Nice hotel and reasonable weekday price if you book directly on their website.  I noticed a $20 price difference between hotels.com and their website. Very clean and decent breakfast selection. Comfy beds, free parking, and wifi.

i would go back. Nice pool, clean, free happy hour, parking and breakfast and they allow pets. We stayed in a suite which had a kitchen, two separate bedrooms, a common area, two bedrooms and three tvs. There was plenty of room to spread out. They will even do your food shopping for you if you leave them a list. Not bad! ALSO the location is idea close to historic area and folly beach there is also a shuttle to the historic area at night.

Just a decent experience...older amenities, bed is uncofortable, but free parking and free wifi.  Service isn't up to par as other Springhill Suites I have stayed at...will probably not stay here again.

While not as well appointed as newer Springhill Suites, I found this to be a comfortable and well run hotel.  I have always been impressed with Marriott properties and found you can always count on them for a good stay.

As with most Marriott properties, the bed was very comfortable.  The room was spacious and clean and included a desk and pullout couch.  The only complaint would be the "crib" we requested for our child.  It turned out to just be a pack and play.

The staff was courteous and helpful.  The hotel has a mini mart in the lobby that included snacks, drinks, and alcohol.  The included breakfast was a full spread complete with waffles to make, fresh oatmeal, cereal, and fresh entrees.  The breakfast casserole was really good.

The property also has a pool and hot tub.  The staff also organizes daily events for the guests.  Combine that with free cocktail hour and parking and this hotel is a great value for the price and is perfect for a weekend stay.

I loved the size of the suite, However our room floor was damp where you had to wear shoes all the time. Breakfast buffet was the greatest for this price and plenty of hot dishes. Gym was a decent size clean and modern. The bathroom was small but the shower water pressure was great! Parking can get hard to find if you get back from a night on the town late. A shuttle service is free which drops you off to the downtown French Quarter every hour from 5 pm til 11pm. I would come back and stay and give another star if back in town.

We recently stayed at this property while attending a wedding in Charleston.  I stay at Marriott's often, and understand the radical differences of Marriott Suites depending on where you are in the country.

that said, this is an older Marriott that really needs updating.  4:3 TVs are the first thing that need to go.

The desk is well set up, but you have to go crawling underneath to plug something in.  BUT...the wifi is free!

The beds are comfortable, but this Marriott uses the older A/C units that blow cold air directly at you.  That should be addressed.

The bathrooms are fine, but this property uses REALLY cheap curtain hangers that are pretty bent up and unclipped.

The breakfast (included) is a bit more robust than some of the other properties I've stayed at, and includes the basics as well as eggs, sausage, "make your own" waffles, etc.

The location is conveniently on the water....great ambiance.  Also, they do include a shuttle starting at 5pm running to/from downtown.

Parking is free...always a nice touch.

Overall, I'd probably stay here again, but would definitely appreciate an upgrade between now and then....

The location was great; very close to downtown, but the price was very reasonable.  The shuttle and the driver(Stanley) made this an ideal budget location.  The shuttle dropped us off and picked us up at a convenient location.  Even though it was packed everyone was able to fit in and it operated on the published schedule.  There was a good breakfast and a beer tasting when we first arrived.  It's nothing spectacular but it's clean, close to downtown and well priced.

I booked this stay a few months back using a complimentary Marriott Certificate I had earned. The front desk personal was super friendly. The gentleman gave may a welcome gift local treat and a bottle of water. He also me offered another 2 beverages and a snack from the marketplace store.

My room was located on the top floor and had a outdoor balcony and a view of the harbor
They offer a shuttle here twice an hour to the downtown area if you don't have a car which is great. They also offer complimentary breakfast daily, although I didn't eat here.

Overall I was happy with my stay here and would return again in the future.

Giving this place 2 stars as it has some work to do to get to the 3 or 4 star range. First, the room was very nice and updated. Didn't really like the placement of the TV as it was hard to see if you were lying on the far side of the bed, but that is a small detail. The bed was really awkward. There wasn't a mattress cover, but a blanket under the fitted sheet. It moved anytime you moved in the bed and caused wrinkles that you could feel under the sheet. Next, the duvet did not have a cover on it. I would not imagine those are washed after each guest, so I would have wanted to see a cover on it. Also, the duvet was way too small for the bed. It barely reached the edges of the bed and did not work when there were 2 people sharing the bed. It was a war all night pulling back and forth to try and stay covered by the duvet.

Now comes the worst part. We were woken up by construction at 7:45am. It sounded like someone was trying to come through the wall behind the bed. When I told the front desk about this, they stated that construction wasn't supposed to start until 9 or 10am. It's a little shocking that as a hotel manager, you didn't know that your hotel was having construction completed on it before it was scheduled. Also a little shocking, the construction manager was standing somewhere nearby and heard our conversation and came around to say sorry and ask if we wanted it stopped. Of course by that time, we were up and packed and nothing needed to be done. Didn't think it was too professional him stepping into our conversation while I was speaking to the manager, but that is not necessarily the hotel's fault.

Also, the shuttle to downtown needs to stick to its schedule a little better. It was over 15 minutes late and we almost missed our dinner reservations due to this.

Lastly, housekeeping needs to check the balconies when they are cleaning the rooms as we found a water-bottle full of cigarettes on our balcony.

If the bed situation and construction can get under control, I would recommend this hotel as a good option versus the outrageously expensive hotels in DT Charleston.

I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is right outside downtown Charleston (only a ten minute drive to King St). They had a very nice, hot complimentary breakfast every morning until 10:00 a.m. The hotel also offered free nightly shuttle service to downtown Charleston. We had a suite which was very large (included and kitchenette) and overlooked a marina. The only negative I have to say is that there could be more variety in the breakfast every morning (but hey, it was free) and the pool could have been bigger. But overall, I would stay here again!

Actually 3-1/2 stars.  The rooms are a contemporary take on a standard suite-style room.  We were on a recently renovated floor, which was bright and cheerful.  Our room was clean, and faced the marina (the other side faces a natural river wetland.  We booked here because it's a bargain compared to downtown hotels, parking is free, AND they've a free shuttle to/from downtown.  It's a 10 minute ride and has friendly drivers who know all the best places to eat in town.

We arrived by rental car; did I say that parking is free?  That's a plus if you're planning on visiting the plantations along the Ashley River (15-20 minutes away.)  Note that there's an elevator to the 2nd floor lobby; we found it after we'd dragged our bags up the large open stair.

The staff was fantastically welcome and helpful.  Though I'm a Marriott preferred guest, most hotels in this chain simply record the number, add the points, and go about their business.  At this property, a gift bag with maps, bottled water, and cookies were handed to me at check-in.  Nice!

A complimentary hot breakfast is included.  This includes scrambled eggs, home fries, and a breakfast meat, so this is a real plus.

There were two issues (otherwise a 4-star rating), which we reported to the desk.  Hopefully they'll make the fixes and your stay will be even better:  Wifi connections were slow, and occasionally dropped out; the TV had a peculiar connection problem, where it worked when we swung the unit from the wall, but lost the signal when we pushed it back, flush to the wall.

Wonderful large rooms. Clean and neat.  Lobby is on the second floor but there is an elevator to take you up. Friendly and helpful staff.

    Free parking.
    Free wifi.
Free hot and cold breakfast buffet.
Free shuttle to the historic district.
Free cookies and hot drinks at night.

Right on the marina with some great views and photo shots.

Only negative so far? No restaurants within walking distance but they do have menus for delivery options.

I was able to get a good price on Priceline of132. Reasonable for the location and items included. I would recommend it and stay here again.

Nice place to stay overall. Very convenient shuttle to downtown starting at 5pm till 11pm, the drivers are all friendly, knowledgable, and great at engaging you during your trip.

The room had 2 nice sized TVs, a clean king sized bed, and roomy bathroom. The room also had a large window, and plenty of lights. My only negative about the room are the pillows, may want to bring your own, mine were way to soft.

Breakfast in the morning is fantastic, a huge variety of food, and everything I had (grits, corn beef hash, turkey bacon, bagels, and muffins) was a delight to eat.

    I would stay here again.

Great location to access downtown Charleston and quite a savings over downtown.  We didn't even use the free shuttle because of our schedule, but it's 5-10 easy minutes to the free parking along the Battery.  Can't beat it.  It was very convenient to be able to quickly jump back to the hotel and then go back downtown for dinner.  Staff was great and breakfast was definitely above par.
