clean, quiet, and close to the attractions without the traffic and its noises! I would stay here again!

I stayed here overnight and booked through Hotwire. (One of the "secret" 3 star hotels) and only paid 80 for just one night. Totally worth it! Close enough to drive to Charleston for the day, free easy breakfast, and we got upgraded to a suite because Hotwire said we wanted a smoking room (EWW!!!!!) and they were sold out becuase there are MULTIPLE tour buses who come here. This just means super odd old ladies and gentlemen sit with you at 8am breakfast and talk about Tennessee and how their friend made them come and she sleeps a lot. I'd stay here again, its close enough to town to make it worthwhile.

When another "high-end" B&B in the area had messed up our reservations over the first weekend of October, even after speaking with them before we started our road trip, Maria was incredibly kind to us and saved our anniversary trip.  Customer service is the most important thing to us and we will never stay anywhere else now.
Maria, thank you again for taking such good care of us and saving our anniversary!

Pretty standard for a mid-price hotel. The room was fairly inexpensive, clean, and they have a nice outdoor pool. The location was near a number of restaurants and supermarkets, and close enough to James Island and the beach area. We didn't have any problems and enjoyed out 5 night stay.

For the price it's great value. The rooms are large and maybe a little dated but not a problem. Breakfast was good and the hotel staff helpful.

For the price we really liked this hotel.  It was comfortable, quiet, the pool was great, and the breakfast was good.  Everyone was very nice, and outside of housekeeping missing a day, we had no issues and would stay here again.

The only issues we had is that our keys kept acting up and the ice machine was out of ice..  Otherwise it was clean, friendly,  heated pool, great breakfast, free parking and wifi. Pet friendly for 80lbs down

This place is a standard hotel with ample space, a pool, free breakfast, free wifi, etc.  There's also free parking and it's all for a fair price.  It's also dog friendly, fyi!

The only con is that they do not have the hottest water!!  At night, it was way too lukewarm (and I had it at the max heat!).  It was a little hotter in the daytime, but still not hot enough, sigh.

Coming off a stay at a less than desirable motel in Savannah, the friendly faces and professional attitudes of the front desk clerks were a very welcome sign that I had made a great choice booking a stay here. Of course, it was twice the price of my last motel, but that's Charleston. Things are pricey here.

The room was nice. The first thing I noticed was the plush white bedding. Soft and oh so comfortable, the bed instantly made this room worth every penny to me.

Everything was clean except the toilet, which looked like it had not been thoroughly scrubbed. There were a few signs of areas that had been missed during the standard cleaning. Nothing terrible, just enough to have me busting out my Lysol wipes for a little spot cleaning. I generally wipe down the remote, light switches, doorknobs, and phone anyway...a little O.C.D. comes out when I stay in motels.

The area by the lobby where a free continental breakfast is served was a pleasant surprise. Coffee, pastries, cereal, yogurt, was an extensive selection of goodies all served up in a little cafe-style setting.

I liked that the grounds had sort of a tropical feel to them. Not overbearing, just some palms and dense foliage surrounding the main building gave it more of a "vacation" vibe, even being right on the Savannah Highway.

It was about a 10 minute drive to the waterfront, historic district, and main touristy areas. Plantation tours are about 25 minutes away. There are several interesting local restaurants within a mile radius. I loved the Green Goat Charleston ... and The Glass Onion .... Both are less than two minutes away with excellent take-out available.

Overall, I was very pleased with The Sweetgrass and would definitely stay here again.

I don't have any earthly idea how this hotel currently has 4 stars...... I had an early meeting this morning in Charleston, and just needed a place to sleep for the night.  I checked on Yelp, and this place was close to where I was having my meeting, so I decided to stay the night........Bad idea!!!

When we arrived, there was a line at the front desk.  The lady there was polite and moved people through the line very quickly.  That's why I'm giving it the 2 stars.  She was the only thing that was good.  The guy in front of us stayed on his 3 cell phones the entire time.  Who has 3 phones?  He talked on one of them the entire time and texted with the other 2.

We got the key to our room and they sent us to the back of the hotel.  Kinda Sketchy back there at night.  We walked into our Non-Smoking Room.  Apparently it must have just been changed to a Non-Smoking Room last week.  The room still stunk.  There was a stain on the carpet.....Looked like blood to me.  Not pleasant to look at.

The ice machine was out of ice, so we had to go back to the front desk area to get more ice.  Then there was the extra guest in our room....Some kind of bug.  Might be a Stink Bug.  He wasn't real cute crawling across the bathroom vanity.

I will never stay here again, and I definitely don't recommend it.  It was a Bad Idea.  I do have pictures posted of the "Blood" and the "Bug".  I'll let you decide exactly what it is.

Dog Friendly.
Great location, VERY friendly staff.  Our room was reasonably clean -- I always disinfect and wipe down every hotel room we stay in regardless of how many stars it may be rated!  My objection was switch plates and light switches on lamps could be MUCH cleaner.

We had 2 double beds which were quite comfortable. They installed a new hair dryer while we were visiting, the old one worked, just updating. We had a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the room. Overall, quite nice and even though the hotel was booked to the maximum, it was quiet.

Should we return to Charleston, this was a nice hotel to stay.
